The time I gained my confidence...
Tumblr media
When I was a kid, I am not the type of student who always raise her hand during recitations in school because I am too shy to be the center of attention. Although I am sure with the answer, it take some time for me to have the confidence to speak out.
Since I like studying especially back then, my parents are always proud to attend the recognition day at school, walking to the stage with me to receive my awards. I may not be actively participating to the activities related to public speaking but my fruit of labor is still being seen with the results of my grades.
I could say that I am not the super nerdy and intelligent type of person, but what I can be proud of is that if I set some goals in my mind, I usually allocate ample times to study or prepare for it. It was the consistency and effort that I usually do whenever I want to achieve the goals I set in mind. I believe that being consistent can help you in anything that you seek to achieve. I also believe that being intelligent is another story. I still remember how those intelligent classmates I had during primary and secondary schools can simply analyze and answer the questions fast and correct after just looking at it for a few minutes, and with that...that is how I define smart people.
Before, I usually categorized myself as an introvert one. I better do everything on my own than being helped by someone, or than be an extra baggage to my group, or be a center of attention and be tagged as fatuous. I used to plan almost everything on my own... I better figure it out myself than asking someone to help me, even if it might cost most of my time to fulfil it... that I am self-reliant.
It all changed when I moved to another country.
Working in IT is not a typical field for women. Unlike in the Philippines, I still had few women colleagues in the team. In Europe, it is not the case, when I got the chance to enter corporate world again, I am always the only woman in my team. It was really difficult. There were even times when I need to push myself to get up from bed and go to work. My team during that time were dominated by men, I feel insecure…I was timorous. I even sometimes cried while walking going to the office, asking why am I actually doing this to myself...ugh! tough times.
But then, after some months, I observed that if I stay this way, I will be left behind...that I should be a team player...I started to forge my mind to trust myself. I tried to be optimistic...I keep telling myself that I won't be here if the company didn't see my potential to be amalgamated to my team.
Slowly, I refined my confidence. I learn how to lower my guard and start to trust the process.
Now, I am already six years here, still working in IT. It is also my second company and only woman in my team, again. Looking back from where I started, I could say that I improved a lot. I am now participating in projects, voice out and ask questions if I want to know more. Collaborating with my team mates and try to socialize if I have a chance to do it. I am thankful that moving to another country made me discover that I can be more than I thought I was, that I can also do what others can...that confidence is actually already within me and I just need to snap it out...
just like in the saying..."It took some fast rhythms to make the dancers come alive."

In the early 1900s, almost 1,000 Filipinos – mostly single men – came to work in Alaska’s commercial fishing industry, a sector that remains the state’s largest private-sector employer. They toiled in fish canneries, where they were often the lowest-paid workers and endured impoverished conditions.
In her 1996 book Filipinos in Alaska, Thelma Buchholdt describes how white workers were housed in heated compounds, while Filipino workers often had to put up with living in cramped, unheated spaces without showers or proper hygiene facilities, and were fed meagre meals of fish and rice.
These Filipino communities became known as “Alaskeros” – a term still used today.
Gabriel Garcia, a Filipino-American associate professor of public health at the University of Alaska Anchorage, explains that these men came to Alaska seeking the opportunity for a better life. “Other Filipinos came to Alaska as seasonal workers from California, Washington, and Hawaii,” he says.
They were US nationals, as the Philippines was an American territory at the time, but they still faced discrimination. Filipinos were not allowed to interact with whites – especially white women.
Native Americans faced similar racism and, as a result, Filipinos and indigenous Alaskans were segregated together.
“They worked together to fight against discrimination,” says E.J.R. David, a Filipino-American professor of psychology and history expert at the University of Alaska Anchorage. “Over time, many Alaskeros and Alaska Natives had children together. They combined Alaska Native and Filipino cultures in raising their families, such as making beaver adobo and salmon lumpia.”
Nez Danguilan, a local Filipino community leader and former television host, says many Alaskans do not even realise they are of partial Filipino heritage until they interact with more recent arrivals from the Philippines.
“I have talked to some of my Alaskan colleagues about food of the Philippines and they say, ‘Wait, my grandpa cooked that’,” Danguilan says.
“Many people also don’t realise that a lot of the Asian food they eat was introduced to Alaska by settler Filipino husbands. That’s why restaurants like Jeepney are so popular … For instance pancit [noodles] or Filipino chow mein – they had been cooking it and didn’t realise its Filipino influence.”

