Concerto Köln at Lincoln Center

鼓舞と喝采。

こどものころって

見るもの、聴くもの、触れるもの

それこそすべてが新しくて

その出会いの奔流は、全身のいたるところをかけめぐり

とことん暴れまわったあげく、突如ひらひらとした薄い膜となって

体内にぴたっと張りつく

そういった感覚があってさ。

『風の谷のナウシカ』のエンディングで、王蟲が青い目をして森に帰っていくシーンを観て、言いようのない感情に襲われ、急に泣きたくなって、その恥ずかしさから布団に逃げ込んだこと、Broadway で『Cats』で、席につくこともできず、その幻のような世界にひきこまれたこと、自分の手で収穫して母が炊いてくれた大根が、驚きの甘さだったこと。

そんな取るに足らないひとつひとつの積み重ねられた記憶が私の中に潜み、同時に私を包んでいる。

でね、そういった感覚は、月日を重ねていくことで、ある程度は得てきたであろう、経験と知識により、認識や比較が習慣化され、薄れていく。

もしくは、刺激に貪欲になりすぎたのか、はたまた鈍感になったのか、もういれこむことができないのか。

そんなこと考えていた。

そんなことなかった。

Lincoln Center’s 2017/18 Great Performers (リンカーン・センターズ・2017/18 グレイト・パフォーマーズ)というイベントのひとつである、Concerto Köln (コンチェルト・ケルン)のコンサートを観た。

ドイツのケルンを拠点とする室内アンサンブルの Concerto Köln は、1985年に設立して以来、指揮者のいない、古楽器による演奏スタイルが注目されている楽団であり、運営、楽曲の選定に至るまで、楽員が行っている。

指揮者は登場しない。 

ヴァイオリンとヴィオラ奏者は立っている。

チェロ、コントラバス、リュート、チェンバロ奏者は座っている。

メインとなる曲目は、Antonio Vivaldi (アントニオ・ヴィヴァルディ)の 「The Four Seasons (四季)」である。

黒のノースリーブ・ドレスにロンググローブを合わせたバイオリニスト

ギターのようにラフな姿勢で演奏するリュート奏者

ステージの中央に置かれた細面のチェンバロ

音の強弱と振動

演奏する者の体の揺れ

呼吸を合わせる瞬間

16人のアンサンブル

弾ける拍手

じんと熱くなる手のひら

会場に膨らんでいく昂ぶり

在った。

それは今も在る。

そして、それはいつかふとしたときに私の表層に現われ、私に会いにくる。

コンサートマスターであるヴァイオリニストの佐藤俊介氏が、観客の喝采に、3度のアンコールで応えた。

彼の眩さと、それを見守る楽員の姿、観客のすべてが共有した恍惚は

私の内側にもまた張りついているようだ。

Handel’s Concerto Grosso, Opus 6, no. 6 in G Minor. HWV 324. This is by far my favourite of the lot, one which I first encountered at least 9 years ago on a CD, now lost. I tracked it down via YouTube. That last movement with a characteristic descending G Minor scale struck me from the beginning.
