Are there any Canada-specific preorder bonuses for New Horizons? Or would they just be the same as the USA ones..?

As far as I've found..... no?

The BestBuy sticker and Target journal aren't available in Canada. NZGameShop and OZGameShop do ship to Canada and the USA, but I've been unable to see any Canada-specific bonuses :(

Amazon Japan also probably ships to Canada, but I'm not sure.

Honestly there's two ways to go about preorders this close to release

Risk missing out on a limited stock bonus by waiting for an announcement, but get more options of where to preorder

Get your preferred bonus by ordering through a store online and seeing if they ship to you. You'll miss the first day or so of play due to shipping time.

Both have their pros and cons, and the answer just depends on your preference. I have really dumb luck, so I'm going with the first option and am not even gonna stress over it. i have hopes for Gamestop 🤞

PSA: Nintendo Switch DLC -is- ‘Country‘-Locked!

Buyer Beware!

It turns out that while there seems to be minimal region locking on physical products for the Nintendo Switch, there is for online purchases!

Only they’re so harsh, you need to be in the same country. So for example, an Australian looking to save some money and buying their games from Europe, will not be able to purchase the DLC from the Aussie e-shop, if their Nintendo account is set to Australia.

I just got off the phone with Nintendo AU and they advised to create a second (dummy) Nintendo account, and have that set to the UK so it then it can access the correct e-shop.

My call was about Splatoon 2′s Octo Expansion though Nintendo AU told me they’d also heard cases about the Bayonetta code which comes with Bayonetta 2.

tl;dr:

European-bought Games / Codes can only work with European e-shop.

Aussie & NZ-bought Games / Codes can only work with the Aussie & NZ e-shop.

Question

Anyone with an EU account know why EU timecards are impossible to get a hold of anywhere? I’ve been trying to renew the sub on my alt account but everywhere where timecards are sole, the EU ones are not available, and it’s been like that since at least mid December.

Play-Asia, OzGameShop, pretty much anywhere else just has all timecards but for EU. I can’t buy one from the SE store because it doesn’t use PayPal, and I can’t buy Crysta, because I keep getting hit with the (11000) error, so I’m at my fucking wit’s end here.

Ugh, the eternal struggle of time vs money! DBH is $5 cheaper at Ozgameshop but I'd have to wait 2 weeks, defeating the purpose of getting it now. Grr! >:(

Week over, still no Persona 5.

And I’m starting to get REALLY pissed off. I got an email saying the order was dispatched last Friday (the 31st of March). And I payed extra for express shipping. For a pre-order this is pretty unacceptable. I ordered through Ozgameshop, which is UK-based, but was the only was I could get a copy of the PS3 version since they aren’t releasing it in Australia. Or so I thought. Checking the Playstation Store on release day, it turns out we DO get the digital version, just not the physical one. Why didn’t I know this earlier?! I could’ve had the game now if I did! (Also turns out we got the digital version of Trails of Cold Steel 2, and very cheap too. So I never needed to import that one after all...) According to reviews, Ozgameshop seems infamous for slow shipping. I’d heard friends use it so I assumed it’d be alright. Turns out they cut corners on shipping so they can sell cheaply. No tracking at all either. I’ve now found reviews saying pre-orders took MONTHS to arrive, some even saying they’ve gone 7 months without getting their order and Ozgameshop makes it really hard to get a refund. I should’ve done more research before I ordered. I feel like such an idiot now. This will be the first and last time I shop with them.

I guess on a semi-brighter note, I suppose I can give a PSA to anyone in Australia: there’s currently an Easter sale on the e-shop and there’s some really good deals there: Tales of Graces and Xillia bundle for very cheap, both Trails of Cold Steel games are under $15, I think Lost Dimension is on sale too, you can get all three PS3 Batman Arkham games for around $10. I’m actually kind of tempted to get Tales of Zestiria while it’s on sale. I haven’t heard great things about it, but it’s only around $10 so no real harm in it.

eb games: the despicable gamesmonger and cad whose 3DS games prices are always far in excess of what they should be, but its handle on supply serves as a cruel justification.
