thinking abt how annabeth is the baby out of her, luke, and thalia, who always believed so fiercely in luke’s goodness, always felt so comforted by thalia’s presence—so obviously the youngest—yet out of the three, she is the only one who will ever grow old. the only one to grow past the scared little child into a fully-fledged hero. not a hunter, eternally a child, eternally wild. not a villain or anti-hero, whose last moments of heroism exist lost in those last few moments of fading breath. in a way, the baby is the trio’s only survivor. the only one who lives to become more than that—a true hero. gods, can you imagine that? little seven year old annie? cold, scared, and dirty, shaking in some back end alley armed only with a hammer? little annie—a hero standing tall. fully realized. now that’s something, isn’t it?

Before tsats I really wanted Rick to do books/a book about Thalia and Luke’s entire life stories. Or even just the two years they were running together. But after tsats. I don’t trust Rick with any of his own characters.
Does anybody know and fics with Luke and/or Thalias entire life stories?

the percabeth + grover in tartarus headcanon during the doors of death scene will forever haunt me. percy reverting to his twelve-year-old self. a loyal heart forced to decide between the two people he loves most. annabeth reverting to her seven-year-old self. kicking and screaming to be put down as percy carries her to safety. grover remaining as the adult in the situation. the protector shielding the kids from harm. and the prophecy line 'an oath to keep with a final breath' echoes in the depth of each of their minds. those three will never see each other again. those three will never be the same.

how it feels to talk about Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth's broken family, it's role in the Great Prophecy, and it's influence on the core emotional arc of pjo itself:

give me annabeth unintentionnaly reminding people that luke and thalia raised her. Give me people being weirded out when they realize luke and annabeth share the same smile. Give me a son of hermes frustrated and screaming that annabeth always manages to steal and play tricks on the whole cabin without getting caught and how "she isn't the one with a trickster in her family" and then it hits him. Give me a daughter of hermes who realizes that the reason she always goes to annabeth when's she sad is because she comforts her like luke did. Give me percy realizing that annabeth tilts her head the same way luke does when explaining things and him biting his lip. He's jealous but he won't admit it. Give me Clarisse being angry that she can't win in a spar against annabeth because dammit she wields her sword just like luke but then again isn't that why she looses ? Give me Hermes flinching away from annabeth's anger because she has too much of his son's rage on her face.
Give me annabeth's eyes, darkening into a storm cloud color when angry, and it freaking everyone out. Give me Annabeth's voice sounding like a deep rumble when shouting orders. Give me a child of ares laughing at how annabeth wields a spear until they see thalia wield a lightning bolt the next day. Give me Jason being jealous of how Annabeth and thalia share the same belly laugh and smirk. Give me everybody being unsettled by the way it feels like thunder struck when Annabeth pierces at you with an angry gaze
Give me Frederick realizing that she's a sister before she is his daughter.
Give me the gods being scared when they notice her 'big three' traits.

AU where Thalia managed to get to camp with Luke and Annabeth, and as a result Luke never makes that mental switch from "I'm the Dad" (the thing he said at the end of Diary of Luke Castellan) to "I'm the big brother" (what he sees himself ass throughout the books) in regards to Annabeth.
Meaning that the Broken Trio basically just acts like a mini nuclear family all throughout camp 💀 But like, they don't even notice it. Like you see Luke carrying a sleepy Annabeth on his hip while chatting about training with Thalia and he will NOT see anything unusual with it. Thalia is cutting Annabeth's meat while Luke tells her to eat her vegetables and none of the three bats an eye. Luke and Thalia figured out a wake-up schedule for Annabeth's nightmare between them to get her back to bed and act like this is normal routine. After the three end up in separate cabins there have been MULTIPLE petitions within camp to just somehow put them all on the same table at dinner because Annabeth has a nasty habit of asking Thalia if she could get a dessert now when Luke said no, and thus just screams across the dining room. The only reason no one thinks that Annabeth is Thaluke's bio kid is because the ages don't match up. And even then camp wouldn't be surprised if Annabeth someday just starts calling the two Mom and Dad. They'd prepare for a future wedding if it weren't for the fact that Thalia and Luke already behave like they were married for 50+ years as their normal dynamic while remaining completely obvious to it. They are rumors that they are actually married in Vegas with fake IDs started by the Stoll Brothers.

Something something Thalia and Alabaster sharing a fatal flaw... something something childhood bestfriends Annabaster... something something Thalia being made Artemis's lieutenant to satisfy her thirst for power and to get her off Olympus's back, Luke promoting Alabaster to General for the same reasons...
Something something Thalia renouncing the kid she knew and cursed the gods with all these years, and not recognising both him and the child they took in anymore
OHHH I'm having thoughts and Unwell no one stop me

every now and again, i see someone talk about how "unreasonable" it was for thalia to just abandon all her trust and respect towards him after she came back
but like how would you feel if the person you literally died for (and also the person you defended and stayed with for several years of your life) poisoned the one thing that was left of you, the tree, and then you came back and found out that he ditched you to be possessed by a titan and start a war??

Probably hot take: there are exactly 0 relationships between Thalia and Annabeth.
The broken trio works when they all here — two older teenagers took care of a very small Annabeth for a couple of WEEKS, because she is a defenseless, scared child whose life also resembles their own. Well, at best, we went to Camp with Grover for a couple more weeks. And that's it.
Seven-year-old Annabeth had known Thalia for ± one month. And at the TTC, Rick didn't spend a single paragraph to show that Thalia and Annabeth got to know each other at least a little better, as Thalia goes to the Hunters of Artemis.
You see, thaluke is working — Luke and Thalia have known each other for 2 years. They are about the same age and best friends, they know each other well but at the TTC she abruptly turns away from him— okay, I won't start this hurdy-gurdy again.
Lukabeth is working — besides the fact that Luke seems initially a little more attached to Annabeth than Thalia, after this month they have SIX YEARS together; Luke and Annabeth have a real bond that had time to strengthen — Annabeth grew up before his eyes, Annabeth also saw all the changes in Luke. They really know each other, not to mention that they've been going through their shared loss of Thalia — Luke's best friend and one of the only two people Annabeth considers family, without looking back.
Thaliabeth— well... seven years later, frankly speaking, Thalia and Annabeth no one to each other. They don't really know each other.

When Annabeth mentioned that Thalia made her earn her respect, it makes sense because I always got the sense that Thalia grew up in demented Hollywood where her mother was always trying to prove herself for roles and gigs, combined with her own experiences with Zeus. But then I wondered if 7 y/o Annabeth was simply misinterpreting it.
What if Thalia was reluctant to have Annabeth join because she didn’t want her to get hurt by monsters, but also because she was scared of being attached. She’d already lost one little sibling and blamed herself, and was probably scared to get close to Annabeth only to potentially fail her the way she felt she failed Jason. Hence also why she defends Annabeth and Luke with her life on the hill, she doesn’t want to lose anymore family. But when Annabeth gets to camp, she learns the way the gods operate, and assumes that Thalia was operating on the same messed up system.
Idk I just like it better than Thalia making a 7 year old prove herself. And I feel like Percy will def confront Thalia about it in s3 because he’s a king, and I’d love to hear her side of things.

thinking about how the camp diminished Annabeth for still caring about Luke, and yet she's the one that got through to him in the end. Like people accused her of being a spy... even Percy and Thalia felt that her love for Luke would mess things up and yet it saved them. Also the fact that he saw in the river of styx like honestly I wonder if Annabeth felt a bit vindicated after that. Like imagine Annabeth just snapping at a bit "Luke loved me he was awful but he loved me you can't change that" percy would not handle it well and I think this would force him to confront his jealousy.
