I can never let Astarion Ascend so I looked at the new kisses for Ascended Astarion on YouTube and I'm not sure what I was expecting but no that. No hate to anyone who likes it or Ascended Astarion, you do you. But damn, all the kiss animations made me horribly nervous. The way that Tav actually looks nervous or scared at points. The way that Astarion just pushes Tav away when he's done, or puts his hand up like "Conversation over now." Or jerks Tav around like he is insepecting his plaything It's really upsetting.
Some of the differences that I noticed was Ascended Astarion makes you get down on your knees for him, whereas regular spawn Astarion will bend down for you if you are playing a short race.
Ascended Astarion always ends if first, bc he has to be the one in control/gets what he wants until he's bored. Spawn Astarion and Tav end the kiss together, and both look happy.
Ascended Astarion only touches Tav to stop the kiss, or bite them. Spawn Astarion has his hands on Tav during the whole kiss and vice versa.
Also side note the 2nd kiss animation where Astarion stops Tav from coming in for more kissing by pushing their face to the side really looked like Astarion slapping Tav to me, and I had to replay it to notice that it was him just turning Tav's face. But boy did that make me realize that Ascended Astarion probably would hit their "Consort" during a heated argument if he wanted to.

(Two Times Eddie Scratches Steve's Back)
😴—————😴 1.
“Getting tired, baby?”
Steve hums. He wants to feign wakefulness. Pay attention to the rest of the movie that Eddie put on. Keep talking and cuddle in close and eat junk food. But he’s wiped. A long shift at Family Video earlier in the day with the addition of a few errands he had to run afterwards, tired doesn’t even cover what he’s feeling. Something more akin to mush. Just a heavy fog. Partially floating. Partially sinking into his spot on the couch. “Could say that,” he mutters.
The movie’s dialogue comes to an abrupt stop, most likely from Eddie pausing it. Then, the player whirs as it rewinds the tape. The TV crackling when it gets turned off. Hands wrap around Steve’s, warm and welcoming. They squeeze and tug lightly. “Alright, Stevie, let’s head up to bed,” Eddie murmurs.
He follows in a sludge. Through their apartment’s hallway, past the bathroom, and straight into the center of their bedroom. Steve shucks his pants off, replaces the polo he’d been wearing with a plain grey t-shirt, and unceremoniously collapses into bed. Behind him, Eddie chuckles, still carefully getting dressed into his pajamas. His hand gently taps at Steve’s left calf, ushering him to move up the bed and over to his spot. The left side meeting his skin like an early morning breeze.
Once Eddie lays on his side, Steve grabs for his right hand. Places it on his back. And then shimmies down into the mattress. One arm under his pillow, the other laying between them. He opens his eyes, raises his eyebrows slightly, and tries for his best pleading glance to where Eddie’s hand lays on his back.
He sighs into his position when Eddie lightly rolls his eyes, but immediately works his hand under Steve’s t-shirt. His eyes flutter close again, but he doesn’t fall asleep quite yet. Instead, he quietly requests, “Tell me about your day?”
With the tips of his fingers, Eddie begins by tracing the edges of Steve’s scars. Over the thick tissue, around the planes of sensitive and plush patches. He takes an easy breath and begins to whisper, “Well, I woke up while you were in the shower this morning. And I didn’t want to interrupt your little concert that you were having—“
“I don’t sing in the shower,” Steve feebly argues.
Eddie chuckles under his breath. “Hmm, must live next door to George Michael then,” he muses. His thumb presses into the top of Steve’s spine, running down in a single line. “But I didn’t want to interrupt, so I went out for a little walk around the complex. There weren’t any strong winds. Nobody was outside that early except for a couple smokers. The light breeze was on my face. Felt amazing,” he murmurs. His hand flattens against Steve’s back, swiping up and down and over his shoulder blades. Pressing more firmly where resistance meets his touch.
