OOT Zelink is possible after Majora's Mask (theory 2024)
We don't really know what happened after MM so everything is possible until Nintendo denies it so here is my theory:
Everyone thinks that the only place Link could go after his trip through Termina is Lon Lon Ranch, but what if not? After all the last memories he had were about Zelda wishing she could meet Link again, she was THE ONLY PERSON who actually waited for him after his trip. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!
Tumblr media
So after his trip he goes to Zelda and tells her everything that happened to him, she believes him, in fact she might be the only person who believes him because he believed her when she had her visions of Ganondorf.
Link does not necessarily have to have worked on the ranch, there are many other jobs in castle town, I would like to think that he got a job near the castle so he could continue meeting Zelda.
As the years go by their relationship becomes even closer, unfortunately Zelda has to marry someone else so Link decides to continue his life without her. He meets someone else and they get along well, he decides to rebuild his life and marries that woman (Maybe that's why Nintendo never said with whom he had a child, because it was probably with a random woman we don't even know lmao). He has a daughter (I would like to think he has a girl) and thinks she is the most important thing he has now in his life.
Zelda does not love her husband but by the laws of nobility she has to give him an heir. Zelda becomes pregnant and although she does not love her husband, she loves her baby. She thinks it is the most important thing she has in her life now.
Link and Zelda rarely communicate because they already have priorities to maintain (each one with their children).
If you notice this is where the lineage of TP Link and TP Zelda is born!
As fate would have it Link's marriage doesn't work out and he gets divorced or she leaves him with his daughter.
The king passes away.
Do you see where I'm going with all this?
Zelda as queen can do whatever she wants now, so she goes to visit Link after so long. They both talk about their lives and realize they still have romantic feelings for each other. Zelda offers Link to be her personal knight and he unhesitatingly accepts, she gives him a special armor (the armor we see in Twilight Princess).
He becomes her prince consort.
However they have no children or maybe they had one but that son never had descendants Take it as you wish!
We don't know how exactly Link died, but everything points to the fact that he died in a war and lost his eye. Maybe he knew he wouldn't survive and that's why he went to the Lost Forest, dying there and regretting not having taught his techniques, so his spirit stays there until the other chosen one arrives to teach him his techniques.
Zelda is widowed again, that's why we see Link's grave in the castle graveyard in Twilight Princess (like why would his grave be in the castle?)
Years go by and both Link's daughter and Zelda's child grow up. Link's daughter decides to leave the castle and make her life elsewhere, she takes Epona with her, playing the song that HER FATHER taught her (because it is not necessary for Link to have married Malon to learn Epona's song)
Zelda's child takes the throne once she dies.
So with this we have the birth of TP Link and TP Zelda many years later. The reason I don't support the Link and Malon theory is because I find many inconsistencies: TP Link is an orphan, he lives in a tree not in the ranch (he doesn't even own it, the ranch belongs to Fado and he is a human) Link is the only Hylian in Ordon. It's probably that Jaggle or Pergie are descendants of Malon bc their sons are named Malo and Talo (probably she married a human knight or probably Nintendo just put those names bc yes lol)
Also remember Sheik's words? Young love become deep affection Link and Zelda spent time together before Link went on a trip to Termina, I think these words are a reference to them, how much they care about each other ♡
Of course these are my thoughts, you may agree or disagree with me!

Actually I'm not done talking about your Ganondorf yet, he's so blorbo/pos, this man wants power but has to put up with so much shit that he makes everyone else put up with his shit too. 10/10 also I would like to kiss him please
FIRST OF ALL THANK YOU AGAIN AAA, SECOND OF ALL you’re so right about this that i ended up…writing many paragraphs of character analysis about him in this regard because this activated something in my brain. like about him inflicting shit on other people because of the shit that’s inflicted on him, and how much i’ve thought about that. i have so many feelings about his shitty personality, i think a fundamental part of why i love him is that he is…literally an asshole and he’s kind of impulsive and often terrible to people for no reason and he’s probably genuinely unbearable to be around even if you are close to him, but i think he is that way by virtue of the COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE REALITY that he lives in?? like.
ok so. i feel like OoT ganondorf is AS unpredictable & unreasonable & unpleasant as the circumstances that he lives with. we’re talking about someone who was not only born into the role of king of a nation that’s been generationally abused by Hyrule since the start of a centuries-long war predating OoT, but he’s also become accustomed to fighting against the Sheikah of that time period, who notably still had an immense technological advantage, and apparently inherit divine knowledge from the gods, and are capable of making evidence of their crimes against humanity just sort of…DISAPPEAR from the sight of most average people??? and also they. fucking invented time travel apparently
one of my favorite bits of really underrated OoT lore is how the Composer Brothers (who you can speak to as ghosts in the Kakariko Graveyard) were hired at some point by the royal family to study the powers of the royal bloodline, and they invented the Sun’s Song, which accelerates time, turns night to day, etc. a form of time travel, in essence. and. canonically. the Composer Brothers committed suicide when they found out ganondorf was going to try to steal their completed research. maybe to prevent him from torturing the the information out of them even if they destroyed it? which is a completely fucking batshit piece of lore that i still cannot believe exists
but imo it also gives a bit more context as to how desperate ganondorf probably was at the heel end of the civil war, or whenever this happened. he was literally having to contend with people who can fucking time travel, and to some extent, alter reality at will, superficially or otherwise. i’m not at all surprised that he has a tendency to 1) hold grudges forever and remember everything that’s ever been done to him, and 2) obsess over stealing the full Triforce, the one chance that any regular mortal has at changing their reality in a fundamental way. i think it’s probably difficult to make real personal connections when you’ve always been constantly at risk of losing anything & everything that you care about, in a way that may or may not affect whether those things had ever existed in the first place
i also feel like he PREFERS to be demonized/label himself really hyperbolic things like the King of All Evil and stuff because it’s…the opposite of what Hyrule does. Hyrule makes itself out to be this Supremely Benevolent Institution That Is Chosen By The Gods And Can Do No Wrong, while simultaneously disappearing its naysayers underground and torturing them and killing them and committing genocide against any territories that refuse to be absorbed under the Hyrulean banner. i don’t think Ganondorf cares whether his actions are necessarily good or evil, but i think that to him, the most abhorrent thing in existence is a thing that claims to be good when it isn’t.
so. he presumably spent his entire early life having to fend off the ever-looming bootheel of Hyrule’s royal family, while their army and their secret police were actively destroying the Gerudo and then gaslighting them all about it on an Existential Level. like. yeah no i think him having immense issues and…projecting the lack of control that he feels onto people around him, and being fully defined by his ambitions to take the triforce, and wanting people to despise him/see him as fundamentally evil, and him being sort of incapable of forming genuine connections with people, is…kinda par for the course with that agdkahkfjagajfhs

The Links and ghosts.
