J2 Tinhat Timeline

Based on the one I created here long ago but separated into individual years this time around (from 2015 to present).

Please PLEASE comment/message me/etc. with any moments you think should be included!

I’m starting out of order (for no particular reason) with:

2017 -

*note: content within each year is not yet listed chronologically

Minncon:

Jared equates obstacles/fights he and Jensen have dealt with in their relationship to obstacles/fights that married couples + romantic partners deal with.

(parallel to seacon 2016, once that year has been added)

Jensen (on his relationship with Jared): “I think the first time the idea hit me that this was going to be a really solid relationship was the first time we got into a fight.”

Jared: “-when you see something tested...when someone is fighting with their boyfriend or girlfriend or husband or wife, like you know what? These are the moments you figure out if it’s worth it, because you are going to have struggles, and you are going to have times that suck. Is it worth it to carry on? Do you want to carry on?”

Also-

Jared gestures toward Jensen, saying, “-my spou-, my buddy (...)”

Seacon:

Jared refers to a singular trailer that he and Jensen share (one of many times the Js have done this)-

Jared: “And they’re, like, knocking on our trailer.”

Houscon:

Jared (about himself and Jensen and the time constraints of filming etc.): “We didn’t see our family last week. (…) but that being said, our kids get to see their parents doing something that they love.”

Nolacon:

Jensen talks about household chores and says, referencing himself and Jared during his response, “It is split up. When we’re not there, she handles it. When we come home, she’s like ‘here’s the keys to everything,’” seemingly implying that the Js are in one household together some percentage of the time and that they’re often given their space, just the two of them, when they’re home.

Honcon:

Jared and Jensen wear matching shirts that Jensen both picked out and purchased for them prior to the panel.

*noteworthy because….Jensen dressing Jared = the best thing ever, and also Jared/Jensen matchy match moments = the best thing ever # 2.

Also-

The ‘like you always do’ slip happens during a J2 conversation that Jared can’t help but turn into something dirty (of course 😏).

Jensen: “I went in pretty quick-”

Jared: “-like you always do.”

*extreme oops face courtesy of Jared followed by a significant and lingering look exchanged between both of the Js which ironically is much more so what makes this a tinhatty moment than the actual dirty comment itself.

Nashcon:

Jensen steps forward to intimately massage Jared’s head during an emotional moment-

Pittcon:

Both Jensen and Jared use the word “contract” while talking about kid-planning. Jared talks about needing to be “-specific in the contract.” As in, “-I don’t mean two MORE [kids]. I mean two TOTAL.”

Jensen then refers to his own situation by saying that it was a “-loose contract that apparently held no water.”

Jib:

Jensen intimately embraces Jared while singing “don’t you cry no more” (from Carry on my Wayward Son).

Also-

(@ the Orion concert) Jensen points directly at Jared while singing.

“-let me be your fortress, when the night winds are driving on…be the one to light the way, bring you home.”

AHBL:

Jensen touches his pointer finger to Jared’s hand, which is exactly how he and his ‘wife’ privately say ‘I love you’ to each other according to what Jensen himself publicly shared with us during Vancon-2016.

*note that this is only one well-known example and that there have been many more of these specific finger touches between the Js both before and after AHBL 2017.

DCcon:

Jared (about the Padackles Turks & Caicos vacation): “[Jensen] knows, because we went there as a family.”

Chicon:

Jensen discusses his relationship with Jared using undeniably ‘couple’-y phrases-

“There’s a support system that exists within us for each other. It allows us to create and work hard. It allows us to love. It allows us to be open. I’m very thankful to have that with someone else.”

Also-

Jared: “I don’t think Sam eats a lot of pie.”

Jensen: “No, I would say, yeah, pretty much! I don’t think Jared does either!”

*note: we’re all on the same page when it comes to the whole ‘eating pie’ metaphor (of the, um, sexual variety) are we not?

ComicCon:

The world is forever blessed by this E.W exclusive photo of Jared posing in a very, um…interesting way with Jensen!

SDCC:

The Js take part in a ‘newlyweds’ type game where they demonstrate to the world yet again just how thoroughly they know and understand each other.

Jensen: “Jared is right! It’s beef jerky.”

*note: Misha doesn’t do well…surprise, surprise!

