Dani brings her laptop, working quietly in the corner, refusing to leave until Tyler is forced to rest. Dexter makes sure Tyler eats, even if it means feeding him himself. "Any changes, Doc?" Tyler asks, his voice barely a whisper.
Dr. Emerson turns to him, a small, comforting smile on her face. "Her vitals are steadily improving. The brain activity shows promising signs. She's still in a coma, but these are good indicators. It’s just a matter of time."
With those reassuring words, Dr. Emerson gives Tyler a gentle nod before turning to leave the room, the other doctor following closely behind. The soft click of the closing door lingers in the air, marking the transition from clinical observation to personal vigil.
Tyler takes his seat beside you, gently holding your hand. "Hey, beautiful," he begins, his voice soft but steady. "I know you can hear me. I thought I'd share some stories, like old times."

His hand grips yours tightly, as if even in sleep, he cannot let go. His face is etched with lines of stress and fatigue, evidence of the nights he has spent by your side.
For a few moments, you simply watch him. Even in his exhausted state, there’s an undeniable tenderness in the way he holds your hand. You notice the dark circles under his eyes, the stubble that has grown from days of neglecting himself. Deep down, an overwhelming sense of gratitude and love wells up within you. You realize now more than ever just how much he means to you.
Gradually, you muster the strength to give his hand a weak squeeze, something to pull him from the depths of his weariness. His eyes flutter open slowly, confusion briefly crossing his features before they lock onto yours. Instantly, his face transforms—a mix of shock, awe, and profound relief.
"Y/N..." he breathes, his voice shaky and filled with emotion. Tears pool in his eyes, and you can see him fighting to hold them back, but it’s a losing battle. As the realization washes over him, that you’re finally awake, his tears begin to fall freely. "You’re... you’re awake. Thank God, you’re awake."
A lump forms in your throat, making it hard to speak, but you manage a small smile. "Tyler," you rasp, the single word carrying all the emotions you can't yet express.
He lifts your hand to his lips, pressing fervent kisses to your knuckles. "I love you, Y/N. I love you so much," he chokes out, his voice breaking with raw emotion. "I thought... I thought I’d lost you. I’m so sorry, Y/N. For everything. For the things I said. I was scared and I handled it all wrong."
You can feel the wetness of his tears on your hand, and it breaks your heart to see him in such pain. Gathering what strength you can, you shake your head slightly. "No, Tyler. We both did things we regret. I pushed you away when I should have let you in. But we can’t change the past. We can only move forward."
He nods, his teary eyes never leaving yours. "We’ll fix this. Together," he vows, his voice filled with a newfound determination.
Your smile grows a bit stronger, as you grip his hand with a bit more strength. "Together," you echo, the word binding the two of you in a promise of unity and hope.
"I love you, I love you, I love you," Tyler repeats fervently, his tears now mingling with a relieved laugh.
You can't help but let out a light giggle, the sound so sweet to Tyler’s ears. "I love you, I love you, I love you," you reply, your heart feeling lighter for the first time in a long while.
Tyler chuckles softly, his expression softening as he looks at you. "I think the doctors are going to start charging me rent for how long I've been here."
You laugh weakly, the sound like music to his ears. "Well, as long as you don't start claiming squatter's rights. We might have to evict you."
His laughter mingles with yours, the room now filled with a warmth and happiness that seemed impossible just moments ago. "Deal. I'll leave when you do," he declares, his voice brimming with love and commitment.
The path to recovery will undoubtedly be long and arduous, but for now, the hardest part is over. The heavy cloud of uncertainty has lifted, replaced by a glimmering beacon of hope. The room, once cold and sterile, now feels warm, filled with the palpable power of your mutual love and commitment.
As the rhythmic beeping of the machines continues to fill the background, you and Tyler share a moment of silent understanding, knowing that whatever challenges lie ahead, you’ll face them hand in hand. "I love you," he whispers once more, the promise of these words a soothing balm to your soul.

