🇵🇭Aswang At Berdugo is a political horror in which a young superhero meets an Aswang who kills murderous Manila police.

Pinoy Monster Boyfriend Anthology V2 has most of the same stories as the original copy, apart from a brand new story by Nowherebear, "First Sacrament", and a brand new cover and interior art by Defenestratin!

Help me fund a Filipino-made comic in English, “Aswang at Berdugo”!

Hello everyone! I’m very excited to announce a 3-part komiks project involving characters from the Project Bayani Komiks. 

Each story will have some darker themes, some horror or horror-adjacent (just in time for Halloween), and each issue will star one of the three Young Bayani or superheroes! 

Bernardo Carpio, or Boy - Issue 1 - ASWANG AT BERDUGO (monsters and executioners)

Adarna, or Dara - Issue 2 - BANTAY TUBIG (guardians of the water)

and Patrick, formerly known as Lastikid - Issue 3 - KURAKOT (corrupt)

This will take place with each former teenage hero now in their twenties. 

The first story in the lineup will star Bernardo Carpio, and will be entitled “Aswang At Berdugo” (roughly translated - Monsters and Executioners)

The story sees “hero of the people” Bernardo Carpio called by police to investigate supposed “aswang attacks” in a slum in Metro Manila, and encountering the so-called masked “Aswang Killer”. 

It will tackle themes of police brutality and EJK or extra-judicial killings in the Philippines.

I’m hoping to raise funds for this project so that I may be able to supplement the amount I will be paying this comic’s amazing artist, Gener Pedriña. 

So I’m asking for DONATIONS and providing REWARD TIERS to help us get this comic made! This will be happening through Ko-Fi, linked on my blog!

#PrideBookstagram Day 8: Fresh Romance Vol. 1⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ This collection of short comics isn’t strictly queer romance but 2 out of its 5 stories feature non-het relationships which I’m so glad about⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ In the Ruby Equation, Ruby is sort of a space-age cupid and I loved that she was indiscriminate in ~causing meetcutes at the cafe she’s working on. She sensed the attraction, put in some of her magic, and voilà! Cute blonde and bearded hottie meets each other. 💕⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In School Spirit, one of the main couple’s secret lesbian relationship drives the plot and is rightfully given an HFN. 😊 It also shows “cool” gay parents but huhu, they need a little bit of perspective, imo, to be ACTUAL cool parents in my book. (I can’t say much bec spoilers. 😅) ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Get this book, read it and squee to me about it in the DMs! 😊 I have a lot to say and I can’t wait to reread this.⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ *I’m reposting these photos bec my copy (generously passed on to me by #besfluencer @chachicsbooknook! 💝) is with friends and I haven’t taken new photos to post.
