hello u gave permission to yell about blorbos. im here to cry over percy jackson (in heroes of olympus specifically house of hades) im rereading the books and WAAAAHHHH MY BABYYYY HES SOOOOOO he carried the literal weight of the world on his shoulders he's loyal to a FAULT as in he almost destroyed the world for it he loves his family he loves his friends he loves annabeth so so much he fell into the worst depths of hell for her and he's so guilty about not caring enough about some of the monsters he's saved and people he's run into and the ones he DID kill , everyone looks up to him all the time and he has to live up to these expectations and now he has to make sure he and annabeth get out of tartarus alive and stop the apocalypse and his life has been one giant race since he as 12 i just want him to be able to REST for a moment please,,,, leave him alone let him live life as a teenager without worrying about saving the world for once in his life WAAAH (and don't even get me started on annabeth or we'll be here for hours)

I’d like to think that sometime after graduating college, Percy and Annabeth decide to go on a sort of “Greatest Hits of Their Preteen Lives” road trip across the US 

They’ve always talked about doing one, and it’s not until the last two years of college that they start planning one for real

Their friends somehow catch wind of this trip and every day they’re bombarded with suggestions

And as soon as graduation’s over, they head off

First, they make a stop at Annabeth’s house in San Francisco for a few days

There, they load up an antique cherry-red Mustang that Annabeth’s father had secretly been restoring for her as a graduation present

(I just really like the image of Percabeth with the hood down in a classic car cruising down some interstate)

While they’re there, they also pay a visit to Alcatraz island where they saved Briares ages ago

Over the course of a month, they wind across the country revisiting locations from their quests

They go to Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, The St. Louis Arch, Mt. Saint Helens (they definitely recreate their first kiss), Waterland, and many others

Some of the locations are places where they can easily laugh about how young and inexperienced they were, some make them grateful the other person is still there with them, and some make them quiet as they remember the friends they’ve lost

The trip eventually ends with them on the beach at Montauk where the Jacksons now keep a permanent cabin thanks to Sally’s book royalties

The sun’s setting and they’re sitting on the sand, holding hands, facing the ocean and the fact that they’re soon going to be separated again

Annabeth’s going to grad school for architecture while interning at an older half-sibling’s firm

Percy’s been asked by Chiron to stay year-round as a camp counselor and instructor

So they’ll still see each other, just not as often as they’d like

When the sun’s almost completely gone, Percy turns to her with the same crooked smile on his face

“Remember what happened the night of my sixteenth birthday?”

She grins back, already knowing what’s about to happen

“Why don’t you help me jog my memory?”

Then they’re running and laughing, seeing who can get to the ocean first

And within the silvery water interspersed with brilliant hues of orange from the sunset, it was pretty much the second best underwater kiss of all time

speaking of the silena death, the parallels between clarisse x silena and patrocles x achilles ?! UNMATCHED we literally cannot ignore the fact that that was a clear allusion to that tragic love story that was recognized in ancient Greece

The moment I laid eyes on you.

Part one

A Percabeth coffee shop au, where they haven’t meet for the first time.

The nice colours. The smell of lilac and roses. I love it here. I looked around the flower shop and waited for a costumer to come through the door.

I was scrolling through Pinterest when I heard the door open. I looked up and there was a girl with blonde, curly hair pulled into a ponytail. She was wearing an orange t-shirt and light grey jeans. She walked over to a nice bouquet of sunflowers by the window of the shop.

I walked around the counter and over to her and asked as politely as I could “Can I help you?” She looked up at me -and wow her eyes are pretty- “No, I think I’m good.” She said with a smile. “Oh ok.” I replied and I turned around to walk back to the counter when she started speaking again. “Actually I do need help. I have a question.” I walked back over. “What do you need?” I asked.

“I wanted to know the price of these beautiful sunflowers.” She said looking at the sunflowers in awe.

“They are seven dollars.”

“I would like to buy them.” The girl said walking over to the counter. I followed after her and walked behind the counter.

