I always thought it’d be interesting to see what would’ve happened if Powder had been left behind or caught at the scene when she triggered Jayce’s lab experiments, when I watched the show like a yr ago that was one of the thoughts that always lingered and I like to think she would’ve been more cut out for Piltover society than the undercity bc she was neglected so much there and I think she’d be more charming to Piltie citizens with her docile nature and intelligence.

No hate to the other characters or Vander but the girl clearly had problems and they all wanted to pretend like they didn’t see it so they could feel better about taking her in and looking after her. She was also weaker and more unexperienced than the rest but they all somehow expected her to pull her own weight in high stress situations.[This unintentionally overlapped with the trailer drop bc I was completely unaware they even released them when I was making this like two weeks ago.]

That’s a whole can of worms that I’d rather not open rn bc then it becomes a whole discussion on her trauma along with poverty and a bunch of other things having to do with the people that were around her. She is given the name Jinny bc they got tired of having to refer to her without a specific name, and becuase she begged Jayce to give her one and he blurted out the first thing he saw lmao.

Anyways. In this the kids and Vi basically leave her at the scene out of fear of getting caught and because they aren’t confident that she could have even survived the blast. They all think she’s dead and Powder experiences memory loss, so law enforcement dumps her on Jayce as a punishment and reminder of how dangerous his lab was and how lucky he is that she’s alive, but along the way Viktor sees her potential in becoming a scientific inventor of some sorts based on the items she had with her when she tried escaping along with the intelligence she displays and he adopts her and takes the load off of Jayce after his probation period form the academy. Her and Jayce have a sibling bond.

I need to draw more of this but her young self experiencing this and growing up in their thriving society and blending into their society. I added makeup on her to show how well she’s managed to integrate into Piltover society and because she indulges in the riches there so much that people even forgot she was originally form the undercity, she pretty much looks and acts like she was born there. The pinkish color she puts around her eyes is her remembering Vi and the purple comes into play later when Viktor’s sickness gets worse.

I originally only drew her as an enforcer bc I got inspired by an edited pin on Pinterest but also wanted her to be an academy student so it’s a bit of an awkward mix but I figured she probably picked up becoming an enforcer as a pastime and way to make money(idk if they make money lmao) bc she can’t rely on Viktor and Jayce to provide for her forever, and because Grayson sort of inspired her a bit (though she is subconsciously reminded of Vi when she’s around Grayson). She also has a funny dynamic with Marcus, with him already being a double crossing loser he tries to be this cool older guy around her and miserably fails every time but only because she’s still young and carefree and because he basically kept it under wraps that she was alive the whole time after finding out that she was Vander’s adoptive daughter. So I guess you could say he just has a fatherly instinct towards her but who knows.

okay. So I've finished book 1 of keeper of the lost cities for the first time. And I'm loving this keefe dude already?? Like I never thought I'd like a fictional character so quickly. All it took was like one page for me to fall for him, I am aware that keefe is one of the most loved characters in the fandom, and I can see why (correct me if I'm wrong).

Also the book is a solid 9.5/10, the only thing I was frustrated about was probably the slight info dumping about the whole blackswan thing towards the end? because it took me like 3 reads to understand the whole situation, of course, we could just narrow it down to me being slow too, lol. But I'm VERY excited to continue reading the rest. So while we're at it, I'll put in my first impressions of the characters, so I can look back on it after I've read all the books, to see how much my perception has changed of them.

Sophie- i like her, she's really mature for her age, I keep forgetting that she's like 12 lmao. But she's well written, her emotions seem very raw and natural. Of course, she may seem overpowered but, I think that's the whole point of the story, she is supposed to be overpowered, so I don't mind and i wouldn't call her a Mary sue. Overall great protagonist, my girlie deserves a break tho, she got dumped in the hospital atleast 6 times lol.

Fitz- i actually think he's cool. I liked him better in the beginning of the story tho, I feel like afterwards, the dude kinda just disappeared a little? Keefe and Sophie seemed to have more private interaction than those two, and keefe literally only came by in the middle. But yeah, I feel like he had more of a personality in the start. Keefe and Dex, in my opinion had more personality in 5 minutes than fitz did the whole book, but I wouldn't judge so quickly, it's only the first book after all, Hopefully he'd have more page time in the later books. I still like him tho, just not as much as keefe.

Dex- Yeah he is such a typical best friend, I love him. His beef w the vackers is so funny lol I was relieved when Sophie stuck with him even after she became popular tho, also, he seems to have a crush on sophie right? It's kinda obvious, but overall friendship goals 10/10. I vocally "AWW-ed" after he said "are you kidding, i can't wait to tell everyone that you're my first friend" like I need a guy bestie like him :(

Alden- honestly, my heart warmed so much with his father-like dynamic with sophie tbh. He seemed to genuinely care about her well being, but I don't want to get too attached to him tho, just in case becomes a traitor or some shit later on, you can literally never tell with the adults lol. I've read enough books to back that up. But yeah, i really like him and della, the amount of reassuring hugs he gives sophie really heals me :(, They're like sophies 2nd (well, in her case, 3rd) parents. The amount of effort and lengths Alden put to get her out of trouble is actually sweet.

