It's really funny that Noelle's mom is so over-protective in every other area of her life, but gives her 100% unmonitored internet access. One thing I’ve always found interesting is that Rick never really showed us the bridge between Percabeth being just friends to being in a serious relationship. A few little moments in The Staff of Hermes were the closest we got. Like, we see them say “I love you” to each other a few times throughout Heroes of Olympus, but it’s never implied that those were the first times they said it. Which means before TLH even starts, the two of them have gotten to that point. But In Staff of Hermes (which takes place a month into their relationship), they’re still in that slightly awkward phase of their relationship—you know, where they’re super into each other and obviously enjoying the perks of being a couple (aka making out), but haven’t quite settled into that groove of mature, comfortable romance yet. But by the time Percy gets kidnapped (just three months later), they clearly have found that groove, which is evident the second they reunite in MoA, because they’re totally at ease with each other, affectionate, and intimate in a way that supports the implication that those “I love you’s” I mentioned have already been exchanged. So it just makes me wonder when that shift happened? At what point in those three short months did they go from “I’m just happy we’re still together, honestly” to “I'm in love with you, and this is forever"?

Ugh, what I would give to see how they were right before Percy got kidnapped. Still holding on to a bit of that teenage casualness that disappeared during their 6 month separation, but also hopelessly in love and finally open and comfortable with it. URRGGGHHH!!!!

the muffled white noise of some old ass original Batman movie played in the background, one of the goofy ones like 1966. you could just barely hear the nasally ‘Golly Batman!’ the twinkish robin said over your and bill’s lips smacking together, clammy hands flexing around your hips.

you two had been lip-locked for the better part of an hour by now, eyes shut as you almost hypnotically sucked face. he’d invited you over (read: demanded your attention) to spend time together under the guise of finally explaining the batman lore to you like you’d been begging him to do for months, but as bill does, the two of you never got to that point.

he’d yanked you into his lap, quite boldly for the awkward little freak, about ten minutes into the movie, eyes looking anywhere but yours while he declared he wanted to make out. You’d obliged, obviously, ever amused by the grown man currently beet red in the face still acting like he was this suave bad boy.

so here you were now, soaking in the faint taste of mint (oh he’d definitely scrubbed his mouth for an hour before you got there.) and his soft whimpers caught in the back of his throat. his hands, while twitchy and grabby, never ventured from their post you’d originally out them on, he was a nervous wreck, eyes tightly shut and glasses askew, you pulled away for air with a breathy giggle and bill frowned, “the hell are you laughin’ at?”

his words held no bite, you slid off his thick glasses and pressed a sweet kiss to the bridge of his nose, adoring the unfocused puppy dog eyes that stared back at you, “you, ya fuckin’ dork,” and just like that you were sucked back in, heart full of fuzzies and body warm locked up in his as you sat perched in his lap, hands tangled in his slightly greasy hair.

one of the things about being an educator is that you hear what parents want their kids to be able to do a lot. they want their kid to be an astronaut or a ballerina or a politician. they want them to get off that damn phone. be better about socializing. stop spending so much time indoors. learn to control their own temper. to just "fucking listen", which means to be obedient.

one of the things i learned in my pedagogy classes is that it's almost always easier to roleplay how you want someone to act. it's almost always easier to explain why a rule exists, rather than simply setting the rule and demanding adherence.

i want my kids to be kind. i want them to ask me what book they should read next, and i want to read that book with them so we can discuss it. i want my kid to be able to tell me hey that hurt my feelings without worrying i'll punish them. i want my kid to be proud of small things and come running up to me to tell me about them. i want them to say "nah, i get why this rule exists, but i get to hate it" and know that i don't need them to be grateful-for-the-roof-overhead while washing the dishes. i want them to teach me things. i want them to say - this isn't safe. i'm calling my mom and getting out of this. i want them to hear me apologize when i do fuck up; and i want them to want to come home.

the other day a parent was telling me she didn't understand why her kid "just got so angry." this woman had flown off the handle at me.

my dad - traditional catholic that he is - resents my sentiment of "gentle parenting". he says they'll grow up spoiled, horrible, pretentious. granola, he spits.

i am going to be kind to them. i am going to set the example, i think. and whatever they choose become in the meantime - i'm going to love them for it.

Im actually... kinda... a scar lover so i made half of his face scarred in his off-glamourized self 🤩 he's getting the Zuko treatment.

Also i used the 2009 monkey king design for the ears and fur! Difference being the ears glow a little from the ear canal, also i used the japanese macaque as a ref for his fur (bit darker on the roots, lighter end) i have a strong belief LMK is based off of that.

Glamourized Macaque only uses it for both cosmetic and stealthy reason! He knows everyone would notice him easily if he didn't hide his scar, which is why he only covered half of it! A good reason why has black fur is so he can blend in the shadows more, along with covering his ears canals so it wouldn't glow! He doesn't have much power but his knowledge in such spell is higher than most.

Ofc he wouldn't be the infamous six eared macaque if he didn't try to imitate Wukong in a way....
