Moon 42-Leaf-fall

Shadestar (137) feels like things are looking up as she approaches a year since Nightingaletree’s death.  She has realized that she can’t hold onto her mate forever and has decided to move on.  Chervilcry (21) continues to work on helping relations with other Clans and traveled to FurledClan to resolve some hunting issues.  Egretshell (138) really enjoys working with his daughter and feels confident that she will be able to mediate the Clan well when he decides to retire.  He has also been connecting with Yuccawillow (21) and shares some prey with her.  Stormrush (54) is feeling cranky from being pregnant and stuck in camp, and has been complaining that she feels like Brightfalcon (85) could be doing more to help her.  Nessie (38) has also recovered and is eager to prove his strength to the Clan.  However, Shardfrost (21) stole his catch right out from under his claws, frustrating him.  While on patrol with Stonefreckle (25), Peakpaw (10) finds a powerless kit and brings her back to camp.  The kit, named Howlkit (1), actually looks a bit like Stonefreckle.  Maybe she’s a relative?  It doesn’t take long for the Clan to notice that she is paralyzed from the waist down. ElementClan doesn't care. They’ll take her in and care for her no matter what.

Meta: And I don't have a sprite for Howlkit. She's the last cat that I don't have one for though. From here on out, all cats that are born or join the Clan will have sprites!

Curlewpaw got his full medicine cat name! Curlewpatch is confident, has omen sense and is somewhat clairvoyant. He was honored for their drive.

Curlewpatch is closest with his parents, and also his brother. He dislikes Dahliawatcher and Warmfall but still respects them.

Twilightpaw became a warrior! Twilighttrhift is adventurous and a great mediator. He was honoured for his gallantry.

He is closest with his siblings and with Fallingghost. He slightly dislikes Warmfall and Cavefreckle and he dislikes Scratchnoise, but also respects her a little.

Cloudkit became an apprentice! Cloudpaw is playful and interested in clan history. Her mentor is Sproutjump.

She is closest to her parents and she dislikes Dahliawatcher as well as Warmfall and Mousepaw, but a little bit.

Pearkit and Kestrelkit became apprentices! Pearpaw is charismatic and a picky nestbuilder, his mentor is Weaselfur. Kestrelpaw is wise and a picky nest builder, his mentor is Lynxfern

Stonethroat then lost the rest of their tail to a fox while following Beetlestar’s orders.

Sootstorm was injured after being ordered by Beetlestar to check out a Twoleg object.

Bluffear was wounded by Beetlestar during a harsh training exercise.

Algaewhisker was injured by Beetlestar to make an example of them.

Crowfoot (a medicine cat and Beetlestar’s child!) lost a paw when Beetlestar made him fight a rogue by himself.

Snippets: Head in the Clouds

A tour of the new territory proves frustrating for both parties involved.

     The sound of the flowing stream snagged Peakpaw’s attention like the rustle of prey-filled underbrush. Where did it start? A hollow in the mountain where no cat had ever seen? Where did it end? Would it narrow out into a small trickle, barely thicker than a whisker? Or perhaps it would expand into a wide lake that stretched further than any creature could see, land and sky alike? He asked as much to his mentor, Bugstar, who merely huffed. “For you, the stream ends where it meets the TawnyClan border. Any further and you’ll cause a scuffle.” He flattened his ears at that. Ever pragmatic, Bugstar never seemed to consider what happened beyond Clan borders. He was the type of cat who could spend his whole life in one spot and be content as long as he was fed and sheltered. Was there no wonder in the world for the warrior? No pondering what caused the roots to grow down and the trees to climb up, the mysteries of life answered with a shrug and closing of your eyes to possibilities forever. Was that how it was for every cat as they aged?

     No, he thought with a sniff, Bugstar’s just a prude. 

     With a flick of his plumy tail, Bugstar led him further away from the water to show him fields of gray and brown stones where the only things of interest were the scattered clumps of grass, growing in the small patches of earth. His mentor began a lecture on these stones, how they drew prey as well as snakes to come and bask and what to watch out for. If Peakpaw was honest (and he was), Bugstar had a special way of making everything sound boring. Even a talk on venomous snakes was about as riveting as how the prey was running or the weather. Bugstar’s deputy, Brindlecloud, had a much finer way with words. If they were here, Peakpaw imagined he’d be caught up in the swell of their voice as if he too were locked in the unexpected jaws of a snake. The way they spoke with raw emotion as the story swayed their heart and tongue to move quicker as the action ramped and slower as the end felt as if it could not come quick enough, not for want of something different to listen to but because you simply had to know how it finished. Brindlecloud made words feel like more than spoken thought; words could be powerful when harnessed; they could form as many questions and as they did answers in the same breath.

      Bugstar was much worse in comparison.

      A cuff on the back of his head dragged him out of his thoughts, and he scowled at the larger tom. Bugstar’s ears were drawn back with frustration. “If you ever hope to be made a warrior, you’d do well to listen to your mentor.”

      He rolled his eyes. “You’re hardly my mentor. Whiteflower is the one who trained me for moons. You’re just finishing up the job.”

      “And yet, you’re still acting like a new apprentice,” Bugstar reminded harshly. He drew himself back to look taller. “We’re done here. Return to camp and clean out the elders’ den.”

      His tail flicked irritably, but he dipped his head, stalking off in the vague direction of camp. However, that didn’t mean Peakpaw left quietly. “Hope you get bit by a poisonous snake!” He hissed. 

      “Venomous,” Bugstar corrected.

      “Same difference!”

Currentpaw smiles up at the stars as they sit beside Blotchjay. The stars seem to shine brighter, and Currentpaw knows it's a sign that Briar is still watching over them

Raccoonpaw hopes that Briar is watching in pride from StarClan as they are apprenticed to Patchswan

Poppypaw touches noses with their mentor, Snipgorse, looking bored and unimpressed. But on the inside, they're bouncing around with euphoria as if they were still a kit!

Peakpaw went missing and was found dead out in the territory.

So much grief and death has taken its toll on the cats of PikaClan, Runningleaf is particularly shaken by it

Dahliawatcher's leg healed p but she'll always limp

Elmpaw became a warrior, his warrior name is Elmspots and he wa honoured for his dedication. Elmspots is strict and incredibly clever.

Elmspots is closest with his brother and his parents, he doesn't like Warmfall and Scratchnoise.

Eaglepaw became a warrior. Her warrior name is Eaglefall and She was honoured for her stealth. Eaglefall's anger melted away and now she's left with insecureness, she is a trusted advisor and a fast runner.

She is closer with her siblings and she doesn't like Frondwatcher, Sproutjump, and Curlewpaw. She dislikes Warmfall but feels comfortable around her.

Sunpaw became a warrior. Her warrior name is Sunwhisker and she was honored for her dignity. Sunwhisker is strickt, a good climber and a great storyteller.
