now that my work has a microsoft plan instead of emails on a server built twenty years ago out of what i can only assume was a flash drive powered by a rat running in a wheel, i've been trying to encourage using teams to transfer files instead of printing them out and taking them to people's desks

(because some people (💅Coworker) have a tendency to insist that i never gave her the piece of paper)

so 💅Coworker is kicking up a fuss about how a chat client is too complicated and she doesn't understand why i can't just request bank transfers by handing her a post-it, and insisting that she doesn't understand how she's supposed to know she has new messages

and i'm like 'it flashes orange until you read it'

and she's like 'well mine didn't do that'

and i'm like 'huh weird, i will send a message to test'

and then every time i passed her desk for the next three hours i saw the little taskbar icon sitting there, orange, unclicked

Monetizing Accessibility

I wrote a review awhile ago for an app that I heavily relied on due to my dyslexia and TBI— Speechify. Its a text-to-speech reader that I can take photos of text books or signs and have them read to me. I used it plenty. You can take as many photos as you want, upload them, and have it read to you. Well..... thats what you used to be able to do. Then I updated the app and tah dah the main feature is behind a paywall!!! I can upload 3 files (photo/photoset) only! And if I want more I have to pay THIS fucking much:

So I updated my app review from 5 stars to 1

Then a long time later I got this email:

"One time discount" on something that was fucking free. Its the most basic feature. There were plenty of additional features to pay for and ads prior. Now the ENTIER goddamn app, including the absolute most basic function, above 3 files is behind a $140 paywall. I don't want 90% of the features just keeping files like I could before. Its not even a one time fee; its a subscription. As if my TBI and dyslexia only lasts a year. Not to mention I already deleted my entire library.

I fucking hate how goddamn expensive being disabled it is. The email is an insult.

My Gmail account which I had for over 10 years now had been terminated by stupid ass Google on the first day of my vacation and now the rest of the vacation is ruined.....

It really sucks because it had so many important stuff for me in it, for example my Youtube account is completely gone and I don't think I can remember all the Youtubers I was subscribed too or the 100's of songs that I had on the multiple playlists I made.

My google drive is also gone with so many important documents, including this long "to watch/to read" list I made with 100's of movies, shows, books, comics and manga that I planned to start or continue and again, I don't think I can remember all of them.

All my social media ARE still here........but I'm worried that if I sign out of them I wouldn't be able to sign in again, so I tried to change my Email address on them but they all said that they sent a confirmation link to my (now deleted) Email in order to fully change the Email which I obviously can't get access to.......so does anyone know what I can do about that?

yeah idk maybe just consider that all your favorite fics were wips at one point and one writer liked it enough to spend hours turning that wip into a finished fic and I doubt they were writing just to write an ending

like that fic did not emerge fully formed as a multi chapter novel length anon divergent masterpiece on ao3 one day!!! even if a fic is all posted at once, ONE person knew it and loved it as a wip or it never would have been posted at all!!!

like come on!!! think about fic writers as people who are experiencing their wip more than you ever will no matter how many times you read it and I promise the concept of liking a wip will NOT blow your mind
