s1 is kinda blurry so i cant tell a fav episode but ig first episode "in throes of increasing wonder 01x01" i love courtship eras of iwtv sm..both loustat and loumand , and cant wait for the same of nickstat, loustat 2.0 , devil's minion and whoever comes..

unholy family moments are very dear for me...especially the scene where they all dance together and also lestat's murder ( gotta love a family's duality)

Just you & me. Me & you.” is probably the greatest line ever wrote in television.. but "she could dream" was where i cried tho that scene was jacob's one of the top moments in the series. and but it also hv the most annoying can u two get a room bickering we get frm devil's minion "disregard"

okay phew. my thoughts on watson episode 1. might put a readmore coz it'll probably get long. anyway um

so 💥 IN MY OPINION 💥 it was not good but it wasn't bad either it's the exact perfect mid i usually get with american episodic tv especially one trying to adapt something from england. not even a complaint btw i would've been shocked if it was good. i do think they needed a much stronger pilot but it was like... fine? like i had a good time with it overall and then sometimes i went HRHRGH WHAT. but anyway let's go category by category otherwise this'll be even more incoherent than it already is. so yeah cut incoming this is gonna be long as hell i was right

1) characters

watson: i elaborated on this topic in an earlier post but to sum it up, i think watson's personhood, by nature of being the pov character in the novels, revolves so strongly around holmes that it's an incredibly difficult task to define who he is without holmes, and especially to portray it. so far nothing this watson has said or done made me go "he wouldn't fucking say that" but at the same time nothing's made me go "he WOULD fucking say that" either. no actually him immediately jumping into a waterfall without any hesitation coz he saw holmes go in was extremely in character he would fucking do that. but like that just comes back to the whole issue of like, that's in character for him bc it's about holmes. but the rest? like who even is he? esp here where he can't even be defined by his position in his society or his era or his city because he's in modern day americatown instead of victorian england. so like overall i like the guy but as soon as the scene isn't about holmes he stops being watson and just becomes generic medical show leading man. i'm very curious to see if they can manage to make me feel like i really am watching dr john watson instead of just a random guy. but again outside of not really being watson i like him he seems fun

adam and stephens: i don't know why the showrunners would fuck themselves like this like why are you making your job so much harder by having 1 guy play 2 guys. edit ok apparently it's literally coz the showrunner wanted something challenging. well i hate it. also i don't think the twin thing works on any front it just makes me very uncomfortable to watch a guy trying his absolute hardest to pretend to be two separate people. it sucks. hopefully their plots will be interesting at least. calling it now there's gonna be a plot where they switch places

mary: mary-s (maries?) tend to be very strangely written bc every time they're included the writer wants to do a subversion of the generic irrelevant wife from the victorian era stories so she's usually a plot relevant badass which like. i don't think that's necessary. like you don't have to be doing all that. like i don't mind i'm usually neutral abt any given mary i just think it's annoying that they all default to that instead of doing literally anything interesting. so it's a relief that i actually like this mary coz even though she's still the usual plot relevant badass, it's not accompanied by her being watson's epic cool girlfriend she gets to be her own person. like as far as i can tell they're not gonna get back together #i ❤️ divorce. she's even bisexual!! sweep

shinwell: whyyyyy does he talk like that omg. please. also guy from the east end is a criminal duuuuude thats crazy however do they come up with these. sucks so bad. i'm gonna like him out of spite but he's such a bad character what are we doing

moriarty: what can i fucking say man. why is he here. also the acting was so bad??? like wh??? ???? why was it this bad. i guess you could blame the script but like, second takes exist yknow. you can do another one if the first take sucks. are you aware. anyway i hate it when moriarty is a big bad but we'll get into that in a later section... can't say much abt his character he was only in 1 scene. usually i'm a huge fan of colourblind casting but i don't get making him a poc if you're gonna make him the horrible evil mastermind but hey at least he's not a black woman killing orphans for money like in enola. still don't know why they did that. getting off topic anyway why did he also get hit with the yankify beam. does anyone remember england. sherlock holmes was there

