Guys please I’m begging you the only reason no one knows how to pronounce Worcestershire sauce is because the pronounciations are very much British English naming pronouncation conventions
Like people here in the uk know how to pronounce it because for one it is very much a county (worcestershire), and for two because it has basic naming conventions that are found in a lot of countys in the country!
Like, Leicestershire is not Leicester shire its le-ster-sher. The cester is usually said as a ster and the shire is sher. Not Shire not Cester.
It is Wo-ster-sher sauce. Not war-chester-shire.
This is not a new thing in the UK, it is how names are. It makes sense to us and its a pronouncation naming convention. America does not have this, you guys pronounce the shire as Shire all the time (as far as I have heard) in these names, when that is just not the case
That is why everyone complains about it making no sense and being difficult to pronounce - Not because it actually is, but because America doesn’t have the same conventions that are just Known by people.
So there u go now you know how to pronounce worcestershire sauce :) as Wo-ster-sher sauce ur welcome scincerely a British Person

Hi I LOVE luis and I LOVE Serennedy and I’m SO HAPPY you have asks on!!
Anyways I was laughing to myself this morning about Luis’s first words to Leon being in English. Ik it’s just for the benefit of the players of re4r BUT I like to think that he only had to take one look at blonde, thicc, gun-clad Leon and go “yeah that’s an American, better speak English” like logically that’s a Spanish man in his isolated Spanish village, so he had no other reason to NOT speak Spanish there!!! He clocked Leon so fast lolol.
That’s not really question but wanted to share my brainrot. So uhhh, read any good Serennedy fics lately?
TUMBLR DELETED MY EXTREMELY LOMG ANSWER TO THIS AND I AM S O MAD BUT YOU HAVE SUCH A BIG MASSIVE BRAIN I JUST H A D TO DRAW YOUR CONCEPT

((Also not to plug my own art or anything but my main is @wisecrackingeric-2 if you wanna see more stuff like that!!!!))
BUT OH MY GOD?? Y E S ?????????? HOW HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS BEFORE HOLY CRAP Leon’s big bodacious behind and jokes aside I REALLY WISH we got to see more of Luis using Spanish in casual conversation!!!!!! Like clearly he’s both VERY fluent in English and Spanish and uses them both interchangeably but GOD I WISH WE GOT TO HEAR LIKE A FULL CONVERSATION BETWEEN HIM AND MENDEZ OR SOMETHING. Like that opening scene in seperate ways???? MUWAH. IT WAS SO COOL. ANYWAYS YOUR ACTUAL QUESTION YES I HAVE S O MANY FIC RECS I CAN GIVE YOU!!!!!
‘Nothing Fades Like The Light’ by @greasedcowboy is genuinely possibly my favourite fanfiction of all time. I’ve never had to go lay down on my bathroom floor because of a fic until this one HXNEHENDIX
‘Another Time’ by @hamartia-grander is S U C H AN INCREDIBLY WELL PACED time travel fic with the most GUT WRENCHING plot twists EVER’
‘I Carry All My Sins’ by @mooseonahunt I don’t. I don’t even wanna spoil this one. Just. Just read it totally blind
‘Loves For Show’ by @theprestigegirly Is S U C H a good fake-dating slowburn fic which is H I G H PRAISE coming from someone who usually isn’t a fan of the genre!!!!!!!! Seriously if you like beautiful wording and gorgeous depictions of raw human emotion this one’s for you!!!!!!!!!!!!
‘We’ll Be Alright’ by @ugetelynx IS SO GOOD. GOD ITS SO GOOD MAN. It’s a S U P E R unique AU and the way Lynx weaves the story and takes you along the path of these two slowly learning how to live a life with one another- MWUAH. LITERALLY SO GORGEOUS. Prepare to have your soul ripped out of your ribcage
‘Redemption Of The Guilty’ by Sylanna!!!!! Again another one where I’m like just!!!! Go read it!!!!!!!! I don’t wanna spoil it!!

