Bringing in the new year with an old boy!

I really don't draw Tobes/Phaze enough. He's my oldest oc and has been in a weird limbo state for a while, so it's nice to be thinking about him again.

Favorite foods

Some of the character's favourite foods

Sapnaps favourite is dragon fruit because when he lived on the texas coast his colony would harvest 2 dragonfruit from an overhanging cactus and eat them as a community in the middle of the colony.

George's favourite I think would be cod because it's abundant and has plenty of meat for long swims.

I think larray would like smaller, faster fish bc he liked the chase - maybe sardines.

Dream actually really likes mussels rather than fish or snails.

Sam's favourite are scallops, though he only managed to try them after he'd been rescued, warm fish chum isn't anyone's favourite.

Bbh loves snow crab even if it's a bit pricey to constantly order to the sanctuary.

We can't forget the handlers - Jordan's a foodie and loves all types of cuisine but has a soft spot for her mother's chicken pot pie.

Techno loves baked potatoes because he can put basically anything on them and it'll taste good - his main topping is katsu curry he makes himself.

Skeppy loves pizza from this one spot close to the sanctuary, he goes there for lunch most days.

George Preening

We were talking about Mer preening each other. Using pumice and volcanic stones to get rid of dead skin and depending on the species of the mer, and it's environment, it can be mangrove, pests, shedding or just grooming his kin.

So i thought of a little headcanon for George, and here it is. Enjoy your soup!

George's First Preen In Sanctuary

He tried to reach his back but only reached so far to his sides. At first, he didn't care. Sure, it itches a bit, but it's not the end of the world compared to the pain he used to endure here. But he got frustrated as it eventually kept him awake at night, and scratching his back on the rocks didn't do anything anymore. So... he finally decided to ask someone.

He frowned looking at the other mers in the tank. Larry thought he was constipated, which only deepened George's scowl. He looks away, definitely banning Larry forever on his list. His eyes lay on Sam. He nibbled his lips, hesitating but eventually found a time to talk to him. After multiple tries and Sam's patient hums, he finally asks him, wincing at his own nervousness.

And obviously, Sam agrees, being gentle and reassuring, making George want to go back to scrubbing his back on rocks. But Sam knows that a long time must've passed before George deigned come to him. He won't let that poor fella go without a good preen. His back must definitely need it.

George braced himself as they went to one of his quiet spots. He thought it would be horrible, that he would find himself on that sickening boat as something tore his dorsal with a sharp knife.

It wasn't like that at all, Sam was nice, always asking and talking him through, that he almost forgot his precious back was being touched. The only thing he felt was relief and a softening warm feeling he wasn't yet ready to let himself bath in it, yet.

Before he knew it Sam's skillful hands, despite his blindness, perfectly preened his back. He almost felt like cooing, feeling much better, that the itching was gone. He thanked Sam, and like always, Sam proposed to do it again with all the gentleness in the world. George awkwardly hushed his shoulders and said, "Sure... why not?"

Since that day, Sam regularly helps George preen.
