He stood at the entrance of the chapel, the scent of the ocean mingling with the faint aroma of burning candles. The dim light cast long shadows on the stone walls, and the somber atmosphere was palpable. He noticed her rising to leave, her eyes downcast and burdened by grief. "You needn't leave on my account," he said softly, his voice carrying a hint of warmth. "This place holds a different meaning for everyone who enters. Your presence here is as valid as mine." He took a few steps inside, his eyes briefly scanning the array of candles, each flame a silent tribute to a lost soul. "I'm not a religious man," he admitted, a touch of uncertainty in his tone. "But I understand the need for solace, for a place to reflect and remember."

the lit candle was gently placed alongside the others. heart grieved at how many were lit, a physical testament to the immense losses suffered in the previous months, but her heart wept more that she had lit four. the weight upon her shoulders made rising to her feet difficult. if the ghosts would speak to her then she would struggle to leave more so. was their silence a sign of disapproval or a kindness? with eyes downcast, she almost didn't realize another had entered. ❝ i was about to leave. the chapel is yours. ❞

by Samundra Man Singh Shrestha Lord Shiva is Adi Yogi and the Adi Guru. He is the foremost among the yogis and the first teacher of the science of Yoga. He is Yogeshwara, the lord of Yoga. Maheshwara, the Great God and Bhuteshwara, the lord of the five elements from which the universe is created. Shiva first imparted his knowledge of yoga to Parvati. Also, for the good of mankind, he taught the science of Yoga to the ancient Rishis who passed on this knowledge to the rest of humanity. All yogic and tantric systems consider him as the first Guru.

Shiva with Ganesha
Both Ganesha and Shiva are Om. Shiva is Om in its transcendent state. Ganesha is Om in its state as underlying and ruling all other forces. -- Bengali lithography

This girl is a ray of hope for all those children outside this building who have their eyes on this verdict. But for the defense counsel, this case is about faith. Nothing beyond that. Your honour, if faith is above all, I want to end this with a story...
Shivji smiled and said, "Parvati, sin has been divided into three categories. First is that which humans commit knowingly or unknowingly, and they can atone for it by apology or various other methods. Second category is known as atrocities. Like murder, abduction and other such heinous crimes. Even they can be forgiven to some extent. But the third category is known as a great sin. And there is no forgiveness for it." This is where Parvatiji interrupted Shivji, and asked him in astonishment. "Lord, Raavan abducted Sitaji. It should be known as an atrocity. Why do you call it a great sin?" Shivji smiled again and said, "Parvati, a sin that affects humanity and spirituality for centuries to come, falls under great sin. I would have forgiven Raavan, if he had abducted Sita as Raavan. But he disguised himself as a sage, and this shall affect sages and religion for centuries," and there is no forgiveness for it, your honour. And he is Raavan! Raavan! He shouldn't be pardoned. He has betrayed his profession. He has betrayed innocent children. He has betrayed you, me, and Mahadev himself! He used his name to commit a dreadful crime. I claim a death penalty. To be hanged till death!.. I'm sorry, your honour. For raising my voice.

A Glimpse into the Spiritual and Cultural Richness of Jammu and Kashmir

Kashmir, often referred to as "Paradise on Earth," is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, serene lakes, and snow-capped mountains. Beyond its natural beauty, Kashmir is also a land rich in religious and cultural heritage. The region is home to diverse religious places in Kashmir and there are vibrant festivals in Jammu and Kashmir that reflect its historical and spiritual significance.
Religious Places in Kashmir
1. Shankaracharya Temple: Perched on the Shankaracharya Hill, the Shankaracharya Temple is one of the oldest and most revered Hindu shrines in the Kashmir Valley. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this ancient temple is believed to have been visited by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. The temple offers a panoramic view of Srinagar and the Dal Lake, making it a spiritual and visual treat for visitors.
2. Hazratbal Shrine: Located on the northern shores of the Dal Lake, the Hazratbal Shrine is the holiest Muslim shrine in Kashmir. It houses a relic believed to be a hair of the Prophet Muhammad. The shrine's pristine white marble structure and its serene surroundings attract devotees and tourists alike. The annual celebrations during the festivals of Eid and Milad-un-Nabi see a significant influx of pilgrims.
3. Amarnath Cave Temple: The Amarnath Cave Temple is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated at an altitude of 3,888 meters, the temple is famous for the naturally occurring ice Shiva Lingam. The annual Amarnath Yatra, which takes place in the summer months, draws thousands of devotees who undertake a challenging trek to pay their respects.
4. Jama Masjid: Situated in the heart of Srinagar’s old city, the Jama Masjid is a stunning example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. Built in 1394 by Sultan Sikandar, it features 378 wooden pillars and an expansive courtyard. The mosque is not only a place of worship but also a center for social and cultural gatherings.
5. Kheer Bhawani Temple: Located in the village of Tulmulla, about 25 kilometers from Srinagar, the Kheer Bhawani Temple is dedicated to Goddess Ragnya Devi. The temple is named after the rice pudding (kheer) that is offered to the goddess by devotees. The annual festival of Mela Kheer Bhawani, held on the occasion of Zyestha Ashtami, sees thousands of devotees thronging the temple.
Festivals in Kashmir