enjoy my brain rambles (18+ MDNI)
idk the last time i did a theory/full lore post on anything since 17 year old me played mystic messenger in 2017 (IN FUCKING PHYSICS!!!!!) but for some reason 14 days with you has been on the forefront of my brain for over a year so. also it's so funny how not into yandere games/dark romance i was years ago but the moment i started college and started reading shit like ACOTAR (not dark romance but like... y'know... rhys...) i am like damn... what if someone was THAT into me me... (this does not include haunting adeline i fucking hate that book)
anyways sorry for the ramble!!!! some fun stuff i have found in the last idk few days of perusing old stuff, new stuff, etc.
also, a lot of hints i've found have been followed up by "👀". this is not the case with everything but just a lil tidbit i noticed! :)
The official 14DWY blog is @14dayswithyou
edit: put 18+ mdni in title because the game is 18+! should have mentioned that LOL
Ren's name!
I have been super interested in finding out his name, which i will send guesses sometime to the ask box when i have more as to not spoil anything if i'm right. BUT, i can share everything i have collected! i do know we will know more about him in day 7 possibly but i want to hopefully give some help if anyone wants to guess like me!
(Not In Name) ❌ - T, D, Z, S
(In The Name) ✅ - N, R, A, E
does not begin with - E, R, B, A, P
does not end with - N, L, Y
extras ⁃ 8 letters (could be more) ⁃ not traditionally masculine ⁃ american ⁃ emerald has three letters (E, A, R are my guesses) ⁃ clarence (two letters right spot) ⁃ emerson (one letter right spot) ⁃ marienne (one letter right spot) ⁃ his sister called him ren
so, with this in mind i have a few ideas. it seems the letter "R" is in the fourth position in his name. the letter "E" seems to be at the end of his name. i believe his name may be unisex or possibly more typically feminine, but he was named by his mother after her two friends (which i believe are Teo's relatives). some guesses about the name i have are: i believe his name may begin with an L or F, but this is just a guess i have but i do not believe it begins with a C. either "ren" is in his name altogether or another variation such as rien. but! this is just a theory (matpat... thank u).
some extras:
_ _ _ r _ _ _ e
edit: upon some scrolling before bed i am starting to believe their name may end in “rence” or “riene”. will update but that’s where i’m landing right now.
edit 2: may ALSO end in renie!
2. Ren's hands!
so we know ren has scarred hands from an accident prior to the events of the game before he ran from home. i don't know exactly what caused the scarring, but i believe it was some kind of altercation with his father from the sounds of it. it was said that ren left his mom in absolute hysterics when he left, so i believe there are a few things that could have happened.
i don't know if ren's father would hurt his mother but let's assume he wouldn't, maybe ren was presenting more masculine, talking back to his father, becoming a "threat" towards taylor, who knows! whatever happened, ren got into an altercation with taylor that ended in the scarring. I believe it has something to do with fire, taylor may have been set of fire somehow. maybe taylor wanted to burn the house down. OR, maybe ren tried to burn the house down with taylor in it...
it's possible that taylor may have tried to harm ren's mother that he attempted to save his mom and burn his father/harm his father. whatever happened, hana was not present for this as i believe this is when ren ran away from home IF this is how it happened.
maybe what happened to his hands was much longer before he left. i've seen some questioning that when leon had a birthday party, he invited hana but she did not go for reasons unknown. what this could mean is that something happened WHEN hana still lived there before she was sent off to school. maybe this was when ren got the scars on his hands. maybe taylor tried to harm ren due to him simply being male, maybe it was something else. maybe ren fought back. maybe taylor tried to hurt ren's mother, causing him to be punished by his father. all i know is, ren in an ask has said “I-I didn’t mean to… He— I didn’t have much of a choice…”
3. Playlist!
a while ago, saint put out this playlist and explained that characters and endings are connected to the songs. from other's guesses and my own curiosity, i went through and did some eliminations and found these to be the most possible to be connected:
shapeshift - ren
almost had me - violet
glimpse of us - leon
angel - ending
god complex - ending (possibly leon)
EDIT: gun - ending (most likely bad)
heart-shaped hologram - EDIT: I believe this is ren's introspection now
these could be inaccurate! but from what i have seen i think these are the best guesses for some of the songs. maybe i'll try to guess more in depth, but for now, this is just from what i've read up! 14 days also has the potential to be an ending, but once again this may be another post.
conclusion
i am so out of my mind. but it is so fun to evaluate lore i have always loved doing it and this game itched my brain. i reccommend this game if you're interested in horror and are 18+ then i say check out this game! read the warnings ahead of time, but i find it funky fresh
anyways womp womp, redacted come home, emo boy by ayesha erotica lookin' ass