LoZ/AOL (Hyrule) There are some sorts of enemy ghosts near the graveyard. There are also invisible ghosts, but he has a cross and he can see them.
LTTP/OoA/ALBTW (Legend) He can see ghini, which are sort of Poes
OoT/MM (Time). He can see Poes with his bare eye, he also has the Lenses of Truth, which allows him to see invisible Poes/people/spirits. Without the lenses he saw Mikau's ghost.
MC/FSA (Four). He interacted with the ghost of King Gustaf.
WW (Wind). There are Poes and the Spirits of the Sages are also there and visible.
TP (Twilight) can see ghost/Poe's/spirits as a wolf. Also, when he was a human, the ghost of a Queen Zora guided him to an armor.
SS (Sky). Zero ghosts/spirits, outside Fi, that is.
BoTW (Wild). He can see the spirits of the champions and the king.

OoT Highlights #2
After 30 minutes, I gave up on trying to pair my N64 controller. Gonna send it back. Should have read the reviews instead of getting too excited.

LoZ: BotW & TotK - Ideas for Future Games in the Wild Series
I've mentioned before how I would've loved to see the Mogma return as people living in the Depths, but I'd also love to see the return of the Twili, Minish, Yeti, Deku Scrubs, & Skullkids.
Maybe expand the number of sages. Mogma of Earth, Minish of Forest, Yeti of Ice, & Twili of Shadow. If not the Twili, then just make Paya the Shiekah Sage of Shadow like in OoT.
Also, put in emeralds & have them related to the wind. Maybe make the gem blade-shaped like Diamonds & Amber to indicate that, when fused to a hilt, it works like the Eightfold Longsword? Also, it adds +15 to attack.
Also, Light Dragon parts & Diamonds provide Light Damage which is more effective against Dark Enemies such as Gloom & Malice enemies. Also undead enemies.
Onyx for Shadow, which would be effective against Light enemies.
And Sandstone for sand, a.k.a. Earth. Which would be very effective against electricity.
Maybe Moonstone for Twilight which is a merging of Light & Shadow. Since it is part Light, it would also be effective against Dark & undead enemies.
---
Maybe even learn that there's a different race of Zora living in the Necluda Sea (maybe ones more like the old versions of the Zora) based off the ones from Termina & the River Zora had no idea. I can see Sidon being eager to make them allies.
And a different race of Goron still living in the Depths of Gorondia. Their look would be inspired by the Luminous Stones in the series.
Like this fanart right here:
Tumblr media
Not mine, but it's super cool-looking!
---
I'd also love to see the Keaton make a reappearance. If not as a character with riddles or puzzle or side quests, then as just something mentioned in myth & legend. Possibly relating to the Sheikah.
Speaking of myths, it'd be nice to hear about legends regarding diefied characters such as Jabun/Jabu Jabu, Valoo, the Goddess of the Sand, the 3 Golden Goddesses, ect. Also the Minish because they were part of Hyrule's myths too. And a mention about the Kokiri too! Like, again, it doesn't have to be part of the main story, just mentions.
It'd also be cool to see them in environmental storytelling.
I'd also be up for more Ruins of old temples.
Which, BTW, I wish there was more involving the Kakariko Graveyard. In that, I wish there was actually something there. Like, there's nothing! It's so small & I didn't even know that BotW/TotK Kakariko HAD a graveyard until recently when I just sorta stumbled across it in TotK! Like, was it also there in BotW & I just completely missed it??
---
Also, just bring back the Helm Splitter, Back Slice, Mortal Draw, & especially the Fatal Blow.
---
OOO!! And Darknuts & Iron Knuckles! I think they'd both be great additions to the Wild Series' Beastiary! Especially as enemies with really good ai.
You could even go pretty damn dark with the whole Iron Knuckles possibly being corrupted Gerudo thing.
---
Also a footwear slot & accessory slots. Footwear not having any defense, but effecting mobility. Like, you could use it to reintroduce things like the Pegasus Boots as running shoes of sorts, Flippers for swim speed, & Steel Boots for added weight in water. As well as new things like Climbing Boots for climbing. Things like that.
As for accessories, you'd get a crown, earrings, & necklace slot. That way, you can have an Accessory Set Bonus.
Also accessories that increase things like rupee amount. Like a Satori's Blessing Crown, Blupee Earrings, & a Bubbulfrog Necklace which you can get by completing a questchain in Gerudo Town with the Jewelry Lady. Aisha I think?
Also, the Wild Outfit's Set Bonus should be something like increasing item drops "Wild Bounty" for the initial perks & item drop rarity, "Wild Boon" or something for the actual Set Bonus. Because, as Hero of the Wild, BotW & TotK Link goes item farming A LOT. So, why not lean into that?
---
Also, I know that I've said it before, but I just wanna reiterate. I would LOVE to see underwater exploration & an actual in-game explanation that old Zora Armor were better. Then they go on a main quest to find a way to upgrade the Zora Armor by maybe going to Tanagar Canyon (where I think the Zora lived for a while during TP) where you discover the ruins of the TP Zora Domain. And there you find murals describing the Twilight War & the Zora's place in it. As well as a tablet in a room hidden behind the throne that describes how to make, like, a magical Kakashi-style fukumen face mask made from frog skin.
Because frogs use their skin to filter oxygen from water. A euryhaline frog like the Rana cancrivora specifically because it can survive in both fresh & salt water. I think I'd call it the Aquaskin Frog or something. It'd just be like any of the other frogs running around in BotW & TotK, just very rare. Like Tireless Frogs.
Tumblr media
This art actually is mine & I'm very proud of it!
