This right here had me on the ropes. This has me on edge & having an out of body experience. My son just handled it better than I thought. He put me to shame & let me know that he is him. That is himothy. I had fun doing this regardless of what my face & reactions tell you. It was another opportunity to have fun & bond with my son. Parents, your children grow up so fast that you want them to have moments that are so ridiculous that people won’t even realize was true because it was so outlandish. Parents be able to laugh with your kids, be able to be laughed at, all for the memory, the joy & smile on your kids faced. Closing out Day 26 with a 28.2 mile ride passing my goal of 500 miles. A flurry of donations today helped push me well over $17,000 raised this year. I also want to give a shout out to my team “CCC” aka Children’s Cancer Crushers for their great work currently standing at 12th overall!! See this at the grocery store the other day, and figured I'd take a crack at this. I love hot stuff, so why not?

First, some info.

There's an official rating system for hot peppers. It's known as the Scoville scale, which uses "scoville heat units" (SHU) to rate how hot a pepper is based on the concentration of capsaicinoids, a group of chemicals that'll set off your body's heat-sensitive nerves. The higher the number, the hotter the pepper.

Bell peppers are a solid 0 SHU. Jalapenos can range from 1,000 SHU to 8,000 SHU. Habaneros are all the way up to 350,000 SHU.

This chip is made using Carolina Reapers and Scorpion Peppers, both of which are infamously super hot peppers that can clock in at ranges over 1,700,000 SHU (or more than 4x the heat of the hottest Habaneros).

This is approaching the spiciness of bear deterrent pepper spray (aka MACE), which is in the 2,000,000 - 5,000,000 SHU range.

Now, for the challenge:

The rules are simple: Eat the chip, then wait as long as possible before eating or drinking.

You'll earn one of four rankings, based on how long you hold out:

5 minutes: Powerless.

10 minutes: Powerful.

30 minutes: Supercharged.

1 hour: Invincible.

What’s good everyone! Happy Friday! We still crunched and what we crunched was HOT! The @paquichips Ghost Pepper chips were spotted along my travels so I had to get them. Woah! These chips are not for the sensitive tastebud crowd. My wife @morggs94 likes spicy foods (not as much as me) but she can handle some spice. Well, not today. The typical smell test wasn’t going to take place but, my wife, she’s a daredevil. She looked at me and said, “they’re like strong Doritos.” At this point before even tasting the chip I was disappointed. I grabbed a chip, put it in my mouth, but before I can even really enjoy it myself she takes a small bite of the chip and five seconds later her tongue is out of her mouth, she’s whining and then proceeds to slam her chip into my mouth so now I have two chips. They’re hot; but they’re enjoyable. I think the spice, flavor level is the perfect combination of heat and taste. The tongue burns, but the throat does not; which is a huge plus for me. You get a little camp fire in the belly, but nothing so extreme that you’re uncomfortable. In regards to the #onechipchallenge described on the back, highlighting the Carolina Reaper pepper, I’d probably pass. However, I thought I found my code on the bag but when I entered it said the code is invalid. Anyway, give them a try and let me know what you think! I know my eyes are red & it’s not because of any drug, alcohol, no cigarette or weed smoke or anything you could think of that would have my eyes blood shot red like Michael Jordan after a heavy night of drinking, cigars & gambling. Me & my oldest tried the infamous @paquichips one chip challenge. I aimed for. 5 mins & I barely survived to make it to that 5 mins. That is a different level of heat, I wasn’t expecting or prepared for. My son took it like a champ, I was sweating like I was fighting the flu or something.
