sorry, this is gonna be a long post. yesterday i posted a survey with a list of polls regarding Supernatural, and it was SO much fun. I got over 300 responses, which was A LOT to sort through for the short responses, but I’ve gathered all the “data” and here it is! Good Sport by fireinsideforfun (you’ve probs already read or at least seen everyone freaking out about A Rational Choice, and whilst that is obvs amazing it’s also a chunky boy and a WIP. this is a ~12k one shot and it’s, as the summary says, a sleepy fic. also it’s amazing. ft. plausible misunderstandings, bed sharing but weird, believable characterisation which leans slightly differently to a lot of established fanon… aka many of my favourite things)

weed, philosophy, and more talking than expected by @johnisntevendead (listen, everything by this author is stellar and i soooo hope they return to the fandom some day. this two-shot is one of my absolute fucking faves! It’s claiming to be, per the notes, ‘a self-indulgent excuse for my pot-smoking ass to write Beth Boland getting high’. ft. plausibly stoned brio, excellent characterisation, H Y D R A T I O N (my forever kink), callbacks, unique smut, gorgeous and situationally-appropriate prose… aka many of my favourite things)

Y por fin volvere a verte by @septiembur​ (you’ve presumably already read Heavenly Hot Tubs and Get to be Mine… and if not you probs wanna get on that, the former invented hot tub brio long before the show and the latter is fake-dating heaven! but i cannot rec this story hard enough. It was, per the notes, ‘born out my need to process the finale’ which is both evident and relatable.  ft. angst, plausible post-s2 resolution, amazing characterisation, saying a lot with a little… aka many of my favourite things)

Simpler Times by @ohmisterjapan (you’ve probably read or at least seen recced the Power Struggle series and Maybe you’re my fantasy, all of which are amazing. This story absolutely blows me away, it’s set, as the notes say, ‘in a version of the world where Beth is a little more sexually empowered early on and Rio is a little less respecting of women‘. ft. scorching smut, believable characterisation which lists to the side of established fanon, lil Hints as to what’s going on, a melding of Beth and Rio’s povs, saying a lot with a little… aka many of my favourite things)

War in My Mind by mintletters16 (everything by this author is great, and I sooo hope they return to the fandom. this story fucks me up!!! as the summary says: ‘Beth mourns a loss and finds comfort in an unlikely source’. ft. A N G S T, Hints as to what’s going on, strong Beth characterisation which maybe leans slightly differently to established fanon, saying a lot with a little…aka many of my favourite things)

and another five i love (and happen to have been thinking about recently, and which, I think, deserve more hype):

(one) more time by mydearmoon (this author has several great GG stories! i absolutely love the cranky foodie rio pov here, as well as the long-suffering Mick vibes, and the Resolution! it all feels super in-character as well as a fun, fresh take on rio pov)

why storms are named after people by @veronicamarz (another author i so hope returns to the fandom one day!! i snapped and went back through the early pages on ao3 to find this again cos i wanted to re-read it and i’m so glad i did! you know the quote, yeah? buckle in for some a n g s t !)

we suck young blood by sylvianorth (i bumped into this while searching for the above, and again i am so glad i did!!! the last 3 tags on this story are: ‘cunnilingus’, ‘beth putting her foot down’ and ‘zen koans’, cannot fathom what more you could possibly need to know tbh?!)

Centrefold Adjacent by @betterhomesandhobbits (everyone’s been hard reccing the goodest boy, or as i like to call it: ‘blatantly copying me’, but i would definitely suggest checking out more by this author! this fic doesn’t contain dog pov but it’s a LOT of fun. here’s the summary: ‘Rio finds something extremely interesting at a yard sale that gives him a clue that maybe Elizabeth might not have always been such a good girl’ yeeeahhh.)

Five Times He Knew What She Was Thinking, and One Time He Didn’t by @joeyjoeylee (i feel like meg mighta just recced this, but so?! this is great rio pov, and it includes!!! him thinking!!! that beth!!! putting up!!! a stop sign!!!! in the middle of the night!!!! is weird!!!!!!!!!!! AS IT SHOULD, THANKS. also it’s a WIP (part 1 of 2) and i’m so hoping part 2 arrives some day!!)