Anyway, this upgrade would make it so just swimming normally doesn't use up stamina, but, like, dash swimming does & even when you run out of stamina in the water, the mask makes it so you don't drown & you just swim normally to recover stamina like when you stop sprinting on land. Also, when dash swimming, instead of it being in short bursts, it works like dashing on land.
Also, it'd have 2 modes. Surface swimming & underwater swimming & they'd function differently. In order to go from surface swimming to underwater swimming, either you dive from above water or you hit the Dive button while swimming on the surface.
Also, being able to use spears & all Zora weapons in water unless Link's wearing something like the Steel Boots. No other weapon types can be freely used in water. But maybe in order to do so, Link has to train with the Zora to learn how first? As such, fighting underwater has very different animations.
I also like the idea of Link getting a sort of Chain of Return attached to a gauntlet device where he hooks a spear weapon to a chain & he can throw the spear in the water then press a button to drag it back to him.
Could be a feature of the Clawshot in fact!
---
Also, bring back special magical equipment & a magic meter like in the old games. Specifically the clawshots & instruments that do special magic songs. And not the magitech "magic through a sciency filter" sort of magic like in the last couple games.
Legit full-on magic with spells.
If the power wheel were to return, I'd have the equipment as part of the power wheel, but do it like the Ratchet & Clank games do their weapon wheel & make it so while in the wheel, you can switch between powers & special equipment by flipping the right stick back & forth.
As a matter of fact, some of the equipment that I'd personally put in there would be whichever instrument is featured, clawshots, a hamaxe (hammer/axe), a shovel, a bow, & maybe a bug net & fishing rod.
Like, you can still just walk up to a bug & catch it, same with fish, but using the net or rod to do so gives you more at one time.
Oo! And maybe due to being able to use spears underwater, it could allow for spearfishing!!
Also, to keep the whole changing weapons thing, you have to upgrade your equipment like in Skyward Sword, which would require you to collect drops.
I might even put in a consumables wheel, half being for food & the other half reserved for elixirs & potions. Elixers can be made by Link, but Potions can only be made by alchemists, hearth mages, or herbalists. Because I really wanna make bottles special again!
Anyway, the wheels would act as a sort of quick select thing for when you're in mid-battle.
At the same time, I kinda wish you could fuse things to the bows too.
---
I also really liked how Malanya & weapon fusion was done! So, I'd really like to keep them both.
But, I guess that I'd like to expand on it! BotW had this mod called Second Wind where Link could learn some basic metallurgy & even some weaponsmithing! Which, holy crud, I wish was canon!
---
I'd also have more recipes. Especially settlement or species or region specific recipes. And more sidequests involving learning said recipes & teaching it to people or just bringing it to them.
Like, I feel like Lurelin & Goponga Village would make Bouillabaisse. But Lurelin uses Porgy while Goponga uses Bass.
Also, sometimes multiple settlements specialize in the same recipe, but use different ingredients.
Like, Tough Pumpkin recipes originated in Kakariko, but Sunny Pumpkin recipes are unique to Hateno.
Maybe have recipe-seeking questchains?
---
Oh my gosh! And do you know what I'd freaking love??? I'd love to see the Gerudo with agriculture!
Like, did you know that so long as you have reliable access to water, you absolutely can grow food I the desert!
A bunch even!
Tomatoes, sweet potatoes, beans, corn, wheat, cucumbers, squash, pumpkins, spinach, cabbage, lettuce, figs, dates, grapes, radishes, carrots, sweet peppers. All these things can be grown in the desert so long as water is available!
There's also a planting method that's supposed to help with this. It's called the straw grid method where you create a sort of fence of straw around a crop & it helps to keep the wind & sand off the base of the plant.
It can even be used to begin a sort of de-desertification process, but it'd take a lot of backbreaking work.
Like, obviously, things can grow there! BotW even had a sidequest where a little Vai named Dalia grew some Wildberries in a lot inside Gerudo Town!
So, it's even possible in-game!
I just... I wanna see the Gerudo thrive! Like, fuck all Ganondoofus' excuses about "the wind bringing death."
Egypt was once the greatest empire on earth & they were situated in the desert! And you know why they were able to thrive there?? Because of the Nile River, which brought them water!
So, wtf aren't the Gerudo at least as powerful as Hyrule???
Also, bring back the equestrian archery from OoT!! Bring back those Gerudo Horses & maybe bring in War Boars & Sheep.
I mean, the Sand Seals are cute, but I want more!
Like, what kind of pets do you think the Gerudo would have?
Personally, I hc Sand Cats, which are both their companions & deadly hunting/tracking buddies.
Also, why the absolute fuck are the little girls wearing crop tops?!?!
Put them in feminine thoubs or something!
---
Also, Fierce Deity backstory revealing that Zelda is the reincarnation of Hylia, Ganondorf is Demise's hatred, & Link is the Feirce Deity.
And make the Fierce Deity a god of war, protection, heroes, music, the forge, the moon, & death. A fierce, powerful, & vicious god with a heart as pure as gold, but solemn & melancholic due to the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. (Which actually has some canonical evidence suggesting it might be true, as in Japanese, the Fierce Deity is called a Kishin & the lore behind these figures is interesting to say the least. In fact, the Japanese Kishin are evidently inspired by the Buddhist Pāla.) Maybe he was the one who created the Sheikah in the same way that Hylia created the Hylians? This would suggest that his true name might have "Shei" in it.
I remember reading a fic somewhere where this was a thing & Hylia, Fierce, & Demise were all the children of the 3 Golden Goddesses who created Hyrule.
Demise, son of Din was the first given responsibility to care for Hyrule, but he became an evil being. Next came Fierce (not his actual name), who was the son of Farore & had been a kind, sweet, gentle soul, but in order to protect Hyrule from the evil in the hearts of men left behind by Demise, he had to forge himself into an instrument of war & punish those who commited acts of evil.
At his core, he was still the gentle, sweet boy who loved nature & music that he always was, but now much darker, far more traumatized, & more tired than before. Something happened & then Hylia, daughter of Nayru, was made the new patron deity of Hyrule.
Even after that, Fierce continued to dedicate himself to protecting the innocent, Hyrule, & specifically Hylia. In fact, at one point, he & Hylia were married.
