Empowering Boys: Insights from a Mom on Raising Confident Sons
The relationship between a mom and her son(s) is a unique and powerful bond that shapes both their lives. This dynamic encompasses a range of experiences, challenges, and joys that evolve as boys grow into men.
In early childhood, moms often play a primary nurturing role, providing comfort, care, and early education. They help shape their sons' emotional intelligence and social skills, setting a foundation for future relationships.

As boys enter adolescence, the relationship may face new challenges. Moms navigate supporting their sons' growing independence while maintaining open communication. This period often involves balancing guidance with allowing natural consequences and learning experiences.
Moms of boys often find themselves adapting to traditionally "boyish" interests and activities, from sports to video games. They may become unexpected experts in areas they never anticipated, driven by the desire to connect with their sons.

The mom-son relationship can significantly influence how boys view and interact with women throughout their lives. Moms have the opportunity to model respect, equality, and healthy emotional expression.
As sons grow into adults, the relationship often evolves into a friendship, with moms continuing to provide support and advice while respecting their sons' autonomy. Many adult men credit their mothers with shaping their values, work ethic, and approach to relationships.
Throughout all stages, the mom-son bond remains a cornerstone of emotional support, unconditional love, and mutual growth.
Women with Asperger's syndrome often experience the condition differently from men, leading to underdiagnosis or late diagnosis. They may be more adept at "masking" their symptoms, a process that can be mentally exhausting and lead to anxiety or depression.

Common characteristics in women with Asperger's include intense focus on specific interests, challenges with social interaction, and sensory sensitivities. However, their special interests may align more closely with societal expectations for women, making them less obvious.
The autism puzzle piece has been a controversial symbol in the autism community. Originally intended to represent the complexity of autism, it has been criticized for implying that autistic individuals are incomplete or need fixing.
Many autistic self-advocates prefer alternative symbols like the infinity loop or rainbow spectrum, which better represent neurodiversity and acceptance.
The debate surrounding this symbol highlights the evolving understanding of autism and the importance of listening to autistic voices in shaping autism representation.

Some organizations still use the puzzle piece, while others have moved away from it in response to community feedback.
Autism colors are visual representations used to raise awareness and show support for the autism community. The most well-known color scheme is the autism awareness ribbon, featuring a puzzle piece pattern in bright primary colors: red, yellow, and blue. These vibrant hues symbolize the complexity and diversity of the autism spectrum.
However, in recent years, a shift has occurred towards using gold or a rainbow infinity symbol. Gold represents the value and preciousness of autistic individuals, while the rainbow infinity symbol emphasizes neurodiversity and the wide spectrum of autistic experiences.
Some autistic self-advocates prefer cooler tones like blue and purple, which they find less overwhelming. Ultimately, the choice of autism colors reflects ongoing discussions about representation and acceptance within the autism community.

In "Life, Death & Bialys: A Father/Son Baking Story," author Dylan Schaffer writes a unique memoir about how he struggled to reach closure with his dying father Flip after being estranged since he and his siblings were left alone with their mother decades earlier. Sons ..Allahumma Barik Lahum. Mashallah 💞it's never a dull moment here for sure. They are goofy, fun to be around, funny as heck, makes bed time extra crazy, playful, energetic, always hunting for a snack, ❤️ kisses 👄and hugs me more than I would like but I am not complaining. I never knew being a Boy only mama would make my life as enjoyable as I thought being a girl Mama would. 🤪 Inshallah I will reunite with my daughter in heaven someday and we'll have lots of fun. Happy international sons day? Why not. I celebrate my sons everyday but I would not miss a chance to honour them extra special if there was one day dedicated to them! Besides offcourse their birthdays 🤪🤪 . . . . #sonsday #internationalsonsday #parentingboys #boymamalife https://www.instagram.com/p/CUYfL-5surQ/?utm_medium=tumblr

