Sunday Six (ish)

The Christmas fic currently stands at 63,121 words. And I'm not halfway done. It's been a while since I posted any words from it, since it's been a while since I've written any words so enjoy this longer excerpt. Instead of Sunday Six sentences it's like Sunday Six paragraphs lol

Someone knocked at the door. “Clint?” It was Phil fucking Coulson himself. Clint gripped the edge of the sink, wondering if Phil would freak out if Clint pulled him into the bathroom and shoved him against the wall. How thin were these walls anyway? “Get a grip, Barton.” Clint glared at himself in the mirror. Phil was hot. This was an indelible fact. Clint had known this for eight years. Phil loved him. Clint had also known this, for years. Clint and Phil were together now. This was new. And they had their whole lives to fuck the ever loving shit out of each other. Clint could wait. He would wait. Because Phil needed him to be in his right mind for this family holiday. Clint could do this. “Are you okay?” Phil persisted. “I’m fine,” Clint said, and he thanked his lucky stars his voice actually did sound fine. Being a spy did sometimes pay off. “One minute.” He patted his face dry, gave himself a stern look—straighten up, Barton!— and then pulled open the door with a smile for Phil. Phil, who was looking up at him with just a touch of concern, his crows feet crinkling just so at the corners of his eyes. Clint wanted to kiss each crinkle.

It's time for the second annual Phlint Winter Phestival!

The Phlint Winter Phestival is back! I had so much fun last year, and I can't wait for us all to do it all again! A big thank you to all the creators, pinch-hitters, and fans for making it such a success last year!

What is the Phlint Winter Phestival, you ask? The Phestival is a winter fanworks festival focusing on Marvel characters Clint Barton and Phil Coulson. The phestival is inspired by Feelstide, the original ClintCoulson fanworks festival, one of my favorite ClintCoulson holiday traditions, and I'm so excited to be part of that legacy living on. I also want to make sure to thank @thegirlinthebyakko for our adorable avatar!

The phestival is a winter and holiday themed fanworks festival, rather than a fanworks exchange. That means there are no direct recipients -- we all get the joy of new Phlint fanworks! Every work created for the phestival will be added to an Ao3 collection and will be revealed throughout December, spreading the joy through the whole month.

Here's how it works! Everyone is invited to submit prompts on the spreadsheet linked below. Prompts can range from a single word to a basic fic summary, and you can prompt anything you'd like to see or read, as long as it is winter or holiday based, and centers around Clint and Phil.

You do not have to sign up to be a creator to provide a prompt. Anyone can submit a prompt! Christmas prompts are of course welcome, but we'd love to see a wide variety of holiday and winter themed prompts!

Creators can choose their preferred prompts and posting dates when signing up. Since we're hoping for a wide variety of fanworks for the phestival, each prompt can only be claimed twice. There will be space to provide two preferred prompts when signing up, in case one of them has already been claimed twice. Creators are welcome to submit a fanwork based on a prompt of their own.

When sign-ups close, each creator will be emailed with their prompt and due date. Fic should be a minimum of 500 words, though longer fics are definitely welcome, and if you choose to create art for a prompt, we ask that your work be at least one complete piece based on your prompt.

As this is the Phlint Winter Phestival, Clint and Phil should be the main pairing or part of the main relationship, or one of the main pairings or part of one of the main relationships. Threesomes/moresomes are welcome. Gen fic and art is welcome as long as it is centered around Clint and Phil.

I love love love this fic! Soulmates is always a big draw for me already, but with layering the other tropes and hilarity on top? So good :D I also really like the backstory for Phil in this fic and how all the little things over decades lead to the perfect storm during the undercover op.