2) the plot

the episode's plot: it was... fine? like it was stupid as hell but it's a medical drama so whatever. patient needs mouse bites to live. this vexes me. etc. i do think the whole today☝️ we're 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 NOT ❌ doctors ⚕️ we're 😎 detectives 🕵️ was kinda cringe but it's like the entire premise of the show so it's very much a megszoksz vagy megszöksz situation. how do you say that in english. my way or the highway. take it or leave it. you get what i mean

the overarching plot: i mean obviously this was one episode so i can't reflect on the entire thing but i CAN look at the setups and think about them. it's nice that a major part of this show seems to be watson coping with the absence of holmes. i think they should focus on it slightly more, like acd watson's life was essentially over and pointless post reichenbach and i don't think they fully emphasise the severity of that but we only have one episode so we'll see. i am very very annoyed that moriarty is a presence at all in this show and especially that they didn't even have enough faith either in the audience or their own material to wait a bit before revealing him. episode one bam he's there and he's immediately named. it sucks. we do not need him. hold my hand. look me in the eye. it's ok to write a holmes adaptation where moriarty doesn't keep coming back from the dead. it's ok to have a different villain. or just regular ass criminals that aren't masterminds. it's fine. it's ok. you can just have moran if you're desperate. in fact you SHOULD have moran we're literally post final problem pre empty house this is moran's main time in the spotlight. but whatever what's done is done. i just think what's done is dumb as hell

3) the technical stuff that reviewers love talking about to make themselves sound smarter

the dialogue: chief. it's not good. like it's not outstandingly bad but there were some lines that made me go 😬 and some of them are just. so bad. eugh. like i alluded to in ingrid's section, if a script feels like it could smoothly fit an mcu style quip without it feeling out of place, maybe reconsider the lines you're writing.

the lighting/colours: i actually really like this, i think it gives the show a very distinctive look. i do think it's weird how ambient all the lighting is in this hospital but it's a lot nicer than the horrible white and blue you'd normally get, plus as a serial surgery haver i would much prefer to have this to the inhumane buzzing leds. not to mention i'm eastern european so compared to our hospitals, this place is like a spaceship.

cinnamon topography: i just watched brilliant minds last week which had some of the most beautiful shots i have ever seen and easily the most beautiful shots i've ever seen in an episodic medical drama which is unfortunate for this show because it's also very competent in this field but my standards are all the way up. but yea overall the shots range from generic-good to pretty good so no complaints there. i really liked the shot of watson and mary talking with the garage pillar separating them, and the overhead shot of a board that says WE LIE in big red letters made me laugh really hard

4) miscellaneous

my cat just crawled into my lap while i was trying to spell meschallenios everyone shut up. ok she was there for an hour and then left so back to it

acd story references: i always think these are fun and very satisfying to clock, and by god there were a lot of them in just this one ep. my episode was like 240p so i couldn't really observe the background details (to be remedied once i get my paws on 1080p) but even then there was a ton of stuff to go duuude 🫵 at. the 1881 robot (year study in scarlet is set in) which was then immediately revealed to be called clyde (elementary turtle) was really funny like why are we referencemaxxing. like i mentioned in the john watson post, i hope they won't overly rely on them, but it was fun to pay a little extra attention to everything to see if there was a reference hidden anywhere

5) overall

my general faith in this is. very little. a lot of people have a lot of goodwill for this show, both because of elementary (which i haven't seen sorry) and because of morris chestnut (who i didn't know before this but i'm very much the kinda person who prefers to not even know the names of actors) but neither of those have any impact on my opinion or my trust in the show, nor do i think it should. even if elementary was my favourite show, i'd still expect watson to win me over just by itself. i'm also very worried about some comments the showrunner made, especially the one abt adler being holmes's lover (what?? 💀) none of which inspire confidence but again that's not part of the show either and if the show itself is good, i don't care what the showrunner thinks.

but is the show itself good? i mean, it's not bad and i never expected it to be good. i'm a huge fan of holmes adaptations and have seen way too many of them (pretty much every single one that's not unwatchably bad, and then some) so i'm always hyped when there's a new one. i don't hate this by any means, i'm glad it exists and it was a fun way to spend 2 hours watching something that's 40 minutes long and then an entire day writing a review of it.

like i said at the beginning of this unnecessarily long post, it's perfectly mid with some tentative swings in both positive and negative directions which is probably why i was able to write this much about it. if it was good i would've just said IT SLAPS YAYY YIPPIE and if it was bad i would've said "holy shit this is the worst thing i have ever seen" and that would've been it but instead here we are. hope you're glad you spent the past 7 hours reading this instead of war and peace. thank you for coming and hopefully my review of episode 2 will be a more managable size coz lowkey what the hell am i doing lol. goodbye

Another big fandom thing that isnt really everybody cup of tea is something called the Manwore AU started by Anniflamma a big animator/artist within EPIC were basically Ody sleeps with everyone as a way to make it through his journey. I will mention that Ody does NOT cheat on Penelope in either EPIC or the original sources.

