Hiiiii, someone asked me to make an icon tutorial so here I am. First of all, english is not my native language (and I don’t know the tools’ names haha what a mess), so please bear with me because this is going to be a long ass ride.

WHAT I USED

Phososhop CS6 Portable.

Basic skills (remove a backgound, crop and coloring).

Screencaps.

This PSD and this one.

1. The first thing you need is a pic or a screencap. I used this screencap from BTS’ DNA MV.

2. Open your screencap in photoshop and remove the background. There’s a lot of ways to remove a background, but I usually do this. Select this tool

and then press “Q” in your keyboard. Now brush Namjoon like this

and press Q again. With the erase tool remove the background and it’s going to look like this

Erase the tiny parts from the background if you have to so it looks the cleaner as possible. Okay, now we have our png image!!

3. Resize the image. It can be 100x100, but for now I resized it to 200x200.

Duplicate the layer (I always duplicate it because I mess up sometimes haha). It’s going to look like this.

4. This is the fun part. For the background you can use a random color. I choose a vibrant one. Add a new layer and paint the background with this tool

5. For the coloring, I brush the hair and the clothes first. I use this tool

to select the same color as the hair. Brush the hair and set it in Soft Light and change the opacity.

Do the same with the jacket and then, select those layers and press right click to create a clipping mask.

Now it looks like this!!!

6. Now, I always change the background color when I start coloring the image, so don’t worry if you have to select another one. The first color I used was #9c00a0 but I changed it to #b20088. It looks like this now

7. Now starts the hell. I usally use random adjustments for the coloring and it’s never the same for every icon, so have patience. For this icon, I added color balances, curves, brightness/constrast and vibrances.

8. I added some PSD’s and adjusted a few layers and the opacity. Play around until you like it. This is the result

9. You can leave it that way or add a gradient. For the gradient, select this tool

and choose two colors 

add a new layer below Namjoon’s pic and adjust the opacity

10. FINALLY you can add a new layer above everything and, with a soft brush, you can brush a corner of the icon or wherever you want (I used #ffffff). Adjust the opacity to 11%, resize it (100x100) and ta-da, you have your icon!!

High detail building model with Vray and multi layer phososhop PSD file. Architecture conceived as the design of structural details tends to follow a specific pattern of development. Whether the structure being designed is the system of primary supports or the lightweight cladding, it is developed from a single component. Once the component is designed, the entire building is designed, the component need only be multiplied ad infinitum. Architecture then becomes little more than the replication of a detail. Sometimes such components embrace more than a single element, as is the case with the window-walls of the Philadelphia Police Headquarters. Here each stack of three windows is a single precast concrete frame, like a ladder or a perforated pier, carrying the floor slabs. Walls on the Arm Italia industrial buildings are built of comparable vertical elements, but here the window pattern is varied to great advantage. The Banque Lambert building in Brussels treats columns as sharp spikes or prongs, extended below and above the floor slabs. The BMW Garage is based on essentially the same idea, but here the fascia of each slab is enlarged to make a massive parapet, while the columns projecting above and below are reduced to stumps. The preceding examples are instances of rational problem-solving arbitrarily inflected toward sculptural qualities, which may or may not be at variance with structural logic. The intention has been to make structure in some way expressive, but not necessarily of a structural fact. Another response within the parameters of problem-solving treats the skin of a building like a precisely machined industrial artifact and goes to some trouble to emphasize the resemblance.