Although, in his defense, he does very accurately summarize the vibe of the whole thing in relation to the J’s answering correctly for each other-

“That’s what true love looks like!”

ACLfest (Austin):

The Js are filmed by Tiffany Resig sharing a romantic little ride in a pedicab (bike taxi) and looking like the most obvious husbands.

June 1st:

Jared posts a picture of him and Jensen out to dinner and captions it “date night.”

October 1:

Jensen poses in front of a mural that says “love is love,” a well known LGBT+ slogan, and then later that same day, Jared poses in front of a mural that says “love will win,” captioning it with “every time.”

August 20th:

A candid clip is filmed of the Js during their down time on set, and the only thing we can all talk about is the blatant lack of any personal space whatsoever between the two of them.

I wasn’t sure if you meant combined moments of the boys being protective and jealous or if you meant 5 of both so I did 5 of both!

First up protective moments

Protective!Jared:

1. Jared (and the cast) crashing Jensen and M’s panel. JIB8.

Jensen had been having a hard time emotionally during this day and he was struggling during this panel, so Jared had the cast crash the panel and give Jensen a big group hug.   

2. Jared standing up for Jensen to a rude fan. LACon 2011. 

Back in 2011, Jensen wasn’t attending East coast conventions, or at least the majority of them, but Jared was and a fan very rudely asked Jensen why he didn’t attend East coast conventions. While Jensen was trying to explain the difficulties of flying to a location to the East coast and back to Van in time to film, the fan interrupts him to say that Jared does it, at which point, after looking stunned for a second, Jared jumps in to defend Jensen and explain that they couldn’t attend cons that would risk delaying production. I don’t know of any gifs of it but you can watch the moment here: Jared defending Jensen. LACon 2011.

3. Mini protective!Jared moment EWPopfest 2016.

4. Some protective!Jared at DCCon 2017.

This is more of a cute protective!Jared moment. A fan asked about what drink would represent the boys best and then sounded a bit angry when Jensen was thinking of a reply.

5. Protective Jared calming Jensen down by...rubbing his chest and shoulder. Pittcon 2016.

A fan asked Jensen why he hadn’t been at the concert the night before to which Jensen replied he was on a flight on his way to the convention and Jared...proceeded to rub his chest and shoulder because that’s...totally how buddies soothe each other and not a husband move at all....

Protective!Jensen

1. Jensen telling a fan to take down a FB page that blamed Jared for everything. Vegascon 2013.

Back in 2013 a fan’s mom apparently had a FB page called “I blame Jared Padalecki for everything...good” thing is the fan left out the “good” part and even proceeded to ask Jared how it feels to be blamed for everything! It should come as a surprise to no one that Jensen was not okay with this at all and got noticeably pissed off.

2. Jensen crashing Jared’s supposed to be solo panel. JIB9.

I’ve talked about this so many times y’all are probably tired of it but honestly? I don’t give a fuck this moment was beautiful and sweet and you can pry it out of my cold, dead hands! Jared was supposed to have had a solo panel but he hadn’t been feeling very well he had said it in the j2 panel (which is when the moment in the first gif happened) as well as reportedly mentioning it during photo ops so when the time for his solo panel came, Jensen crashed the panel to distract and take care of his boy for a while along with Rob and Richard. 

3.  This hug from JIB7. 

Do I even need to say anything? Jensen’s protective expression, the way he pulls Jared in close, how Jared naturally tucks himself into Jensen’s arms, Jensen wearing an AKF shirt 😭

4. Jensen checking up on Jared during the JIB9 Orion Concert.

Jared got emotional during Brianna’s performance at the concert and Jensen went to check up on him. 

5. Jensen telling others to back off his boy and give Jared some space. 2018.

During the 2018 CW Upfronts Jensen shared that the year before the event had been so hot that Jared was sweating and then got anxious about sweating so much so he started sweating even more so he pulled him aside to cool down and when people tried to rush them he told them no because Jared needed to cool down. 

Now for jealousy! 

Jealous!Jared:

1. Jealousy at the Red Carpet. Saturn Awards 2016.

I love how Jared seems to do a double take like ‘Jensen why is somebody else making you laugh?’ before jumping to get Jensen’s attention

2. When you start off being jokingly jealous and then almost give you and your husband away. Vegascon 2019.

1. Jensen being noticeably jealous during. AHBL 2009.

This moment is iconic in j2 history; it was obvious how jealous Jensen was and to top it all off when Jared went to get his shirt signed by him, Jensen signed it right over Jared’s heart. 