Hey, same anon as last night asking what you love most about Jason (: Follow up question, if you’re comfortable: I’ve always preferred Jasper over Percabeth, and it’s hard to in this fandom. I don’t want to incorrectly guess that you do too, but if you do, can you give some reasons why? I love them so much and just think they’re very different. If you don’t want to answer because of potential hate, that’s okay too (:

wow anon you’re 2 for 2 now you wanna ask me about JASIPER how wild….looks like you enjoy reading essays, i’m gonna put a ‘keep reading’ cause i know this is going to be long !! ((also i’m gonna try and steer clear of comparing jasiper to percabeth, i love both couples for very different reasons so i don’t want to pit them against each other))

honestly there’s something about the jasiper dynamic that really gets me going. i think it’s the fact that these are two idiot losers who are so in love with one another, maybe it’s the fact that they’re both characters whom everyone expects so much from (jason ((as i’ve mentioned before)) is supposed to be the leader who knows exactly what to do in any given situation, and piper is supposed to be the beautiful lovely daughter of aphrodite who can control anyone and act calm and take the lead in any situation she’s presented) and the fact they are the total opposite of that, i stan. instead we are given two deeply flawed individuals (piper is so new to the whole demigod thing, she doesn’t know what to do and she looks to others a lot for the right answer or for the right thing to do and jason doesn’t know what he’s doing half the time in HoO you can see he’s always willing to give up the leadership position to annabeth because he thinks she knows more and he believes that she knows what’s she’s doing and she probably has the answer to everything, he’s so willing to let her take the lead because it means he won’t have to make the hard decisions. Neither of them wants to be in the spotlight they both just want to be…normal (as normal as a demigod can be that is) and i think i really love that about them. 

i also love the fact they are so open with one another, the communication between the two of them???? honestly we stan (maybe it’s unrealistic that two 16 year olds would ever be that open and that honest with one another…but it really shows how different they are compared to some other couples) that scene in BoO where jason goes to piper’s room and tells her that he’s sacred about the future, he’s scared he’s going to make the wrong decision, and he’s scared that he’ll end up like his mom, that scene really sold me on jasiper (as if i wasn’t sold before) that scene they’re so raw and open with each other, jason basically just told this girl that he’s not perfect (despite what everyone thinks) and he’s so scared about this upcoming fight with gaea he doesn’t know what to do. and the fact that piper accepts this from him whole heartedly and tells him with as much certainty as she can that he is a good guy, he’s as human and as flawed as any of the people on this ship, and when it comes down to it he knows right and wrong in the end. im sorry that was a lot but they’re just so real and so open with one another, he never tries to hide his feelings from her and she’s always willing and open to him and giving him her all. they don’t pretend or hide from one another (despite them being so new to the whole relationship thing) it’s nice to see and it makes me fall in love with them all over again. 

now…the break up….oh man THE BREAKUP. as any jasiper fan i was devastated to hear they broke up i honestly was. but when i actually sat down and read tbm and why piper broke up with him, man if it didn’t just make me fall in love with them more. piper needed space from him, from their relationship, from basically anything connecting her to being a demigod because she just needed..time to process everything she had just been through. she loves jason she really does but she needed to figure out who she was and what her purpose was (which she 100% had the right to) but the fact that jason was like totally fine with the whole thing, the fact that he let her step away from their relationship so she could figure out what she needed and who she was….honestly i love. jason knows better than anyone else what it means to feel lost and to feel like you don’t belong, always searching for the part of you that constantly feels missing. when he met piper she was able to help him find that part of himself, and at the end of the day he couldn’t do that for her. and that’s fine he understood that he was willing to be apart from her (although that must’ve killed him tbh) so that she could find herself and understand who she was, and if tbm ended different i’m sure these two would’ve gotten back together at some point. that was a lot but what i’m saying reiterates back to my original point, they understand each other so well, they know what the other needs even if said person doesn’t know what that exactly is. 

i’m sure i left some stuff out but this is what comes to mind when i think of jasiper! i think jasiper is just real and a captivating couple, i have been sold on them ever since the lost hero when we were first introduced to the pair. i’ve loved both characters separately and i love them both when they’re together. there’s just something about them that really gets me going. 

i’m sorry this was so much if you don’t read this i won’t be mad, thank you again anon for indulging me and asking me about my ultimate fave ship the only person i rlly talk to about this is tiff so you know what anon get off anon and message me!! let’s talk about jason and piper and why we love them both so much!! :-)

Honestly this is just a personal opinion but I genuinely believe that opportunistic men that use their fame to sleep with women aren’t good people.They just see women as objects (it doesn’t matter whether consensual or not) and are no different then your average misogynist fuckboy, they just have influence and might feel even entitled or smug that they might get to sleep with whomever they want because of fame.  Like I could talk about sex positiveity  for women all day but no matter how I spin it, at the end of the day I know men aren’t gonna give a flying fuck about my sexual freedom  and just see my own potential consent to  as convenient for them to get some pu**y. ( ANYWAYS this kinda feels like I went on a tangent I just wanted to address the fact that people will let anything fly when it comes to women being objectified under the guise of consent ~ ) 