Polites Eury and Ody are childhood friends

people will often mention pancakes and Polites together that is from the Cyclops saga.

One of the problems in the fandom is a lot of people bashing Eury for his actions i personally dont like bashing characters since i believe every character made mistakes and messed up so no one character deserves to be blamed but you can form your own opinions on this.

Fans of EPIC are called winions which is short for wind minions shown in the Ocean Saga and is often related to the Lotus eater creatures

Referencing this post I made about Tang accidentally drinking from the Mother-Child River while the gang are travelling in S3.

Scorpion Queen pretty much forces herself into the gang because she's the only one around who *knows* how the Mother-Child River works. And she's not gonna let her new friends get hurt with all this bone demon business!

Pigsy, unsure: "Hey, Scorpion? I have something I really need to ask about the River." Scorpion Queen: "Sure thing! Ask me anything!" Pigsy, hesistating: "Will... will the baby look just like Tang? Everyone needs to go see You’re Next asap because it was incredible and I was grinning like a stupid little idiot the whole time. I immediately need to go watch it in Japanese with subtitles.

Anyways, here are some of my thoughts! My memory is terrible though so they’ll probably be a little out of order and I’ll probably miss a bit. That’s fine though, it’s not plot analysis.

They did my boy Kaminari SO dirty throughout this whole movie but I was especially disappointed at this part. Mineta I understand, even after they toned him down in the 6th season, he’s still a pervert. But Kaminari is so much deeper than that and has had so much character development, and they decided the perfect happy little daydream for him would be women in bikinis? No way. What little we did see of him in the movie was so shallow.

The other daydreams though? Hoo boy😮‍💨

Todoroki’s perfect daydream is him with his family, being happy. Him, scarless, playing with all of his siblings INCLUDING TOUYA while his happy parents sit together and watch them with a smile. I swear if that little scene was on screen any longer I might have teared up.

Shouji’s too, like oh my god. His is a world where he was accepted for who he is and he and the little girl are happy and he doesn’t feel like he has to hide his face behind a mask because he never got the scars in the first place😢

Idia’s being him and Tenya being heroes together. Because that was his dream. And he can’t have it anymore.

Deku’s being him with all of the All Might merch and a hero who believed in his dreams from the start🥲 and then OFA User 1 snapping him out of it? Vestiges for the win, again

Speaking of, I love how much they had him using all of the vestiges’ quirks throughout the movie. My boy has grown so much🥰

That whole scene though was really cool, the way it was set up like a doll house? I enjoyed that, I wish we had gotten to look at it a little longer. Looks like Hagakure’s was being visible and having all of the outfits, Uraraka’s was floating on a cloud, Jirou’s was rocking out with her guitar, and Sero’s was doing some kind of Spider-Man tape shit idk. Wish I remembered what Ojiro’s was

ah jeez thats long. moving on. since I don't ever plan to continue writing anything for it ( at least not in the foreseeable future ), I have a Notion page for my high-fantasy stuff, which looks like this ->

i've been sitting on this world for like five years now? At least, I think i started it in 2019, and it's gotten a lot more sophisticated since then ( like the languages and everything and the MAP . . . phew ). But those are the characters ( at least, some of them. the ones in the main cast bar are, well, the main cast. The ones in the ToT bar are less important but still lore-relevant ).

I also have some post-apocalyptic sci-fi stuff going on ( phew this is a lot, now that I'm looking at it ), that is more world-building and blueprints than characters at the moment ( though I do have them fleshed out--just not drawn anywhere ). I've always been really into post-apocalyptic stories, especially those with an environmentalist touch. Nausicaa is and will forever be my favorite Ghibli film. But here's some worldbuilding blueprints stuff I did for that one. These are from 2021 . . . and in desperate need of refinements clearly.