Continues, “But then, my little walk was interrupted. By the couple that lives in apartment 6A, y’know, on the second floor? Screaming and hollering at each other. They were arguing about—“
“Her dirtbag husband cheating, which was obvious from the start,” they say in unison. Steve snorts and nuzzles his head further into his pillow. His eyes droop more with exhaustion, but his breathing doesn’t completely slow. Still looking on at Eddie for more.
“Yeah,” Eddie sighs. “Told you about it when you got out. You then called Robin and told her all about it. I went to the kitchen while you guys talked. Smiled to myself as I poured coffee into our special mugs.” Steve’s mug is a yellow one that says ‘Keep a Smile on Your Face’ in red text. Eddie’s is a Seattle Pike Place Market mug—white with an array of colorful fruit on it. “Put creamer in mine, the vanilla one that you complain is way too sweet. Splash of whole milk in yours. Set it out on the dining table and made you toast; heavy coat of butter, thin layer of strawberry jam—not jelly.”
During Eddie’s recount, Steve has shuffled closer. Squishing his left arm between their bodies. Nearly nose to nose with each other. Eddie drags his blunt fingernails in counter-clockwise circles on Steve’s lower back, almost tickling him with how light the pressure is. He hums in delight.
“Grabbed oranges for us. Sat at the table and waited. Did the daily crossword in the newspaper before you had the chance, which made you slightly annoyed, but not furious.” Eddie leans into Steve’s space more, pressing a chaste kiss to the tip of his nose. Grins to himself when Steve closes his eyes and smiles back. “Gave you the sports page. Which you read while peeling our oranges. And then you passed me yours, I removed the pulp from it. We ate in silence. I sat and thought about how much I love you,” he whispers almost like a confession.
Steve doesn’t say anything, instead basking in the soft touch he’s been given. Soaking it all in, letting himself be drenched with it. His chest warms pleasantly and his stomach flips at Eddie’s words.
Eddie taps his index finger over several areas of Steve’s back. Counting with the lowest and gentlest voice he can muster. Takes the edge of his fingernail and traces lines between the spots. “What’re you doing, Eds?” Steve sleepily asks.
“Making constellations,” he mutters. Eyes watching where his hand moves. “See, here’s a star—“ His finger pats. “—And here’s another,” he states, drawing another line. “There. That’s one constellation. Here comes one more.” Steve lets him do this. It’s the first time this has happened, but he certainly doesn’t want it to be the last. There’s four more constellations that he makes before running his palm heavily against the whole of Steve’s back. “Anyway,” he sighs. “Then, you went to work. And so I cleaned a bit. Did the dishes, wiped the table, organized our movies. Watched a couple reruns of Family Ties. Took a nap and dreamed about you.”
“Dream?” Steve mumbles.
Eddie kisses his clothed shoulder. “Kissed you in it,” he answers. “But I woke up. Made us some dinner. Spaghetti, your favorite. Even grated the parmesan by hand. I know—I’m a very fancy guy, it comes with the name.” Steve makes a half-hearted snort, too muffled by his exhaustion to be a real sound. “You came home. Made my dream come true, kissed you by the door. We ate. Started watching Animal House, with my insistence, even though you tried to protest.”
“You don’t like it,” Steve sighs.
“I do,” Eddie insists softly. “I just like to tease you a little. But I didn’t tonight because I could tell you had a very long day. Dead on your feet, sweetheart. Then, before I knew it, you were half-asleep against my shoulder.” He kisses Steve’s forehead this time. On his cheek. The lobe of his ear. Another to his shoulder. However, he doesn’t go in for one on the mouth. Steve’s breaths have completely slowed, his lips puffing slightly with each exhale, and his eyes remain closed and relaxed. There’s already a line of drool creeping to run down his cheek.
Eddie drags his hand one more time down Steve’s spine. “Night, baby,” he whispers. But it’s washed out by Steve’s soft snores. He tucks the comforter around them, tighter than it was before. Lays himself half over Steve’s back. And kisses the back of his head. Ready for the next time he’ll do this all over again.
——— 2.
Eddie draws him in a little closer. Pressing them against each other’s sides. Steve wraps his arms around Eddie’s waist. Sets his head on his shoulder. And Eddie digs his chin into the top of his head.