She placed the sunflowers on the counter.

“My name’s Percy by the way.”

“Annabeth.” She said not looking up from the flowers.

She bought her flowers, I waved goodbye and she walked out of the shop.

Later that day

“Oh my god, how long do you plan on talking about her.” Grover said slightly annoyed “she’s just one girl you guys hardly talked.”

“I know but there’s something about her that made me want to see her all the time.“ I said in awe. “Maybe she’ll come back tomorrow.” Grover said clearly wanting to change the subject.

“Ok I can tell you don’t want to talk about this anymore. Do you want to watch the little mermaid?” I asked.

“Sure why not. At least you will be talking about something else.” Grover said reaching for the remote to turn on The little mermaid.

I walked over to the other side of the room and grabbed some pillows. I threw them at Grover and we made ourselves comfortable on the floor in front of the tv.

The next day

I walked to work and sat down behind the counter waiting for a costumer to come. I heard the door open and I got up quickly and felt myself get excited. Yay, is it Annabeth! I looked around and saw a few costumers who had just walked in, but none of them were her. I was surprised by how disappointed I felt when it wasn’t her.

A few more hours went by and she still hadn’t showed up. Maybe she was just in town for a day. The door opened and I got up slowly still sad that Annabeth hadn’t showed up.

“Hello, Percy.” Said a familiar voice.

I looked up and smiled. She came. Annabeth has come back. “Hi, Annabeth.” I replied looking at her with a big smile. “Do you know where i could get lunch ?” Annabeth said seeming embarrassed by the question. “Y’a i do. My shift will be over in ten minutes.” I said cheerfully. “I’ll show you where it is.”

“Agh fine.” Annabeth said and rolled her eyes.

I can’t wait to see Grovers face when I tell him I had lunch with Annabeth.

1: Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?

Honestly..... no. It happened so slowly that I didn’t realize it. I can look back at their scenes and think “oh wow they’re so in love and I ship it” right from the start, but I know it didn’t happen at the start. I’m fairly certain it was between TFA and TLJ because I remember screaming when Finn rushes over to Poe after the blast. but... i don’t know when it changed between TFA and TLJ? 

2: Have you ever read a FanFiction about 2?

YES LMAOOOOOOO. 

3: Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr avatar?

Surprisingly, no. 

4: If 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?

Cool cool. They were never canon and one of them is dead. A+ question and now I’m gonna go cry.

5: Why is 1 so important?

WHEW okay. Zutara. Push and pull. Fire and water. Sun and the moon. They are not opposites, but a complimentary pair. They go together, not in opposition. They aren’t the same, but they contrast each other perfectly. They grew together, found forgiveness together, understood each other better than anyone else. I could go on, but this sums up the main points.

As for why they’re important to me, it’s because they were so perfect for each other and they worked so perfectly in the story. Enemies to friends to lovers. Redemption. Forgiveness. Growth. UGH PERFECT. I also love both of these characters and they cared about each other to the ends of the world and I will go down with this ship.

6: Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?

7: Out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

Probably Bellarke :) Braime though...... they have so much chemistry ........ and Finnpoe.......... oh my god

HMMMMMM. I’d say Bellarke is really high, but so is Percabeth. Both ships have been through hell together (some more literally than others), are willing to go through hell for each other, and will stand by each other.

9: How many times have you read/watched 10’s fandom?

I’ve watched seasons 1-7 three or four times in whole. Season 8 only once. And then I’ve watched only their seasons from season 2-4 three additional times.

10: Which ship has lasted the longest?

You know what. I just realized. That all my ships. Are either not canon. Or they’re dead. OR their show was cancelled immediately after they got together.

We’re going... 14 books strong since their first kiss? maybe more? idk its so hard to count because they’re main characters for a solid 10 books, but then they’re in the background for 7 other books and agh. 

They’ve been together for the longest by FAR though.

Bellarke vs Percabeth. This is a hard decision. Both have faced a bunch of monsters and have fought many battles. They’re both strong leaders. They’ve both beaten the odds many many times.