R I P L E Y (2024)
***Contains SPOILERS***
A review (of sorts, but more a rambling opinion piece that veers off the main subject occasionally).
So I've watched R I P L E Y (2024), all eight episodes of it. One word: Bravissimo!
As someone who loves the Ripliad series of novels by Patricia Highsmith immensely, and having watched all the Ripley film adaptations there are thus far — Plein Soleil aka Purple Noon (1960), The American Friend aka Der Amerikanische Freund (1977), The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), Ripley's Game (2002), and Ripley Under Ground (2005) — I went into this new series (released on Netflix on April 4th) with expectations…
Not high, for I've learned it's never good to have high expectations or you'll more than likely just be setting yourself up for disappointment…but with expectations all the same!
Thus far, my favourite Ripley film adaptation had been 2002's Ripley's Game starring John Malkovich as an older Ripley. Had been. Until this series that is! I still love Ripley's Game a lot of course! (heh!) And there really should be no comparison given it's two different mediums and the two Ripleys are portrayed from different times of the character's life.
So saying, this new series definitely sets a new standard for a Ripley adaptation! And as someone who love the books a lot, I'm glad this series is very closely adapted from the first book!
The decision to go for a black and white cinematography, I was skeptical about that at first but after looking at the trailers and reading on the director's reasoning for going B & W with this, I can understand why, and generally agree with his decision.
Though at times, especially when looking at the wonderful interior sets, I'll be wishing I could see it in all its colour glory and thinking what a waste it was not to have it in colour, but that is but a minor hitch, for the B & W cinematography is done with superb mastery and skill, and it's hard to find fault with going this route. And it does contribute to getting into the film noir feel from films of yesteryear.
On the actors, I was skeptical on Andrew Scott as Ripley at first, but I'm happy to say he has proven me wrong and his Ripley, while not as young as Ripley should be at the start of the novel series, is one that is characterised the closest, and if Showtime/Netflix has any plans to adapt the rest of the novels, Scott will be perfect as an older Ripley, I think!
Maybe that was/is the plan…that's why Scott was chosen even though age wise, he doesn't quite fit in the beginning…one can hope! (heh!)
Moving on, just a brief rambling on the other main actors/characters because I'm getting tired:
Love Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood, she was exactly how I imagined Marge to be as I read the (first) book. A superb performance by Fanning I'd say!
Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf was underwhelming for me partly because in my eyes, Jude Law was/is the perfect Dickie (even if his — Law's — American accent was/is questionable), but partly also because I find Flynn is lacking charisma (sorry, Flynn fans!), I didn't get the sense of what was so fascinating about this Dickie that Ripley would be so enamoured with him or his lifestyle, enough to kill for it.
Perhaps the fault lies partly with the script too for I felt we the audience didn't get to see more of what drew Ripley to Dickie, besides his obvious wealth and status.
Eliot Sumner as Freddie Miles. Now this was the character that underwent the most drastic change as compared to the book and the 1999 The Talented Mr. Ripley film adaptation. In both the book and the 1999 film, Freddie was described (and portrayed to perfection by Philip Seymour Hoffman in my opinion) as an American with carrot-red hair, stocky, loud and all round obnoxious from miles away sort.
2024 Freddie is slim-built, androgynous looking, with a cherub face and British…he's practically a whole different character except in name.
As such, it's unfair to compare I guess, but having envisioned Freddie as described in the book for so long, helped along by PSH's award-worthy performance, I'll just say this is not the Freddie for me.
But, that doesn't mean Sumner's Freddie was bad. In terms of being almost a foil to Ripley, Sumner's Freddie is still quite effectively annoying.
Special mentions to Maurizio Lombardi and Margherita Buy as Inspector Ravini and Signor(in)a Buffi (Ripley's landlady) respectively! I enjoyed watching these two characters.
Also a special mention to Lucio (Signor(in)a Buffi's cat), who, had it been able to speak, Ripley would certainly have silenced! (heh!)
Tumblr media
Last but not least, a special mention to John Malkovich as Reeves Minot.
Tumblr media
I was so excited when I first saw Malkovich in the trailer because not only is his casting a nice tribute to his turn as Tom Ripley in Ripley's Game (2002), I thought he would be playing Herbert Greenleaf at first, but he turned out to be playing Reeves Minot! Even better! Gives more hope that new seasons of R I P L E Y (2024) may happen!
Those who have read the books will know that Reeves Minot is a recurring character in the later books — I can't really remember how many exactly, it's been some time since I last read them (and I should again!).
To sum up, I did enjoy this series tremendously and will definitely rewatch many times to come, and I hope we'll get further adaptations of the other books with the same standards as set for this one!
P.S.: I've seen a few people mention “this (R I P L E Y) is like Saltburn!”. I never heard of the film Saltburn before looking at some opinion pieces, but after looking it up, dare I say, Saltburn ripped off the Ripliad stories and its characters (the Ripliad books first came out in the 1950s) and I think it's more appropriate to say “Saltburn is like Ripley”!