Also another thing is that I find it really weird as hell whenever people talk about idols sexual habi- oh wait a minute *clears throat* , I mean HYPOTHETICAL sexual habits as if they know them and could actually decipher how they would act in a said situation out of like....them acting sexy or their personality..... AND they speak so presumptuously  and un-ironically about these things and it blows my mind. Like, for example,  just because I’m in a certain age and can act sexy for like some skit or dance doesn’t mean a person knows FOR CERTIAN any shit about my sex life, beliefs,kinks , sexual habits etc, you name it.... And what really bothers me is when ANYONE acts like they KNOW better than anyone else about ANYTHING related to an idols sexuality . By this I mean people on the extremes that say vulgar and disturbing shit like op above by talking down on people and saying fans are naive~~ and that idols probs get lots of puss*Y !!!111111 to the other end of of the spectrum where there are people  who think that oppa/unnie are innocent virgins that have never had any sexual thoughts. Both are problematic and just should stop talking about people’s sex life as if they know them.  ( and that includes obsessing over somethings sexual orientation and saying they KNOW when someone is XY or z because they fit into a stereotype....even though people like to preach that you should’t assume orientation because of these things????) 

I’ve had something similar happen to me and I can tell you that 1. They were dead fucking wrong about their assumption and 2- It felt invasive as hell and made me uncomfortable, plus....... even if they were right it just feels really off-putting having someone MATTER OF FACTLY talk about something sexual related to you as if they know shit about you ,when they don’t.

Lastly, I wanted to point out this bad habit of kpop fans projecting onto their faves all these things related to sexuality. I’m really bad at explaining this but it goes beyond just thirsting on their faves ...., it goes into territory that seems really objectifying to me where sometimes a fandom will push this narrative (im not sure if I’m using the right word) or characterization of an idols personality just to suit their sexual fantasies or wishful thinking. I’ve seen this in fanfiction and from personal experience have been in a fandom that distorted an idols image to suite this hyper-sexualized cute UWU baby boy that is simultaneously infantilized ( which is wierd and ANOTHER topic for another day....) and it really disturbs me to the point where I can’t look at some of said idols material in peace. And I know I’m not making a mountain out of a molehole when it comes to associating how fandom chooses to collectively present an idol via fiction (especially sexually) because it does have an effect on reality. Like there has been actual studies on how fictional portrayal can affect reality ( i saw a post but i don’t have a list/links.) Also I’ve legitimately seen people say shit like “ I thought x member was like *insert personality trait* because of how he was portrayed in fan-fiction but found out that he is an actual sweetheart irl” and other things to that extent. Also posts joking around how so and so are portrayed like “x” in fanfic when they are actually ‘different’ in reality. It just makes me think that it’s really telling on how how a lot of times people will use idols as these characters that they can project their kinks on and sexualize and how much indulgence i see in this is iffy.  

( and now this is just extra and shady as hell ngl and just some thought I’ve had....but I also  always find it interesting how people on this site will talk shit about fuckboys saying they ain’t shit etc but then project that very same fuckboy image that they say they hate on some random ass idol JUST because X idol ACTs flirty and confident for fan-service like??? and its even all the more interesting considering how idols mostly have this wholesome/pure~~ image but kpop fans like taking that and doing the most, just completely deconstructing it  ... bonus points if the ones projecting the fuckboy image onto an idol are also the ones telling and insisting to other fans they are stupid for believing  that idols are pure~ Like why do these type of fans latch onto kpop idols that as a whole have a “clean” image just to do the complete opposite and insist otherwise??? Like I makes me wonder... if male kpop idols DIDN’T have a nearly squeaky clean image from the get go, would they have spent all this time fawning over them??? and projecting this “ X idol is secretly a fuckboy sexual fantasy” the way the do now?? Like why do people get so ecstatic over the idea of idols being fuckboys when they could just like ....entertain the average ass that they probably have dealt with in  in their daily lives???) 

(anyways this turned long but these thought are all connected somehow but my another reason for typing this is because if fans are just there to just potentially fuck idols it kinda reinforces the idea that idols are just famous because teenage girls go ape shit over heartthrobs or whatever and not like , cuz the idols are talented and people enjoy there performances???? also the whole standing in line for the opportunity to fuck an idol just goes hand in hand with the whole being a fan that thinks they have a chance to date their idol and is delulu ( actually this is worse yuck).... and i definalty wouldnt want people looking at me like I only enjoy kpop cuz i want my favs dick because kpop fans get viewed in a bad light already.....
