Been thinking about Orclipse… he’s so very forward and grabby, had me on the edge of my seat. Now if THIS guy had four arms… it would be over. @naffeclipse you write a lovely eclipse in every iteration of him <333 shaking you around <33 please go read Apex Polarity it is delightful.

@naffeclipse I am beside myself with obsession over Apex Polarity. Over the past two days I’ve reread chapter 11 five times only to start the whole fic over from scratch and choke out two fanarts besides.

Your writing…I’m literally speechless. The intensity in which you write Orca!Eclipse and his obsessive tendencies tickles my brain in a way that no other piece of media has tickled before. I’m low key worried I’ll never read anything that good ever again because I’m just so obsessed.

I drew another piece first that’s a bit of a spoiler for the most recent chapter (as of now) that I’m less satisfied with but I’ll put under the cut as well as some closeups from this first piece.

I strive to write as well as you, I’m going to be vibrating with excitement until the next chapter unless I rocket into the sun first.

Day 9: Snow Another one thats technically only half finished since I only give myself an hour and a half per drawing (most spent trying to fix the background ngl). I definitely need to return to this idea when i have more time to spare. Inspired by @naffeclipse's Apex Polarity (which i was reading before i started this). My brain went to Orclipse heading back underwater to hunt and y/n trying to snap a picture of them but only catches his dorsel fin. I tried to have their shadow under the water? but i dont think it shows through.

This was actually very recent and happened in my archipelago! Nike is a well known whale around here.

Though one thing to note is that Nike didn’t drive the Transient orcas off of the kill. They still ate it .but what Nike did was just continuously surface in and around the group. So basically, this was Intimidation.

Normally, this behavior against the orcas by the humpbacks irritates the shit outta me. The orcas have to eat. Howeverrrrr… the Transient orcas are a bunch of brutal and voyeuristic fucks who probably deserve a little bullying fpfpdpfpdlld I love them but My Word

So I just learned about something interesting and kinda bonkers.

So there was this pod of Orcas hunting an old Minkwhale (I think it was a Minkwhale) and two more Orca pods joined the hunt. Which ment that there werer 18 Orcas on this hunt and it was successfull. They killed the whale and start eating it. Cool right? WELL

Here comes Nike, Nike is a humpback wahle and he heard the hunt and guess what he did. He went over and TOOK ON 18 ORCAS, ALONE! What a mad man. He won by just reacking havoc and stopping the Orcas from eating. It's thought He did this out of pure spite.

Can you imagen Humpback!Y/n hearing the hunt of a whole bunch of Orcas and going "hold my shrimp". Mean while Orca!Eclipse is just like "honey, No. Those are to many, get your blubby fluke back here. Your not messing with other Orcas."

He's partially concerned about theri wellbeing and partially jealous that Y/N snatches food from other Ocras.

Oh my gosh, that's incredible!

Humpback!Y/N rolls up their metaphorical sleeves while on their way to ruin some orcas dinner. Eclipse is tugging on their arm (he wants so bad to keep them there but he simply can't hold back his much-larger-than-him siren spouse) but they're already stirring up the water with their intention to make sure none of the killer whales gets to snack on this brutal kill.

Eclipse would be on edge about Y/N taking on several pods but end up watching in awe, then growing a bit green-eyed at the food stealing that's not involving him. He'd wait until Y/N chases off the last orca before approaching. Y/N's shoulders are heaving but they're so jazzed by the victory that they brush against Eclipse and ask if he's hungry. Y/N says that the whale will rot and go to waste, and they won't eat it, but he might as well--since it's here and so is he and... yeah.

Eclipse would teasingly ask if Y/N intends to run him off too the second he starts snacking but Y/N just grins and tells him to hurry before they change their mind.

“Apex Polarity” by @naffeclipse is actually specially designed to be impossible for me to be normal about. I’ve studied orcas for 20+ years, so you mix my favorite species with Eclipse??? Oh lawdy we are in trouble.

Did you know?! You can tell the sex of an orca based on the shape of the white marks on their underside (males have a longer white lower divot and females have a black heart shape on their lower divot) and by the size and shape of its dorsal and pectoral fins. A male orca’s dorsal fin can stand up to 6ft tall! You can also ID individual orcas by their unique saddle patches behind their dorsal fins.

While I didn’t reference the saddle patch, I based his body on the male orca voted the most handsome in the Salish sea for 2023: J27 Blackberry 🥰

Happy day, @naffeclipse !! (right click each for better quality fghgdf) Apex Polarity had me in a choke-hold and ough ;o; the ending was so intense and then so lovingly soft, I knew I wanted to draw it as soon as I was done reading. 3 days after starting it, here we go! It got away from me a bit at the end cause it was just meant to be a sketch comic but heehoo Thank you for such a lovely piece of fanfic!! <3 <3

Welp, with that in mind, here is Orca!Eclipse in a fishbowl!

This is part of a brainrot I had with my friend @roboticsuccubus83 that began with "what if orca!Eclipse but tiny?" And it's slowly becoming its own au based on Apex Polarity

Because turns out that many scenes look really funny when he is roughly 8 inches long...