Unprompted concubine AU ficlet? More likely than you think. Megatron reflects and agonizes over his newsparks' lot in life
...
"What have I done, Soundwave...?" His voice sounds faraway, and brittle. Soundwave has never known his amica to sound brittle. Despite the late hour, they're botha wake: Soundwave can't possibly retire for the evening until Lord Megatron does, and it doesn't look like that will be anytime soon.
The primal concubine swallows, one servo extending to brush over the tiny, frail little helm in the cradle before him. His younger son looks so much like his father, boasting his altmode and tiny, nubby finials. The sparklings had only been released from the NICU and given a clean bill of health to go home 2 days ago. They're so tiny, and so fragile. He was sure they'd be bigger, given the abuse his body had had to endure while growing them, but beneath his servos they're so achingly small. Their plating is so thin, he's afraid it will crack if he simply brushes them wrong. Their tiny systems are so quiet, the softest whirring with gentle little sighs, tiny puffs of air rhythmically assuring him that they're still online. Irrational fear gnaws at his spark as he sweeps his gaze over to his older son.
If he looks away, they'll die. He's sure of it. Their little sparks will stop pulsing, their systems will fail and they'll wither right there in their cradles. Part of him knows that's ridiculous, knows that they're healthy as can be, but... the paranoia refuses to leave no matter how hard he tries to banish it. What if they have an emergency in the middle of the night and he's not awake and aware enough to help them? What if they're too fussy for their wetnurse and refuse to suckle without their carrier present? What if one of his sparklings rolls over and compressss his chassis and causes undue stress to his ventillation system?! What if they somehow chip off a piece of their cradle and get it lodged in their throat? What if they have nightmares and think he's abandoned them? What if... what if-?!
The silver mech pinches himself, hard. Stop spiralling, he chides himself. He just... needs to watch them a bit longer. Just a few more kliks, and he'll be satisfied for tonight. Satisfied in their safety, and in their comfort.
Megatron wishes he could be content with that. He should be content with it.
He remembers, vaguely, once when he was very small... overhearing his creators late in the night. He'd been sick, riddled with fever and struggling to sleep. His sire was crying, and his carrier had sounded so angry, and so frightened. He wouldn't find out until vorns and vorns later that the same illness had taken his older sibling from them, before he was even conceived, and that night his parents had been grimly preparing themselves to say goodbye to him. More than half of all sparklings born in the south were expected to die before they could even reach the youngling phase, and those that made it to that cutoff, only a third would fight their way to adulthood. Children died from illness, injury, and starvation every klik in Kaon. They died from preventable illness. They died from treatable afflictions. But the care was simply unaffordable or flat out unavailable, so there was seldom anything to be done for them aside from a feeble prayer to Primus for mercy.
His sparklings would never have to experience that. Their lives would never be threatened by sickness. His twin sons would always have access to the very best medical care, and they'd always have a fine, talented, and trustworthy medic at their beck and call, ready to run to their sides at the sign of even a single sniffle. They'd have three square meals a day, every day, of the highest quality and prepared just for them for optimal nutrition, to ensure they grew up healthy and strong.
Primus, how he wished he could just be happy for them.
They would never want for anything. They would always have fuel to eat, and a safe, warm place to sleep. They would get a full, well rounded education, and learn everything from history and mathematics to politics and strategy. They would never be whipped, collared, or chained. They would never be branded. They would never be sold. They were not born slaves, as their mother was, they were no ones property: but they were no more free than he was.
"What have I done, Soundwave?" The whisper comes out husky, and grievous. His children would spend their entire lives within these walls, just as Damus had. They'd be assigned teachers and tutors, staff and minders, and they would be sculpted. Chiselled, molded by their environment and the people around them.
His children would never be able to freely drink their energon. It would always have to be tested for poison first. His gaze slides back to the eldest. A little warbird, sharing in his alt mode. The Senate would despise him. The nobles would despise him. How long before the first attempt on his life? His sparkling is entirely unbothered by the weight of his identity, entirely ignorant to it: swaddled tightly in his wrappings with one tiny servo peaking out, suckling the tip of one finger as he slumbered peacefully. He was a beautiful sparkling, with disproportionately large yellow optics and round, pudgy cheeks still soft with squishy polymer and protometal. He's smiling in his sleep, and it's Optimus's smile. He doesn't deserve the sordid fate awaiting him. Neither of them do.
His thoughts swirl further and further, deeper and darker toward something worrying, and Soundwave finally steps forward to touch his shoulder. "Lord Me-"
"I've birthed them into another cage, Soundwave," he sounds so hollow touching his younger son's face. "They'll have no freedom here. None. I swore, I wouldn't-"
Soundwave remembers it well. His amica so vehemently hated their shackles. They all did, but he was the loudest and most defiant about it. He'd sworn to never kindle sparklings of his own, not so long as they'd be born into a collar that matched his. Now... his sparklings are here and he loves them more than anything. And how did he express that love? By birthing them into a gilded cage they could never escape from. Their wings clipped from the moment they came into the world, cleaned and swaddled and tucked neatly into their golden cage. There, they'd remain forever, huddled together behind the bars and forever forced to watch everything outside pass them by. They'd never know what was taken from them, so they'd never miss it. The bars of their cage might even be invisible to their little eyes.
But to Megatron, the bars will always be there, a sick reminder of his failure, and he doubts he'll ever stop seeing their strangling grip wrapped around his sparklings.