"My mother once told me that a massacre was held in this village. She said it was done by a girl-" "A girl?" "Don't cut. She was a girl who turned into an evil being. She massacred her own clan."

"Why would she kill her own family? She's insane!" "My mother told me that it has something to do with The Goddess of Death." "Ah- Goddess of Death? Makes sense, I guess."

We saw a lot of bones of dead people, and you know what did Natsumi do? Yeah, she tried to walk into the village. I grabbed her wrist, preventing her from going further. "What are you thinking?! We can't go there. This village is filled by dead people bones. Do you want to sleep here or something?!"

"This place... feels familiar." "Huh?" "Very familiar. I feel like I've been here before." "Thats not possible, the massacre happened like 150 years ago. You might be-"

"Ah, are you two lost?" I was cut by someone's voice. We both froze and looked behind us slowly. We saw a woman, no, a girl. She looks like she's in her early 20s. I can't figure her appearance much because it's dark. But what I can see are her eyes, they are glowing red.

"This is an abandoned place, you shouldn't be here. What if a scary animal suddenly chase you? It's very dangerous." She is right, we shouldn't be here. But this wasn't our plan either. "I'm sorry, we just ran away from a family problem. My friend's sister tried to kill her."

I can't see her expression, but her voice says it all. She doesn't sound terrified. Instead, she sounds annoyed. "You think I care about that? You shouldn't be here. It's upleasant to see your face."

"W-what?" She points at Natsumi and a purple light suddenly appears from her hand. Oh no–

We both ran away from her into the forest again. We are running and running, as fast as we can. I can see the girl chasing us from behind. She's flying?! Is she a ghost or-

"AAAAAAA——"

"NATSUMI!"

I tried to push her away, but it was too late, Natsumi got attacked by the girl. She fell into the ground. Before I could reach her, I saw something– Ah– the light—

I dodged the purple light and fell onto the ground as a result. "Natsumi..." I tried to reach Natsumi's hand. When I managed to, she gripped my hand tightly. I'm glad she's stil conscious.

"Can you stand up? Hey–" She didn't answer, but she managed to stand up. We both can't see the girl anywhere. It seems that she's gone now. "Ugh... it hurts... my chest–" Natsumi is clutching her chest tightly, what should I do?? She looks like she's in a big pain.

"Natsumi?! Natsu-" She fell to the ground again. "Hey, hey?! Natsumi!!" I slapped her face to see if she's conscious. She's not responding, I'm starting to panic.

"Help... t-the pain is so-" She's still alive, thank God. I helped her to stand up and grab my shoulder. That should help her to keep standing.

We continued to walk, I can only hear the sounds of night animals and Natsumi's pained whimpers. Now I'm questioning myself, why did I bother helping her in the first place? Was I always like this?

Ah... it's because she's my first friend. The first person other than my family who cares of me.

heres the mohawk guy! hes so round... the description of how to make the gifs is long so ill put it under a cut :)

ok first, @soaricarus is the one who taught me how to make them so all credit goes to it! it's great :D

first, download screentogif if you dont already have it! thats how you make the actual gifs! also, while saving, put the sampling slider to 1/best

second, the mods u need!

so if u wanna spawn a specific scavenger you probably need devconsole, and to spawn a specific scav with that enter "spawn Scavenger ID.-1.(scav id here)". next, beastmaster and mouse drag are also really useful but not technically needed? also testing arenas is really useful! greyscreen is needed if u want it to be transparent, parasitic slugcat so it focuses on the scav, and finally eyebrow raise mod! i know it sounds silly i thought it was silly at first too!

ok now to set up the mods! i forget if i needed specific setup for the other mods but i know what i did on eyebrow raise! so first i removed all the sound effects because i really didnt need them and enabled the experimental zoom. when you click on the last panel you can mess with how much it zooms in, i have mine set at 15 and the duration at 10 seconds!