There are many places in the Philippines where sightings of local cryptids are often talked about, the City of Muntinlupa is no stranger to it. Here are artworks of known cryptids in Muntinlupa with a millennial twist, as seen in Museo ng Muntinlupa page.
Tumblr media
The Tikbalang - is probably one of the most popular mythological creatures in the Philippines. According to stories, these beings have half-human, half-horse bodies. It has two versions: one with a horse's head and the other with a human-like face. Based on folklore, whoever rides on the back of the tikbalang and manages to pull out its golden hair from its nape will be able to tame it and serve as its master. Despite their powerful and fearsome appearance, tikbalangs do not harm or kill people. They simply enjoy leading or playing with people in the forest.
Tumblr media
The "Nuno sa Punso" - are said to be old men with long beards. Their height is likened to that of a three-year-old child. According to other stories, the "nuno" are depicted wearing wide-brimmed hats called "salakot." The "nuno sa punso" are known for inflicting illness upon those who disturb their dwellings. Typically, this results in high fever, severe body pains, and swelling of private body parts.
Tumblr media
The Sirena - In legends and on television, mermaids are commonly depicted as beings with beautiful and gentle faces, long hair, glistening skin, and a melodious voice. They are considered guardians of the seas, and whoever disturbs their domain will be punished and dragged into the depths of the ocean. Their enchanting voices attract men, and this is what they use to lure those they fancy into their world. In The City of Muntinlupa, there are often folk stories about mermaids being sighted in Jamboree Lake.
Tumblr media
The "Tiktik" - belongs to the family of "manananggal." They are commonly depicted as creatures resembling birds that only fly at night to seek food. It's also believed that their color is as black as crows. They are known to favor consuming babies from pregnant women's wombs. The "tiktik" got its name from the sound it makes. When you hear its loud screech, you can be sure that the "tiktik" is still far away. But as the sound gets softer and softer, the "tiktik" is getting closer to you!
Tumblr media
The "Kapre" - typically resides in trees and forests. It's said that they often play tricks on people who find themselves near their dwellings by suddenly misleading them in the woods and mountains. Kapres are described as large, man-like beings covered in dark hair. Some say they are only clad in loincloths, while others claim they are naked and that only leaves cover their private parts. They are often depicted carrying tobacco, the scent of which tends to attract people's attention. When a Kapre is attracted to a woman, he befriends her and follows her for life.

I recently watched a TV news on TikTok about Divorce bill. The house of the committee has approved a divorce proposal that will provide additional options for married couples seeking legal ways of separation in the Philippines. In addition to this, apart from the shorter and cheaper process, it is expected that it will also help those who have experience abuse and abandonment. The divorce proposals have gone through the House Committee on Population and Family Relations, but their passage in the current nineteenth congress is still uncertain. Additionally, it mentions that in the previous thirteenth congress, the proposals were submitted multiple times without making any progress.
"til death do us apart is wonderful. Marriage is beautiful but only for those who get it right" said by Representative Pantaleon Alvarez. One of a woman's dreams is to marry the right man and build her own family with the person she loves. However, many marriages do not end up in a happy relationship due to the prevalence of abuse, especially among women. Many men continue to cheat, even though they are already married, which leads to separation. The debate surrounding divorce in the Philippines is like a tug-of-war, with opposing sides pulling at the threads of tradition and modernity. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, divorce emerged as a beacon of hope, breathing new life into the realm of marital freedom and self-empowerment in the Philippines.

Babae Ka, Hindi Babae Lang: A Glimpse Through Women Empowerment
Tumblr media
Throughout the pages of history, the concept of gender has consistently emerged as a subject of profound societal preoccupation, warranting careful examination in the pursuit of national progress. Furthermore, this study illuminates the manner in which cultural norms and social stratification exert influence over the representation and access to various opportunities for distinct cohorts of males and females (Nirola, 2018). Undoubtedly, historical evidence substantiates the notion that women consistently exhibit resilience and resourcefulness in times of adversity. Moreover, it reveals that women have significantly contributed to the advancement of human society to a greater extent than their male counterparts.
