Since some of the posts should be about stationery, why not start with two of my favorite pens. The squishy panda is my absolute favorite, purely because pandas are my favorite animal and who doesn't like something squishy? The panda is permanently on my desk within reach so whenever I'm thinking, the panda is there to help with the process. Unfortunately it makes the pen heavy to write with. The bear pen is also really nice to write with. There are so many authors I love to pieces, but if I have to choose one, lately I’ve been reading and re-reading shaggydogstail’s stories and they’re all so great. Lovely writing and perfect characterization. My absolute favourites are: Pounds, Shillings, Pence (and Love) and In Your Own Sweet Time.

23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.

Highland Fling, my non-magic Wolfstar AU, where Sirius backpacks through Scotland and meets a cute bartender at a pub in the highlands. I wrote it specifically because I was missing Scotland (I lived there for four years while I was at uni), and it still gives me nostalgia feels every time I think about it. It’s also probably the most romancey romance I’ve ever written, and romance is my favourite genre to write.

28. If someone were to draw a piece of fanart for your story, which story would it be and what would the picture be of?

Oh, goodness…. I’ve been so blessed to have a number of talented artists gift me art based on my fics over the years. I had a thought long ago that I would love to collaborate with (or commission, if I had money to burn) an artist on my A Conspiracy of Cartographers series. Having it illustrated is still a dream of mine, but it’s a huge project, and idk when I’ll get back to it. But if I could have one piece of art for one fic of mine, I think it would be neat to have a group picture of all the kids in Protego Club, my next gen Hogwarts LGBT club.

30. What inspires you to write?

Anything can. Mostly processing other stories and thinking “OK, but what if…?” Or I’ll think, “there should be a story about….” Often I will get an idea for a story, and then push it to a back burner and let it simmer, sometimes for years, until I feel like I can do it justice. And then there’s stories like Discards, where it just sort of came to me out of the blue one day, and I had to start writing it almost immediately.

31. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?

So many people have said such nice things over the years. I had someone compare me to Rowling once. People tell me I’ve made them laugh, or made them cry, or made them think differently about something. People have told me they were touched by a story I wrote, because they had never read something about someone like them before, or only rarely. It’s too hard to pick just one thing. There are a lot of nice people out there.

45. What is your all time favourite fanfic?

I … don’t think I have one. I don’t read fanfic very often these days, and I haven’t for years. I always feel guilty when I do, like that’s time I should be spending writing my own. I used to read fanfic, back in the day, but I feel like my tastes have changed a lot in recent years, and the things I loved then might not appeal to me as much now. If I had to recommend one fic that has stuck with me since I read it, it would probably be Sodom and Gainsborough, a non-magic Wolfstar AU written for the 2010 R/S Games by pandapens.
