I know "60s housewives who invented slash fanfiction" has taken on a life of its own as a phrase, but Kirk/Spock didn't really exist until the 70s and THOSE WOMEN HAD JOBS. They were teachers and librarians and bookkeepers and scientists and they damn well spent their own money going to conventions, printing zines, buying fanart and making fandom happen. Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.

i know it's been said a million times but i still find it so fucking funny that shax told aziraphale that he isn't crowley's type. girl crowley's type is "aziraphale." not even nerds or bookshop owners or angels, it is ONLY aziraphale.

and that makes aziraphale's reaction so much funnier because he KNOWS she's bluffing. it's SO obvious. like he's oblivious, but he's not THAT oblivious. he's literally like the only person crowley has ever willingly hung out with. like nice try but that's the worst bluff ever, i thought you were supposed to be good at this.

but then we have to out bonkers ourselves with

I had a long day yesterday, culminating in meeting Michael Sheen and (thankfully) not making a complete tit of myself. So, in honour of that, here's a set of memes dedicated to Aziraphale. I’m so tired of every show that takes place in the past (wild west, medieval, pirates etc) ALWAYS having so much sexual violence towards women like writers can cry “oh it’s realism” all you want but it’s very transparent how realism only applies when you want to hurt women on screen. If we’re talking staying realistic, why doesn’t everyone have brown teeth? Or bad skin? Or dying of dysentery? Just admit y'all want an excuse to brutalize women on screen lol

Ok so Aziraphale’s pause and deep audible inhalation here gets me verklempt for two reasons.

This scene in s2e5 “The Ball,” where Aziraphale and Crowley walk into the magic shop to ask Mr. Mutt to attend, is the very first scene David and Michael shot together for season 2, according to Amazon x-ray’s trivia. They are back together and it’s like a savoring of the moment.

Also, it’s likely the first time Aziraphale and Crowley have been back together to the very same magic shop when they had their romantic 1941 visit. It looks so much the same and I can only imagine what feelings that brings up for them.

Water often tastes undrinkable to me 😓 I grew up with well water and literally never drank water because it tasted so bad to me. I started with bottled water from Canada that I got from the dollar store. I can now drink most iced waters from restaurants. A couple years ago I got a filter that takes out heavy metals, pfas, and lots of other stuff so I can finally drink it at the room temperature. But it still tastes

Not over the way that everything would be better if you were just near one particular person is literally the story of what happens over and over again in S1. I know this is the implicit message of all those gifsets (god bless) but I'm a words person, I have to talk it out to really put it together.

And--that's the theme of the 1x03 cold open, right? One or the other of them is in a bad place, mentally or physically, and then the other one shows up and even if everything's not all right, it's better. Aziraphale's face lighting up in the Bastille. Crowley being surprised by how amused he is at "Let me tempt you--" in Rome. Time after time, they're confused or upset or in trouble and then, they meet, and everything's a bit better.

It's not just in the cold open, either; we see it when Crowley's in the bar after the bookshop burns, feeling hopeless until Aziraphale shows up. Everything's better.

We see it in literally their first interaction, when Aziraphale's fretting over whether he did the wrong thing, and then he meets Crowley, and he laughs (however briefly). Everything's better.

So it's been happening since the very beginning, and by now it really is if you were just near. As soon as you're here, everything's better.

Aziraphale and Crowley both think they are miles beyond Archangel “Thank you for my pornography” Gabriel and Muriel “I come from another human settlement” the Scrivener, but Crowley does those ^^ things and Aziraphale cosplays a newspaperman and seems to not recognize a brothel after living in Soho for 200+ years

Crowley saying "LEAVE IT TO ME" in his super suave watch-me-do-something-impressive voice to Aziraphale, only to saunter up to the security guard and confidently address him as "army human."