A Mom of Boys (MOB) on Raising Boys
A Mom of Boys (MOB) on Raising Boys
I’m a #Boymom (3 biological sons, and a co-parent to my foster son). I’m immersed in a chaotic boy-world, even our dog is a boy. This world of mine contains a lot of toilet humour. It’s messy and noisy. But it’s mine and in my testosterone fuelled circus – I am the Queen. I’ve often joked that my legacy is never going to be:  I raised “assholes”. So I’m not easy on my guys. Don’t get me wrong – I…

The expectations we have about others as well as our children can create instances in our lives where we unconsciously withhold love. Take a few moments and think about the last couple of challenges you had with your teenager and what expectation did you bring into the situation that let you down. I have reached the part of parenthood now where am having to start disciplining my child. Instilling boundaries, making and enforcing rules, all that good stuff. I read. I'm a psych major, I have always thought I would find a way to do those things without spanking. I don't want to spank, I didn't like getting spanked. But when Push comes to shove my@little dude pushes the buttons. I say no -he starts screaming. I say don't jump on me- starts flailing and kicks me in the beans. I say let pick up our toys - he melts my nerves with creaming or just starts throwing things. I don't think spanking is necessarily effective but it's what I know. I was spanked, my parents were spanked, I'm sure their parents were spanked and so on. But it's 2019, I'm grown. i read. We know it's not great. But what baffles me is that just about every resource says don't spank. And yet none of these sources have any information on what to do instead it's a whole lot of why not to and don't. Surely with all the child research and advancements in the fields of psychology there has to be some testing that's kid and parent approved. I mean I'm a human being. I have limits and last nerves. I have blood pressure and eardrums. When your in the shit it's hard not to take a tantrum personally or lose your mind and revert to ways you know don't work but I gotta get something outta this deal too. So here we are. I am learning that perspective is the mother of change. Perhaps if we know how our kids are feeling then we might understand why they are acting the way they do and we might not take it so personally and maybe it won't break us so easily. -posted@some@good stuff with this. Hopefully this helps. But also Good luck. The next best time time to plant a tree is TODAY 😊🥑 Here are the seeds of the avocados we've been eating a few weeks back. How fast they grow! We're taking them to the #farm tomorrow so they can find their perfect place in the sun. We'll have the kids help choose a spot for each tree based on where they'd like to sit and read a book on picnic chairs several years later. Think that would help stretch imagination a bit more 😉 . . . #Parenting #parentinggoals #parentingboys #homemaking #homegrown #homegrownfood #growyourownfood #farmlife #lifeonthefarm #farmingphilippines #sustainability #sustainableliving https://www.instagram.com/p/By8v0khntIN/?igshid=ca18z0bsnjrg

I hear from a lot of parents struggling with this challenge. The first question I ask them is if they believe that if they tell their child not to hang around with that person or group how do you think that will land on them? Even though we may think we know better we can’t put ourselves in a position where we need to control who another human being interacts with. Even if our gut tells us it is wrong. We don’t own our children. If you parent from this perspective you are going to create lots of chaos in your families life. If we try to control our children and forbid them from seeing xyz. What do you think will be their reaction? Yes, you aren’t telling me who to hang out with and I am going to spend more time with them because that is something that I can control. No matter how difficult things become we have to think about how we are trying to control them and step back and let them have the relationships they desire. Then be there if the bottom drops out from under them. Either way they are going to do whatever they want. so why not be on the side of Unconditional love and support instead of the enemy trying to control them. That is being a connected parent. 🤘#awareparenting #dadsofdaughters #momsanddads #parentblog #parentingteensishard #parentingteenagers #parentingteens #parentingtips #parenting101 #momofateen #lifewithteenagers #dadswithdaughters #consciousparenting #mommystress #parentinggirls #parentingboys #parentproblems #bonusmama #positiveparenting #singleparenting #americanmom #beingamomishard #mummytoboys #daddystired #intuitiveparenting #exhaustedparents #momneeds #dadsofteens #consciousparent #consciousparenting #stressedmom (at Boston, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7i1pb4lofF/?igshid=58ksxvohjy8d