The Republican War On Teachers
There’s a war being waged on America’s teachers,  and we must stand up for them before it’s too late.
Teachers watch over America’s most precious asset — our children.
They dedicate their lives to caring for our youth, serving as role models, and making sure that future generations are set up for success.
So why on Earth are we treating them so badly?
Our nation’s teachers are not only working long, demanding hours inside and outside of the classroom — but they’re blamed these days for almost everything imaginable.
They are yelled at by parents over masks, reprimanded by school boards about books they assign or let their students read, vilified by politicians for teaching honest lessons about America’s history of racism and genocide, even told to arm themselves against the possibility that their classrooms might be invaded by murderous young men with semi-automatics.
Teachers are also making less money than they were ten years ago. Their average salary today is around $66,000, but when adjusted for inflation, that’s a $2,000 pay cut compared to 2012. As recently as 2018, nearly 600,000 public school teachers had to work a second job.
We’re also saddling our nation’s educators with huge debt. Nearly half of teachers, 45%, have taken out student loans to pay for the advanced degrees often required of them — with an average debt load of $55,800.
On top of all this, 94% of teachers have had to dip into their own pockets to buy school supplies. This, in the richest country in the history of the world! And at a time when the average Wall Street employee bonus for 2021 hit a record high of $257,500. It would take the typical teacher almost four years to make that much — and that’s just a bonus for Wall Street traders — a massive golden cherry on top of their ever-sweeter salaries.
I’m guessing Wall Street firms don’t make traders pay for their own pencils.
Are Wall Street bankers really worth so much more than the people we ask to care for and teach our children? P-l-e-a-s-e.
Yet none of this has stopped Republicans from accelerating their war on teachers, and turning educators into political pawns in their battle to advance a radical agenda.
Since January 2021, 35 states have introduced 137 bills limiting what educators are allowed to talk with their students about – with regard to race, American history, politics, sexual orientation and gender identity.
Governors Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida are poster boys for this campaign, even supporting legislation that intrudes on a teacher's ability to craft lesson plans.
Republicans are quick to lob the terms “critical race theory” or “wokeism” against any curriculum that allows our youth to express their identities, advances critical thinking skills, and is honest about our nation’s tragic racial history — calling it “indoctrination” or “brainwashing.”
Why?
Because the biggest threat facing the Republican Party is a new multi-racial generation of young people unafraid to speak truth to power.
Ultimately, if we don’t learn from our history — which often means learning from our mistakes — there’s no way we can tackle our nation’s most pressing problems while building a better, more inclusive future. The foundation for this future begins in the classroom.
So how can we fight back against this war on America’s teachers?
First, pay them twice as much as they’re earning. Bare minimum.
Second, fight for their freedom to teach. Many of the decisions that affect teachers' day-to-day work — as well as the lives of students — are made at local school board meetings. So, go to one. Better yet, run for a position on your local school board.
Third, listen to our teachers. Do you know what’s been lost in the cultural and political war against education in this country? The voices of ACTUAL teachers. If we’re going to truly support them and repair the harm done to our education system, they need to be heard.
Defend our teachers. Pay our teachers. Value our teachers. The work they do determines our future.