They’re an hour into The Labyrinth when Steve gives a sleepy nudge to Eddie’s hand. Reaching behind himself to place Eddie’s palm on his back.
“Over the shirt or under?” Steve is asked.
“Over,” he answers through a sigh. Leans his full body weight into Eddie and watches the next several minutes of their movie knowing Eddie has him. Enjoys the way the dull scratches move his t-shirt, the soft rustle of his clothing being shifted. How his nails dig into him a little bit more on his softer parts, but how they traverse the scarred blades with caution. The circular motions of his fingers a gentle lull.
He hums at the sensation. Falling into it all a little more.
Eddie always enjoys giving Steve back scratches if only to see him fall asleep. Even if it’s on the couch, while they’re watching one of his favorite movies. He switches between etched lines and tracing the shape of Steve’s shoulders blades. Goes from circular scratches to whole palm sweeps. Just to make sure that Steve continues his late night nap. He can always tell when it’s been a long day by two things: when Steve takes a nap, and how he asks for his back to be scratched.
Sometimes, Steve will just ask the question. Usually when he’s more lucid or if he’s still slow to waking up. But, typically, it’s forcing Eddie’s hand on his back. Leaning into the touch. Nuzzling in close and all too warm.
It’s forty minutes later when Steve does wake back up. Rousing gently, slowly. Instead of startling awake like he does with a nightmare. His shoulders shift, shimmying nearly. Arms tighten around Eddie’s waist. Rubbing his cheek against Eddie’s shoulder, lips smearing on his shirt, the drool wetting Eddie’s skin a bit. “Mm, sorry,” he mumbles, “fell asleep during the movie.”
“You’re alright, sweetheart,” Eddie murmurs right back. “Back scratch must’ve been good.”
“Should get a job as a professional back scratcher,” Steve says. But his words slur slightly, as if he’s already trying to go back to sleep. It probably doesn’t help that Eddie is still moving his nails over Steve’s shoulders, up to the base of his neck, down his spine.
Eddie snorts. “Getting sleepy, baby?”
“Yeah,” Steve admits with a sigh.
“Alright, Stevie, let’s get you to bed.”
And he starts their nightly routine all over again. Shutting off the movie. Hauling Steve up. Indulging when he wants a back scratch. Telling him about his day.
“It was a great day,” he begins, “because I was able to love you.”

korean resources list (120524 edition)
I've scheduled quite a few Korean langblr vocab and grammar posts up until the end of May! Some are lifted straight from my own resources, most notably my book (서울대 한국어 6A) which I'm using as a study guide. The rest is personal notes, relevant media I found, explanations, examples, and writing/practice prompts.
First, here are some general resources! I'll continue to add on more to this post in the future.
My korean langblr posts: ● I/ 1. 기업에 필요한 인재 // The talent a company needs (vocab and grammar posts for passing a job interview) ● next: I/ 2. 공익과 사생활 // public vs private life
● audio/video: These don't offer translations for the most part, but are good for ~immersion~. x Naver's 오디오클립 [desktop] [playstore] - has daily news, radio, podcasts, some free audiobooks and more. It covers anything from regular news outlets to old womens' wellbeing advice. You may need to dig through a whole lot of world economy and financing though lol x EBS Documentaries [youtube channel] - videos about anything and everything, usually ranging from 10 minutes to half an hour ish. Since it often covers regular people in their home and work, you can find very natural language. Besides that there's a whole bunch of videos on history and important topics from both in Korea and all over the world. x Yeongji!!! [차린건 쥐뿔도 없지만 youtube channel] - this ended a while ago but the girl (a musician herself) gets drunk with famous people in her apartment kitchen. There's a ton of editions; Casual language, mostly fun and goodlooking people, dumb humour. Many are subbed in English too!
● reading: x Humans of Seoul [@'humans-of-seoul on tumblr] - like HONY, photographs with short personal anecdotes from the conversation. Mostly simple, natural language, and a translation to English! One thing I like especially for beginner learners, is that there's a couple posts for most of these people with quotes that can be understood on their own as well as together with the other parts. x A game I play has Korean localisation including voiceacting on a lot of quests. I try my best to actually read/listen and comprehend instead of skipping over. If like games, try downloading the Korean language patch or playing a Korean-made game!