ok so now open up the arena as parasitic slugcat and spawn your scag! sadly to make the gifs you have to kill them , i usually do it by right clicking on them with the mouse drag mod then i go into their little area and you take over them by clicking the eat thing near them. now spawn another scug using beastmaster or devconsole. ("spawn SlugNPC") and click your activate button for the eyebrow raise to test your zoom! you can fiddle with it more to see with you like it. now if you want the transparent bg click the button you used to activate greyscreen and open up your screentogif! make sure your zoomed in scag is centered in the middle, and also make sure not to get your mouse in the frame! you can see it in the finished gif. then after you film it you can save it! if you want a transparent background, while saving click "enable transparency", then "select which color to display as transparent", and then click the greyscreen color! ok phew that was long but i hope it was helpful! if you have any more questions feel free to ask :)

reading / watching this series while grieving made it hit so much harder than i think it would’ve otherwise for me….it meant so much that after every death a past loved one greeted them to bring them to the other side, no matter how many times it happened i just wanted to bawl my eyes out (ㅠ﹏ㅠ) its def something im going to be thinking ab for a long time and going back to over and over again

Hiii! Hope everything's good with you. Could you write some cute Daniel looking after little max and little Yuki? Its something thats been on my mind since the desert hovercraft and honda thanks day. (❄️December sad girl hours is real and something cute would really help👉👈)

“Danny, look.” Yuki says, and Daniel barely has any time to react before the piece of paper in shoved in his face.

“Woah, buddy!” Daniel says, putting a hand on Yuki’s wrist and gently lowering it so he can actually look. He’s not sure what it is supposed to be, but eh, art is in the eye of the beholder and all that. “Well done!” He praises.

Yuki sways back and forth on his feet, eyes twinkling with the smile on his face. He looks smaller, still, with his hair still tussled from his earlier nap and the innocent flush on his cheeks. “More?” He asks.

“More paper?” Daniel questions, already reaching over to grab more supplies for the youngster, glad he’s got him settled on an activity that won’t wake Max up quite yet.

Yuki had awoken after only an hour, which is fine, but Daniel had been slightly worried the ruckus would’ve woken Max up too, who usually needed a little bit more on days like these. But Yuki’d been an angel, a whispered hiss of “Danny!” alerting him that he’d woken up from his nap and he hadn’t even protested when Daniel redirected his suggestion of playing race cars to doing some coloring.

Max wakes up during Yuki’s third picture, stumbling into the living room and going straight for Daniel, who’s already expecting him with open arms. “Good morning sunshine.” Daniel breathes into Max’s messy hair, pressing a soft kiss to his head while Max tries to bury himself into Daniel.

Max feels warm and soft with sleep, wriggling and then settling into Daniel’s chest when he’s seemingly found a comfortable position, his thumb fitting back into his mouth.

Yuki’s stopped his drawing to take the scene in. “Max hug?” He asks, looking up at Daniel.

“Max needs a bit of time to wake up, buddy.” Daniel says softly, hand rubbing down Max’s back. “You can come give him a hug in a little bit, okay?”

Max barely registers he’s being discussed, eyes still closed and breathing slow while he snuggles into Daniel. Eventually he stirs, eyes blinking open to take in his surroundings and thumb dropping from his mouth, hand moving to rub the sleep out of his eyes.

“Had a good nap?” Daniel asks, brushing the hair off of Max’s forehead and Max nods into a yawn.

“Yuki,” he says, sitting up to blink at his friend. “Yuki draw?”

Daniel is about to answer, but Yuki scuffles closer, holding up another piece of paper. “Yeah!” Yuki says, “You were sleeping so I draw, for you.”

There’s a soft smile that appears on Max’s sleepy face when he takes in the drawing, eyes flicking from the piece of paper to Yuki to Daniel.

“Daddy?”

“Maxie?” Daniel sing songs.

“For me!”

“That’s nice, huh? Maybe Yuki can get a hug for giving you a gift?”

Max nods, and Daniel expects him to slide off his lap but he pulls Yuki on top of both of them instead, which leaves Daniel crushed under the two of them. “Woah!”

Max and Yuki are both giggly messes, definitely unaware of how they’re cutting off Daniel’s air supply and so Daniel musters the strength to overturn them both, dropping them onto the couch while slipping out himself. “Phew!” He huffs. “I’m getting old, you know? Gotta be gentle with me!”

“So old,” Max confirms with a smirk. “He’s dyeing his beard.”

Daniel gawks. “Oh you’re getting it.”