I’d go with Bellarke because they’ve shown time and time again that they’re willing to play dirty and willing to do whatever it takes for their people. I feel like Percabeth might struggle with who the zombies are? and ? idk.

14: Is 4 still together?

first of all, RUDE. they were never together. but i mean. they died in each other’s arms so... they were together until the end?? is that even sadder than it was before???

15: Is 10 canon?

lmao for like 3 seconds and then SOMEONE ruined SOMEONE’S character. so. they are canon, but they aren’t endgame.

16: If all ten ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?

Oooo this is a hard one. I’m going to say Bellarke for reasons mentioned above, but Braime is a close second.

17: Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?

They literally have one scene together. nobody needs to sabotage them. they do that all on their own.

18: Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

HONESTLY, all of them, for the most part. Mainly because they’re all almost not canon/not endgame so I feel like there’s usually a lot of disregard towards those ships?

The one I’ve had to explain the most is Fremione though, if that counts for anything.

19: Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?

I used to, but now I’m too sad :/

20: If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all up forever, which ship would you sink?

Lightning Thief Musical Thoughts

You can read below the cut, but there will be SPOILERS for The Lightning Thief musical. You've been warned (or enticed, take your pick.)

-Chris McCarrell was fabulous. They made Percy more of a drama queen for the musical, but it works so well and he’s hilarious. 'Good Kid' nearly made me cry.

-James Hayden Rodriguez, who played Luke, was super cute (and he was ripped, jeez. He also played Ares, and at one point was wearing a tank top that showed off his arms. No complaints here, lol.) He also looked kinda like Marcus from Detroit: Become Human.

-I love Jorrel Javier, who played Grover. He gave off George Salazar vibes, but at the same time he put his own spin on Grover/Dionysus that made me crack up. They also made better, more realistic goat legs for his costume and it looked really cool.

-When Percy gets to CHB, he's talking to Luke and then Grover comes onstage and is super apologetic and shy because of what happened with Sally and the Minotaur. And Percy just...barrels straight into Grover and they hugged for like a solid 30 seconds. Percy was overjoyed to see him and he was so relieved that someone familiar was there for him. (It makes up for the Jack/Crutchie hug that we were so maddeningly deprived of in Newsies Live.)

-Bianca di Angelo made a very brief appearance during the Lotus hotel scene and you could practically hear all the fans internally screaming "holy crap!!!"

-Chiron's costume consisted of a teacherly suit and a horse tail strapped to his back. Everyone lost their minds when he stepped out of the wheelchair and started galloping around the stage. Ryan Knowles also played Poseidon and Hades, and he nailed all of their different mannerisms.

-Oracle: "What do you wish to know about your destiny?" 

Percy: "I have a destiny?!?!"

-Charon was a woman and she was wearing this super sparkly gold/silver dress and had big foofy 80s hair. She had robed spirits for backup dancers and Cerberus was a DJ. (I’m guessing Joe Tracz just took the DOA Recording Studios thing and ran with it.)

-Hades had a sparkly gold jacket that matched Charon's dress and he was also a big drama queen.

-Percy, talking to Hades about the master bolt: "There is no way in Hell that..." *looks around, remembers he's in the Underworld* "...Oh."

-During 'My Grand Plan', towards the end, Annabeth is singing about how someday she hopes someone will notice her and then she turns and sees Percy watching her and she smiles at him. It was such a soft™ Percabeth moment and my heart couldn't take it.

-They made a reference to the dam snack bar. Amazing.

-I actually did start crying during 'The Tree on the Hill'. They had Luke, Annabeth, and Thalia in the background. When Thalia died, she knelt and had her sword driven into the ground in front of her while Luke hugged Annabeth. Goddamn. And also Grover was on the verge of tears the whole song and I wanted to hug him so badly. Thalia also looked really cool and punk.

-At certain points when Percy was being sarcastic, he’d start talking like a sassy drag queen and I was dying of laughter.