Elwin- This guy is such a W. He is like an adult keefe tbh. He is probably my favorite adult so far lol.

But yeah, they're both big W's, their backstory, their temporary contemplation to reject sophies adoption, everything aligned well with their backstory. Greatly written characters.

And last but not least, the king himself, Keefe- okay, he's like added to my list of fictional crushes now lol (along with Percy Jackson, Jason grace, Steve Harrington, chat noir, Eugene fitzherbert, edmund pevensie and Ravi singh ofc). How does sophie not have a fat crush on him, like- ma'am if you don't want him, I'll take him. But jokes aside, he feels like the most authentic character out of them all, tbh. Epitome of great writing. He was inserted to the story as this random dude that sophie runs into, and becomes an og in like 5 minutes. He is like a mix of Eugene from tangled, Kristoff from Frozen and chat noir from mlb all at the same time?? I cannot wait to see more of him and his backstory, especially with his parents. I know alot of people dislike the humorous guy with depression trope since it's overused, but I like how it played out on keefe, he uses school as an escape, which is very relatable.

The Super Special Secret Krow Lore Post

Aight. So according to the last poll y'all wanted to get the secrets of Krow in nitty gritty detail. There may be still those who don't wanna know (yet) so I'll put it under a read more. Also because it'll likely get long lmao.

His name

So I mentioned that his legal name is Isaiah. His full legal name is Isaiah Kolan Johnson. Isaiah is a biblical name meaning "god is salvation" and his middle name Kolan as well as sounding pretty fucking unfortunate also means "dove keeper". Johnson I just tried to think of the whitest sounding surname I could lmao. Krow was adopted/fostered by a conservative fundamentalist Christian family that valued reputation more than the well being of their kids. The parents have three bio kids and, not counting Krow, eight adopted and/or foster kids. Essentially they adopted/fostered kids to show to their community and church that they're "such good Christians taking in impoverished and/or PoC kids cause they're SUCH good people" but really the only kids that got ANY positive attention or care were the bio sons (the bio daughter was just expected to look after ALL her siblings). All the other kids were pretty neglected both physically, mentally and emotionally. The parents are John and Esther The names of his fellow foster/adopted siblings are: Jacob, David, Matthew, Noah, Peter, Sarah, Abigail and Leah The bio kids names are Adam, Joseph and... Mary. (: Krow ran away from home before he was set to graduate high school.

Krow's Secret, and his birth family

Before I can really get into what "Krow's secret" is, I need to mention is bio/birth family. As I've mentioned, Krow is Indian and Bengali. His parents are immigrants to America, and Krow was born in America. So his nationality is American, but race/ethnicity is Indian/Bengali. Krow's birth name is Sarveshvara Banerjee. Sarveshvara is a name derived from the god Shiva, and specifically means "determination, energy and confidence". His last name, Banerjee, are from a family of which their caste are descended from priests (so Krow actually comes from a pretty darn important caste back in India and Bengal). His father is named Riyan and his mother is named Khushi. They were essentially a victim to racism and classism in America. Krow was taken from them at a very young age and placed into foster care and that is how he was scooped up by the Johnson's.

Now, what is this big secret? As some of you may have guessed, Krow... isn't entirely human. He is descended from Naga (specifically on his father's side), and specifically... his Naga clan were cursed by the goddess Manasa. A long, long time ago, Krow's Naga ancestors were giving terror to the mortal human populace. Doing what they pleased in torturing and abusing humans within their territory. This angered Manasa. Naga were not supposed to be giving humans such grief.

In retribution, Manasa cursed this Naga clan. Cursed them with each suffering their own personal hell and anguish, just as they had caused the humans. For millennia, these Naga and their descendants have each suffered from a curse of their own personal torment, the only salve being that each generation got a more diluted form of the curse... that is until Krow came along.

For whatever reason, genetics just... played out differently and he got a bit more of the Naga bloodline and their traits, and also got a bit more of the curse. What is Krow's own "personal torment"? Well... family is the most important aspect to him. Essentially, he is doomed to never... really a happy family, or a happy life with family.

There hasn't been a way to break the curse, but there have been ways of mitigating it and managing it. If Krow was not taken from his bio parents, he would have grown up learning of his heritage and how to manage. But because he wasn't...

The curse essentially manifests primarily as extreme jealousy, clinging onto those he loves, or pushing away others (sometimes violently). This also explains some of his other traits (getting cold easily, a bit more strength, his teeth). Speaking of his teeth, Krow IS venomous. It's... a bit more diluted than it would be if he were a full Naga, but it's there all the same. His venom has a bit of an aphrodisiac effect on those affected by it. The more one is bitten, the more this takes effect. In essence, if Dove is one who likes being bitten by Krow, they will grow more and more comfortable in his presence unwittingly, writing off red flags and excusing some of his more problematic behaviors. ...Unfortunately though, it is still a venom. Get too much in your system, and it WILL kill you.

All of this to say, once Krow finds out all of this, that he's descended from a cursed Naga blood line and all these physical quirks, it would freak him out so badly that he would, yes, leave Dove in a desperate hope to protect them.

But yeah, that's the big secret I've been keeping hidden for the past couple years. I do have a hope to draw a "what if Krow was a full Naga" drawing at... some point.