SEN. TYDINGS
Hon. Millard E. Tydings,
   U. S. Senator,
      Senate Office Building,
         Washington, D.C.
Dear Sir: -
You have under consideration the Fletcher-Rayburn bill for regulation of the stock exchanges. [penciled circle  around portion of lines of type, including "stock exchanges"]
We believe this to be vicious legislation - another prohibition law - destructive to elemental human liberties - even the liberty to lose one's money in one's own way - and paternalistic to the point where it threatens the spiritual and moral integrity of the individual.
This measure to curb speculation and market manipulation is sponsored by an administration which is committed to a policy of gigantic speculation - and has[penciled comma], for a year - been deliberately rigging the market for commodities and gold - using for its operations public funds - [underscored word] [unclear: taxed] alike from those who accept speculation, and those who would have none of it.
Such legislation would strike at the exercise of our traditional American right to fight out of the rut of financial mediocrity. It will unfairly injure the market for our present investments and unjustly restrict or [unclear: deny] facilities for such committments [commitments] as we might wish to make in the future.
We respectfully ask that you direct your whole influence against the passage of the Fletcher-Rayburn bill.
[at right]
Very truly yours.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Omg I'm so happy you like them!!! I glad I got your OC's right too ^^
Ok ok. Remember, other than Poppy, these are mainly me spitballing ideas until I find a design that works best. With that out if the way, let's get to it in alphabetical order ^^
Ben Cottontail/Ben Cooper
Tumblr media
This is the second one I feel most assured in design. I want him to look as plain as your typical perfect school boy looks. Basically, you can tell that he values too much in the wrong things just by looking at him. I was trying to go for a strawberry blonde look, though I doubt I succeeded 😅
Henry Foxworth/Henry Worthington
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Henry on the streets VS Henry being blackmailed into marriage by you-know-who. He is meant to have a more dirty, cheating Flynn Rider look. Or, as you perfectly put it, a fusion between Nick Wilde and Prince Hans. I want his hair to stick up anime style like your drawing of him showed, but this app didn't have that option XD
Moony Wolf/Marcus Wheeler
Tumblr media
Moony's design I'm having the most trouble with. Both as a toon and a human (as a toon, I want him to look scary while also keeping the 30's-40's cartoon style. As a human, how can I humanize Moony if I don't even have his toon design fully developed? 😅). I do know I want him to be African American at least, though. And I want his eyes to be a reddish brown to best replicate his red eyes as a wolf. I tried to make him look roughed up while simultaneously make him look like he's actively taking care of himself. I still have a lot to figure out about Moony's design.
Poppy O'Hare/Sophie O'Brian
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You already know what Pops looks like, but I still wanted to include her... Not to mention the blood effect did make me think of how, as friends with gangsters, she had to have witnessed at least one murder...
Shiny Weasel/Miriam Hill
Tumblr media
I was originally going to make her Augurn, but then I realized she started to look too much like Jessica Rabbit. So bright brown hair it is XD she is also supposed to have freckles... But I forgot XD (she does wear foundation at work, though. So we'll say that this is her club look). I'm thinking about making her African American as well, or mixed race.
Terry Ratt T./Terry R. Jordan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Terry's was simultaneously fun and frustrating to do. I needed to make him look as ratty as possible XD I think this one is my favorite most of all.
Now, the most important question... Would Rena smash or pass? I'm kidding I'm kidding XDD (unless... 👀)
Tumblr media
MOONY, my wolfy husband,
IS EVEN H O T T E R
THEN I THOUGHT.
ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?? 'roughed up while simultaneously make him look like he's actively taking care of himself'- I'm looking at him through this excellent lense, as well, and ohhhh boy ❤💕❤💕❤💕
I love how Ben has such an angel face XD And HENRY OH MY LORD- you wnat me to throw away my morals dont you?? You want me to throw off the Hunt?? Call Greasy and Bugs off the search for him dead or alive??? I refuse!! No! XD But he is hot 😅XD Oh my lord.
Poppy, of course ^^ She's so pretty ^^ And now that we have the guys looks, I'm having a lot of fun picturing that sweet lady with them!! Her and Moony are p a r t i c u l a r l y cute! XD
SHINY IS B E A U T I F U L !!! I love her hair and eye make up! Its not what I was expecting at all but its different and unique and so Her!! Kinda like a beautiful and colourful, dangerous bird or plant-- which is SO SHINY!
And... I just love how ratty Terry is XDD Love him definitely XD
~
Omg is that a real question??? THE ANSWER IS YES. RENA WOULD SMASH THEM ALL. So would Ryan (Well- Moony, Poppy, Terry and Shiny (though she and her drama are on thin ice- he already has Kingston and his drama's to put up with) at least. Platonically XD If they needed it and simply asked.).

Note
you know, I often talk about how I want a little more diversity (Italian or any Mediterranean, more black characters, middle eastern, more south American, characters from northern and southern Africa, etc), but I'm just realizing the villain characters are unbalanced. If we count Junkers, Deadlock, Null Sector, and Talon all together, villains make up over half of the tanks, 20% of the DPS, and only 10% of the healers. Our only villain healer is Moira. Like, why is there no Junker healer? Gimme a weird scrap kid who flings Roadhog's Hogdrogen at people. Or just some other villain healer. Like make Maximilien a healer. P l e a s e. Also the only villain DPS characters are Reaper Widow Sombra Junkrat and Ashe. That's really not a lot.
I completely agree and honestly this new event kind of shows how little villains there are cause there are so many Talon skins this season but only three Overwatch skins?
Not only that but Ashe and Junkrat aren't even villains as they are both against Null Sector and by extension Talon. At most they would be antagonists. Hell even Sombra's dabatable as a full villain as she has her own thing going on.
I would love to see more villains, especially Support because by far, support heroes can be the most versatile to characterize. What I would give to see a hero based around the greatest fear trope, a gas based support or maybe even poison based. Hell Sanjay could be a good support villain, just use Sym's old kit + some healing abilities and he's set.

One of the first Alex Keller pieces I've read back in the day. I still remember being curled up falling asleep as this popped into my feed.

