Your words this time halting as you felt the firm press of a forehead against your own. Mihawk’s eyes were closed in a harsh snap, the wrinkles of his crow’s feet laying prominent against the apples of his cheeks as he rose his right hand up to collect your jaw. All manner of professionalism left your body, your arms relinquishing their presence laying outstretched beside you and instinctively falling to the nape of the neck laid before you.

You felt his darkened locks graze against your fingertips, your eyes closing in response to this unrestrained caress. As you allowed a moment of silence to fall beneath you, the only aspect of the embrace falling between you were the elongated, shared inhale and exhale of air between your breath.

“I am trying my best, my lady,” you heard his voice utter in a tone only meant for your ears, a whimper caught within his mouth at the title, “but your demands are-,” he paused pressing further into your embrace, his body almost becoming flush with your own, “seemingly impossible.”

Why write another part when you can attempt to scribble that one scene you've been hyper fixated on since you wrote it? Okay! Now that that's out of the way, time to get into the writing!

i’m plotting out how the egghead arc is gonna go in my emotionless sanji au, and that + recent manga chapters have got me thinking about sanji and kuma potentially being parallels (or foils? idfk)

sanji, who is slowly having his emotions stripped away from him, for no reason other than the fact that terrible things were done to him before birth by an uncaring father.

and then there’s kuma. everything kuma did, every act of kindness disguised as cruelty, every choice he made—it was all for a hope in a better future, for a liberation he would not get to see. for a child he loved and was loved by.

both of them, meant to be weapons. neither of them wanted to be.

but at the end of the day, kuma is a father who sacrificed his humanity to save his daughter.

and sanji…well, sanji is a son whose humanity was sacrificed to serve his father. 

do you see it. do you see my vision.

Book of the Week: Transmigrating Into The Heartthrob's Cannon Fodder Childhood Friend

Author: This Concubine Is In Shanyang (妾在山阳)

Genre: transmigration, high school setting, danmei

Rating: T (despite Xie Sui’s best attempts 😔)

My Synopsis: If you’ve ever wondered how someone can play both bully and victim, look no further than Song Yu, our transmigrating main character who’s first instinct when faced with conflict is ✨violence✨ while his second is calling the cops, as he fights against his system to befriend and protect the reborn blackbelly protagonist-turned-love interest, Xie Sui, from a slew of dickwad suitors. Watch as Song Yu threatens to take on the whole damn world if he has to in order to keep Xie Sui single while Xie Sui just wonders whether he’ll even get a turn to enact his revenge on his foes without interception, thank you very much.

My Actual Review: The moment Song Yu walked into a room and immediately tried to brain an antagonist with a bottle of alcohol without so much as a “by your leave,” I was hooked. I think this is the first cnovel I’ve read where the MC’s first solution to a problem is just his hands 😭 Song Yu’s name can be found in the dictionary as an example of the word “tyrant.” But don’t worry! He’s only a harbinger of pain towards those who mess with the innocent and his loved ones (plus Xie Sui totally thinks it’s hot that this short king fights his battles for him). And for all of his violence, Song Yu’s goodness and persistence draws in both reader and LI, translating into an especially soft romance to counteract Xie Sui’s tragic romantic history. The drama and comedy tastefully interwoven into the high school setting makes for a lovely and moderately gripping read without becoming too stressful.

While the translation is currently incomplete, I finished it with an mtl and it was fine. However, it is still currently being translated and is almost finished, so if you want to wait for completion, that’s fine too.

I wanted to post these one arc at a time, and the Demon Mission arc is pretty short but honestly a great start. One hell of an introduction for the rookies! Also got to do some monster design! I thought about doing more, the queen and the ones that were actually causing all the trouble in town but decided to just do a base "drone/worker" type to not get carried away. This is just what I saw in my head.

Under the cut is a little comic of how I think Kakashi revealed to Naruto that he made ANBU!

I thought this would be a funny moment to have between them. :)

Dating Nanami was different than any other man you’ve been with. He was a gentleman in the truest sense. The dates consisted of quaint dinners, where you learned that he was a foodie who had quite an adventerous palette. Morning walks in the park where you slowly witnessed how his initial rigid appearances softened under the blue sky and sun. The first time he cracked a genuine smile in front of you, you found yourself buckling at your knees. He was so incredibly handsome but didn’t seem to realize it himself. You would catch the way his gaze fell to your lips mid-conversation, your heart beating wildly in your chest with anticipation…but Nanami didn’t kiss you until your twelfth date (and yes, you kept count). 

The longer he courted you, the more you found yourself falling deeper and deeper into the clutches of a blossoming romance. 

You were falling for him, and falling terribly hard.

my favourite thing about this panel in episode 63

is that rachel did not move athena for twenty three panels

^ this is at the beginning of episode 63. rachel literally kept athena and the background the exact same, blurred it slightly, and put hestia and artemis in the forefront. you can tell she's still got the vacant smile even blurred out. rachel's been doing the png thing for a while