Nevertheless, the enduring presence of patriarchy within society has been observed since antiquity, exerting a detrimental influence on the recognition and appreciation of women's contributions towards enhancing the well-being of individuals within patriarchal societies such as the Philippines. Undoubtedly, women are consistently subjected to numerous sorts of oppression. Yet, there is currently a notable trend towards the advancement of women's empowerment within the present era. While women have consistently exhibited strength, their resilience has further intensified, leading them to actively advocate for one another without hesitation (International Women’s Day 2022: “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” 2021).
“Abante Babae! Palaban militante!”
“The  future is female.”
“The last man standing is a woman!”
The aforementioned terms are not unfamiliar to the Filipino population, as they have been previously encountered. Moreover, these gestures serve as deliberate actions aimed at enhancing the visibility of feminism throughout the nation. This strategic approach seeks to magnify the voices of women, thereby facilitating their advancement in society. Moreover, notwithstanding the increasing sense of empowerment experienced by women in contemporary society, the aforementioned words serve as a poignant reminder of the arduous nature of the ongoing struggle for gender equality that women face across all domains (University of Birmingham, 2015). In order to gain recognition, individuals must vocalize their concerns, engage in public displays of advocacy, and actively strive to assert their entitlements. Regrettably, they are also subject to persistent assault and abuse. Consider, for example, the phenomenon of prostitution, which is undeniably a manifestation of gender-based violence and a type of violence directed towards women. Prostitution, as opposed to other manifestations of gender-based violence, exhibits a distinctive characteristic whereby monetary transactions are involved in the perpetration of abuse. Nevertheless, it is important to note that the exchange of money does not entirely eradicate individuals' awareness of the dynamics surrounding sexual harassment, sexual abuse, and domestic violence (Farley, 2020). The likelihood of women engaging in prostitution is higher, and they are more prone to becoming victims of their own circumstances. This can be attributed to the fact that prostitution represents a visible expression of behavior that deviates from traditional gender norms. Consequently, individuals involved in prostitution face social exclusion, which results in the denial of esteemed status and associated benefits linked to societal norms. Therefore, it was imperative to put an end to the many forms of exploitation faced by women. It was crucial to empower women, enabling them to exercise autonomy in decision-making processes and ensuring they were not subjected to any form of manipulation.
Moreover, women encounter obstacles in numerous professions that are predominantly dominated by men, such as politics, academia, athletics, various legislative arenas, and diverse professional domains. In addition, women exhibit higher poverty rates compared to men on a global scale. Examining the distinct experiences of men and women in relation to poverty, as well as the substantial obstacles they encounter in accessing resources, economic prospects, and the benefits of representative democracy, enables policymakers to enhance the efficacy of poverty alleviation measures (Malhotra, 2009). The challenges encountered by the individuals in question are undeniably attributable to the presence of sexism and the perpetuation of gender stereotypes. Nevertheless, it is imperative for the global community to fulfill its commitments to feminism by actively promoting the empowerment of women and addressing their legitimate concerns pertaining to the attainment of equal rights. It is crucial to note that this call to action should not be misconstrued as a gender-based struggle between men and women, but rather as a collective effort to combat and eradicate discrimination. Feminism unequivocally constitutes a struggle against sexism rather than a struggle against men.
The phenomenon of sexism towards guys does indeed exist; nonetheless, it is important to acknowledge that men generally possess higher social standing and wield greater power than women in numerous nations. Consequently, any harm experienced by men is mostly an inadvertent outcome of gender discrimination predominantly targeting women. To ensure the ongoing development, empowerment, and leadership of women within their own cultures, it is imperative to currently prioritize and direct attention towards them. This implies that they must possess a concrete existence in the now, while also being unequivocally associated with the future. In order to progress, it is imperative for society to empower women to exercise autonomy over their lives, including the ability to make choices regarding their own bodies. The autonomy of individuals necessitates their unrestricted agency in decision-making, hence entitling them to exercise their freedom without external imposition. It is important to acknowledge that they are women, not just mere women

Men travelling to SEA is heavily associated with sex tourism too. I've heard stories about men going there just to fuck minors (barf)
i think it's a bit of a different issue, sex tourism (loaded ghouls passing borders in order to pay for the right to rape impoverished women and girls, sometimes boys) is definitely a thing that has gained immense popularity in the last few decades, and sea countries are star destinations for that, but it was more about the imperialist mindset of making enough money in your own home country to retire and live like a king in one of the countries whose economies your own people destroyed.
