Y'all
I just noticed this--
Tumblr media
When we first see Ryan (unofficially), we see a crow along with him.
Tumblr media
Crows tend to mean a few things, but this is the main thing that I'm looking at
Tumblr media
Isn't it a bit funny? How (FAST PASS SPOILERS TO EPISODE 76!!!)
his first appearance on screen is specifically with a crow... and when we officially meet him, he's this hotheaded guy who just says anything anytime. However, the minute of said thing does end up being followed up, he becomes unsure, questioning if this is morally right.
Now, with the most recent fast pass episode (76), it truly comes together. He's giving advice to Alex about warning the kids, and even going as far as giving Alex his phone number on a phone so he could explain more, meaning he could help Alex more.
This right here, is a change. Ryan has an untold transformation from evil to good. He was meant to always be a good person, he just needed a change of heart.
I guess you could say it was destined for him to always betray Maverick and the cranes for the better good.
It's really hard to put in words, but I strongly believe that crow meant a change in morals. It seems like it was the case in terms of the newest episode.
What are y'alls thoughts?

A story about a crane.
When I was a little kid, I got really into origami. My elementary school library had a wall of art books and every week I'd check out one about origami and take it home to practice. I got good at turning printer paper into squares, and I'd sit at the dining room table trying to figure out all the different folds. I mastered the square base and the kite base and even the bird base, and I made lots of little animals! I'm sure I still have zebra-printed origami paper somewhere, a gift from a relative I think.
Despite my best efforts, I never could figure out how to fold a crane as a kid. My little fingers couldn't handle all the thick inverted folds, and I'd inevitably get frustrated and go back to making something more fun (my favorite projects were modular ones; I also folded a million of those jumping frogs). I eventually moved onto another art form (I think I was into mosaics after that) and have hardly touched origami in the 10+ years since.
---
This past weekend, I took the train into the next town over to visit a few shops there. I've been wanting to try out origami again, and I kept an eye out for origami paper at the bookstore and art supply store I visited, but no luck (the stores were lovely though! I bought a couple books I don't need and some stamping supplies that I do need).
I stopped to get a bagel and a coffee and entirely missed the hourly train back home. Chagrined, I ducked into a nearby gift shop to get out of the cold and kill some time before the next train. The shop was this lovely little Japanese-owned place, packed with greeting cards, and jigsaw puzzles, and earrings made by local artists, and a back wall with the most beautiful ceramics and carved chopsticks. And origami paper!!! I hadn't known this shop was here until then, how lucky, right?
I picked out this really pretty pack:

When I brought it up to pay (along with a cat greeting card for my mom), the nice lady working the checkout counter was excited to tell me that the designs on the paper are based on traditional kimono patterns, and she showed me how to fold a little origami pouch! She also gave me a bag because she could tell I was struggling to carry all my purchases (I'm not used to New Jersey yet and I always forget to bring a reusable bag with me), and slipped a couple chocolates in there when I wasn't looking, and she sent me on my way.
Today I sat down, looked up a tutorial, and finally fumbled my way through...
Tumblr media
...my first paper crane.

Thinking of starting a TikTok for my collection of tiny origami cranes. I have ~10k of them, and I think they deserve the world.
Tumblr media
Above is a pretty standard-sized crane, made from a 5/8 in square piece of (recycled!) paper. It is about 5/8 in from wingtip to wingtip.
Tumblr media
This is my collection of green tiny cranes. They number roughly 1,500.
Tumblr media
Here is what I call the Nursery. I put all the teensy ones here. They are about 3/8 of an inch from wingtip to wingtip.
Tumblr media
And in this bottle there are 150 green fellas! /gn
I’ve been making tiny cranes for upwards of ten years now. Lmk if you would follow an account about these little babies!

Theory
Mr. Thomas is asymptomatic.
Tumblr media
Look at that face. He's tired as hell, but also looks pretty fine. The only symptom that can physically show is the tired eyes, only because that's something that is normal. You can't hide that. Everything else is hidden. He's been in the phantom dimension, probably still is being sent. He's a test subject.
Tumblr media
Unrelated but I got curious and searched up if a red tie symbolizes anything.
...
Hm.
(Very, very minor fast pass spoiler, just a name)
Back to the whole asymptomatic thing, it feels like he isn't aware of the fact that he's also going into the phantom dimension. Thomas probably thinks the dialogue he was required to say was just to convince the kids to trust him long enough, but it could be possible that Maverick did that to toy with him. He's over here laughing in his crane throne, fully aware of the fact that he practically told Thomas what was happening to him, and yet he has no clue of it.
I don't have much to back this theory up, just the mere "it feels right."

I haven’t actually shared it yet here because I forgot but I really really really love making origami cranes.
like I will sit down and fold them for hours when I feel like it because they’re so cute and I love them !!
I’ve made around 300+ cranes (including the exact 200 I’ve counted for a project I’m working on) And the smallest one I’ve made is the size of a grain of rice. It’s in the picture :D Also the biggest one pictured above is my favorite one that I’ve made. I just think it’s the prettiest and it was made 5 years ago.
I’m starting to work on cranes made out of odd materials, like fortune cookie fortunes or jolly rancher wrappers or shiny wrapping paper.
so yeah just wanted to share, I’d consider it a passion ⛹️⛹️
feel free to ask stuff, idk if I’d be able to answer precisely but I’ll try !

Okay so I know that like no one's probably gonna see this, but if anyone does, I need some insight on this.
So I'm gay, and also an idiot, but with my two most recent crushes, I've gotten into the habit of giving them origami cranes that I make. They're easy to make, they make me happy, and I like giving them to people. With the first crush, she gave me gum wrapper hearts multiple times, and said she'd put the origami cranes on like a fucking shrine. Second crush, there's been two days where I've given her an origami crane, and today I gave her 3 (I was really bored in lunch). The first day, she gave me a gum wrapper heart (just like the first crush). She's said she loves the cranes and is going to put them on her shelf.
Today in lunch, I was informed by my friend that it's not common for gum wrapper hearts to be platonic, and he definetly didn't think they were supposed to be in these cases, and now I'm confused because my dumbass was entirely convinced that I was just being a dumb gay simp, and they were just being platonically happy with my cranes and their gum wrapper hearts.
Does anyone know if I'm just being Dumb and Gay (and thinking about it too much), or if I'm being Dumb and Gay (and my friend is entirely right)