Arguably one of my favourite Alex one shots. I keep gravitating back toward it, and re-reading. The sentence about "sweet boy, could it be you need me too?" Holds free real estate in my brain

Things I noticed in Mesmerizer Music Video!
Tumblr media
Hi guys! This is the first time I've done this, and if I missed something, let me know!
[MV]
The thumbnail LITERALLY looks like a SOS signal, with Miku and Teto being the two S and the 13-point star being the O. The star is called a tridecagram, and they represent immortality.
At the start, notice the confetti, Miku's poses, and their pupils. The confetti is a reasonable amount, Miku's poses are the same as Teto's, and their pupils are stars.
At first, Miku seemed to be talking about.. well, something, but that "something" is making her sad, and Teto appears, talking about an "Ultimate Escape". It could mean drugs, anti-depressants or lobotomies. And they are also themed as though they are workers in a diner from somewhere in the 90's (I got that from Pinkie Pie).
In the next scene, Teto appears to be doing a thumbs-up while Miku holds her hands together. Teto is actually doing the ASL (American Sign Language) of "help me".
In the next scene, the name of the song, Mesmerizer, is spelled. Miku doesn't blink (or maybe she did, I just missed it), while Teto blinks SOS in Morse code ( ... --- ...). Also, is it just me or Teto sounds like she's saying "Saaaaave me"? Just me? Ok.
Next scene isss: Quiz Time! At this point in the MV, Miku and Teto's pupils are now just.. normal pupils. Now, notice how the start of every word in Quiz time spell H-E-L-P (H is for Hat, E is for Eraser, L is for Lemon, and P is for phosphoribosylaminoimidazole succinyl carboxamide, which is used for hypnosis? I think). The fourth letter of every word also spells out SOS. Teto also used another sign language of "help".
Hypnosis scene! In this scene, Miku swings her head along with the camera. It looked like someone is swinging a pendulum in front of Miku, and normally in cartoon shows this is how they hypnotize someone. Miku also resisted for a short time (just a day), and we could see that from the background.
Teto, however, resisted (For about 11 days?), and unlike Miku, she didn't swing her head along with the camera. I feel like she knows what the person hypnotizing her was doing, as she's resisting as much as she can. She even squints her eyes and the music getting a bit blurred out means that she is trying to shut everything out to focus on not being hypnotized.
Green screen: The next scene shows Miku and Teto in front of a green screen, Miku looking confused and Teto is.. shocked? Concerned? Confused? I'm not sure, but she's feeling uneasy, that's for sure.
Next dancing scene: Their pupils are just normal now, and Teto looks uneasy. Miku's poses suddenly change into difficult angles, like she's being controlled by a puppeteer. In Teto's turn, during her dance she keeps staring at Miku, as though she also saw Miku's poses change and thought "Oh shit she's hypnotized and I'm next".
The background starts getting darker, and Miku finally goes cuckoo. It also shows Japanese (?) characters, and apparently it says "hypnosis". In that split second, Teto looks like she is about to faint (I'm joking but seriously though) and Miku is about to bite my head off. Jk.
Last dancing scene: The confetti is now excessive, Teto stops bopping herself to beat for a moment, and the tridecagram now looks like a hypnosis type of.. shit. I don't know what it's called, but it's for hypnosis. Miku now goes crazy (and paler), while Teto's eyes go blank, and she's "oh oH OH SHIT I'M NEXT-" .. no real basis for that, but I can feel it from behind the scenes.
Miku also starts doing uncomfortable angles, and doesn't stop when it's Teto's turn, or when the dancing scene is over. She is also off-beat and is dancing faster than Teto. Another thing, people usually have their eyes wide and tongue when they hang themselves. I think the background means to tell us that they did this for several days, and they sky is getting cloudier. Some people uses this as a metaphor, like... when you say your sky is clear, you're happy, your mind isn't full of worrying. When you say it's getting cloudy, your mind is fogging, you tend to worry a lot, and you just get sadder. Or it's only me who uses that as that way.
Ok guys last scene!! The confetti is too much, Miku is.. creepy, and Teto looks super.. discomposed? But she's getting edgy, basically. Miku is now back to bopping to the beat, and at the very end, Teto also gets hypnotized (NOOO TETO WENT TO THE DARK SIDE 😭😭😭).
Overall: This song is about hypnotism and escapism, but in the modern times, I think this song could be associated with drugs. Yes that's right. Drugs. I feel like reality is too much for Miku at this point, and she's just pretending everything's fine (relatable), and Teto introduces the "Ultimate Escape"; drugs (or alchohol, it can work with either). Long story short, Miku takes WAYYY too much drugs/alchohol and gets addicted to them, much to Teto's concern, but later on she also gives up and gets addicted as well.
(Off-topic, but this is the Danganronpa side of me speaking, and I legit imagined an MV of Mesmerizer, but instead it's Junko and Mukuro 😀 and instead of a drug, they get addicted to despair. Or maybe pre-game Tsumugi and Pre-game Rantaro as well?)

