One thing that Fabio cherished from the Village he grew up in was his talent in creating things on his own. Bracelets, wood carving, crafting... all was passed down from his Parents and siblings to him... and even if he himself was a shy stuttering mess, he was happy to work on things to show and express what he feels about others... over time he grew attached to the ones he hung out with but most to Melanie and Dumah, who in itself seemed inseperable at first glance... so he wanted to tie their connections together... and came up with a bracelet that could link 3 pieces of a flower together. He spend many days collecting just the right material to match Dumah and Melanie's eyes.

Even if he learned Flowers do not have the same meaning as where he grew up.. he knew Melanie loved them.... and so it was the perfect idea and... a hope that one day he could actually make up the courage to ask them both for an actual eloping.

With a nervous flop of his ears he made his way to Night Raven college that day... it was rare he went outside of RSA without having a task from Osyron or someone to accompany him but... he had to take this step himself. And eventually he did arrive at the courtyard, lucky enough he found the two together standing and chatting.

"Oh Fabio... what are you doing here?"

Blushing red the Rabbit man stepped forward opening his hands and bowing lightly.

"I m-made these for you two."

Dumah picked the two bracelets from his hand with a light soft look to him and helped Melanie put hers on to as Fabio slowly opens his eyes again the two wore them with a smile but then he offered his hand so the three pieces could click together.

"You put a lot of thought into this."

"I-I... want us to stick together... so... this is my way of telling you two... no matter what... I want t-to be at your side."

Melanie grew red and covered her mouth, tears welling up as Dumah and Fabio put one arm around her into a hug... it was warm, comfortable... as the boys left a small kiss on Melanies head before leaning back.

"I am sure we will both be enough to keep her happy, right?"

"Yes... I w-want us three... to have a nice future together."

With a soft smile the group left together... even if Fabio couldn't stay for that long from his school he wanted to make the most of it.

Another gig Neon Velocity was part of was finished now... the drowning cheers of the fans drowning out. Even if Eikichi knew he wasn't the most popular of the group and many of the fans only had eyes for Bengal... he knew at least one person was excited to see him off all people.

Lucille was already waiting in the hallway thanks to backstage passes with a grin as he wanted to be smooth so he pulled her along the corner to the dress up room and kabedoned her to the wall.

"Eiki~ You missed me that much?"

"No I just wanted you all to myself for now."

His hands locked with hers pressing her with her back to the wall as they exchanged a kiss...

"Say Luci... I wonder if you would have been interested in me even without the Band."

"Probably just would have been more harder to find you.~"

"And if I eventually quit."

"Even then I still would." She cupped his face and ruffles his hair.

"Maybe I worry too much... given I already pushed my sister away from me... I guess it lingers."

A small kiss of Lucille softened him up.

"You are a moron at times but a cute one."

"Hey-"

Eventually she let go if his face and pushed a kiss back on his cheek.

"I just want to be honest... soo about that planned after party?~"

"We still got time... and I do wanna still enjoy placing my love onto you, Luci."

"Sounds like a good deal to me."

And so the two vanished into one of the dressing cabinets just in case to not get interrupted for now... sharing some more kisses.

It was like a dream or a Scenario from her book... thanks to a quiz in a Magazine Lucille and Carol had won an exclusive Photoshoot with the boys of the Band PRiNCES... and on her way in the train to the set while Luci was fangirling and hyping up... Carol's heart raced as Scenarios played in her head while the two listened to their last album.

Eventually the train stopped and they were led by bodyguards around the studio... the theme was quite worse on her brain too... lovers at sea... just her and Lucille having to play lovers for the members was... quite enough to get her nervous... even moreso that she had the luck to do her shoot with Sterling who had a much more calm smile at her.

"No need to be nervous... we did meet before."

"I-I know... I just worry to mess it up for you."

Her face was deep red... making her feelings quite obvious while she got suddenly brought back by the noise of Cactus keeping Lucille at bay and her tripping over something of the set... so the Kameraman called her and Sterling over first instead.

She tried to calm but feeling his hand held around her waist she couldn't help but swoon about it... she admired him for so long and to be this close and act like this... she would keep it in her dreams for a while.

"Could you hold her like a dance?"

"Of course."

But the next suggestion of the Kameramann gave her quite the heart struck feeling... Sterling pulled her into an gentle embrace... almost like a tango between just the two of them... worse his face inched closer and closer to her lips.... Lucille in the back gasped excited as Carol felt herself cling on his shirt to ground herself... red as his lips hovered over hers almost for a kiss... and how she wished he would have continued...