-When Ares showed up, the lights in the background turned red and it looked like blood was dripping down the set. It was awesome! They also had an effect that looked like flames for the Underworld scenes.

-Poseidon talks like a stereotypical surfer dude. No, I’m not kidding.

-Poseidon and Sally were flirting with each other while Percy was standing between them and he was so uncomfortable and looked royally embarrassed.

-They included Echidna and the Chimera, which was a nice touch.

-The lighting for ‘The Campfire Song’ was this really nice shade of purple and the little dance they did around the campfire was goofy and cute.

-Seriously, James Rodriguez was SO good. He really made it seem like he was genuinely Percy’s friend and then the confrontation scene in the forest happened and UGH. I loved him.

-Speaking of the confrontation scene, after Percy gets stabbed he’s lying on the ground like he’s unconscious and Annabeth starts shaking his shoulders and trying to hear his heartbeat. She says “Seaweed Brain?” desperately and when Percy opened his eyes he said “Wise Girl” all mesmerized. I’m pretty sure half the theatre squealed “awww”. My little Percabeth shipper heart was so happy. 

-Someone’s grandma that was sitting in front of us was whooping and cheering louder than everyone after Charon’s song. Idk if she just liked the style of the song, but she was really enthusiastic and it was super endearing. You go, Grandma Lady.

-”Bean. Dip.” That is all.

-They played up the flirtatiousness between Luke and Annabeth a little more. At one point during the campfire scene he steals a bite of food off her spoon and they giggle.

-The costuming and lighting and the set and everything was amazing.

-Kristen and Chris are actually Annabeth and Percy. Their chemistry is so cute and sweet.

-[about Medusa’s head] ”It’s a do-it-yourself sculpture kit!”

-”Hi, Ms. Jackson!!!”

-G: ”He’s half-bull!”

P: “So are you!” 

G: “I’M HALF-GOAT!”

-While in line for stagedoor, I struck up a conversation with the girl standing behind me. She’s an English teacher and came to Chicago all the way from Cincinnati to see TLT musical so she could tell her students about it. She saw that I had my copy of the book to get signed and then she was like “Agh, I should have grabbed one of my copies before I left.” Apparently she used the PJO books to introduce her students to mythology (smart lady.) She and her friend that she was with were also huge theatre nerds, which, I mean, come on. Huge bonus.

-Overall, I really, really loved the musical and I highly recommend that all Percy Jackson fans go and see it if they can. I actually got to do stagedoor this time and James Rodriguez and Jorrel Javier came out to sign autographs. They were very sweet and signed my copy of The Lightning Thief book.

Percabeth Fourth of July AU where Luke isn’t evil 

I. Annabeth

“So… Beckendorf just asked me out, and he was saying that a certain someone convinced him to,” said Silena Beauregard. “Made me wonder when your Seaweed Brain will start taking his own advice.”

“I guess he’s being dumb about it. He’s probably scared I’d say no.” Annabeth waited long enough. “I’ll just go ahead and ask him later.” It was only hours until the fireworks display, so she might as well get it over. She didn’t really care about the whole ‘gender roles in dating’ because 1) since when can’t a girl be brave enough to make the first move, and 2) she was not dating Percy Jackson.

The Fourth of July is the biggest dating event of the summer, but that won’t stop her from bringing her best friend. I guess tonight would be the first time he’d be labeled as ‘her date’, which will definitely not be a problem because that’s all that it will be. They would be back to their bickering and teasing the next day.

It’s not that Percy was her only option. Her half-brother Malcolm told her earlier that she could ask anyone in camp (who wasn’t afraid of her) and that person would willingly take her. But her team had just won Capture the Flag and she doesn’t want her day to be ruined because of her search for a potential boyfriend. The who’s-dating-who and I-thought-he/she-liked-him/her could get messy.

Thank gods she has Percy to save her from that.

Sure, they would suspect that she and Percy had gotten together but the whole camp has been doing so since Day 1. She was never really bothered by it.