● translation/dictionary: Please use these instead of google translate for Korean if you can!! x Papago [desktop] [playstore] and Naver Dictionary [desktop] [playstore] - (these link to eachother as well.) I'd recommend using Naver's Korean dictionary over the English-Korean one whenever you can for definitions and explanations. The English one besides also just being very good regardless, also has a very useful feature where it includes many examples - usually translated - including weverse (livestream) subtitles. Check it out!
feel free to comment or reblog or message me with recommendations.

Can i cry in your inbox again, plz? I'm rewatching 4-6 seasons and it just pisses me off so much that Hirst spent so much time on general weirdness but never gave Ivar any decent character development! Ivar (and Alex's talent) carried the show after Ragnar kicked the bucket, but in the end the whole journey was... pointless. The "redemption" arc was so half-assed it felt like an insult. I wish Ivar either got a real redemption arc, or went off a deep end and even madder than the whole "i am a god" thing. But no. And the death...god, he deserved an epic death, not just "bonding time with Hvitsrek gone bad" shit. If I had god powers, I'd rewrite it and have Ivar patch things up with brothers he hasn't killed yet, and maybe redeem himself by returning to Kattegat and saving it or the whole North from something like outside invasion. Something that would cement him into a legend. Maybe even give him a love interest that doesn't look like his dead wife or a psychotic priest. Ugh. So much potential squandered in favor of absolutely dumb decisions and weird kinky foreplays.
If you could, what would you change in the later seasons story arc?
oh I totally welcome crying in my inbox, by all means go ahead lol. that said...I have my gripes with hirst (of course), but I actually really liked the overall thrust of ivar's arc? to me, he's ultimately a tragic character and his major theme from 4b-6b is this process of self-annihilation, a form of very slow suicide, if you will--and I find that a lot more poignant and compelling than a straightforward heroic/redemption arc. in the second half of 6b (one of his best seasons imo), he gets the thing he says he's wanted this whole time--to be famous and have a legacy that outlasts him--but it isn't a happy ending, it comes with a cost and he dies afraid, and I felt it was very...human, much more so than e.g. bjorn's big heroic death scene at the beginning of the season. ivar dies chasing after ragnar's ghost, after the father who abandoned him. it is TRAGIC.
this is not to say that I don't take issue with the way his entire storyline played out! I think the ivar the god/ivar in kievan rus plots from 5b-first half of 6b were a MESS. I attribute a lot of this to hirst's misogyny problem (compounded by his ableism problem) and his failure to really work through the ivar/freydis relationship in a thoughtful way. I think that hirst struggles with writing female characters--even those like lagertha that he clearly is fond of--because he fundamentally views them as an extension of his male characters (wives and mothers), and not really as characters in their own right. this is a major, major weakness in his writing, and I think it really comes out in the ivar/freydis relationship. like, ivar kills his wife and child in 5b. that's some bleak shit! that's really fucking dark! and then 6a/first half of 6b never meaningfully deals with the fallout, it sort of tries to sidestep it with the igor and katia...thing...but it just doesn't work for me. so that's the big thing I'd change for ivar's arc. either he works through the 5b fallout or he doesn't, but it cannot be half-assed.

The Beginning of a New Book | Chapter 3
Pairing: Bellish (Belle x Hamish Macbeth, from Hamish Macbeth)
Rating: E (Eventually)
Summary: After a dangerous breakup, Belle finds herself stuck in the little town of Lochdubh.
WARNING: This fic will contain major spoilers for season 2, episode 4 of Hamish MacBeth. It takes place shortly after that episode.
--------------------------
Goals
1. Get Esme to stop worrying.       1a. Make effort to leave house and do things other than climb rocks.       1b. Stop cleaning like a mad woman.       1c. Smile at Rory.
