This is a question related to the mtt hobbies answer that you wrote, the murder trio go around the multiverse and live in a place together, then what happend to horrortale au and horrortale papyrus? If the murder trio got to meet horrortale papyrus how would it go? (The meeting propably wouldnt end well with more canon mtt haha)

aaaaa i dont think it through to be honest when i talk about that concept. they just do. maybe horrortale's issues are already solved and aliza's already gone through horrortale and somehow fixed the hellhole (ALIZA MY GOAT PLEASE SAVE HORRORTALE I DON'T CARE IF IT TAKES 10 YEARS‼️‼️‼️) by the time that horror somehow meets dust and killer (since i dont see a feasible way that horrortale could be fixed outside of aliza or outside intervention.) or maybe he just visits from time to time. and by time to time i mean probably quarterly weekly. idk sorry i cant be bothered to think about it,,, they just do. anyways bad answer i KNOW I KNOW put the tomatoes down pls PLS

if the mtt met horror paps? horror would obviously do his little bantering thing with paps (he's probably revealing every single one of horror's embarrassing moments to them as they speak and horror's desperately trying to get him to shut up because he can tell. dust and killer are piiiiiiissed.) dust is probably like eerily calm during the whole thing. he manages to hold up a conversation pretty well with horror paps and gets along with him good enough without mentioning that theres a ghost version of him screaming asking why dust is ignoring phantom paps. meanwhile killer is mostly silent during it too probably only responding when he's spoken too. i mean like killer already doesn't like being around papyruses (papyri? papyri is so shitty i dont like it we will be saying papyruses) and then seeing horror's papyrus??? what the FUCK happened to horror paps??? sunken in eyes and cracks in his bones and those jagged teeth AND THEN THE FUCKING CROOKED SPAGHETTI????

needless to say once horror paps is gone all of them get into a biiiiig fight. dust drops the cool act because he's not gonna lose his cool around a papyrus but also he's absolutely fuming. he can tell that the changes that phantom papyrus has gone through have something to do with horror with the way that he's acting. killer is also incredibly irritated too (surpringly. being around papyruses just gets him like that) and seeing papyrus like that just gets him upset and angry. like wtf horror did you even TRY with keeping your papyrus safe??? at least killer reset his au and now papyrus is living an unharmed life (with minor concerns about killer's whereabouts but he'll ignore that for now) but horror paps looks so fucked up that there is no WAY that horror tried to prevent him from getting to that point

obviously they fight and many many many many MANY words are said about eachother's characters and the state they left their respective papyruses in. horror knows damn well that horrortale paps's state is because of him but he regretted telling paps to eat humans and neither dust nor killer knew the struggle of living with that guilt and how much he regrets it so they dont get to drag him for not trying hard enough to keep papyrus safe. dust is definitely getting some low blows here and there (but he's getting fucking assisted by phantom paps so he's got some of the deepest hitting insults) and he's definitely getting ganged up on for killing his papyrus and like. not even attempting to leave him alive in someway shape and form aside from the absolute insult that is phantom paps. surprisingly killer is winning this fight because he left his papyrus in a relatively good state. even though he's in a more emotional state than he normally is and would've absolutely OBLITERATED dust and horror in the fight in stage 2 he's actually doing pretty well. probably because hororr and dust dont really have anything to drag him on. they might bring up how something new papyrus is searching for killer but like,,,, is that really that bad compared to how they left their papyruses

I absolutely HATE underswap. Always have. The fact that it just swaps characters personalities with no actual changes annoys me so goddamn much. There's no actual thought put into any of the swaps! If you're going to make a roleswap, I feel like it should at least do something meaningful with the characters, because otherwise it's basically just doing an aesthetics swap. Which is fine I guess. But then WHY WAS IT SO FUCKING POPULAR... also the fact that everyone obsessed over swap papyrus was so fucking frustrating (not because I don't like papyrus, quite the opposite, but because the only time he was the center of attention was when he was basically just sans but tall and orange.) speaking of which why the fuck did the fandom decide that papyrus' color was orange it makes no goddamn sense. he's never even connected to that color in game. where as red and blue he absolutely is. sorry this became an absolutely insane rant

but your last point i am JUMPING UP AND DOWN AND YELLING AND POINTING because i have been saying this for!!! YEARS!!!! i GET that its meant to be complimentary to sans but papyrus has never used orange magic ONCE!! SURE he has a much warmer color palette but that makes the blue a damn striking contrast!!!! everyone who joins me in drawing blue undertale papyrus is the coolest sexiest bitch on this earth and you heard it here first

The fact that, oftentimes, even when the Sanses involved in all the Multiverse stuff still have living brothers they're supposedly attached to, those brothers still become irrelevant to their story has always saddened me a bit.

Especially because the Papyruses have the potential to be just as interesting as their brothers.