it's disgusting though, in the last decade wife shopping has also been on the rise. americans or western europeans travelling to southeast asia/eastern europe for a "submissive asian/slavic wife", meeting women there, promising them visas in their own rich countries, marrying them and taking them home and deeming themselves their lords and masters. the woman typically doesn't speak the language and has no kin or friends in the new country, so her husband can do to her whatever he wants. it's sickening really and i wish these men, and the rest of the sex tourists, were asked for their purposes when entering the country and shot on sight.
to be honest i think the retirement thing is something rather unique to the japanese. i'm not saying it def does not happen ever, but i find it hard to imagine a wealthy muscovite choosing to pass their last years in mine or any other post-soviet country that is still suffering the consequences of the russian conquest. bri'ish "people" living as expats in india is definitely a thing, but i feel like it's young ones "on spiritual journeys" who go back to their holes after a few years anyway, not a mildly successful ex businessman pension aged fart's first choice retirement plan. frenchoids don't go to algeria, spaniards don't go to el salvador. oh but i did hear about americans retiring in latam countries. as mentioned though for the japanese it happens, i mean it's definitely not all over the place nor THAT often, but it's anecdotal enough for even me to know a real life example. maybe because sea countries are overall popular tourist destinations? the philippines, thailand, vietnam, indonesia are known for their beaches and resorts and laid back lifestyles. old bones seek warmth and relaxation. maybe the tropical climate is also what lures americans into puerto rico... after all "moving close to the sea" IS a retirement fantasy for many people all over the world and has been for hundreds of years. but again this is all but speculative, maybe i'm wrong and it does happen often with other colonizers too idk.

This Place I Have Known, So My Family Has Grown
I must now go from here
Having spent long days and short
Having seen what I needed,
Doing that which led me.
For now I know the ways, learned days
Seen, felt, heard, met, spoke
Between all that can be such
Like you! Brothers and sisters-
You I know from then so to evermore.
My siblings, my family of those lands-
Men and women of the Philippines,
Of Africa, of Thailand, of India;
And you of Russia, Europe, Lebanon,
Hailing from Portugal, from China and Japan,
And yes, you from my Homeland;
Gathering from different regions,
Children of Canada.
Seekers, refugees, voyagers-
All of you are now from me and I from you.
I am here for you, and always.
I have viewed wickedness,
Spoken with power,
Met courage, built confidence
Much as built strength.
Submitting myself to another’s whim,
And they to mine, in kind.
Being kicked, beaten, spat upon;
Being loved, nourished, accepted.
I, through wealth and poverty,
Myself giving change,
Myself eating the crust.
I have found, and content accompanied.
Therefore, I must go on,
Like the breeze which I am.
All of you, parts of me now-
Vital dust and particles.
Remembered forever in my eyes,
Like the rain that falls and seeps through skin.
So blessed am I, so humbled for it.
Keepers of house, maintainers, exchangers,
You are more than you know-
The light of the day in a land which bears you growth.
I bear growth for you.
I seek and give as I can.
You others with many titles, many duties-
Keep heads raised and understand you are the world.
See that the wind has passed over you knowing,
Learning and taking and giving in turn.
A functioning, living cell are we.
Oh, dreamers of many dreams,
Maganda, every one.
Thank you, for now I may go!
Light is in my heart and you are the kindle.

Gender Stereotyping: Breaking the Female Chains
Tumblr media
by Amanda Beatrice C. Deang
Women are supposed to stay at home, to cook and do housework, and to be responsible for raising children, but is the role that society has imposed on them the only purpose of their lives?
Gender stereotypes have long been the basis for how members of a certain gender should be: how they dress and present themselves, what their occupation should be, how they behave, and the like. Female gender stereotypes have established how and what a woman should be, even before she explores what she wants for her life. Stereotypes limit their opportunities and, in the worst cases, kill a woman’s self-confidence.
More than what they are
In the Philippines, it is a perceived societal standard that a woman’s ‘level of decency’ depends on how much fabric she wears, and her degree of capability depends on how great and diligent she is at housework.
Many advocates against female gender stereotyping have raised their voices regarding this societal error, but despite having proven that women can go beyond the boundaries of the norms and roles associated with them, a survey from Guerrero (2022) has proven that women's gender stereotypes, especially in cases of breadwinning and home-tending, are still upheld by many Filipinos.
Being a woman in the Philippines is equivalent to being subject to a pervasive system, and it is already expected that a woman seeking to apply for traditionally male roles such as jobs that require technical skills will be held to very high standards. And at times, when they do land the job, workplace discrimination on the basis of gender identity does tend to take place right after.