2. Make actual friends.      2a. Suggestion: Hamish (read: not his dog)      2b. Follow-up Suggestion: TV John
3. Learn to knit so that you aren’t wearing men’s flannel for the rest of your life.
4. Knit stylish hat. Why is it so cold in Lochdubh all the time?
5. Stop trying to drink vodka. You are in Scotland, and you do not need to be reminded of Sergei.
6. Become knowledgeable about whisky.       6a. Ask TV John to teach you. Or maybe Barney.
Belle had never kept a journal before, but when Rory had presented her with one, she felt obliged to write in it. It wasn’t so bad, except that when she thought about what she wanted to write, it mostly included tidbits about the rocks and strange patches of grass. Perhaps that had been Esme’s plan all along—have Rory get her something that would show her just how empty and sad her life had become.

Round 1 match 6A
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Black-bellied Whistling Duck is not sexually dimorphic, which means females and males look the same. They have reddish brown backs and black bellies, greyish brown heads, and a bright red or pink bill. Like the Fulvous Whistling Duck, they have some gooselike qualities, including long legs and neck, and slower wingbeats than most ducks.
The Surf Scoter is sexually dimorphic, meaning the females look different from the males. Females are dark brown all over with two white patches on the face, making them look very similar to the White-Winged Scoter. One way to tell them apart is that the white patch in front of the eye is more vertically oriented on the Surf Scoter.

Android Phones with Exynos Chipset Need Security Updates
Last Updated: 29 March 2023
Google's Project Zero found numerous vulnerabilities in the Exynos chipset used by a variety of Android phones. The most severe of them could allow an attacker to remotely compromise a phone, without the phone owner needing to do anything. The attacker just needs the phone number. That said, it doesn't seem to be under active exploit yet, at least as far as public news goes.
Affected Devices: Only phones with certain Exynos chipsets are vulnerable. Adding to the confusion is the fact that in some cases, the same phone model has different chips, depending on where in the world it was sold.
The Samsung S22 is one example: the version sold in Europe has Exynos, but those sold in many other places have a Qualcomm chip.
Affected Chipsets: Exynos Modem 5123, Exynos Modem 5300, Exynos 980, Exynos 1080, and Exynos Auto T5123.
Google provided this list of likely affected devices based on the chipset list:
Samsung Galaxy phones including those in the S22, M33, M13, M12, A71, A53, A33, A21s, A13, A12, and A04 series
Vivo phones including those in the S16, S15, S6, X70, X60, and X30 series
Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and 7 Pro
Any vehicles that use the Exynos Auto T5123 chipset
Exploited?: I haven't yet found information saying the vulnerabilities are known to have been exploited, but the Project Zero researchers stated "With limited additional research and development, we believe that skilled attackers would be able to quickly create an operational exploit to compromise affected devices silently and remotely".
Mitigation: Google recommends you turn off Wi-Fi calling and Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) on the affected devices. However, they have acknowledged that depending on carrier, you may not be able to turn off VoLTE.
Furthermore, you may not be able to use your phone for voice at all if VoLTE is off, depending on carrier, etc. So realistically, your best bet is a patch. See below.
Fix: As of the latest update to this post, Google has said the Pixel 7, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a have the critical vulnerabilities patched in the March 2023 security update.
It looks like at least some of the Samsung models have some patches available, so install any security updates you have pending and keep an eye out for more.

Ea: Our Second Chance (5)
5. Ea’s biosphere, two centuries later
(< Back to 4. Earth, 2070 > On to 6a. The Mission)
Tumblr media
Akkadian mouse (Akkadia murina) fleeing from a terrestrial feral cat (Felis catus). (full image)
« So often we're asked what we, as a species, should do about our own rampant environmental crimes. The answer is: nothing! Do nothing! Let's just stop digging ourselves deeper, let's leave Nature to clean up our mess for once! Ecological communities will re-establish or develop anew, pollution will be assimilated, geochemical cycles will rebalance themselves, all wounds will be healed – if we would just stop re-opening them. » – Kohara Kauhane, Spring Will Come Again, 2056
« Quite frankly, I feel no guilt about coming here. Without a mind to consider it, a flower is just funny-shaped water, a sunset is just red light, and a planet is just a dirty rock ball. In short, without us, this planet was worthless. It is human mind and human will and human desires that give value to things. » – Liu Jinshan, CEO of Penglai, interview with the Landing Point Messenger
What are the greatest threats to Ea's biosphere, and what can you do about it?