Like, imagine being Horrortale Paps and your brother gets taken away. Your brother who is the only one holding the little community you live in together. Your brother who is the one making sure that, despite the food scarcity, you still got something in your plate every day.

You worry endlessly about him. You spend days hoping he's still alive, holding fiercely onto that hope that has always defined you. And nobody else believes it. Sans had been starving himself for years, he was bound to drop dead at some point, they say. They all knew it would happen, and they didn't know how to comfort Papyrus when he still refused to believe it.

Papyrus learns to be a leader in his brother's absence. He learns to take charge, become more assertive, and stand up to Undyne. And yet, through it all, he still has the strength to remain kind. He still follows his passion for puzzles. He still cooks any chance he gets. His brother isn't there to act as a buffer between him and the world, so he has to adapt, but adapting doesn't mean giving up everything that is at his core.

And then, one day, Sans comes back. And he has some friends with him. He goes by Horror now, and he's got a bunch of new traumas to deal with. And his friends do too. Killer, Cross, Dust, they're all huddled together, hesitant to approach. Killer's putting on a front, he's all sharp edges and deceiving smiles, Cross is being all formal, he's walking on eggshells constantly, as if Papyrus would hurt him if he dared to step over a line that isn't even there, and Dust doesn't say a word. He doesn't even look at Papyrus.

Papyrus welcomes them all to his home. Horror seems uneasy at first. Papyrus is fine after all. He survived and he and Snowdin are both thriving as much as they can. For a bit, their chat is awkward and stilted, but, eventually, Horror asks: "You don't need me here anymore, do ya bro?". And Papyrus, who never gave up hope and never changed any more than he needed reassures him: "I don't need you, but I would like it if you stayed. I would like to know you're safe" and he's as loud as he's ever been, as bright and positive and, well, Horror can't say no to his little brother.

Cross, Killer, and Dust can also stay as often as they want. His brother has a big heart and he won't care about their bloody pasts. And, yeah, Killer and Cross will probably go back and forth between the Epic Sanses and Horrortale, but at least they have some stability now. At least they know that there is someone out there in the Multiverse who won't look at their scars, their high level, and their EXP and immediately think they're the scum of the Earth, and that's... well, that's nice.

On the other hand, imagine being Underswap Papyrus, and your brother was never taken from you, he chose to leave. And everyone assumes it must have been your fault. Perhaps you were too protective, and that's why. Perhaps you didn't support him enough. Perhaps you didn't get along. Perhaps you were straight-up abusive. The rumors abound both out in the Multiverse and in your own home because Blue didn't go quietly. He doesn't do quiet.

He said goodbye to all his friends while parading around with two literal gods and then he vanished into a golden portal. He dismissed all of your concerns and almost resented you for them. Because he's not weak he's not stupid and he can take care of himself. And you agree with all of those points, he's the coolest after all, but also you know nothing about the Multiverse and there are gods out there, so you can't know if being the coolest is gonna be enough to keep him safe.

Papyrus was never social. He got along with his brother, Ms. Muffet, and the man behind the door. That's his entire circle of friends. And now one of them is gone, and many more people than before have turned hostile. Because Blue is a nice person, he's nice to everyone, he's outgoing and social, of course, he wouldn't just leave his brother unless he did something to deserve that! Especially when everyone knows that Papyrus' HOPE is so low and that he's been struggling with depression for a long time. Blue wouldn't just leave.

Except he did.

Except he left.

Except he's not there anymore, because the Star Sanses could offer him glory and fame, and the love of thousands of AUs, and Papyrus could give him none of that. The only thing he could offer was his support for Blue's dreams and his unconditional love. And it was obvious to both of them that those two things could never be enough.

Papyrus doesn't change, because he was always well-rounded enough to make it by himself, just like his brother was. They were two whole people who never completed one another.

If they meet again, it won't be a sweet reunion like for the Horrortale brothers. It will be in the Omega Timeline if their AU ever gets destroyed. And they will be strangers making awkward small talk that will never develop into anything more than that, because neither of them wants the other to stay.

However, perhaps there in the Omega Timeline Papyrus can find a nice ending to his story. There are people there who are rejects just as much as he is. Who have wild rumors spread about them that are more or less founded than those about him. Other people who lost everything and are trying to find themselves with some help.

And maybe one day he can meet other Papyruses who dealt with being left behind, willingly or not. Horrortale Paps certainly wouldn't mind acquiring a lanky brother too

More handwriting headcanons, but this time it’s for various Papyruses!