I’m so conflicted about what I want out of Season 3.
I want Frances McDormand to apologize to Crowley and give him mom hugs, but also… That’s some NC levels of parental failure right there. Throwing your kid out (and maiming them with the emotional evisceration that is Falling) for asking questions and maybe being a smartass? I don’t know that there’s any way I can forgive that.
I don’t want Crowley to go back to being an angel— we love him as he is. But I don’t want him left to suffer, thinking he’s not good enough.
Obviously I want the boys back together, but I want more apologies from Aziraphale than Crowley would ever permit or tolerate. Our demon doesn’t think he deserves the kind of love we want showered on him.
I want— no, I demand an explanation from Heaven, even though I know in my heart of hearts that no explanation could ever justify what the supposed root of all goodness has permitted and perpetuated.
I want a real kiss.
I want to witness the working through. I know the boys’re from the UK where traditionally things stay all buttoned up, but I’m (for good or ill) an American, and we want that shit all out on the table. I don’t need angel-demon porn (we’ve got fanfic for that, although I’d never object) but I need explicit apologies and blatant statements of love and intention. S P E L L I T O U T.

Governors Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida are poster boys for this campaign, even supporting legislation that intrudes on a teacher’s ability to craft lesson plans.

2024 Academy Award Best Picture Nominees Guide For Those Who Haven’t Actually Watched Them
In a year when the names of pretty much every movie are combinations of random, non-descript words, and with a lineup of films that few people did actually watch or even legitimately know what they’re about (except Barbenheimer) - the Academy really tested the flimsy premise of this now decade-old bit.
But tis the season! So sing along with me! My awards have a first name, it’s O-S-C-A-R!
My awards have a second name, it’s C-O-R-P-O-R-A-T-E-H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D-W-I-L-L-S-O-O-N-B-R-E-A-K-I-T-S-P-R-O-M-I-S-E-T-O-T-H-E-U-N-I-O-N-S-A-N-D-C-R-E-A-T-E-A-L-L-O-F-T-H-E-S-E-M-O-V-I-E-S-W-I-T-H-A-I-I-N-T-H-E-F-U-T-U-R-E!
So, let’s dive in for this 10th rundown of the Best Picture nominees!
Tumblr media
American Fiction
What Florida Governor Ron DeSantis calls critical race theory.
3 Things To Casually Inject Into Conversation To Prove You Saw The Movie And Sound Like An Expert:
German Fiction is what those who planned to vote for DeSantis call Zone of Interest.
If this wins, Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty will announce it as La La Land.
Tracee Ellis Ross plays the role of Dr. Lisa Ellison. Other original names for characters were Myra Lucretia Taylor as Dr. Mary Lucretiason, Michael Cyril Creighton as Dr. Thomas Cyrilson and Sterling K. Brown as Dr. William K.-son.
Anatomy of a Fall
About 6-foot-2 and roughly 200 pounds at the time that he slapped Chris Rock at this awards show in 2022.
3 Things To Casually Inject Into Conversation To Prove You Saw The Movie And Sound Like An Expert:
You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris? They call it Anatomie D'Une Cheese.
I thought it was a bit lazy that in order to play the half-blind son, director Justine Triet just put an eye-patch on Milo Machado-Graner and exclaimed, “Mon Dieu! Ze garçon is now half blind. Voir!
Eric Clapton’s least favorite Best Picture nominee.
Barbie
A sharp and immensely profitable attack upon the patriarchy and a film that became a rallying cry for female empowerment in Hollywood that garnered no Best Director or Best Actress nominations but nabbed a nom for penis-owning actor Ryan Gosling.

Hi Barbie!
One day during childhood, I agreed to play Barbies with my two sisters and my brother. But we played Saved By The Bell with Ken as Zack Morris, an Aladdin doll as A.C. Slater and various Barbies as Kelly, Jessie and Lisa. It was civil until I got bored and used another Ken doll to be Screech and all of a sudden gave him the power (ironically…Screech's last name was Powers) to fly and then pretended he was flying over the Dream House and farting and pooping down (also ironically in light of Dustin Diamond’s later activities) on everyone causing my sisters to scream at me while I cackled with laughter. Not really a joke. Just a real crystalized childhood memory that I'm sadly still kind of proud of and also still think is very funny.
Next year, the Polly Pocket movie will be a tremendous hit, break down traditional gender norms, and Austin Butler will be the only one nominated for an Oscar for playing Paul E. Pocket.
The Holdovers
A story about a group that has nowhere to go after they are abandoned in New England…the 2020 Patriots.