Most of the differences between Earth's and Ea's biosphere can be traced to atmospheric carbon. The carbon dioxide (CO2) content of Ea's atmosphere is two orders of magnitude greater than Earth's, causing an extreme greenhouse effect. This is a good thing, as it prevents Ea from being a frozen snowball. This in turn is due to the ability of Ean saprophytes to metabolize almost all carbon in dead plant matter. For the same reason, Ea effectively lacks natural fossil fuels.
Earth plants have evolved for millions of years in a comparatively carbon-starved atmosphere, and have thus developed much more efficient strategies of carbon fixation, such as C4 photosynthesis. This means that, all other conditions being equal, they could grow much more than Ean producers in a given patch of ground, displacing the native flora.
Fortunately, all other conditions are not equal. The soil chemistry is far from ideal for the vast majority of Earth's organisms, first of all because of its extreme scarcity of phosphorus, which in the early years represented the single greatest hindrance for farming. However, as several generation of Earth plants and animals live and die in Ea's biosphere, their waste and decaying remains slowly enrich the ground with phosphorus. This erodes the main barrier that prevents a green flood; a green flood that could lead to the effective disappearance of red forests as a biome within a couple centuries.
→ Vertebrate bones and bird guano are very rich in phosphorus. Do not discard food waste including bones in the environment; do not bury pets or people except in a sealed non-biodegradable capsule, and do not scatter ashes outside. Rather, bring the remains to a greenhouse. Enrich the ground around your house or city with hydrogen sulfide to encourage the growth of hematophytes.
The danger lies not just in ecological replacement. This new green blooming subtracts CO2 from the atmosphere and makes survival even more difficult for the native organisms. The subtraction is semi-permanent, as Ean saprophytes cannot break down the lignin in Earth's wood. Not only does the loss of CO2 hinder the survival of native photosynthetic life, but, by weakening the greenhouse effect, it threatens to plunge Ea into an ice age reminiscent of Earth's Cryogenian period. A study of 225 AL predicts that, if no rebalancing action is taken, average global temperatures may fall by 10 K or more within the next 400 years.
→ Gather and burn as much Earth-derived plant biomass as possible to release its carbon back into the atmosphere. When burning biomass, be sure to filter the smoke to avoid releasing into the atmosphere light-reflecting particulate, which could actually lower the global temperature. Choose greenhouse-gas-producing methods of energy generation, but avoid burning methane, which is more effective than carbon dioxide at retaining heat.
International action is already being taken, but it is not yet sufficient to counter the cooling. Strategies include: scattering of light-absorbing pigments and/or psychrophilic algae on the polar ice caps; releasing greenhouse gases stronger than CO2, including methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (NO), and carbon tetrafluoride (CF4) and related halocarbons; direct melting of floating ice and methane clathrates; drilling boreholes to release subcrustal heat.
Multiple strategies must be pursued at the same time, though it should be stressed that borehole drilling poses its own dangers including toxic runoffs, seismic destabilization, and interference with weather patterns. Yet it's the strategy preferred by most political bodies for the gains in energy and minerals it promises.
→  The nearest Eco-Sanitary Office can provide you with a personal PCMD and a packet of potassium chloride to turn biowaste into perchloromethane. For your own safety, do not expose yourself to the released gas. Alternatively, you may produce methane by composting biowaste with the Korolyov method (see the back of this publication). Pressure national and international bodies to coordinate and execute anti-cooling actions.
