genuinely curious if the social media platform changes over time have affected how people tend to communicate... my starting ones were very conversational, the facebook/myspace kind where you had your own profile to make unique but a lot of the draw was being able to share your thoughts, talk to other people, and chat clients where the only thing you could do was talk to people. it doesn't quite seem the same nowadays where comment sections are more... engagement driven? Like comments that get a reaction are boosted to the top, and posts with more comments are boosted as well so there's kind of an incentive to get people bickering in them. Dunno. I love talking to people though so the habit stays