Then, Demise returned to conquer Hyrule for himself. Fierce fought & defeated him, placing the seal upon Demise that we remember from Skyward Sword, but Fierce was gravely injured & had given up his godhood in the hopes of using the Triforce to end Demise once & for all before dying & been reborn as Skyward Sword Link as a result.
It was a really good story!
I can't remember who wrote it.
---
Now, while I don't consider Ganondorf being the villain as well as a Gerudo to be racist (as someone has to be the villain), I do think that it would be nice if the games had villains/antagonists from the other races as well. Including Hylian. Like Vaati was a Minish & the original Yiga were Sheikah. Those were both interesting twists!
And I even kinda headcanon that Byrne from Spirit Tracks might've actually been Sheikah.
So, it'd be cool to have some more of that variety so that it's made clear that evil is something that can come from any race.
I mean, we get a good deal of antagonism from a few of the elderly Zora in BotW, though not to the extent of being villains, but it felt a bit too short lived. However, that seems to come back again a bit with Muzu & I'm actually kinda pleased with the fact that he reacted almost instinctively in that way in TotK because that just means that this sort of thinking is probably very ingrained. Which is actually how bigotry tends to work irl.
Which indicates that he has some very ingrained racism despite having admitted that he was wrong last game.
Which, while an awful thing, is realistic! Some people are just gonna be racist assholes & you can't change that! XD
Sure, maybe you were proven wrong, but you've still spent years thinking that way. So, obviously, for a good while, you're first instinct is going to be to think that way again, even if it's a knee-jerk reaction.
---
Also, if not the upgraded Zora Armor, then the reintroduction of the magical transformation masks from Majora's Mask, but specifically with the Zora Mask turning Link into the old Zora design which would spark curiosity from the other Zora.
Then, add a Rito Mask & make the Korok Mask turn Link into a Korok. Also, the Deku Scrub Mask.
---
Also also, water should hurt Fire-Breath Lizalfos just as much as ice does. And Electric Lizalfos should have an elemental weakness.
Maybe the Earthwake Technique is especially effective against electric enemies.
---
Also, why THE EFF can't I pet the dogs or play fetch with them Nintendo?!?!
---
Also, I'd give Hyrule more of an alcohol culture, especially Gerudo & Lurelin who'd be famous for their cocktails. I've even made up a bunch of drinks & stuff for them. That, plus some extra fruits & stuff.
For the ingredients you don't recognize, please go to my LoZ Wild Masterlist at the bottom of the page & go to the New Ingredients post under Lore.

Rito Village often teams up with Tabantha Village for its production. The Gorons & Shadow Hamlet also make their own version of a Satori Vodka & the first time this happened it was like walking into a party where some other chick is wearing the same dress. They were like, "Well, SOMEONE'S gonna have to change," but all parties involved were too stubborn & now it's a full-blown rivalry.

Bloody Hilda = Hylian Tomato, Tabanthan Vodka (Hearty/Spicy), Spicy Pepper, Shock Fruit, & Rock Salt. - A reference to Link Between Worlds.

Satori Vodka = Satori Cherry (Hasty & Hydrating), Warm Safflina, & Hylian Rice. - Shadow Hamlet's version of cherry vodka. Goron City tends to pair up with Shadow Hamlet for its production. The Ritos & Tabantha Village also make their own version of a Satori Vodka & the first time this happened it was like walking into a party where some other chick is wearing the same dress. They were like, "Well, SOMEONE'S gonna have to change," but all parties involved were too stubborn & now it's a full-blown rivalry.
Goron City & Shadow Hamlet Cocktails:
Cinder Ale (Scorching 2-3) = Fire Fruit, Gleaming Ginger (Sunny), & Dodongo's Blood (Scorching 1). - Favored by Gorons & Shadow Hamletans.
-
Zora's Domain & Goponga Village Alcohols:
Cascade Wine (Rapid 1 & Hydrating) = Splash Fruit & Swift Violet. - Wine brewed from Splash Fruit. The Swift Violet doesn't nullify the effects of the Splash Fruit due to the 2 having Effect Synergy.
Satori Wine (Hasty & Hydrating 2) = Satori Cherry (Hasty & Hydrating), Cane Sugar, & Splash Fruit. - A wine made of Satori Cherries for the Hanami Festival. Zora's Domain typically aids Goponga in its production.
Zora's Domain & Goponga Village Cocktails:
Aqua Vita (Rapid 2-3) = Cascade Wine (Rapid 1 & Hydrating), Swiftsail Lavender (Rapid), Cane Sugar, & Splash Fruit. - A sangría made from Cascade Wine from Goponga. Zora absolutely love it!
Aqua Vita Frogría (Rapid 3 & Hydrating) = Ice Fruit, Cascade Wine (Rapid 1 & Hydrating), Swiftsail Lavender (Rapid), Cane Sugar, & Splash Fruit. - A frozen Aqua Vita. Zora absolutely love it, especially in summer!
-
Ordon Village Alcohols:
Courser Mead (Energizing) = Courser Bee Honey. - Hyrule's most common & cheapest alcohol. Despite how cheap it is, its actually pretty good. Made in Hyrule Castle Town, Mabe Village, Hateno Village, & Ordon Village.
Ordon Moonshine (Mighty 2) = Zonai Corn (Mighty), Mighty Thistle, Valiant Gladiolus (Mighty & Amorous), & Cane Sugar. - Only available in Ordon & only for residents. Has a very complex flavor profile.
Ordon Whiskey (Mighty 1) - Zonai Corn (Mighty) & Tabantha Wheat. - The most common adult beverage in Ordon.
Satori Whiskey = Satori Cherry (Hasty & Hydrating) & Zonai Corn (Mighty). - A whiskey made from Satori Cherries for the Hanami Festival.
Ordon Village Cocktails:
Spiked Apple Cider = Apple, Fall Seasoning, Cane Sugar, Acorn/Chickaloo Tree Nut, & Ordon Whiskey (Mighty 1) - Ordon's favorite fall drink. Beloved & deeply nostalgic. Commonly served at Ordon's Harvest Festival in fall & is a very popular drink all over Hyrule around that time.
