Cut In Half

Cut in half, you stopped eating for a while. Simply forgot. The air was dead with whole families of fruit flies inhaled at once. Your own skin made a lonely noise.

At the back of the bus later staring at your hands. What were these for now? Well, that’s it then, you think. That’s the end of being a person. And the day drives on into weeks anyway.

One morning you eat half a pear standing over the sink. The seeds on the slice make a sad dead face that stares back at you. The not crying at the sunny window. That's not not something. Some words on paper about it.

Just how did you stay on anyway? You cannot imagine. But look here's you pulling down handfuls of life from the trees again. The rotting flesh under your shoes is smelling sweet as you reach up.

since @lintubintu suggested a banana häärijä as a friend for the corn boi, I couldn't resist drawing one as well >:) which then made me want to draw him as a little sourpuss lemon too. 🍋 all this time I've been racking my brain as to how i could give corn pea käärijä a small häärijä foodstuff friend, but it never occured to me before that häärijä didn't HAVE to be tiny like his buddy!! he could be the bik one for change!!