The lead role called for a “stubborn, curmudgeonly” character and Paul Giamatti just materialized on set.
To achieve Giamatti’s character Paul Hunham’s trademark lazy eye, Alexander Payne enlisted the help of Anatomy of a Fall director Justine Triet who came on set and addressed Giamatti’s right eye, saying, “Bonjour, eye! Do some work, s'il vous plaît. (Pauses for a beat.) Sacre bleu! Ze eye refuses to work. Zis is a lazy eye!”
This is the first collaboration between director Alexander Payne and actor Paul Giamatti since Sideways which now makes sense since there are various points in the film where a character, with absolutely no context or prompting, sips a glass of merlot and spits it on the ground screaming, “Merlot is the worst liquid in the universe!” But it was a bit much when the last scene of the movie was Paul Giamatti looking directly into the camera and saying, “Fuck you, merlot,” before the credits rolled.
Killers of the Flower Moon
Ernest in the Army. Ernest Scared Stupid. Ernest Goes to Jail.

Leonardo DiCaprio initially turned down the role when he learned that his romantic interest in the film, Mollie Kyle, was 137 years old, saying, "Maybe without the 7!"
IMDB lists this movie’s runtime in years.
Scorsese rejected composer Robbie Robertson’s first score for the film that included “‘Up on Cripple Creek…Is Where They Found Anna’s Body’”, “I Shall Be Released…Is What King Hale Tells Ernest While In Jail”, “The Weight…Of His Transgressions Caused Ernest to Testify Against His Uncle” and “Ophelia…Is Probably The Name of One of The Background Osage Women Characters, Oh Come On Marty, Just Put It In The Credits, People Love This Song”

Early critical reviews of the trailer focused on the “Anatomy of a Face”.
Just like in “A Star Is Born”, Bradley Cooper took vocal lessons to actually perform Leonard Bernstein's classic “Hallelujah”. (What’s that? There are two Jewish Leonards?)
Cooper spent nearly 45% of the film’s budget on that epic final battle scene between Bernstein and Lydia Tár.
Oppenheimer
Julius Robert Oppenheimer Schmidt! That's my name too! Whenever I got out, the people always shout, “There goes Julius Robert Oppenheimer Schmidt!” Na-na na-na na-na-na!

In an alternate scene, it's revealed that the exchange between Oppenheimer and Edison by the pond that caused Albert to react so sadly when walking past Robert Downey Jr. is that Oppenheimer tried to sneak a fart but then said, “Oh no. I just Oppensharted.”
Nolan took some liberties with the true story. In reality, the U.S. killed between 110,000 and 210,000 Japanese citizens…with kindness.
Since ABC does not include the Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards during the broadcast, we will not see Cillian Murphy’s acceptance speech for Best Seated Mangina.
Past Lives
This film follows the stories of the characters’ souls across time, and the stories are interwoven as they advance, showing how they all interact in their “past lives”. The film explores how people's “past lives” are connected with and influence each other and…wait a second. Nope. That’s Cloud Atlas. (Do not watch Cloud Atlas.)

Due to scheduling conflicts with Poor Things, Emma Stone was unable to play the female Asian lead this time.
However, in the North Korean version of the film, Kim Jong Un played the role. And all the other roles. And won all of the Oscars. Ever.
This movie is a prequel to the movie Lives.

Max McCandles was actually the original name of Lumière from Beauty and the Beast.
Unfortunately this story of a British woman receiving a brain transplant isn’t about J.K. Rowling.
This is the first movie written by new AI trained only on Dr. Seuss books, Kanye West’s Twitter feed and the dreams of Gary Busey.
The Zone of Interest
Rudolf the conflicted Nazi! Had a garden full of rows! Of plants his wife liked to tend to! Horrifically juxtaposed! Then one sunny German day, Hitler came to say, “Rudolf of the triple Reich, won't you Holocaust tonight!” Then, how he wrestled with morality! As he puked and thought, “Why me?!” Rudolf the conflicted Nazi! This one’s really hard for comedy!

The popularity of the film has already led to a sequel, Höss Party 2.
Probably also the title of one of the Mission Impossible movies.
I actually did watch every other movie nominated for Best Picture this year, but The Zone of Interest is the only one I did Nazi!