The gender stereotype also hinders a woman from developing her personal abilities and making decisions for herself, which leads to negative consequences as it ultimately affects their mental, physical, and emotional health and leaves them with zero self-confidence in regards to their personalities.
Exceeding the expectations
Are the roles that society has imposed on women the only purpose of their lives? Will women be able to break free from the chains of female gender stereotypes, or will such stereotypes continue to drag them down unwillingly? And as these harmful gender norms continue to persist and influence relationships, when will we really be able to say that society has already outdated and eliminated such stereotypes?
With all the stereotypes surrounding women, one notable fact that should be imprinted on society’s mind is that gender judgments are inaccurate, as these only stem from forms of bias that society has established for women over time.
Despite what society expects from a woman, there is no law or rule on how a woman should particularly be when it comes to her decisions or on how she wishes to project herself.
Men and women are equally capable of controlling what role they want to associate themselves with. Many may ask and doubt the possibility of such things, yet the latter is fully capable of much more than the roles that society forcibly associates to her.

Misconceptions About Mailorder Brides
The idea that most of these women are poor, poorly educated, or come from the bottom of the social heap in their own countries is also a misconception.
The truth is that, with a few exceptions, exactly the opposite is true. If you look at the biography of these women you will find that the overwhelming majority are college graduates. More than a few are professionals such as doctors, dentists and the like. If you think about it this makes a lot of sense. Most of the women seeking husbands in the international bride market have to do so using a language other than their own... English. For this reason alone, most of the poorly educated women in the world are unable to play the game. In fact, this is true for virtually all countries except one. That country is the Philippines.
The Philippines is the one country where even the very poor and often poorly educated woman can still participate in the bride-by-mail game. The reason is that English is a required subject in Philippine schools beginning at a very early age. In fact, all courses in Philippine schools from high school onward are taught in English. This gives Filipinos, even the very poor ones at the bottom of the social ladder, the ability to participate in the process necessary to pursue a husband via letter writing. This is not true of other countries.
Virtually all the women from other non-English speaking countries who become involved in seeking husbands by this method are well educated. The ones who lack sufficient English language ability are usually not successful in finding a husband if they try. Most don't ever try.
The reason why the women with the best educations are often the ones seeking foreign husbands is because these are the women who have the greatest difficulty finding husbands at home. In most of the countries where these women come from, men do not want wives who are either more obviously intelligent or better educated than they are. The better educated a women becomes, the less likely she is to find a husband at home.It is Also a Common Misconception That All These Foreign Brides are Asian
It has never been true that all the women who marry American men in this way are Asian. Even before the collapse of worldwide communism there were a significant number of them coming from Latin America. The reason for the misconception that they are all Asian is because, prior to the fall of the iron curtain, and the opening of east-west travel, the vast majority of these women came from the Philippines. In fact, if you look at all the available women who are Asian, even today half of them are Filipinos.
Today, however, the fastest growing segment of the bride-by-mail movement involves Caucasian women from Russia and other countries of Eastern Europe. There are many matchmaking companies whose sole business involves women from there and which do not handle Asian women at all.
This week's contribution is from Gary Clark, the author of, "Your Bride Is In The Mail."

World Cup Bound 2023
By: Melanie J. Real
Away from the spotlight, the Philippine women’s national softball team continues a tradition of dominance with an eye on becoming one of the best softball teams in the world. As the country hosts the SEA GAMES, the Blu Girls hope not only to win medals, but also win the hearts and minds of more Filipino fans. (Ma. Angelica Garcia)
When the Filipinos think about the team's success in the Southeast Asia Games, the men’s basketball team always comes to mind. But our national team does not have a perfect gold medal record in SEA Games basketball having finished second in the 1989 edition of the tournament. In fact, the most dominant Filipino team in the SEA Games is our national women’s softball team, the Blu Girls. They have each won a gold medal in women’s softball at nine Southeast Asian Games. For all its success, softball remains relatively unknown in the Philippines, when most of the attention of fans is focused on mainstream televised sports like basketball and volleyball. But now the Philippine women’s softball/Blu Girls are in the top 4 for the World Cup 2023.