I have been in discussion with some friends who are Indian and Bengali about all this. I tried to be as respectful about the culture as I could.

anyway that said. what I meant is that it is sooo obvious to most adoptees from a young age that it's a consumer industry and we are a product for sale. most of us who always knew we were adopted have that horrifying realization very very young, far too young to know how to deal with it. yes I am glad when other people figure this out too but it's a bit irritating for non adoptees to act like this is some mystical wisdom they alone could've uncovered when it's part of the trauma inherent to adoption to realize you were purchased 🤷

I'm not against adoption like some adoptees are, but I could write ESSAYS on my criticisms of the industry and how it SHOULD work. in fact, I have written essay length posts about it in the tags listed above. but ultimately nobody gives a fuck & NOBODY of any political orientation wants to hear that adoption perhaps isn't the utterly selfless flawless silver bullet solution to unwanted kids that everyone treats it as. yet statistically we KNOW most adoptees are extremely damaged by it, the research is there but nobody talks about it. nobody likes you if you talk about it. the walls go up real quick.

one of my favorite things is how adoption seems to be the ONE area that absolutely nobody respects lived material experience about. even loads of leftists/radfems who are always going on and on about the importance of listening to people's real, lived experiences will aggressively talk over us adoptees if we dare have the audacity to critique adoption/the adoption industry or acknowledge that it's fuckin traumatic even for an infant being yanked away from the only stimuli you knew for 9 months and put somewhere where you can't recognize yourself in anyone or anything for the next 18+ years. and that's best case scenario! scenario where they don't abuse you or spend your childhood guilt tripping you because they oh so selflessly took you in when nobody wanted you and now look how difficult you are, crying all the time n shit... just as 1 common experience I know many share from my own life and talking to other adoptees.

but nearly every time we try to talk about this, even if it has nothing to do with criticizing the adoption industry and we are JUST tryna get painful shit off our chest, some non adoptee or 8 is/are gonna jump down our throat (and often even say all the same shit our parents guilted us with as kids lmao)

it's also 1000% a feminist issue bc SO many mothers are forced into adopting out a kid they wanna keep, or adoption being available is used to justify forcing women to give birth instead of aborting an unwanted pregnancy when those women would otherwise choose the latter. not to mention the designer baby shit & the preference for white male babies... and the fact that it's human beings being literally sold as a good. Just because it's legal and isn't outright sex slavery or "forced labor" (tho adopted kids are so often viciously abused and often in those exact ways) doesn't make it right to buy or sell a human being, doesn't make it not human trafficking. & I say this as an adoptee who was ALSO trafficked as a teenager.

It didn't stop her tho, she continued to play with it, even headless. Until Wakasa fixed it for her with some flextape, but then it lost its charm so she took the head off again.

She's a BIG cuddle bug! She would cling on to her grandma for affection, or to Haruchiyo when they were little, even to Takeomi, although he would most often just turn her down. Haru was always fine with it, since they shared the cradle as babies, until he grew too big for it, so even as toddlers and older, they were kinda used to snuggling with each other. That changed as they were growing up and gaining separate senses of self, as well as he started accumulating resentment towards her because of Takeomi's favoritism.

When Waka & Benkei became her unofficial guardians, she was sooo happy that Waka didn't mind her snuggling up against him during their "family" movie nights, or that Benkei seemed to enjoy giving her piggyback and shoulder rides as much as she did!

Wakasa is her mother figure. Don't @ me, I will gladly die on that hill!

She collects cool rocks, and gets a bit too excited about them, and wants to show them to everybody! She will talk the ear off of anyone willing to listen.

She is very easily excitable, and can talk a bit too loud sometimes. (Another reason why Haru dislikes loud people.)

‌She's incredibly loyal, and mega protective of her friends and loved ones (that much is canon). But she also believes it's her duty to protect all girls and women, and if sees any girl in any kind of distress, she will step in to help. She's like a public service friend! However, she has trouble making actual friends, cause she's shy and socially awkward, believing that people will hate her, even though she doesn't give off that impression.

She hates conflict with a passion, and wants everyone to get along with each other (my poor traumatized baby 💔)! Her views can be a bit too naïve sometimes, but that's just because she has a heart of gold!

Her favorite pastime as a kid was climbing up the trees, to spite Takeomi and tease Haru because he couldn't do it/was too afraid.

She has the absolute best, most flawless, impeccable, mind-blowing fashion sense EVER, that puts to shame Koko, Inupi, Mitsuya, Ran, and Izana combined! But she doesn't bring out her best game until adulthood, when she realizes that fashion is not just a "typically feminine" hobby, that gender stereotypes are trash anyway, and flips off Takeomi for his warped, outdated ideas!

thank you once again, fex! I feel like I've mentioned the Lucretia adopts Angus fic to you before, it's the one where she raises him on the Bureau and he even gets to have an ambiguously evil Red Robe uncle (who is allowed to give him piano lessons, because Lucretia is a total softie).