Spiked Golden Apple Cider (Mighty 3) =  Golden Apple, Fall Seasoning, Cane Sugar, Farore Hazelnut (Lightningproof), Mighty Thistle/Valiant Gladiolus (Mighty & Amorous), & Ordon Whiskey (Mighty 1). - The best version of Ordon's favorite fall drink. Beloved & deeply nostalgic. Comes in short supply due to how rare Golden Apples are. Commonly served at Ordon's Harvest Festival in fall & is a very popular drink all over Hyrule around that time.
-
Gerudo & Ealiyah Town Alcohols:
Ealiyan Spiced Whiskey (Spicy 1) = Tabantha Wheat, Warm Safflina, & Spicy Pepper. -  A warming whiskey made for winter.
Wildberry Wine = Wildberry. - Wine made from the Wildberries of the Gerudo Highlands. A winter drink.
Fudkarràck (Spicy/Chilly/Electric 1) = Any Safflina & Tabantha Wheat. - A Gerudo alcohol brewed from Cool Safflina & Wheat from the Gerudo Highlands.
Màlàkshedeh (Chilly/Icy 1) = Cool Safflina, Desert Queen (Chilly/Icy), & Oasis Honey (Recovery)/Sàbaar Fruit (Recovery). - A very special Gerudo alcohol that is delicious & sweetly spiced. It is inspired by Shedeh, which was the most precious wine in Egypt. Màlàkshedeh was originally only reserved for the Chief's family, but since Riju's decree, other Gerudo are allowed to imbibe it, though only on important holidays. Is very difficult to brew, which was a large contributor to why it was originally so exclusive. While technically any Safflina will work, Cool Safflina is recommended as it doesn't conflict with the Desert Queen.
Sàtrï Shedeh = Satori Cherry (Hasty & Hydrating), Warm/Cool Safflina, Oasis Honey (Recovery)/Sàbaar Fruit (Recovery), & Frostbane Blossom (Spicy)/Desert Queen (Chilly). - A precious, springtime, honey spirit brewed for the Hanami Festival. Gerudo Town typically teams up with Ealiyah Town to produce it. They tend to switch between the 2 recipes they use depending on what's most abundant that year. - Inspired by Shedeh, which was the most precious wine in Egypt.
Ealiyah Town Cocktails: (Ealiyans invented the Daiquiri)
Noble Pursuit (Electro 2-3) = Palm Fruit, Hydromelon, Voltfruit, Rock Salt, & Electro Fudkarràck. - The original recipe. Can technically be made with any Fudkarràck, but Electro Fudkarràck is recommended as it doesn't negate the effects of the Shock Fruit.
Shockonana (Stormy/Charged 2-3) = Shock Fruit, Korok Leaf, Cane Sugar, & Electro Fudkarràck. - A relatively new cocktail only made after the Upheaval. A sweet & sour drink with some serious zing & a nice fizz on the tongue. A favorite among young adults. Can technically be made with any Fudkarrack, but Electro Fudkarrack is recommended as it doesn't negate the effects of the Shock Fruit. (A reference to Limonana which is a Middle Eastern mint lemonade.)
Hot Toddy (Energizing) = Ealiyan Spiced Whiskey, Oasis Honey (Recovery), Shock Fruit, Korok Frond, Fall Seasoning, & Zonai Cofégranos (Energizing). - A good drink to start the day with.
Hydromelon Daiquiri (Chilly 3 & Hydrating) = Ice Fruit, Chilly Fudkarràck, Hydromelon, & Splash Fruit (optional). - Made with Ealiyan Gerudo bartending techniques, who are often hired in Gerudo Town to be bartenders & it's absolutely extremely popular in Gerudo Town, especially in midday when it's hottest. Can technically be made with any Fudkarràck, but Chilly Fudkarràck is recommended. The Splash Fruit is both optional & expensive due to it being an import, but it makes for an even better & more effective drink. Very hydrating which is perfect for desert living. Zora love it too!
Spiced Pineapple Shrug (Spicy 2-3 & Hydrating) = Spicy Pepper, Faron Pineapple (Spicy & Hydrating), Gleam Ginger (Sunny), & Spicy Fudkarràck. - Very popular both in the Highlands & the Desert. However, the fact that they need to import the Feron Pineapples from Lurelin means that the drink tends to be more expensive. Tabanthans & Ritos also tend to greatly enjoy it.
Chieftain's Resolve (Stormy/Charged 2) = Shock Fruit, Desert Queen (Chilly/Icy), Rock Salt, Gleam Ginger (Sunny), & Electro Màlàkshedeh. - A very special occasion sort of cocktail meant only for celebrations. Was made in honor of Chief Riju & Sir Link's success against the Gibdos &, later, the Demon King. Electro Malakshedeh is recommended as it doesn't negate the effects of the Shock Fruit.
Sàtrï Slush (Hasty 1) = Ice Fruit, Sàtrï Shedeh, & Satori Cherry (Hasty & Hydrating). - Not very popular in Ealiyah itself, but Ealiyan Gerudo are often hired in Gerudo Town to be bartenders & it's absolutely extremely popular there, especially in midday when it's hottest. Only available during spring.
-
Lurelin Alcohols:
Rama Lama = Any Milk & Cane Sugar. - A sort of rich cream rum.
Rama Hua Pāma (Hydrating) = Palm Fruit & Cane Sugar. - A rum made with palm fruit.
Rama Alani (Enduring & Hydrating) = Lurelin Orange (Enduring & Hydrating) & Cane Sugar. - A rum made with oranges.
Rama Paina (Spicy & Hydrating) = Faron Pineapple (Spicy & Hydrating) & Cane Sugar. - A rum made with pineapples.
Rama Satori (Hasty & Hydrating) = Satori Cherry (Hasty & Hydrating) & Cane Sugar. - A rum made of Satori Cherries to be drunk at Hanami.
Lurelin Cocktails:
Dirty Banana = Mighty Banana, Rama Lama, & Zonai Chocolate (Spicy & Amorous). - A cocktail made with Mighty Bananas, & Zonai Chocolate powder steeped in a Cream Rum.
Kalima ʻAlani (Enduring - Half○ & Hydrating 2) = Lurelin Orange (Enduring & Hydrating), any Milk, Rama Alani (Enduring & Hydrating), & Rama Lama. - Sort of an orange cream cocktail. Fantastic just before a hard day's work.