The runoff from population and agricultural centers can have a strongly negative impact on water bodies, especially if they are geographically enclosed and experience little water circulation. Human sewage and artificial fertilizers have caused severe eutrophication in the Dagon Sea and Lake Gilgamesh, that is, the proliferation of Terran and Ean prokaryotes whose metabolic activity removes oxygen from the water. In the Dagon Sea, the tartarean biota thrives off season, and often becomes unable to flourish in summer, whereas the aerobial winter biota simply dies off. This also increases the frequency of marine carbon monoxide eruptions, especially during months where human and native communities are less adapted to them.
→ Copper fertilization is an effective way to selectively kill Terran bacteria in affected waters, but it can worsen eutrophication by native organisms. Improved filtration of runoff waters, landside compostation of sewage, and less fertilizer-intensive agricultural techniques seem to be the only sustainable solutions.
The dispersal of domesticated and former-domesticated Terran species on Ea poses another danger. As many times on Earth, this is especially true for cats. While feline instinctual hunting techniques are not always adequate for Ean preys, cats are adapting fast. Correctly recognizing that they cannot feed on akkadian mice, cats simply kill another, and then another, and so on, until they're too exhausted to hunt more. A greater threat, however, comes from a recent gene-edited strand of housecats, of unknown origin, who appear to be able to digest the right-handed aminoacids of Ean proteins. This strand has the potential to overrun virtually all temperate ecosystems of Ea and drive hundreds, if not thousands of microfaunal species to extinction.
→ Keep cats indoor as much as possible. Sterilize all your pets, and report all stray cats and dogs to the nearest Eco-Sanitary Office for capture, sterilization, and/or suppression. Feed sterilized animals so that they have less need to hunt, but do not feed stray animals that may be fertile. If you own goats or pigs, ensure they cannot leave their breeding area.

thinking about buck and chris in the tsunami and buck helping build chris an adapted skateboard and buck being the one to sit next to chris and tell him his dad might not be coming home and eddie putting buck in his will and them having ONE SCENE together in all of 6a?like i 100% get wanting to focus on other relationships, but at this point it truly doesn’t make sense for there to be almost no buckley-diaz scenes because we KNOW how important they are to each other, romantic or not.
Hey, Anon!
I totally get what you're saying and I do agree but I also think they're still trying to show us in ways that Buck and Eddie are still very important to one another while we go through the first half of the season. They've had more than one scene together but they usually have someone else around. I think that's what you're referring to, right? The missing heart-to-hearts that they usually have? I completely get that this is throwing a lot of people off because it's not their usual pattern. Even when KR took over last season, we still got heart-to-hearts with both of them every so often. But here's the thing, I think we're going to get some of those back in 6B because if Buck does have a breakdown or he reaches a breaking point, there's no way Eddie wouldn't be part of that landscape. Because Eddie was so heavily involved in the story line two seasons ago:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Annnnd since we know the Buckley parents are returning and they're most likely it has to do with this story line for Buck this season, it stands to reason that at some point Eddie will be returning this for Buck:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
And I am absolutely certain because this season so far we've seen:
Tumblr media
Eddie reassuring Buck like he always has when Buck was worried about Karen (and this is definitely Eddie doing that by looking at Buck as he begins to speak when Buck wasn't even looking to him, he was saying it for everyone but more specifically Buck's benefit which is why we then get the looksie loo between them after he says it). Something he did in 3x16 about possibly losing contact with the firefam. Something he tried to do in 4x04 and 4x05.
And then we also get:
Tumblr media
While it was kind of Buck and Eddie to do this for that person, isn't it weird that out of the 118, they're the only two? When you know if they had asked, Chim, Bobby, and Hen would have helped? And isn't it weird that the random people they bring with them are two men and two women, and the framing shows each man and each woman walking in together from both sides, behind Eddie, Buck, and the homeowner? They're showing this because that 5x18 scene was a big deal for these two, just like the will scene in 4x14 like you mentioned. But they also show Buck and Eddie in two different cars arriving (when they could have carpooled, especially given gas prices at that point lol) because they're on their own separate journeys, but they're going to arrive in the same place: together and back to their close relationship but this time knowing what they want and being all the stronger for it, stronger to the point that they can even help others like this homeowner. But overall one important thing: a solid, united team. And for any work partnership or friendship, this is one hell of a scenic route to go on to patch either of those up, when it won't lead somewhere past that.