more relevant to the only writing I've completed, though, is the way THB meet Angus on the Bureau, and Angus actually sneaks off to get on the Rockport Limited with them once he hears there's a murder mystery in play. Lucretia obviously panics about this, because she does not want her son getting anywhere near a Relic — and this Angus & Taako scene is dealing with the fallout. the writing's old and there's stuff I'd change but the skeleton of it holds up, IMO. bit of outsider-looking-in on Ango and Lucretia's relationship:

Taako raps on the door to Angus’s room, trying not to sound neither too threatening nor too invested. “Hey, it’s, uh — it’s cha boy. Taako. Can I… come in?” “Whatever,” Angus sniffs, which is…  Well, Taako hasn’t known Angus for long, but that doesn’t sound at all like the polite, oddly mature little pipsqueak Taako’s gotten so used to seeing around the Bureau. He really is upset. Shit.  Taako wishes he could just send in the big armored teddy bear instead, ‘cause Magnus might comfort the kid with some actual success — but of course, Taako had to be the only one loitering to hear two distinct voices being raised in the Director’s office. To see Angus bolting out of a debriefing with his actual mom, covering his face with his hat and making a mad dash for his bedroom across the quad. Angus clearly loves his mom, and the Director clearly loves her kid. Taako never got any bad vibes from either — just vibes of a weird kid, in the care a parent with a weird enough job, that things cancelled out and everyone’s weird, weird needs got met. In a way he’d never admit, it actually made Taako kind of jealous. But Angus is upset, probably shedding tears, over the debriefing-turned-argument that Taako didn’t mean to overhear — So he opens the door, and steps into Angus’s room.

Angus has trauma and it's causing him to catastrophize about the argument, worrying his Mom will send him off the Bureau to keep him safe and he'll lose the only family he has. so Taako kind of clumsily, uncomfortably, tries to reassure Angus — that because "the Director" cared enough to adopt him, she would never throw him out for nothing.

but then... Angus spills the beans. the Director has "a brother" who definitely isn't bio-related to her, but the adopted nature of their family doesn't keep them from having an extremely terse relationship that they only even keep that civil for Angus's sake. so Angus is very scared that if two people he thinks are good people could have chosen to be family once, but then turn out Like That, then who's to say the same won't happen to him?

obviously, Taako isn't even getting the "evil Red Robe" piece of information in the story — but even so, he just has no idea of how to respond to that.

Sorry this took so long, coming up on finals and it's been hectic lmao

They are 22 (Rotxo) and 23 (Spider) when they find their first daughter

Kids were a desire they hadn't sorted out yet - biology and the war were too in the way for them to even truly consider options (Rotxo thought about it a lot though, it was one of the ways he got through what was going on, imagining a little blonde na'vi or the kids they could adopt, uncaring of logistics or realism)

They find Anea when she is 6 months old

Bridgehead falls and the war is reaching it's conclusion with this being one of the last major battles. However, the people left behind are hardly peaceful and the repopulation efforts had begun

Most of the people are pregnant or came with older children in the case of repopulating citizens, however, a few had already had their children. As many that can be sent to earth are but, again, there's the question of what to do with the children left behind

Some will, again, stay with the children too young to travel but there's very little humans allowed to stay on Pandora - as such, there's few caretakers

Unfortunately, many of the children don't survive the war. Between attacks, illness, and accidents of a planet not made for them, the surviving group is limited to a small handful

Spider spends as much time as he can helping to foster and situate the children remaining - the copy of his own childhood sends him into a bit of a spiral

The difference this time is that his presence has the Omatikaya and Metkayina more prone to opening their arms to them

Part of him doesn't think he could let any of them go, but slowly they're taken into the families of those around him. Kiri takes one with her mate, some of their friends take others, but Anea somehow stays

He can't keep himself away from her but it scares him. Rotxo is there helping but he keeps them apart - scared of what facing the feelings would mean

He should have known better than to try

Rotxo scoops her up before he has a chance to one day, noting his mates attachment and wanting to confront what was happening

The little girl is tiny. She's 6 months old but barely reaches past his wrist and he feels his heart stop.

She's not scared of him, despite the fact that few Na'vi have interacted with her up to this point. Rather, she whines and nestles down into the warmth of his body. She's asleep before he can even reach Spider

He doesn't ask so much as tell Spider that it's time to bring her home

Rotxo is a very broad man, strong and muscled at this point in his life, but now he's reduced to a gushy mess over a little creature too young to care if she has him wrapped around her tiny finger

Norm is on cloud nine when they finally ask to adopt her

He knew they were going to take her the whole time - he practically raised the dumb fucks and he's tired of the skirting around, get his granddaughter a name and get on with it!