Why wasn’t I? She blot out the thought when she saw a glimpse of jet black hair and blue armor. He looked lost, nervous even, so Annabeth called out his name but Luke had gone in between them.

“Annabeth! Hey, could I talk to you for a second?” Annabeth blinked. He was her childhood crush after all and she can guess what he was going to ask next. She liked him before but that’s all in the past. Luke was like a brother to her so they kept it that way.

And… perhaps the more time she spent with Percy, the more she thought of what could happen between them instead.

Wait, what? She was so surprised by that realization that she forgot Luke was right in front of her.

“H-hey Luke! What’s up,” she said. She frowned when she saw Percy turn away in an instant, grabbing Grover with him. Then she thought, What if Percy didn’t ask me because he just didn’t want to? That possibility never occurred to her. Maybe it was her pride, but she had a feeling Percy liked her too. Or if he didn’t, then he’d still rather go with his best friend, right? Or maybe he didn’t want to make it weird between us? Or what if he just wanted to spend it with the boys like Grover and Tyson?

“Great game earlier! I guess, Hermes and Athena made a great team.” Luke looked back to see what was causing Annabeth’s sudden change of expression.

“Oh yeah— yeah! We totally kicked their butts!” She smiled and clapped his shoulder a little too hard. She caught his attention so he wouldn’t see Percy walking away. She didn’t want others to think that a guy had been capable of making her miserable. Am I miserable?

“And I was thinking… you know as victorious cabin leaders, we should go see the fireworks together?” Annabeth was a little surprised he would come with her, but, of course she had heard rumors around camp that Luke is four years late to have a crush on her back.

Annabeth was conflicted. She really wanted to go with Percy tonight, but she can’t say no either. Luke was her friend way before she even met Percy. But he’s not your best friend.

“Um… I—“ she thought carefully. Her eyes wandered the way she’d look for Percy and signal for help. But no one was there.“Yeah, sure! I’d love to.”

Luke sighed in relief. “Oh thank gods. Well… I guess I’ll see you at 9.” He smiled.

“Great! See you.” Then she heard the rustling of leaves behind her.

II. Percy

When he saw Luke walk towards her, he kind of panicked and grabbed Grover along with him.

“Seriously, Percy? You’re chickening out now?” Grover rolled his eyes.

“I’m not chickening out!” Percy exclaimed. “Luke is going to ask Annabeth out so I’m in a 911 situation here.”

“So interrupt him. Like, now! Then, Annabeth would know that you’re an option.”

“No! I can’t do that to Annabeth. She used to have a crush on that guy. And Luke’s my friend! I can’t just butt in and ruin his chances.”

“Used to. Past tense. And you’re ruining your chances because you won’t do anything about it.”

“Agh! I don’t know. I don’t know what to do!” Percy scanned the area and hid behind the bushes so he could listen to Luke and Annabeth’s conversation.

Luke said, “And I was thinking… you know as victorious cabin leaders, we should go see the fireworks together?”

Annabeth was hesitant. Percy began to plead silently. Please, please, please say no.

“Yeah, sure! I’d love to,” she replied. Minutes ago, his heart was racing and now all he can feel is it dropping.

Their conversation ended shortly then Luke left with the biggest smile. That could’ve been me. Why didn’t I ask her sooner? I was with her all summer.

Grover rested his hand on his shoulder and gave a reassuring smile. Percy slumped against the bush, which was a mistake because it caused a rustling noise.

“Percy? Grover?” Annabeth looked over to their hiding place. “Um— W-what are you— Were you eavesdropping?”

“Annabeth!” The Fates are a cruel thing. Percy got up and laughed nervously. “Oh— what are you doing here? I mean, what am I doing here? I was— you know— um…” He nudged Grover and gave his ‘Help!’ face.

“Hey, Annabeth! Good to see you too. Well, my friend Percy here wanted to appreciate nature with me. You know, I do love thanking the magnificent Pan for all the beauty he had blessed our camp wi—“

“Grover.”  She glared at him. She could tell they were lying.