Later Lucille took over with Cactus as Carol sat down with a ton of water slurped down her throat... red... breathing heavy given the tension she just experience as she felt suddenly a hand on her shoulder.

"Would you still want a kiss?"

"W-What?"

Sterling sat down next to her but instead he placed a small kiss on her hand.

"Sadly I am only allowed to give you one like this."

"N-no it's all good just... nervous cause I am a big fan and all."

"Just a fan? Don't you wanna be more to me?"

Her face grew redder looking to his eyes... gulping for air.

"Just teasing~ You are cute like this."

"Don't play with my heart like this. But... t-thank you..."

"You did well during the shoot but I still would love to meet up in the Library and chat with you a little more instead... like last time."

"Y-you can... I actually planned to go to RSA on Thursdays!"

"Then it's a date."

With this he left shortly to the dressing room... Jeez he was just as charming as on stage but... why did he have to word it like that... she knew this day she could not calm down for a second... but she will write so much about it in her diary.

Best New Heavy Metal Releases Week of November 4th, 2022

I know this is sounding like a broken record every week when I talk about the insane amount of new releases, but damn, two weeks in a row with 150 plus Hard Rock and Metal releases. Looking forward to the next few weeks, it doesn’t look as busy and I have to admit a bit of a break is going to come in handy. That end-of-year best of list looming just over the horizon. Hard to believe the year is almost up. The last few years have seen quite an uptick in the amount of incredibly high quality releases coming out, which bodes VERY well for the future. The list is once again VERY long so lets get to some the highlights.

Dolchstoss-War is Eternal (Black)**

Black Metal with some Punk Rock influences in the rhythm section which I am a sucker for. Quite a few Saidan vibes here which is always a good thing.

Disillusion-Ayam (Death/Progressive/Melodic)**

Ever wonder where modern era Opeth would go if they leaned further into the realm of Progressive Metal? I think Disillusion is that answer. I will fully admit the vocals may not click with everyone but the music and songwriting here is absolutely stunning.

Nocturnis-Unsegen (Black)**

No fucks given old school Black Metal. This isn’t trying to be anything else and I get the feeling this band could give a shit less whether you like them or not.

The Jokers-Rock and Roll Bones (Hard Rock/Heavy)**

Blues influenced Hard Rock that makes for a great palate cleanser in between some of the more extreme forms of metal I routinely enjoy. Fantastic album all the way through.

Lokurah-Distorted Truth (Melodic Death/Thrash)**

Great mix of Death and Thrash Metal with incredible production and a more modern approach in the songwriting.

I will cut it off there. When the list is this long, I always feel like I need to mention that there are more than a few albums that could have made the “Best of the Week” category but some tough choices had to be made. You may feel completely different, so don’t sleep on any of the albums on this list. Until next week and, as always, just remember that music is the passion of the soul.

Their powerful lyrics are based deep in Canadian history, delivered through their complex melodies and soaring clean vocals of progressive symphonic metal – all this has brought them a strong and growing fanbase in their home country and beyond: European fans will know the up- and coming quintet Osyron through their critically acclaimed albums Foundations (July 2020) and Kingsbane (2017, re-released as a Deluxe Edition in May 2021). Together, the albums spent 24 weeks with 37 appearances on the Canadian charts.

Inspired by their prior successes, Osyron have started to work on a new album in 2021, taking the modern and progressive sound and feel that they have created with Foundations and pushing it even further. The outcome is what the band feels is their strongest album to date: The first single Dominion Day took an impressive stand on that, landing on the Spotify editorial “All New Metal” playlist, which leads OSYRON to be even more proud to present Momentous. The brand new album will be released on November 4th 2022 on all major streaming platforms. This announcement comes with the release of the auspicious second single Beyond the Sun, making it 100% clear how Osyron have once again put their hearts and souls into the creative progress: It’s impossible to not hear and feel the devotion they have invested in their new music.

Beyond the Sun is yet another piece of high quality progressive music from the Canadian quintet, both epic and catchy with dynamic clean vocals, blended with powerful growling, delivered in a way that just leaves you craving for more. Flowing guitar sounds, dominant yet beneficial basslines and perfectly paced drums all add to the immersive experience, completed by a songwriting that seems to have gotten even stronger with every album: Lyrically, Osyron have always found strong, meaningful subjects to write about. Beyond the Sun really lives up to its name by going beyond and viewing life on a bigger scale, as the band explains: “More or less a love song, Beyond the Sun is about the ‘larger than life feeling’ of finding someone you belong with. Attributing the passion and emotions to that feeling of being beyond our galaxy, and beyond our sun.”