1. Navroz: Navroz, the Persian New Year, is widely celebrated by the Shia Muslim community in Kashmir. It marks the beginning of the spring season and is a time for family gatherings, feasting, and prayers. Traditional foods, such as lamb dishes and sweets, are prepared, and homes are decorated to welcome the new year.
2. Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha: Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, while Eid-ul-Adha commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Both festivals are celebrated with great fervor in Kashmir. Special prayers are held in mosques, and families come together to share festive meals and distribute alms to the needy.
3. Maha Shivaratri (Herath): Maha Shivaratri, locally known as Herath, is a significant festival for Kashmiri Pandits. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is celebrated with night-long vigils, prayers, and the offering of walnuts as a symbol of fertility. Special dishes, such as fish and rice, are prepared for the occasion.
4. Baisakhi: Baisakhi, primarily a harvest festival, is celebrated with enthusiasm by the Sikh community in Kashmir. It also marks the Punjabi New Year and the formation of the Khalsa in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh. The festival involves prayers, kirtans (devotional songs), and community feasts known as langars.
5. Hemis Festival: The Hemis Festival, held in the Hemis Monastery in Ladakh (part of the greater Kashmir region), is a vibrant celebration dedicated to Lord Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche). The festival features colorful masked dances, traditional music, and rituals performed by the monks. It is one of the most significant Buddhist festivals in the region.
6. Tulip Festival: While not a religious festival, the Tulip Festival in Srinagar has become a major cultural event. Held in April, the festival showcases the stunning bloom of tulips at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, Asia's largest tulip garden. The event attracts tourists from across the globe and highlights Kashmir’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Conclusion
Kashmir’s religious places and festivals are a testament to its rich and diverse cultural tapestry. These sacred sites and celebrations not only provide spiritual solace to the faithful but also offer a glimpse into the region’s historical and cultural richness. Visiting these places and participating in the festivals provides an enriching experience that deepens one’s understanding of Kashmir’s unique heritage.

{ranveer singh, 35, non-binary, they/them} We are so glad to see you safe, RULER MUNJAL BHATI of THE MUGHAL EMPIRE! It’s dangerous out in the world these days, but I hear that you are SARCASTIC and ADAPTABLE enough to handle it. Just don’t let your NONCHALANCE bring you down! Stay on your guard, because with your secret being at risk for exposure, you wouldn’t want everyone to find out you idolize the person responsible for the death of the previous monarchs.
b a s i c s //
birth name: munjal hassan bhati
birthday: tbd
occupation: ruler of the mughal empire
orientation: asexual / demiromantic
status: betrothed to parvati sharma
languages: gujarati, hindi, english, persian
character influences: ganondorf (tloz), gellert grindelwald (hp/fb), saruman the white (lotr), suguru geto (jjk), shimura danzo (naruto).
tarot card: the emperor
p e r s o n a l i t y //
The confidence that a childhood of love and ease under the rule of the Sharma's made them fearless and cocky. They've never needed affirmations of their worth nor did they worry about needing to protect themselves from negative forces; they had all the necessary tools to prevail in their belt and in their mind. Highly intelligent and well-trained in combat and strategy, Munjal used these traits to gain whatever they wanted, whenever they wished it. However, corrupt wasn't a word to describe them. They have morales, even if a bit a crooked and selfish, and hurting the empire they grew up in isn't a thought in their mind. Regardless of thirst for power or influence, Munjal has a gentleness about them. As the older Bhati twin, Munjal loves attention and praise whether it's negative or positive; they love their younger sibling with everything they have and will go great lengths to protect them, especially now that they've secured the throne of the empire. They're a bit of a nuisance; they've turned down every betrothal, their sarcastic tongue gets them in trouble, and can be a bit flighty and mean when necessary (or when hungry). Their softer side is a rarity, protected by sarcasm, politics, and nonchalance but they're not unlevelled in thought - they know when to quit.
p r e s e n t d a y //
The death of the Sharma's didn't quite come as the surprise they were hoping for; they had made a terrible decision to gather the grieving and non-grieving nations from around the world under the guise of a grand memoriam that turned out to be a party. Munjal knew that it had placed a bitter taste in the mouths of the bereaved yet they figured that if there were to be an attack, the might and power of their military would push them back. They were wrong, of course. Usually one to gather gossip with wide eyes and an amused smile, Munjal stopped laughing when the empire was sent into chaos. They grew anxious, awaiting the day when the remaining sharmas took the throne and brought peace to the land; but it never came. Day after day, the yelling and fighting in the streets worsened - and every day, Munjal grew angrier. Angry until they could stand it no longer. Once idolizing the Sharma's, inheriting their empire wasn't exactly what they thought it would be either; chaos had not only erupted in the streets of Delhi, chaos was also written behind the scenes of their empire as well. And now it was their job to gain the respect and support of an empire torn by death. Only two questions remained, however, who had done in their empresses? And when could they meet them?