“Okay, okay! Percy… wanted to ask you out to watch the fireworks which is now a bummer because we overheard you and Luke talking.” He turned to Percy and said, “Pleasedon’tkillme.” Percy eyes went wide open. He scowled at Grover. Traitor. Grover rushed out and left them both alone.

“Percy?” She looked at him, also startled.

“… I’m sorry. It’s true. I was going to ask you out but I didn’t even think that maybe you’d want to go with Luke. I mean you did like him before, and when you said you weren’t anymore, I was like— ‘Hey, this is my chance!’ To ask you out, I mean! And now we’re old enough to go to the fireworks with dates— but you know, we’d go as friends! Because we’re best friends. Yup— that’s what we are and I just think that—“

“Percy.” Thank gods, she interrupted. He was completely embarrassing himself. He was a fumbling idiot.

“I was going to ask you out too.” Annabeth smiled, then chuckled. “You really took your time, didn’t you? You know… I’d say yes. I was just waiting for you to ask.”

Percy gaped at her, trying to process what she just said.

“But I guess it’s my fault too because I should’ve gone ahead and asked you out before. I mean, I really wanted to go with my best friend,” she added.

No way he would have thought that Annabeth wanted to ask him. Percy sighed. “I guess we’re both too late then.”

“Yeah.” She gave a slight smile. “But you know… it’s just fireworks.”

“Yeah just fireworks! And it’s just one night.”

“And we’ve spent every other night together.” Panic came to Annabeth’s face as she realized what she said. “I mean! Hanging out as friends! You know, after dinner and all. At the dock or when we’re training and sparring. Not like—“

Percy laughed. I guess we’re both idiots. If he had said it aloud, she’d probably punch him hard.

Even if the evening didn’t go as planned, Percy felt great. He was with Grover, recounting his conversation with Annabeth. Grover didn’t understand why he was smiling and all dopey if he failed to ask her out. Percy didn’t tell him that he felt hopeful after it. Maybe next summer and in the year after that, he could take Annabeth to see the fireworks whether it’s as best friends or something more.

Will there be any um.. romantic relationships amongst the gladers?

Nope, probably not. Romance wasn’t really a theme or plot point in the books, or the movies. I’m not even sure how “romantic” Thomas and Teresa will be. I didn’t really see their romance as well as most people, and after she betrayed him, it felt weird. The “romance” between them will most likely be really subtle. We’re not gonna get Thomas’s inner thoughts going “oml I love her so much look at her eyes agh”. Romance is not the most important part of the story; it’s about escaping the maze, surviving, confronting fear and pain, the importance of camaraderie.

However, if the reaction to the movies and books is any indication, I don’t think people will have a problem seeing a romantic subplot where there wasn’t intended to be, and to that I say: “Go right tf ahead my dude. Be free, my children. Ship tf outta them. This a America, after all. Be free.” *national anthem plays in the background*

But for real, even though there will likely not be any official romances, I don’t think that will be a problem for hardcore shippers. Like i said, people can and will ship anything and everything they need or want to, and anything the two ship-ees do will be adequate proof of their romantic entanglement.

If the powers of Shippers can ship things like Percy and Annabeth, Connor and Evan, Lance and Pidge, Sarah and Katherine, Pulitzer and a bag of thumbtacks, or the newsies, then there should be no problem shipping the Glader ships with the information given. :)

DISCLAIMER IN CASE I INADVERTENTLY OFFENDED ANYONE: I don’t hate anyone’s ships. That’s not why romance is taking a back burner in this musical. Shipping is lovely. I think some ships are great (Percabeth), I think some ships are not good (Connor and Evan; Connor was kind of a jerk and was mean to Evan so idk where tf people on this one), and some ships are just…. (*flash to Pulitzer and that bag of thumbtacks*)…. idek. But I do not hate any ships. People can ship what they want. Plz do not hate me for not putting ships!