Kiri ultimately names her. They tell her the news and she melts, whispering Anea when she leans down to kiss the infants head

Naming her took some effort given their situation. Figuring out the family name, who would go where, etc was a little bit of a hassle since they wanted to respect Rotxo's family but make sure Spider was included

Ultimately, they use Socorro so she is connected to her humanity but Rotxo is the parents name they claim. She's human, but they give her a na'vi name so she never feels separated like her father did

And so, Anea te Socorro Rotxo'ite is born

Rotxo is 300% whipped for this little girl

He's terrified of hurting her but he's so beyond taken with her that he doesn't know how to function

Spider has to be the responsible parent who reminds him that she needs to be put down and that Rotxo can't stay in the shed 24/7 with them and he needs to go outside

While you might assume the tattooed warrior that will forever tower over this part of his family is the protective one, it's Spider

Spider didn't realize how lucky he was to survive his childhood until the others didn't

He takes protecting Anea to a whole new level and does everything in his power and beyond to protect her

Kiri thinks it's hilarious but is admittedly pretty bad as well with her own son, a slightly younger boy she adopted when they took in Anea

Anea and her cousin are raised in the shed behind Rocorro's marui until they're around 5 and able to wear a mask

When she's able to go outside, she takes after Spider a lot

She's a climber and an explorer, wanting to see and be in everything since she couldn't be before

Rotxo is the worst enabler and teams up with Lo'ak to get her into things she probably should not have access too

Surprisingly though, Tsireya is the one she chases after the most

Anea is a complete water baby and spends as much time as she can floating and playing in the water

Tsireya very proudly believes she is blessed by Ewya to show how she belongs with them, a diver through and through

Personality wise, she's very curious and can be headstrong but is kind of shy with new people since she grew up so sheltered

She's very comfortable with her clan but new people will have her in one of her dads arms or behind them in an instant

She's not a sickly child, but she has a lot of allergies and needs special food a lot

She is also asthmatic which was a very...intense day to figure out

She and Rotxo are close her entire life

As she gets older, she likes to study plants and helps maintain the reef

She takes a lot of interest in the science of pandora and ends up apprenticing under the aging scientists she grew up with

With some help from Ronal, Norm, Tsireya, and Kiri (a terrifying combination that scares the shit out of her Dads and uncles) she ends up working to combine some of Earth's science with the spiritual practices of Pandora

Despite growing up in the tail end of a war, she really isn't much of a fighter

She can defend herself but much prefers to stay concentrated on her studies where she can help it

With help from Spider, she has a much healthier connection between her humanity and her connection to Ewya

Physically, she's latina

Her family was Spanish

They know her mother and father were colonists but her mother is MIA in the documents they found and her Father died of illness shortly after arriving on Pandora

There are records of several siblings that returned to Earth and a brother that didn't survive

Rotxo is the one haunted the most by her family

She doesn't worry much over them, she only wishes she could have seen her siblings or could reach out to them

Spider is, surprisingly, more accepting of the mystery that is her biological family

He knows what it's like to wonder but has learned the hard way that blood only means so much

But Rotxo wonders where they are, if they watch over her, and feels like he lost a chance in never meeting her siblings

It hurts him that they're separated but the conflicts with Earth mean there's nothing that can be done

He never really stops wondering about them

He braids them into her songcord when she's little, smaller beads that dangle from the main cord before her adoption

She braids it into a half crown on her head when she's older

She has long, medium brown hair that reaches her mid back in waves. She braids it a lot but rarely sticks to one hair style for long

She has tan skin, freckles from the sun, and a honeyed complexion

Rotxo likes to joke that she has Spiders eyes

She's a very relaxed older sister and is truthfully very similar to Tsireya

However, she is a bit of a jokester with them like her Uncle Lo'ak or Spider when she gets wound up

She likes to team up with one of her Dads or uncles to play little tricks on her brothers or the clan - using new spices in their food is a favorite

She has ADHD and so Spider has to help her work out her energy a lot

That is, unless Rotxo uses it to make her spar with him

He loves that she's so peaceful but he's seen too much not to make her a strong warrior if it's called for

hello!! this is a wonderful question and i'm so honored you brought it to me!! i ask myself the same thing regularly XD it's tricky to say for sure! bell-mere is rather quick-tempered and impulsive, so she does make some irrational decisions. like when she struck nami. (and other people's kids.) i get the feeling she joined the navy on a whim, based on the way genzo explained her backstory to nami. even the adoption of nami and nojiko was rash!! so it's fair to assume there was some impulse going into her final choice.

i believe she was also thinking about the future, too. if she kept up the lie that she had no daughters, they'd have to continue to hide and live in fear of being found. if they were found, god only knows what would happen to them. she wouldn't be able to afford tribute for them, so they'd probably get killed. or maybe they'd kill her. something Bad would happen, basically. and seeing as she and genzo are probably the toughest people on the island, and an east blue batch of marines would likely struggle to successfully take down a crew of grand-line fishmen, if they were somehow called in... she realized she stood no chance against the arlong pirates, and they wouldn't magically vanish anytime soon. they would hunt her and her family until someone tripped up and got them killed.

so, she cut to the chase. figured it was better if she died, rather than the girls. maybe there was hope they could outlive arlong. maybe someone would come along and miraculously wipe out arlong. but it wasn't worth putting her daughters lives in so much danger waiting for a hero. genzo loved them too, so i think she had a lot of faith he would take care of them. and pay for them?? i assume? i kind of hate how unclear their fate is. what happened a month after bell-mere's death, i wonder. did genzo help in the grove? how did they sustain themselves? especially nojiko?? the unknown fills me with great amounts of rage lmao

(this whole backstory fills me with rage tbh. it's why i'm working on a fix-it fic where she does lie and cora and law come in to help her out. they all deserve so much better)

Ghost: Ghost would *never* ever ever sacrifice someone else, but he would *always* sacrifice himself for the sake of someone else. He is deeply caring and protective, and he'd rather bleed or even die than let someone he loves be put in harm's way. He'd put himself between any danger to protect his family, he wouldn't hesitate, never again.