News and Events from Around the World As the world continues to shrink thanks to technology, it's important to keep up with what's happening beyond our local and national borders. Here's a look at some of the latest news and events happening around the world:
● Softball Blu Girls secure World Cup berth after finishing top four in Asian Cup 2023
The Philippine women’s softball team will travel to the 2024 Women’s Softball Cup after securing a place in the medal round of the 2023 Women’s Softball Asia Cup in Incheon, South Korea. The Blu Girls are looking to finish in the four of the Asia Cup after hosts South Korea lost 11-0 Japan on Thursday.
The top three from the Asia Cup will advance to the World Cup in Dubai, Ireland, Butrio, Italy and Valencia, Spain. But Asia gets a wild card, with fourth place in the tournament earning that spot. The Philippines lost 9-1 to Japan on Friday, but ended the preliminary round with a 5-3 fourth place record, a game ahead of South Korea.
The president of the Philippine Amateur Softball Association Jean Henri Lhuillier said that ‘I'm so proud of these girls, they really work hard for the moment and give it their all every game’. It was a huge achievement because it was an all-Filipino team, the first in nine years. We at ASAPHIL will ensure they get the preparation and exposure they need to compete against the best teams in the world at the World Cup in July, said Lhuillier.
The Philippines will take home the medal when they battle Chinese Taipei for bronze on Saturday. The Blu Girls took an early 4-0 lead but Chinese Taipei scored three runs at the bottom of the first inning to make it a close game. Chinese Taipei eventually seized control with three runs in the third inning. The ranking will determine where the Philippines ranks in the World Cup. The Blu Girls will take bronze with hosts Ireland, Australia, Botswana, Great Britain and the United States. Should the Philippines finish fourth in the Asia Cup, they will be up against Spain, Canada, Venezuela, New Zealand and the Asia champions in Group C. Were excited to get a World Cup berth, which was our goal at the start of the game. But we’ll be fighting for a podium, and I’m sure the team can do it. Said Blu Girls coach Randy Dizer.
The Philippines ended their preliminaries 5-3 to secure themselves a top 4 spot with losses in Japan (1-9), China (2-6), and Chinese Taipei (0-5).
● Blu Girls seek foreign exposure for World Cup Blu Girls captain and starting pitcher Ann Antolihao stressed the importance of international exposure as the team prepares for the World cup scheduled for July 22-26 in Italy. The Blu Girls qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 2018 after
finishing fourth. The Women’s Softball Asian Cup at Songdo LNG Stadium in Incheon, South Korea, on April 8 2023. The Philippines are 5-3, they beat Hong Kong (7-0), South Korea (2-0), Singapore (8-1), Thailand (10-0), and India (10-0), and lost to Japan (9-1), China (6-2) and Chinese Taipei (5-0). Japan topped the list with a clean sheet (8- 0). China is second (7-1) and Chinese Taipei is third (6-2). South Korea ranked fifth (4- 4), followed by Hong Kong (3-5), Singapore (2-6), Thailand (1-7) and India (0-8).
While they have been ranked No.4 in Asia, the Blu Girls might be dealing with a difficult task from Japan, Canada, Venezuela, New Zealand and Italy within the World Cup. “That's why we want extra overseas exposure. Our coaches realize that is what we lack,” Antolihao stated throughout the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum on the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex on Tuesday. Also, Antolihao said that “were glad that we have been capable of go back to the World Cup, who became joined through teammates CJ Roa (pitcher) and Celine Ojare (catcher) in the weekly session presented by San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
The top two teams in the World Cup will be seeded in next year’s edition. Roa said a training camp in Japan would be ideal. “A high-level training in Japan, even tune-up games with university schools, if given a chance, hopefully in Japan,” she said, adding “skills wise, we have that here but we don't have enough exposure.” The Blu Girls are home grown talent, with players from Bacolod, Makati, and Bukidnon and Batanes provinces. Meanwhile, Antolihao said the coaches will decide who will be included in the final World Cup squad. The team will resume training on April 24 2023.
Under the guidance of coaches Ray Pagkaliwagan, Randy Dizer and Anthony Santos, and with the support of Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) President Jean Henri Lhuillier, the Blu Girls made it to the World Cup. Congratulations Blu Girls Philippines for making it to the bronze medal game in the 2023 Women’s Softball Asia Cup. Your dedication and hard work have paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of your accomplishment. As a student communicator I am optimistic and
excited to see what the future holds for Philippine softball. Keep up the excellent work and continue to inspire others including me with your passion for the game.