Obviously there are more Papyruses that exist, these are just the main ones that came to mind first :P

Font names and reasoning under the cut:

Papyrus: Papyrus (because…. c’mon. we all know why)

Stretch: bRee (he gets lowercase letters because he’s a sleepy guy, and the only reason the Ts look a little sharp is because he was probably thinking about Smart Guy Shit again)

Edge: COLORS OF AUTUMN (upper case letters because loud, and sharp like his personality)

Crooks: kindergarden (his letters are big but not all caps because he’s lost some of the spark that would’ve otherwise made him more like OG Paps, and his handwriting is a little wibbly wobbly because head trauma impairs your motor skills sometimes, making it hard to keep your hand movements, or even just regular movements, smooth and steady)

Mutt: alanis hand (he gets lower case and small because he’s another sleepy guy with no confidence)

Charm (UL Paps): Bigdey Demo (dude gets fancy halfway cursive handwriting because he’s a fancy boy. being fancy and stylish is his whole thing, and he adds little hearts in sometimes if he’s in a particularly good mood)

Jupiter (OT Paps): PIGMENTDEMO (personality wise, I just feel like he’d be very similar to OG Paps, and they probably have a lot of the same habits and things, which could easily carry over into their writing. Their handwriting is similar, but still visually different at the end of the day)

Tango (DT Paps): Rock Salt (big letters and all caps here because he’s a louder, more outgoing guy, and even if he’s not super confident 24/7, that’s still the image that he likes to display to others, so they get the impression that he’s the most confident man on the planet. His handwriting is also a bit fancy in its own way, which kinda reflects his whole thing with dancing)

Phantom (DT Paps): Coffee House (ominous looking, sharp, and all caps, because he is literally the creepy dude who tells Dust to maim people and be homicidal. Sometimes he uses lower case, but when he’s especially worked up about something, he goes back to his all caps ways)

Cider (FT Paps): A Hundred Miles (his letters aren’t the biggest, but he still uses all caps. It’s nice looking, if a little on the messy side sometimes because he does so much with his hands on the farm, and they’re probably sore by the time he finishes)

Grim (RT Paps): Silent Reaction (all caps cursive is a nightmare to look at, and he’s been around long enough that he’s painfully aware of that, so he’s brought it down a few notches and uses proper capitalization. He’s had centuries to make his handwriting nice and neat, and while he does like making it look nice, he’s often more concerned about getting all of his work done. Little bonus is that he unintentionally makes the dot above the i look kinda like a candle flame)

A Papyrus related question. Since you have your own versions of Fresh, Ink and Error!Papyruses... have you ever thought of Dreamtale!Papyrus? (Or two, if not to remove Dream or Nightmare?)

Just curious about that, given that there are versions of Dreamtale where one of them is replaced by Papyrus...

Yes I do actually, let me dig around in my files real quick.

Dream Papyrus would have a sunset color scheme (soft yellows peaches, pinks, and purples) and his cape is made of clouds. He can sit on his cloud cape and fly around with it and he can sometimes be seen taking naps on it. He can disguise himself as a cloud in the sky as well. Honestly think this design is still pretty great, I really like the cloud pauldrons. Maybe if I were to redo it I would change the soft scalloped edged of his boots and gloves to be pointy instead and make them look like the sun (and rays).

Nightmare Papyrus! His color scheme would be stereotypical night colors (silver, midnight blue, deep indigo, and various shades of cool purple and almost-purple blues) and while he looks sticky and slimy, he doesn't feel that way. The darkness on his body is actual darkness and shadows, a dark cloud that he can conjure to haunt your sleep. He can disappear into shadows and summon sleep paralysis demons to torment people. He doesn't usually do that though, because he's just tired himself. Unlike Dream Papyrus who can rest peacefully, he cannot sleep without sleep paralysis and night terrors. He can also completely remove the darkness clinging to him but that would involve using it on people.

Bonus info: They are BOTH modeled after classic Papyrus, Nightmare Papyrus DIDN'T just turn into a swap because he's "evil angry sad boy! >:((" he actually takes his responsibilities seriously and thinks critically about using them. Neither is evil and their backstory is totally different from the Sanses because they are simply the extradimensional manifestation of dreams and nightmares from one specific branch of the multiverse. Dream Pap is also a lot more serious than he looks, because he's not just the dreams you have when you sleep but dreams for your future, just like how Nightmare Papyrus isn't just the horrors you can experience from sleep but also your worries and anxiety for the future.

The way you draw Classic and Fell papyruses are really cute. Perhaps it may happen in the New Pals comic, but I'd still like to see how those two would maybe react to each other? I feel like they'd be friends. What about you?

They would be great friends. They tend to agree about almost everything except violence, and maybe how exactly to deal with Sans being Sans. IDK why I haven't drawn them doing stuff together, but I feel like they might hang out more than Sans and UF Sans. I originally was going to have both fell brothers end up in Undertale in my initial idea of the New Pals comic, and both Paps together would burn down the house, but the scene with Sans being in Boss's "Torture Chamber" and committing pun-ishment crimes was more appealing (Along with some other major ideas I have yet to get to)

There was generally a lot more conflict and interest in the ideas I had by putting characters in Underfell vs Undertale