2. Rob was clinging on too tightly to Jared for Jensen’s liking. Vegascon 2017.

Pittcon 2018 - Saturday - Misha Collins

The Castiel Photo op was ABSOLUTELY a huuuuge surpise to me. 

I’d been debating spending extra money for a Misha Solo op (Debating because I was already spending way more money than I should have been AND Misha would be in the J2M photo op, so really, did I need another one? When I’d also gotten one with him 2 years ago?)

And so I was like “Yeah, if there’s still some left when I get to con, I’m totally buying one” and @childofautumnn was trying to tell me not to buy anything yet and i was thinking “Well, I can’t... till I get there...” And then when I showed up at their house in the wee hours of thursday morning, they broke the good news!!!!

And @li-izumi had a good laugh at me while we were waiting in line. See, we were IN the room for it, but theres a divider between the two halves so you can't see the photo ops till you get closer. but it's not a FULL divider.

So Li grabs hold of me and she's all "I CAN SEE HIM! I SAW HIM!"

And I looked up and all I saw was Chris, the photographer, returning to the room and I basically said "Who, Chris?"

She gave me this look - the one you know when you've said something derpy - and is like "Yes. i'm excited for the photographer. NO! MISHA!"

In my defense, i really didn't see him AND i mean, you COULD be excited for the photographer because without him, the line isn't going to move and we weren't gonna get anywhere near Misha... right?

So, I already had my special moment with the autographs with him 2 years ago, I didn’t expect anything more this time around. Especially with what I brought for signing. As proud as I am of this (which i cropped some to fit on a regular page) it didn’t really engender much pause to stop and converse. 

I actually kinda regret that the better idea I had? I had AFTER I got this. Ooops. I think what I SHOULD have done was this:

It’s my GISHwhes 2016 Etch-A-Sketch Celebrity - which of course was Misha. What do you think? I’ll have to keep that in mind for the (not gonna happen) next time. Right?

At any rate, even though it was pretty much a small talk, hello and signing,  I was okay with that. I heard during con that Misha refuses to limit the number of autos he does…so he has to go along pretty fast to make sure he gets to everyone. Since I already had my special moment, I was more than okay with him saving a little time with me to spend on someone who might be meeting him for the first time.

I do find it funny that he ALMOST signed my kids thank you note, lol!

I also kinda found it funny that Misha was put behind a wall for autographs on Saturday and his line was insane. On Sunday, he was given an open table with a clear view by everyone for any stragglers or folks who only showed up for Sunday and his table was between the hidden ones for Jensen and Jared. But it was like “Saturday - ALL the privacy!” and “Sunday - Meh... we’re good like this...”

Also, though I don’t plan to do any blow by blows of the panels that are already up on Youtube, I still have to say that i’m super glad that 

A) i actually got to enjoy his entire panel this time (the kiddo needed me to walk out halfway through the last time. out of all the panels she decided she had to use the bathroom, it was during Misha’s - so sad!) 

 B) I got to listen first hand to his answer about what prop he would take home from set.

Pssst, Spoilers: Jensen - because he’d be handy around the house. Then he mentioned the Impala but that Jensen had called dibs on that back in, like, season 1 or something and he’d probably have to fight him for it :P

I wanna talk about something. I’ve had this note on my phone since PITTCON2017 and I still haven’t posted about it.

In season 12, I had a lot of feelings about Mary Winchester; along with the rest of the fandom.  I wasn’t a big fan of her this season because of...well...reasons. Mostly because I had my own idea of what she should have been like.

BUT, the fabulous Samantha Smith blew my mind during her panel! (keep in mind this was last year’s pittcon, before the events of season 13) Here it is:

Sam and Dean are OLDER than her. 

According to Canon: Mary Winchester was born on December 4, 1954 and died on November 2, 1983 at 28 years old.  She was resurrected by Amara in 11x23 “Alpha and Omega” on May 25, 2016.  Yes, she’s been in Heaven all this time, but as her 28 year old self. Her age was on pause in the meantime.

Technically, as of today, June 12, 2018:

Mary Winchester is 30 years old.

Dean Winchester is 39 years old.

Sam Winchester is 35 years old.

Mary is younger than her sons.
