Day 19 - Phlint

What are we even doing here?“ Clint whines, when he and Natasha enter the mall. Clint hates malls. They are loud and dirty and there were always so many people. Clint hates people.

„Well I thought I could show you your Christmas present a bit early.“ Natasha says and she sounds already bored. But she gets Clint’s attention with that.

„Present? I get one? Right now?“ Clint asks and puts an arm around her shoulders. Natasha wrinkles her nose at that, but she doesn’t slap his arm away. Probably because they are many people around them.

„Not if you are being annoying.“ Natasha says then and Clint pouts. She knows how much he loves presents.

„Alright. I’m gonna be cool. I mean I’m cool a lot.“ Clint says and then winks at Natasha, who pretends to puke. Pah. She has no idea, how cool he is.

„You are making it worse. Now I just wanna go home.“ Natasha says, but she still points at another direction then the exit and Clint follows her. He looks around, but he doesn’t even know those shops around them.

„What the heck, could you possible gift me in a mall?“ Clint mutters and then nearly runs into Natasha, when she stops. Clint is so glad to be an Agent and knows how to move his body, because if not he would’ve fallen on his ass. Right here in the mall.

„There it is. Merry Christmas, Clint!“ Natasha says and with one kiss to his cheek, she is gone. Clint looks after her and frowns. What is his present? The garbage can next to him?

„Merry Christmas!“ Someone says then and wait. Clint knows that voice. He turns around and now he really needs to sit down. There is. Phil. Phil Coulson. Like Agent Phil Coulson in a mall dressed as Santa Claus and he has a child on his knee who explains what she wants for Christmas.

What?

Clint rubs his eyes and then looks over there again. It is really Phil. He is not even wearing a beard. Clint huffs at that. What type of Santa Claus doesn’t wear a beard? Clint can tell you the answer. A bad one.

But Phil smiles so softly at the little girl on his knee, that Clint looks down. He is actually glad there is no beard to cover Phil’s beautiful smile.

„What the fuck.“ Clint whispers and a mother next to him, shoots him a dirty look. Clint waves and tries to look guilty, but he is smiling so hard. He looks around and sees that there are only three more children in the row for Phil. And the mall would close in ten minutes anyway.

Clint sees how Phil sighs, when the last kids waves at him and then leaves. There are only very few people in the mall and Clint comes closer. Now or never.

„Hey Santa.“ Clint says cheekily and Phil turns around. Clint can see how shocked he is and he has to grin at that. He never thought something could surprise Phil.

„Clint, what are you doing here?“ Phil hisses at him and Clint pouts.

„I just wanted to make a wish, Santa.“ Clint says and he pretends to be really sad about it. He can hear how Phil groans, but he actually does sit back on his chair. Clint cheers inwardly and goes over to him.

They stare at each other for more than a minute. Phil glaring. Clint smiling wider with every second.

Phil pats his knees. Clint laughs, but he sits down on Phil’s lap.

„So are you here often?“ Clint asks and Phil smacks his thigh. Clint rubs over the place Phil smacked and pouts.

„Can’t you even be serious just once in your life?“ Phil asks and he sounds annoyed. Clint looks down and goes quiet. He doesn’t want make Phil angry. He just… he is nervous around Phil and he always says the wrong things.

„Sorry.“ Clint says and Phil nods.

„It’s okay. I know you mean well. Or I hope so.“ Phil says and Clint nods. He is still a bit…unsure. But he takes a deep breath and then looks back at Phil again. Maybe he should just say it. After ten years… he just can’t deny it anymore.

„Dear Santa I uh… I have a wish for Christmas.“ Clint whispers and he hopes his blush isn’t too bad already.

„Yeah what do you wish for? I’m sure Santa will make it come true, for you.“ Phil says so soft, that Clint’s heart melts.

„You.“

So, this month I treated myself to a fanart commission from the amazing artist @leehanji and look at the wonderfulness that occurred....

during language arts i started drawing a fanart thing on a notecard folded into quarters in the accordion style way and when it's folded in a certain way it looks all straight and stuff but then when you open it it's blackhill and phlint on one notecard

and i showed my friend and explained it that way and they said "like a closet!" and that's the best joke I've heard all week

Here's an unbeta'd oneshot I just wrote to go along with this. Enjoy my horrible writing skills :3 Lines Tony glared across the room moodily ignoring the jovial story Thor was declaring directly into his ear. Across the kitchen from Tony with his back facing him was Steve. Even from here Tony could hear his friendly chatter and chuckles. How could Coulson and Barton manage to make him sound so happy? Don't get him wrong, he believed in sharing is caring just as much as the next guy, but there has to be a line you can't cross. That line being the gold gleam across Steve's ring finger. Tony twisted the matching band around his finger out of habit, still amazed that of all people Steve was the one who managed to pull Tony willingly into a life long commitment. And amazingly Tony was happy. Actually happy to wake up every morning to those same sky blue eyes. Happy to go to bed at a resonable time when Steve gives him gentle tugs and murmers that it was time to go to sleep. He was just happy to be by his side. Tony shook his head hard trying to disperse those sappy thoughts before his face turned visibly red from embarrasment. He huffed and focused back on his rediculously kind husband, and then immediately felt his scowl return. "Coulson you ninja bastard wipe that smitten look off your face." Tony growled quietly through clenched teeth. "What is that you said metal warrior?" Thor asked cheerfully completely oblivious to Tony's mood. "Nothing. Be right back." Tony stood from the kitchen table and swerved quickly around the counter. Striding confidently over to the chatty trio. "Oh, Stark." Barton said in way of greeting. "Please tone it down a bit Barton, don't sound so enthused." Tony quipped back. "Tony..." Steve warned fondly. "Stark, is there any chance that you are here to kill me? Because those death glares you where sending me didn't seem to work." Couson said in a deadpanned voice. Tony scoffed, "Well excuse me, but he's taken. Just protecting my hubby from unwanted attention." Steve choked in suprise and smacked Tony's arm hard enough to sting a little. "That's what I'M doing dickwad." Barton growled putting his arm around Coulsons waist. "YOUR husband can take care of himself." Coulson scowled smacking the hand on his waist then letting his hand gently rest on top. Barton smirked privately enjoying the gleam of their own silver wedding rings. "Well now that our territory lines have once again been made clear.." Tony pulled the exasperated Steve with him smirking, "Cap owes me some much needed attention."