Phantom: Tom's biggest regret of all is pulling the trigger on his blaster and briefly ending Athena's life during Order 66. When she finally finds them in hiding, he spends the rest of his life protecting her. There's a lot Phantom thinks he's unforgivable for, but Athena's end is the thing he regrets more than anything.

Specter: Despite his hard and rude exterior, Specter will go out of his way to stop the suffering of others. He sees a loth/trash Cat with its head stuck somewhere? Free the cat. A kid wants a sweet but can't afford it? He'll steal it or buy it, give it to the parent for later, or the kid right then. But it goes both ways, it's not just for soft things... he'd end the life a creature if it couldn't be saved and was suffering. He's done it before, and as much as it pains him, he'd do it again. Anything to stop the suffering.

Banshee: I actually answered this one here, but the summary is this: on a mission to save refugees, a kid was killed under Banshee's protection. If he ever has a kid, he'll name his kid Jaia in their memory.

Wraith: I could write a book on Wraith's regrets, he is so nervous and anxious. His top three little regrets are:

1.) Getting drunk with his brothers and letting Phantom talk him into his one and only tattoo.

2.) That time he accidentally exposed himself to a very powerful aphrodisiac and spent several hours jacking off because he needed it to be OVER.

Annika Cree. Nika, or "Annie" to Dax and Dax alone, is still alive. But 3 days before the end of the clone war, when she finally returned to the jedi temple with her brother's body, and her lekku cut from her head. After all the torture and trauma, asking the council to help ease her pain, ease the loss of her brother and her first ever padawan as a master, she was met with "He is one with the force now, there's nothing more to be done." Dax wasn't there for Annika. He couldn't save her, or her brother, and when he felt Annika fall to the dark side, he never forgave himself for that. -Alright so Amar was assigned to you out of no where, she had been working with 049 at the time (more like slacking off though) when they got a new file put on their desk.

- 'SCP [chosen number], this SCP has the ability to remain immune towards many different SCP effects, the child also seems to be able to bend reality'

-at first Amar thought it was a mistake cause like?? Why would they put her on a team to work with some reality bending child? No one thought they'd try to make the kid turn the walls into candy? Or 343 forbid if Ambrose asked the kid to make another santa so there'd be twice as many presents.

-Hell the first day he went to work with the group she could feel the eyes of everyone on them.

-Eventually the group shrunk though, less and less people on the team till eventually it was just Amar. And for once Amar took their job seriously, he didn't know why really but she just enjoyed spending time with you and wanted to continue to do so

-you reminded him of TJ by a lot, maybe it was her missing TJ or maybe it was them liking how you looked up to him. After all you two always did pranks together and somehow always got away with it, or well at least you did. Somehow the 05 would find out Ambrose was at least involved.

-she laughs whenever you mess with someone, and you can't ever really spook Amar. Very rare occasions though you startle them and she has a good laugh afterwards

-and of course whenever he has their crazy ideas (cough cough making an entire super hero team, fight club etc) you're always involved since you never play fair.

-You and Amar get along fan-fucking-tastically as Amar would put it, hell pretty sure it she could they'd adopt you already.

••Clef••

-So Clef, oh boy.

-Clef had (similar to Amar) been assigned to you out of no where. Coming back with a bloody ukulele after beating the [REDACTED INFORMATION] he found a file on his desk with your number on it.

-he had already heard of you and wasn't exactly over the moon to be dealing with another reality bender, in fact he already had a distaste for you.

-that's right sadly Mr ukulele doesn't like you and probably never will. He hates 239 and he hates you to.

-A week into him becoming your lead researcher and he already went to the 05 asking for your termination or to find someway to terminate you.

-Which of fucking course they denied every time he asked.

-He gets annoyed by you easily especially with you being the little shit that you are, he also deep down fears you, fears what you could do, so sadly you two never get along.

••Glass••

-Dr Glass had been assigned to you out of no where, he was a little shocked he had been assigned to an SCP that had feelings, a mind, etc. The foundation had after all tore him a new one for getting attached to the last sentient SCP he was assigned to.

-And just like the other sentient SCPs he had been assigned to in the past, he grew attached and felt awful for you. You were just a child who didn't ask to he what you were, you were just a child who should be going to school making friends growing up with parents. But instead you're stuck in a containment cell never able to see the light and watching strangers poke and prod at your abilities.

-He always snuck in stuff for you that he thought you'd like, chocolate, little toys, and some crayons with paper. He'd always get reprimanded by the others but he didn't seem to care, in his head he was doing a good thing.

-He didn't mind you being a little shit, he felt bad and thought it was your way of expressing yourself. Expressing the pain you were probably going through. You were probably scared and knew this behavior as the only way to show it.

-He always tried to stand up for you, every mistake you made, every time you escaped containment. But the 05 eventually began to listen less and less until finally you had a new lead researcher and Dr. Glass was once again not trusted around sentient scps.