So I get what you're saying and it is a bit of an odd route to take but I have faith that it will all pay off in the end. To me, as an amateur writer, it makes sense. If Buck breaks down, I don't see how anyone could justify Eddie not being there for him during that. Especially when they keep bringing to our attention that Eddie knows something is up with Buck (before learning about the donation), Eddie still knows things about Buck that no one else does (and vice versa as we saw play out in 6x09), and these two are still very much a unit, even if it's not happening physically on screen at the moment. And while I may not always agree with KR's talking points in certain interviews, I do think she's going in the direction she was told to do, just in her own way. And while it might not be the way we like, one thing they haven't gotten rid of is the story telling they're doing through other devices that films and television shows always use. Right now, KR doesn't need the GA to see Buddie, not overtly. Once it gets closer and Buck goes through what he has to, things will become less subtle. (and I have tbh, I don't even think it's really all that subtle anymore) But I still see the same story they've been telling the past few years, since season 3, and I don't see any indication that Buddie won't happen.
Like one of my other anons said, Buck spending time with other 118 members & Eddie doing the same...this is all a precursor to them eventually getting together. Once they do get together, they'll still have scenes with the firefam separately, just like we see with Hen and Karen, Chim and Maddie, Bobby and Athena, etc.
And I get what you mean about no Buckley-Diaz scenes butttt we did get that one scene in the season premiere and that is SO important because the first episode of a season always sets up what the main focal points are going to be for that season's story line of the show. And while we don't get anymore physical scenes with them, we do see Eddie and Buck discussing Chris' crush, Eddie asking Buck if Chris has told him any secrets, etc. It's still very present in the story line. And on top of that, since this season is about Buck finding out what he wants (and the donation comes into play), it makes sense that the Buckley-Diaz isn't the focus right now (scenes with the firefam or not) because Buck's relationship with both Eddie and Chris are solid. It's not coming into question right now; it's a given. Since Buck is going on this journey (and Eddie is doing his own as well), it makes sense that we don't see as much Chris/Buck or family scenes. We might get some more in 6B but I'll be honest with you, I wouldn't even be surprised if we only got one, if any at all.
Any other time we've gotten Buckley-Diaz scenes, it is always in relation to one of the three's emotional landscapes in the story. The show just worked hard to separate Eddie and Christopher so Eddie can find out what he wants for himself. They're now working to help Buck figure out what he wants. Christopher is doing well and the theme of his and Eddie's relationship this season is him getting older and not needing Eddie as much. It all makes sense then that we're not seeing the B-D unit as much this season.
But I feel you, Anon, I do. I get that this is frustrating for some. I partially blame that on the streaming culture we currently have because not only have we been waiting for this to happen for a long time, it's the waiting for weekly episodes, the winter break, the interviews in between, that kills us, too. I myself just recently gave up on a show that I regret starting because I care about the characters so much but the writing is questionable at best (which puts it very nicely) and they're more concerned with fanservice than they are good storytelling it feels like. I tried to have patience, to hang in there, trying to see what we were being told through every single device used, but I got so frustrated I said 'fuck it, I'll wait and binge when it's all said and done. I'm wasting too much time waiting and being frustrated about this so fuck it.' And it takes a lot for me to do that but getting back to the point, I get it if some people want to wait until it does happen, or that they can stream the full season once it's over. And I get the frustration, but I promise, I really do believe Buddie is on its way. It's just taking the long (scenic) route. Which is completely characteristic of slow burns but you also have networks and shows that love to milk the crap out of something like this, too. Whatever keeps people coming back to watch every week. But I get it all. I hope in this ramble somewhere I'm making sense lol.
So my very long point is to hang in there, Anon. It's coming, and I think once 6B airs in its entirety, it will all make sense. I think even rewatching all of 6A will even help pull the puzzle pieces together and all of the connections will be seen that much more. I plan to do that myself once I get some time.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day, Anon!!! <3
