Pilates heeft een verrukkelijk effect op het lichaam. Het is #stretch, #controle en #kracht. Het is werkelijk super #decompressie voor het lijf. Je voelt na elke sessie langer met veel meer ruimte in bijvoorbeeld de ruggengraat en openheid in de ribbenkast en heupen. Het is bewezen dat door effectief te stretchen terwijl je actief beweegt, dat de flexibiliteit enorm verbetert en blessures significant verminderen. Het is belangrijk om spieren en fascia te strekken en dat doen we in werkelijk élke Pilates oefening; zowel op de mat als met de #PilatesApparaten. Overigens vergroten de apparaten het stretchende effect nog meer. De #metalensprings van de #PilatesToestellen hebben als extra ook nog een diepe excentrische werking op het bindweefsel. (Een excentrische contractie is een spiersamentrekking waarin de weerstand van de metalen veren groter is dan de kracht die door de spier wordt geleverd, zodat de spier langer wordt tijdens de contractie.) De flexibiliteit verbetert hierdoor enorm snel. Het is ook noodzakelijk om onze heupen, heupbuigers en bovenrug te strekken en tevens de rug te versterken. The Mermaid with the Tower or Chair is really delicious. We don’t do the Mermaid on the Mat in our studio, because Joseph Pilates never did it on the mat. It is not good for the back. So it is better to do the Mermaid on the Chair like in the video. This video is made during one of our Groupsessions with the Chair. The Pilates Chair works as a personal lie detector. The Chair is a test if your focus is stable. You have to keep all the connections together with full concentration. All the movements with the Chair trains the body and the brain to be stable. This stability translates into confidence, strength, and flexibility.
This challenge is perfect for our Pilates members who have doe many Pilates sessions (at least 30). Not for who are just starting out with Pilates exercises. It is better to have a good foundation, a solid Pilates experience before you start with these wonderful, but challenging Chair Groupclasses.