••Gears••

-Finally Gears. Not much to say with him, He's a numb old man with 0 emotions towards really anything.

-Anything you do whether big or small he just kinda blinks at, if you were to take his clipboard and break it he wouldn't even bat an eye. If you were to hug him not even a small smile would crack.

-He does his job, he doesn't form an attachment or anything to you. He treats you like every other SCP, a job to be done. A task to be checked off.

-He does speak highly about your abilities to being immune to a majority of other SCPs and even suggested some tests to be done on you.

-He's not afraid of your destructive behavior either, if you start being a little shit he just calls the MTF and lets them deal with you.

-no relationship formed between y'all, He's completely neutral with you.

Standing at ur door politely asking for more oc lore

HIHI HELLOOO!! it seems this is a rite of passage for many mutuals (they have all gotten this oc lore hehehe) So sooo i’ll try to make it as short as possible :]]

The story is set in Beckenshire, a fake town in florida! This world is literally just ours but with monsters/cryptids. And they’ve been here since the dawn of time but ever since the discovery of nuclear power, they seem to be drawn to nuclear plants/nuclear sites, and Beckenshire is an old mining/nuclear facility town so they have a lot of monsters!

so the main three characters are Ryan (he/him), Carmela (she/her) and Dana (they/she)!

Ryan is a basketball and dnd player who is the son of Adele and Josh Beckett and he has an older sister called Claire. What happens to him in the story is that his arm gets cut off by his gf Carmela D: and he gets a werewolf-ish bite which causes him to get yellow pupils, horns and pointy teeth :]

Carmela is a soccer player and her parents are Maria Luzardo and Daniel Rivera. Maria moved away three years ago after a fight with her husband. Carmela is not doing well in the story (well nobody is really lmao)- she gets emotionally manipulated into cutting ryan’s arm off and joined a cult (the cult made her cut his arm off btw)

Dana!! Love them soo much!! She runs a weather station for the town :]] Her parent’s are Noah B and José! Noah married José some years after his wife, Dana’s bio mum, died. Later in the story, a Fetch (monsters that take the form of a loved on to kill you) pretends to be Dana’s mum and tries to drown them and mermaid-ish monsters steal Dana’s left eye!

I have very lengthy lore for all the parents but i shall focus on Janette, Adele, and Josh (the polycule ever if they were good peoplee). So Adele and Josh started dating in highschool and Josh is transmasc but found that out in his late 20’s so they began as a sapphic couple. Adele is very transphobic (girl nooo) and blames Josh for Ryan also being transmasc (josh just break up with adele it’d be easierr)

Janette Biswar is the leader of the cult that Carmela joined! I love janette actually she’s amazing <-she’s evil but shshshhs. So janette and adele end up in a weird situationship/relationship thing?? Janette’s aro and she tells Adele that when they meet like ‘heyyy no romance please’ and adele is like ‘yeah sure sure whatever’ reminder that adele is cheating on her husband and janette has no clue about this!! Adele ends up falling in love, it could be obsession idk if its love but here we are shsvkshdkdn, with janette and she uses the ‘your heartless’ line which is like GIRL NOOO

Putting aside their drama, Janette uses Carmela’s mum against her to blackmail her into cutting off Ryan’s arm. Janette dies twice in this story, first one being burnt alive inside the cult building. Adele is the one who lit the place on fire btw. The second time is quite gory if you think about it soo here we go:

So one of the monsters in this world is called Sprites! They are little spirits that inhabit inanimate objects and you can give them sweet treats to get the object back! There is another type of them which I’m calling Sprite 2.0 at the moment which inhabit dead bodies or making deals with people on their deathbed (literally and methaporically). Janette makes a deal with them when she’s dying in the burning building.

The catch here is that the sprites will give your body energy and like magic fuel but that energy is so rich with magic that bright blue flowers with thorns that grow under the skin of the person. They are always trying to get out of the body, but they aren’t able to break the skin by their own. When your skin gets cut, all the flowers will rush to the cut and push their way out of your body.

So Janette gets shot by her son/nephew (that’s complicated but yeah its her sister kid she adopted) and its in the chest but just above her collarbone so if she got to the hospital she’d be fine. But the flowers under her skin rush towards that wound and tear the skin away to let them out. They tear away at her heart, lungs and windpipe, but grow reallyyyy slowly so she’s just lying there slowly dying while Adele’s like ‘hahhaa L imaginr fuck you’ basically.

Good question! And one I've considered as well!

I think it's different for all of them, including Michael and even Star. It also largely depends on three things - how much they individually care, how old they are, and what exactly the holiday/event means to them. (Under readmore due to length lmao sorry -_-")

David: Turned in the early 1870s - The biggest holiday for him would likely be Christmas as he was some denomination of Christian (though if you asked him, he'd say with a roll of his eyes that he'd be in Hell purely for how little he actually attended church when he was alive). The custom of Halloween came over from Ireland and started to comebine with other fall celebrations into the fetus that would become what we today know as Halloween in about the 1840s with the immigrants coming from the potato famine, and David's parents were children when they immigrated, so he'd have some idea of that.