Press f for Megs and the bitties 😔 they've traded one prison for another, and though his little ones have escaped the dangers of Kaon's slums, they've only inherited several new dangers to replace them. Dangers that... he's unsure that he can protect them from.

Mech pilots sometimes forget to breathe in between missions.
When linked to their mechs, the pilot's vitals and basic functions are automated by the onboard AI. It's easier this way, the techs say. Less distractions = a stronger link. But as a pilot logs more and more hours, their body begins to forget how to regulate its own systems when outside the mech.
Breathing has been found to be one of the more consistent trouble areas. The subconscious expects the ventilator to pick up the slack and it moves on to other tasks, simply forgetting to breathe. We've been told by pilots that this is an extremely distressing and sometimes debilitating experience. We've advised any pilots experiencing these issues to report to medical personnel for instruction on manual breathing exercises.
This is a known problem and R&D has unsuccessfully been looking into a way to maintain linkage efficiency without the side effects. Sure, it's a mild quality-of-life issue, but it's a small price to pay for optimization.

Hello, I'm fairly new to tumblr so I apologize if I break any social faux pas, and of course, please do not feel that you have to respond if this is in any way privileged information.
I'm looking to get into resin casting in order to recreate bionicle masks in different colors, and I'm wondering if you have any tips or tricks you would like to share with me? If not I completely understand, this is a source of monetary income for you, and I would scarcely go into a pizza shop asking how they made their special sauce so that I could make it at home.
The big thing I'm struggling with is how best to orient the mask/suspend it in the silicone. Currently I place a toothpick in the stud hole but that doesn't seem to be optimal for filling the mask mold all the way. I'm thinking of 3d printing a special stick to hold up the mask to allow resin to flow more evenly to the different edges, but I was just wondering how you combatted that issue.
Another improvement to my process I was thinking of making was "injecting" the resin into the mold with a plastic syringe in order to penetrate deeper into the mold. Currently my molds (I've made two so far, each of middling quality), have only one fill-hole, and two or so air escape holes that I've poked in after the fact with a needle.
Obviously my mold-making needs a lot of work, but if you have any tips or tricks on the matter I'd be more than happy to hear them :D

First off, hi! Welcome to tungle. I very much do have tips and tricks, and I'm happy to share! The point of my work is to make masks (and eventually more parts) accessible to people in as many colours as possible, so restricting information wouldn't be in good faith imo.
Mask mold making is an intricate process how I do it - which I've been told is "over complicated" and "a lot of extra trouble" or "probably not using the best equipment" lol, but I'll share what's worked for me nonetheless.

First off, I embed my masks in clay on a sufficiently sized plate. The clay here is a really rough job (I don't wanna spend all the time fixing it up for this photo, so enjoy some real WIPs) so ideally you'd smooth it out to be flush with the edges of the mask and the plate, little to no overhang or pockets. (Make sure the clay is sulfur-free!)

I then add on my mold box (made of old/dirty bricks sealed on both sides with painters tape) and fill with silicone. This of course only makes one half of the mold, so we gotta then take the bottom off and the clay out to make the rest. Another wall layer is added to the flipped mold, and the entire thing is sprayed with a mold release so the next layer of Silicone doesn't stick.

For the injection point, I currently do two per mask for the sake of Metru Mask blends. These are done with Lego bars, like lances or antennae. Advantages of a Lego mold box is reusing the same vents and sprues in configurable positions for any mask. Speaking of...

I also make a LOT of air sprues so bubbles don't get trapped. These are using toothpicks, and placed at any notable points of elevation. At minimum, I'll put 4 per mask. Afterwards, pour the next layer of Silicone and take it all out! Definitely don't poke air holes to avoid bubbles, the rubber will maintain its shape too well and the air won't truly escape.
Regarding injection, I use syringes! I try to inject somewhat slowly mostly to reduce material waste, but also to reduce pressure (and thus deformation) inside the mold. Rubber bands can only do so much to hold the mold shut, and at this scale + this angle there's not much else to do to keep the mold firmly shut.
Of course, the biggest tip I should always start with is SAFETY. Make sure you're doing this in a sufficiently safe location - no bedrooms or kitchens! These are harmful chemicals, and I've experienced the respiratory harms and chemical burns firsthand. Gloves, ventilation, labcoat, and respirator are must-haves.