Kalima ʻAlani Daiquiri (Enduring - Full○ & Hydrating) = Ice Fruit, Lurelin Orange (Enduring & Hydrating), any Milk, Rama Alani (Enduring & Hydrating), & Rama Lama. - A frozen Kalima ʻAlani. Fantastic just before a hard day's work. The Ice Fruit are imported from the Gerudo Highlands & Tabantha regions.
Lurelin Sunset (Hydrating 3) = Faron Pineapple (Spicy & Hydrating), Lurelin Orange (Enduring & Hydrating), & Rama Hua Pāma (Hydrating). - Named after the most beautiful view in Hyrule & inspired by a Miami Sunset cocktail.
Paina Colada (Spicy 3 & Hydrating 3) = Palm Fruit, Faron Pineapple (Spicy & Hydrating), Shock Fruit, Ice Fruit, & Rama Hua Pāma/Rama Paina (Spicy & Hydrating). - Just a Piña Colada, but Paina instead because Paina is Hawaiian for pineapple.
---
I have the idea that the Shiekah holiday of the Hanami Festival is sort of a Hyrule-wide undertaking. Like, it originated in Kakariko, but it has spread to be a Hyrule-recognized holiday. As such, each village harvests the nearby Satori Tree at the beginning of spring in order to make their own version of a Satori Spirit for the Hanami Festival which takes place over the last 3 days of spring. The best yield is offered up to Satori as thanks for allowing them to use his trees' cherries.
---
Also, I'd make it so when at home, you can cook in bulk & have access to more complicates cooking methods. Such as the making of 2nd Tier Ingredients. Meaning ingredients made from other ingredients.
Quite a few 2nd Tier Ingredients would allow you to condense recipes by replacing multiple ingredients with a single one. Thus allowing you more room to work with.
I'd also make it so that the more you cook, the more experienced you become at cooking, thus the more ingredients you can use. Therefore increasing the number of ingredients from 5 to 6, then 7, & eventually 10.

Hi there!
Hey guys, I'll admit it.
I'm not sure what I'm doing.
But I'm a writer, musician, and Zelda enthusiast! I write for Linked Universe mainly (Illegible_Handwriting on ao3) and I figured I should make a Tumblr, so here we are! I like a bunch of other things too, though (marble hornets, stormlight archive, gravity falls, unravel 2, metroid, doctor who, the owl house, rottmnt, ben drowned/awakening, generation loss, episodes 4-9of star wars, HUMAN RIGHTS DAMMIT, just to name a few) so I'll pretty much post whatever I want to.
I swear a lot, so be warned.
Nonbinary (and everyone is hella valid, homophobes/terfs/transphobes/racists/ableists/anti-Semites etc. beware >:( so be nice everyone)
I use "#illeg scribbles" for my writing, and #chicken scratch for any other rambles or posts I make. #reblog is exactly what it sounds like!
#smoke & ashes has its own tag, and so does #dear four chronicles! #the chosen and the champion also exists but I don't really use it anymore because I'm working on s&a, so if you want updates on that, use the smoke & ashes tag thx :D
And I don't know how active I'll be on here (probably not a lot) but we'll see how this goes! If I'm not active, don't be alarmed, that'll be normal probably lol.
I guess I should make a masterpost huh. Ok that's under the cut.
The Chosen and the Champion series (in progress)
The Chosen and the Champion (Switch gang tribute): Completed. A ton of Wild and Sky content because I saw Skyward Sword on Switch and went FUCK yes. This got off the rails very quickly. Just read all of them at this point, cuz I don't know what I'll bring back next. Chapter 20 and onwards is Exploring Sky's Hyrule.
Smoke & Ashes: Incomplete and in progress!! continues where C&C left off, with a huge fucking focus on Sky's adventure, specifically the end. However, unlike most fics, people are NOT very happy or forgiving with Sky. If you know, you know. VERY ANGST HEAVY. PLEASE READ ALL THE TAGS AND WARNINGS.
Like Mounds of Molten Gold: Incomplete and in progress!! Just a bunch of extra content for the C&C universe! Some are companion pieces to a specific chapter or section, while some are just random shit. There might be cut content every now and then. All of them help to give a deeper/more enjoyable experience to the main fic (in my opinion).
The Dear Four Chronicles (in progress)
Dear Four: completed. oneshot. pre-Minish Cap Four and post-LU Sky. Shenanigans ensue.
Hey Time: completed. oneshot. pre-OoT Time and post-LU Four. Shenanigans but it's 12k this time.
Hello Wind (temp title): being written! IDK when it'll come out, but it'll happen eventually. I promise.
The Groose is Loose! (temp title, in progress??? Maybe???)
A Weight Called Eternity: completed. oneshot. I asked the question "what was Groose doing during the Demise fight?" This is absolutely spliced from ch16 of S&A. Do I care? No. It's edited substantially as well, and is not LU, but SkSw instead. ALSO HEAVY ANGST
Other fics:
There it is again, that funny feeling...: Incomplete and in progress!! multi-chapter. It's a bunch of different ideas all stemming from the same base question: "what if Sky was the Fierce Deity?" Each chapter is a separate AU. Please heed the warnings on this one.
Imagine all the fun you and your future self could have, if only you had a driver's license: Completed. multi-chapter. Long-ass title because I never thought of a better one. Basically, pre-LU Wild and Sky are in Mariokart! Bunch of crack. Lots of fun.
Here lies Link: completed. oneshot. Four digs a grave for a dear friend. Also Wolfie is there for emotional support. Heed the tags.
Storybook: completed, i guess. oneshot, i guess. pre-Minish Cap Four knows about Sky and I think that's the most precious idea. If I ever come back to this, I'll let you know.
Freezing Flame: completed. oneshot. halloween from a couple years ago. Wind finds a graveyard. Heed the warnings.
All the Lights in the World (Are Slowly Going Out): completed, i guess. discontinued, really. multi-chapter. I tried Wumptober 2022 and I only got 3 prompts in. heed the tags and warnings.
Fluffy Pillows and Angsty Teens: incomplete! multi-chapter. Random shit i wrote!!
Beyond Recollection (discontinued): done, i guess. Multi-chapter. Was gonna be about a female hero after twi who people couldn't remember, but i left the idea.
