I am trying to boost my drawing motivation lately, so, I will try to participate in funguary this time
Day 2
My take on pixie cup lichen
I decided to name that weird cute girl Pixie. I love her so much already
A few words about her character:
A little bit of an overthinker (looking for connections where there are none)
Waterbender! You have to be a special little mushroom in order to be a waterbender! (+a reference to how real life lichens love water)
Has great empathy and generally it's very pleasant to be around her
Likes to keep her room very little illuminated, doesn't like to be in the sun in general
What do y'all think?

Applejack stands among pixie cup lichen.
In Buckland Monachorum, in Devon, England.
Cladonia asahinae, the pixie cup lichen or Asahina's cup lichen, is a species of cup lichen in the family Cladoniaceae.
A bit more about the lichen here:
-and a quote from that site:
This colony of Cladonia chlorophaea, and all of its lichen siblings, are extremely hardy organisms. Some can even endure temperatures as low as -60 degrees Celsius. They grow extremely slowly, but make up for slow growth with incredible longevity. Some are thought to be as old as 4,500 years.

Day 2 of Funguary! Pixie Cup Lichen
I wasn’t quite sure what to do with this one and then this visage suddenly became emblazoned on my mind’s eye and I had to draw them
[Image ID: An illustration of a small creature resembling a single stalk of Pixie Cup Lichen. It has a tube body that flairs out at the bottom and top. On the bottom it fans out in little sections like the ruffle-y leaf-like portion of the lichen. Sticking out of the bottom of it are two goofy bird-like stick legs. On the top there is a single droplet of water, but since this creature is so small the water fills up the entire cup-shaped top of its head. Just barely poking out of rim of the cup and inside of the droplet are two large, round eyes staring blankly, but cutely at the viewer like a particularly stupid cat. End ID]

Cladonia stereoclada
You guys. I just found this description of this lichen, and I swear I am not making it up:
I have no idea what this means. I have never heard the term "jizz" outside of . . . well, you know, but especially not in a botanical or lichenological context. So you know, if you want to ID C. stereoclada, look for the jizz, I guess.