As another album created during the COVID-19 pandemic, Momentous resonates with the listener in many ways; leaving space to relate to the poetic themes and incredibly touching lyrics. Momentous explores our everyday life struggles by going beyond the difficulties and viewing them from different perspectives, mirroring recent times’s battles during the pandemic with all the pain and misery suddenly breaking into our lives, putting some heavy obstacles in the way. Listening to Momentous feels like Osyron just wrote a piece of concerned literature on how we managed to deal with all of that – wrapped up in a compelling musical form.

Henry: Very respected and looked up to… many students are intimidated but many also wanna approach him cause of business or his wealth so he is quite a popular student among NRC Brid: Many just assume... that Odel is the dorm leader and ignore her... she can't seem to get authority and people barely remember her She really struggles with that Barry: Many people are aware of his arrogance and to many students he is a bother, there is a few who do give him the time and popularity because he basically bought them to be his underlings but aside that… many are annoyed Osyron and Lydia: Hella scary to many students, they barely see the gods and if don't know if talking to them won't get them in trouble. Kuze: Many students see him as the junior, the Dorm leader that doesn't seem like one and instinctly would approach Yasuno more about dorm stuff… so he is liked but not really respected Erena: Given most see her as a chaotic adventurer other students also are not convinced untill she talks with them and you see how much charisma she has as a dorm leader and how to win her over well... She just wants fun and is a capable fighter in itself Flynn: As said he has a fanclub and many admirers but that is also true for Nanoya and Rubina, many know about his sketchyness and warn not to reveal too much to him. Peko: A lot of fans and big popularity among many students hence haters are quickly silenced… or at least yelled at by supporters… however higher year students often know how lazy as dorm leader she is and admire Emma more Tyler: Not many outside the dorm see him much but they often call him grumpy and many also just don't want to face his anger so he is only approached by people who know him, dorm members or fashionable to model students Gabrielle: Many Students admire her and cheer for her, also has a small fanclub and is highly respected among the campus. After Nach dem Release der gefeierten EP “Foundations” im letzten Jahr versüßt die kanadische Macht OSYRON ihren Fans mit einigen besonderen Releases weiterhin das Hörerlebnis. Der Song “The Cross” von besagter EP erhält nun sein eigenes, wohlverdientes Musikvideo mit eindrücklichen, atmosphärischen Szenerien und einer beeindruckenden Performance.

Wie schon so oft greifen die Kanadier auch hier ein historisch interessantes Thema auf: “Wenn man auf die Geschichte des Kolonialismus und religiöser Expansion zurückblickt, lässt sich erkennen, dass die Fundamente des zivilisierten Kanada auf die weitreichende Kolonialisierung der europäischen Großmächte des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts zurückzuführen sind. Große Gruppen englischer und französischer Siedler fanden sich selbst in einer gesetzlosen Gesellschaft der indigenen kanadischen Sub-Gruppen wieder, was ihnen die Türen für ein rücksichtsloses Schachspiel aus Assimilation und Krieg öffnete. Dieser Song behandelt, wie sowohl Religion als auch extremer Nationalismus eine Rolle in der Prägung einer ethnischen Gruppe spielten, die keine Ahnung hatte, was innerhalb der nächsten vier Jahrhunderte auf sie zukommen sollte.”

Und nicht nur die “Foundations”-Experience geht für Osyron-Fans weiter, denn die Band plant noch im Frühjahr 2021 ein weiteres Release. Wenn das kein Grund zur Vorfreude ist! Also: Geschichtsbücher weg, Kopfhörer raus, OSYRON auf die Ohren!

OSYRON New Album 'Foundations'

Calgary’s Osyron are proud to unleash their new album "Foundations", out now, as of July 10th. The album is an immersive exploration of Canadian history and identity, speaking on topics on the country's colonization to the mistreatment and recognition of Aboriginals to the country's participation in global warfare. Although it is not a conceptual release, it does bear a consistent theme across nearly the entirety of the record. Osyron is progressive, powerful metal with a knack for engaging storytelling. The band comments: “We believe that the album will both surprise and challenge our current and new fans while still bringing back the big elements we are most known for (hooks, huge layered sections, melodies, and finger-twisting riffs, etc). This album is meant to be digested as an immersive exploration of Canadian history and identity. Delving into sensitive topics such as cultural genocide, racism, and segregation. It touches on more communal elements of emotion such as loss, pain, hope, and perspective of faith. Overall, ‘Foundations’ is a view into an unseen and rarely explained/talked about topics; human nature.