As twilight fell: completed. oneshot. my first fic. don't read it. save yourselves. I might rewrite it eventually. heed the warnings in the tags.

Febuwhump Day 28 (You’re Safe Now): Old Ties
ao3 link here
(this version of Ganondorf is pretty OOC for OoT but eh, its already an AU, let’s assume some butterflying)
The pain in Link’s leg wasn’t as bad now. He wanted to try and remain optimistic, but with the amount of blood pooling on to the ground around it, he was pretty sure that was a bad thing. Pulling himself up to get a better look at the wound, he glared at the door to the Shadow Temple that lay in front of him, the eye of the Sheikah staring down at him.
Turning to the wound, he frowned. It was a bad one, white bone visible under all the blood. The blade of the trap he hadn’t moved away from quickly enough had cut deep, and he’d only just managed to activate Farore’s Wind before the monsters in the room could take advantage of his injury, transporting himself back to the temple’s entrance. He checked his pack, confirming what he already knew— he was out of potions and fairies. Glancing up at the stairs that led up to the graveyard, he tried to gauge whether he could make it up them and into Kakariko itself to get help without his leg giving out on him completely. He could make it up the stairs with some effort, he decided, the problem was the jump down into the graveyard itself.
Looking around at the torches that filled the small room, he tried to think of ideas. Maybe he could take apart one of the braziers, and put together a makeshift set of crutches? He’d have to handle the first aid before that though. Rummaging through his pack, careful not to disturb a sleeping Navi, and pulled out his supplies. He considered stitching the wound, but once he got a potion he’d have to take them out again, so it didn’t seem worth it. He was just finished with the bandages when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
Link froze as Ganondorf stepped into the room. He wasn’t meant to be wandering about Hyrule! He was meant to be staying in his annoyingly floaty castle until Link arrived to fight him! Their eyes met, hate meeting hatred.
“Well,” said Ganondorf, “you seem to be having some problems.”
“I wouldn’t be having them if you—“, Link moved to get himself into a more dignified position than hunched over his leg, “— if you hadn’t gone around cursing every temple in Hyrule”.
Ganondorf frowned at that.
“I won’t deny that I cursed the temples in the forest, volcano, and the bottom of the lake, but this one was cursed well before I got here. I didn’t even free the spirit that attacked Kakariko, the draining of the well must have weakened its seal.”
“Who would just leave a cursed temple sitting around!?”
“The Royal Family of Hyrule would. Tell me,” he was sitting down now, something that just seemed odd to Link, ”what do you know about the Civil War that ended eight years ago?”
“Oh,” said Link, “not much actually, I’m not from Hyrule.”
Ganondorf seemed a bit shocked by this.
“If you’re not even from Hyrule, why are you even doing this? What was your motivation for opening the Door of Time, fighting through my monsters, and stealing my horse? Because a princess asked you to?”
“I mean there was what happened to Castle Town… and Zora’s Domain… and the Gorons… and before that Lord Jabu-Jabu, and Dodongo Cavern… also you killed my dad. So before I even met you I was pretty opposed to anything you might do.”
“I think I would remember killing your father— unless he was one of the castle guards?”
“No, he was a tree.”
“… That makes more sense.”
“So… why haven’t you killed me yet?” asked Link. “I mean—,” he gestured at his injured leg, “I’m not really in a position to fight you right now?”
“You’re safe for now. You… remind me of someone. When I was young— around the age you were when you drew that blade on your back— my mothers found a teacher for me, to train me how to fight the knights of Hyrule. He was one of them, you see, at least until he learnt of this place.” Ganondorf gestured at the temple before them. “I never did learn what happened to him in the end, but I can only assume his betrayal of the kingdom was discovered…” He looked Link directly in the eye. “He had a son.”
“I’m still going to fight you. A man I never knew will never change that” Link said as he stumbled up onto his feet, wincing at the pain, Ganondorf helping him stand steadily.
“I know. But I’ll still help you here and hope that you’ll reconsider.”
Once he was back in Kakariko, a red potion later, Link thought back to what Ganondorf had said, to what he’d seen in the Shadow Temple, to who his birth parents might have been. He’d keep on with his quest, he decided. He’d awaken the sages of Shadow and Spirit, break the curses on their Temples, and confront Ganondorf in his castle. But maybe that confrontation didn’t need to be a fight.

I haven't finished tears of the kingdom yet, but this is a problem I also had with breath of the wild... for settings that are both in dire straits, they're very... well. there doesn't have that dark feeling.
I will never forget how much I didn't want to go into the graveyard, the well or the shadow temple in OoT. Majoras Mask is still terrifying, especially that bit about gibdo and the mask of healing. Wind Waker had horrific redeads, Twilight Princess was very unsettling very often... but it feels like ever since skyward sword, the darker elements have gone from explicit to implied but only if you tilt your head.
I don't want the game to be M rated, but I miss that feeling of like... dread. I STILL am scared to go in the Well in OOT, whereas in botw I'm just not as interested in the world I guess. There's tons to explore and that is cool, but... idk. maybe it will get scarier in totk?

botw was my first game so i’m like finally starting to understand what people mean by wanting better dungeons playing tp
also in oot and tp there’s like poe spirits and redeads and stalfos and wouldn’t it make sense for there to be like an undead themed dungeon in botw since the whole of hyrule is basically a graveyard & link is living with these constant reminders of his failure 100 years before? i think him having to deal with vengeful spirits would drive that point home even more. this dungeon as like a metaphor for processing and resolving that grief and shame, especially after recovering all his memories
like he can’t change the past or bring anyone back but he has a second chance to make it right & that has to be worth something

On August 25th 1776 the Philosopher David Hume died.
In his books on philosophy, Hume said that many of our beliefs do not come from reason. Instead, they come from our instincts or feelings. For example, reason does not tell us that one thing causes another. Instead, we see one thing and then we see another, and we feel a link between the two. Similarly, reason does not tell us that someone is a good person. Instead, we see that the person is kind and friendly, and we feel a special moral feeling. Because Hume thought that these beliefs do not come from reason, people call him a “skeptical” or “anti-rationalist” philosopher.
His scepticism went as far as religion, when it was dangerous to question the existence of god and the vast majority of people were believers.
