YES, WE' VE GOT A VIDEO

For me, Nasty is an episode of revelations. Many secrets get revealed, veils lifted, skeletons and dresses pulled out of closets. A dress Rick hopes nobody wants to talk about, and he gets called out by Vyvyan who is very much interested in the good ol' robe even though Neil is dressed in it. Sometimes little is enough to entertain our favourite punk, isn’t it? If only the pretty girly blue secret was the only one, right? What are we supposed to think about the things Rick does in the bathroom? And the beans?! You’re not getting out of this one, Neil! One thing we agree on with the People’s Poet is that we know everything about the beans, even though we’re not going to tell you, you pervy!

Speaking of pervies, let’s not forget about Rick though. The lad has so much more dirt hidden in the little room of his, apart from the notoriously famous attire. (We love the dress, Rick, and apparently so does Vyv!) But what about the Cosmopolitan, ey, Rick? We know and we’re sure everyone else does! You can be thankful Mike didn't dig deeper into that. 

My friends, let’s tackle one thing about Neil and his little tub episode. The bike he finds in there is one of my favourite moments, but it’s not too much more surprising than what the whole TYO can offer. Neil’s secret, my dear friends, is hidden behind a pot suspiciously well attached to his crotch. Now Neil, tell us the secret! Tell us, what’s inside there!

So, in conclusion, we learn a lot about the lads in this episode, the most important thing still yet to be brought to light.

Later in Time Rick gets busted for being a virgin (and we all already know it’s true!). In Nasty ALL the lads get busted for being virgins and the irony makes me giggle every time I rewatch that episode. The shocking fact that even Mike with all his smoothness around girls didn't have his V-card revoked…

…isn't that shocking at all since by that point of the second season we all know very well that there's little chance even one of our beloved four scumbags can possibly NOT be a virgin. How do we find out, though?

So, what is so Nasty in the episode, you ask? Oh god, let’s talk about when Mike and Vyv get some tapes and desperately try to get their "new video" to work so they can have Sex with the Headless Corpse of the Virgin Astronaut. Vyvyan works with the distinct elegance of his - from trying to get the video to work by "pressing" the buttons with a hammer all the way to keeping the machine clean and free from dust by soaking the thing through and through with washing up liquid.

Oh, have we got a video? So many times this question is asked. By Rick, SPG, Neil, even the gravedigger guy. Getting on Vyv’s nerves is a dangerous business, you know, Neil. You might end up being stuck through the window, you know?

In the end the most nasty thing is the trick Harry the Bastard played on everyone, dressing up as a vampire to get everyone busy and forget to return the video. 500 quid is 500 quid, ey, mates?

In the end I need to highlight my probably most favourite bit from The Young Ones and that is the one when Neil starts talking about Oscar Wilde. Thanks to this joke I had a much better time studying for the state exam because the thought of the examiners telling me to “talk about Oscar Wilde” was just too hilarious. Thanks for keeping me sane, TYO!

One last thing, the cherry on top, is Dawn French as the devil woman in the Painaway commercial. That hell is a bisexual heaven. *chef’s kiss*

which do you prefer: reading smut or writing it? Writing it. Very seldom can I find smut that I actually like with the kinks that I’m looking for, and the only person who knows how to get me off the way I like it is me.

what’s a smut turnoff for you? like when you’re reading it, it immediately brings you out of the smut zone? I mean there’s a certain cadence to good smut — there’s an eroticism that isn’t exclusive to smut but is necessary to writing good smut. Bad smut writers will just tell you what’s going on like they’re reading off a list. Good smut writers make sure you know it’s hot. I’m very seldom someone who plays with a lot of hard and fast rules, I like smut that could convince me to be into a kink I’m not, but just putting no effort in is a quick way to leave me bored.

what’s a kink you haven’t written that you wanna try writing? To be fair I think I’ve written a lot of kinks that I’ve wanted to. If I haven’t, then it’s just because I haven’t found the proper setup for it yet, though most of my smut drabbles are half-finished and will likely never see the light of day anyhow.

what’s your favorite sexual act to write? Ironically I think my favorite sexual act is... well, not very sexy at all. I like the intimacy and awkwardness of scenes that involve characters just... discussing the sex before it happens. What they want to include, what pet names they like, what’s a hard no and too much for them. Especially with monsterfucking, I like having the characters plan out, on screen, the best way to fit their bodies together. Not necessarily turning it into sex, even remaining fully clothed, but just figuring out how they want to do this without one party hitting their head or the other straining their back. I like the awkwardness of having a body, the strangeness of navigating that and someone else’s body too with them, the things that it says about the relationship. But I’m also AroAce, so, you know.

what about least favorite? Insertion after a certain point gets boring, which is the biggest crime in my book. There’s nothing interesting to say about a lot of thrusting with minimal other action, which is ironically probably why I tend to lean towards the more esoteric kinks.

what muse you've written is the easiest to write smut with? the most difficult? I don’t think any character I’ve written has given me a lot of trouble in writing smut about them. Moreso they just give me trouble in more typical ways, such as not knowing their internal voice yet and not being sure of how to write them in general. I like writing smut with Miranda, but that’s just a given for her being my go-to right now.