I think he still likes the idea of the holidays, but it's hit or miss whether he celebrates them any more. In a lot of ways, he sees them as a very human thing, and though he can still see the spirit of celebrating or commemorating the passage of time, certain points of the year like Equinoxes or Solstices (times of power), he may not do anything particularly special.

He also doesn't celebrate his birthday for similar reasons. He keeps a memory of it, but...any more, it's just to add another tally mark on the wall of his mind to count the years, the decades he's been alive.

Dwayne: Turned in 1900 - Dwayne doesn't tend to enjoy European holidays. Most of them are pretty well tied with religion, and given his history, and his outlook on most of humanity, he tends to avoid much of anything to do with them. Even if he was human, I think the sheer commercialism would drive him batshit up the belfry. And really, it's not limited to Christian celebrations either - the new age witchy stuff with Samhain, Yule, the Eight Major Wiccan holidays; even eastern religious stuff tends to put him off (though that's more for lack of familiarity and the similarities he sees in white people adopting the language of eastern philosophy but not actually understanding it feels much, MUCH too close to home.)

Dwayne will enjoy drinks at a party, but he won't really stick around for anything more. If you want to give him a gift or something, fine, but don't expect one back.

This attitude doesn't really change when Laddie comes into the picture, but Dwayne doesn't want to make him sad, so he lets the kid have fun with the others.

Dwayne does not know his birthday. I am unsure what cultural practices the Haida people of the western coast of Canada had in regards to birthdays or something akin to it, so I cannot write that for him, but regardless, because of what happened to him, Dwayne does not remember even what time of year his birthday was in. He counts the years like David does though, and just marks it at January 1st for convenience's sake.

Paul: Turned in 1956 - Paul does enjoy most of what we consider to be modern holidays! Paul came from a pretty religious family, mainline Protestant (his father was a pastor of their church), so he definitely celebrated the big ones, like Christmas and Easter. Now. Whether or not he liked them.....well. He likes them here and now. Paul enjoys candy, sweets of most kinds but especially candy. He likes the way the seasons bring different flavors with them - peppermint in winter even on the sunny west coast, chocolate at Halloween, popsicles in the sticky summer, and more recently - yes, he's that bitch - pumpkin spice in the fall. Oh, and drinking. Paul mainly celebrates with lots of indulgences of many kinds, and is always down for a party no matter what it is you're having it for.

Sometimes, though, you CAN catch him in an off moment, usually right after the holidays, or during ones like Easter or Christmas, where he won't. Really be in the mood. Paul doesn't 'come down' so to speak often, but when he does, he ends up hitting the proverbial floor of his emotions pretty hard. Sometimes, his past gets the better of him still, and seeing as his bane is being affected by holiness, it still hurts to pray, but that doesn't mean he won't do it - even if out of a sense of chasing the ghosts off his back.

Paul treats himself for his birthday, and when Marko came to the pack, of course he wanted to do something nice for Paul. Usually a little gift, or just saying 'whatever we do together tonight, happy birthday'. He keeps birthday trinkets from Marko especially close.

Marko: Turned 1980 - Marko is similar to Paul in a lot of respects. Even more modern, but oddly both more and less religious. We call Paul a 'good Protestant' and Marko a 'bad Catholic', and it's true. Marko's family did pretty much the whole nine yards, having come right over from Italy and then having their son. Marko's idea of holidays usually involved a lot of church, which wasn't...unfun? He had friends, but it wasn't ever the most exciting thing for a rambunctious kid to be doing. Marko likes summer and fall holidays the most, when it's basically just an excuse to eat a lot of food, drink and lot of drinks, and have fun.

He and Paul have a blast treating Laddie - they even went trick or treating with him the year that they had him, Marko having made Laddie a custom wolf mask and tail with a pelt that Dwayne had saved from a coyote. Star was. Well. She was impressed with the craftsmanship and didn't want to spoil Laddie's pure vibrating joy at the gift. She saved her complaints for later.

Marko isn't sure how he feels about his birthday to be honest. A part of him still wants to celebrate it, because that still makes logical sense to him. After having done it for the past 18 years of his life it feels more weird to stop than not. And. It's not really about the gifts, but being an only child (and a boy) he had a fair amount of attention poured onto him, but he feels...weird asking for that from the Boys, even if by all rights, they'd give him attention for a special day. Marko and Paul will share some pastries and drinks, maybe a body (or three) and Marko is satisfied. Sometimes he wonders if he will ever stop bothering, like David and Dwayne.

On the whole for the pack, holidays tend to be small affairs. Feasts Hunts, similar to the hunt shown in the movie are actually much rarer events, only occurring once and a while throughout the year. This is getting a little into oc and YCCM territory, but there is a coven of vampires called The Sarahs that the Boys end up meeting and becoming allies with, and they spend major holidays with them when they're invited.

Vampires have things they celebrate...sort of as a culture? They're not a monolith, and indeed, pretty isolated. A pack from just a state over will look totally different than another, and largely depends on what the members celebrate or decide to do.

Vampires tend to commemorate when they were turned more than when they were born, they celebrate Centennials (hundred year marks), they celebrate 'rainbow teeth' which is when they get old enough (usually older than about 200 or so) and their teeth start showing the opalescence of their bones and blood. They celebrate first kills, if it was consensual. They celebrate mateship.