There’s a wee anecdote Hume himself used to recount, he told the story t that on his way back to the Old Town after visiting his New Town house, while it was still being built, he lost his footing he fell knee-deep into mud at the Nor’ Loch, it was being drained at the time and was more a Nor’ Bog than Loch, (it is now Princes Street Gardens) he was so stuck he could not get out on his own and finally gave a cry for help.
An old fishwife is said to have went to his aid but on recognising him as “Hume the Atheist” refused to help, Hume implored,
“But my good woman, does not your religion as a Christian teach you to do good, even to your enemies?"
"That may well be,” she replied. “But ye shallnae get oot o’ that, till ye become a Christian yersell, and repeat the Lord’s Prayer and the Belief!"
Did he stand his ground and ridicule the superstitious beliefs of this woman? Of course not. To the surprise of the fishwife, he readily complied, and true to her word she helped him out of the bog.
Hume was a careful planner and long before he died he left the following instructions in his will:
“.........I also ordain that, if I shall dye any where in Scotland, I shall be bury’d in a private manner in the Gallon Church Yard (also known as the Calton graveyard), the South Side of it, and a Monument be built over my Body at an Expence not exceeding a hundred Pounds, with an Inscription containing only my Name with the Year of my Birth and Death, leaving it to Posterity to add the Rest.”
His request would be fulfilled, although later additions and alterations would mar the dignified simplicity of Hume’s vision. Before his monument could be built, however, the great Skeptic and Empiricist, had to be buried in the plot he had secured for himself in Calton.
Here’s how economist and friend Adam Smith described Hume’s final days in a letter to Hume’s literary executor, William Strahan;
‘The placid, even cheerful death of so prominent an irreligious figure drew a great deal of public attention. Crowds assembled outside his house waiting to hear if he would change his mind about the improbability of an afterlife once death came a-knockin’.’
After his burial, his friends stood guard at the grave site, pistols cocked and torches aloft, for eight days and nights to ensure his grave would not be desecrated or interfered with. It’s said that some of the curious hid behind gravestones to see if the Devil himself would come and spirit away the man James Boswell dubbed “the Great Infidel.”
By 1778, Adam’s vision of Roman-inspired cylindrical mausoleum much like those found on the Appia Antica, complete with pre-fab decay, had been construction over Hume’s burial spot and an adjacent lot bought by the philosopher’s brother John. Robert Adam used unpolished masonry and rough ashlar to convey the impression of classical antiquity. Over the doorway was the simple inscription Hume had requested: “DAVID HUME, NATUS APRIL. 26. 1711. OBIIT AUGUST 25. 1776” At some point before 1813, for reasons lost in the mists of time, someone replaced the Latin “NATUS” with “BORN” and “OBIIT” with “DIED.”
After that, some more wording was added even less in keeping with Hume’s vision. Hume’s nephew, a famous jurist also named David Hume, erected a memorial to his wife Jane Alder after her death in 1816. Her name was inscribed on funerary urn in a niche about the door and captioned with:
“Behold I come quickly Thanks be to GOD which giveth us the victory, through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.”
Somewhere between then and 1820 yet another inscription was added just below the tablet, this one noting that the tomb was “Erected in Memory of Him/ in 1778” because by then the mausoleum had become something of a family vault, so its original purpose needed reiterating. During the mid-19th century, a metalwork cross was erected on a plinth above the keystone. The date 1841 is inscribed on it, perhaps indicating when the cross was added, perhaps in memoriam of Hume’s nephew David who had died in 1838. The cross was gone by the 1880s.
With Adam’s incorporating decay into the original design, plus all the later activity, plus the passage of time, Hume’s mausoleum was in dire need of cleaning and maintenance. The City of Edinburgh Council and Edinburgh World Heritage, plus a of private donors, pulled together to sponsor a a proper conservation of the mausoleum in 2011, the 300th anniversary of Hume’s birth.
Conservators focused on clearing vegetation and mortar pointing to replace crumbling mortar with fresh, durable lime. Particular attention was paid to the decorative elements on the cornice, architrave, and frieze around the top of the structure.
A spokesman for Edinburgh World Heritage said: “The Hume mausoleum is of great importance to the city and Scotland. Designed by the famous architect Robert Adam to commemorate the nation’s foremost philosopher, it neatly encapsulates Edinburgh’s history as a city at the heart of the Enlightenment. This sort of conservation work is essential to keep the building in good order for the future, and to encourage more people to appreciate the value of the city’s historic graveyards.”
This was accomplished for the bargain price of £5,000, I think he would have approved.

Just a thought, Imagine a Majora’s Mask spiritual sequel where Link loses his human form, again, but this time he can transform into multiple races from the Zelda universe, in a BotW worldspace.
Start off as a meager scrub, through bad luck you lose your form to the big bad, who isn’t ganon again, explore the world via flying around with the flowers around the world that you can grow somehow. Find an avian race in the sky, zora in the deep sea, Gorons in the mountains, Phantoms in the graveyard. Even Moblins or something. You could interact with races as all different kinds and get different reactions depending on them.
Basically just take Majora’s Mask, like, really take it, take the world, the characters with down to earth personality and situations, to a degree of course, while also expanding on the mask mechanic, and, this especially, it needs to feel like a “side-plot” just like Majora’s Mask did. Imagine, after OOT, you got to play that same Link, again, in a different plot, with yes, the same character models and similar backstories and such, but everything felt as though it were it’s own world, it’s own plot, it’s own little slice of the universe. The music, the textures, the locations, these all seperate MM from OOT immediately upon first glance.
While BotW doesn’t feel entirely like previous games, where it just kinda felt like repeating the same storyline in slightly differing settings, but it does feel like one step towards a complex idea that needs far more to be fully utilized. I think it’s cool Link does so much just on his own, using a paraglider to get places, a bike to drive around, climbs on his own, etc etc, at some point that does start to run dry, and I think varying the abilities was not only the furthest the series went til BotW, but was also pretty much the last time they actually re-tried it. I mean, wolf link just...kinda sucked, and wasn’t a step up from MM at all.
Idunno, I look forward to BotW2, but I’m already pretty desperate for another big jump, utilizing this style, but doing something radically different like MM did. Just without the convolution.
