I was going to draw the crown too but decided I don't hate myself that much(maybe some other day), and gave him a golden laurel crown, bcs I'm obsessed with that as a motif, and also its very remincient of the boy king statue that started this whole thing!

There's some symbolism of this, both intentionally but also just historically. I love that the orb represents that the monarch is holding the world in their hand, basically every old monarchy has one of those, and I think it's very cool for symbolism. But also bcs of that, I was forced to basically draw catholic fanart so, you win some you lose some. The star halo above him head is both to reference those religious statues with star crowns(I saw them a lot in Europe and they imprinted onto my brain), as well as: his four championships of course!

Lightning, water, and fire! Like forever before the plot starts. By the time the plot starts, the lightning and fire deities have been subjected to punishment by the two gods that picked them.

Oh (the fire deity) is first to be punished. They basically decide that since they're going to live for a long time, gotta set some long time goals! And they opt to be the wrath of the gods since most of the other deities are too 'soft' in their opinion. So Oh just. Smites humans. This isn't really a /good/ thing and in their defense mentally, they do it to help Ymber since he's the softest of them all. So their punishment by the gods is to be split in two, effectively halving the power of one into two. (Now they are in a male and a female body and use both male and female pronouns apart since they together make they but apart it feels weird to be they. But prior to the split they use they/them. Also the split bodies go by the names Ohiwe and Ohime.)

Fulj is the second to be punished. She falls in love with a mortal woman and that is a crime according to the gods. Mortals and immortals are not to be together and it will only bring suffering to both sides. So her punishment is her memories of the woman are stripped and her body basically broken to the point she can't remain physical all the time.

Ymber, unfortunately, is the one who blames himself for the discoveries and punishments. If he had only tried to restrain Oh more then maybe they would have chilled out and stopped before being punished. If he had only tried to persuade Fulj to not continue seeing the mortal woman so often perhaps she wouldn't have been punished. So he's just increasing the guilt on his shoulders every day that he remains unpunished since the elder gods have both laid down to rest. They can't enforce their laws anymore and none of the deities are keen on harming one another at this point. They just want to continue existing in peace.

How did you come up with leon's stage name?

*rubs my grubby hands together* so glad you asked.

Honestly, I kind of struggled to come up with a stage name for him. Rōnin was a strong contender for a while due to the connotations attached to that name (someone that has deserted their homeland, someone who finds the way without belonging to one place, a wandering samurai with no lord or master), but that's Mikey's name from the Ronin-verse, which is already well-known and beloved, so I didn't really want to re-use that. I went through a couple iterations of other names that didn't quite feel right, and got to the point where I was like 'I am about to throw this old man into the pit with a slutty outfit and call it a day'.

Then I went back through what Big Mama knows of Leon (since she'll be the one picking out a name, not me) and I went over that little speech he gave to her when he was trying to bullshit his way out of his predicament.

"... he may be an annoying, egotistical, self-centred little shit, but I can assure you, he’s nothing compared to me. A true natural disaster, worse than any pitiful tornado, earthquake or flood this world has ever laid witness to..." He reconsiders this idea, finding it lacking for all that he's done, not dramatic enough. "No. I'm worse than that. I’m a meteor. An extinction event. I unleashed the Krang onto this world. I’ve destroyed the lives of millions of people just to stand before you now. I’ve sent the people I love most in this world to their graves for nothing more than a small possibility of success. I've obliterated everything that I've ever enjoyed.”

So. Turns out I didn't have to go scrounging around my brain bank for a moniker. Leon's kind of already chosen a dramatic ass name for himself here. Unfortunately, I do not speak Japanese. I use and abuse google translate.

Also meaning shooting/falling star. Also also Ryusei is apparently a boy's name meaning shining bright, or one who is reborn as holy and prosperous. I enjoyed the irony here.

listen,, i am Not defending all of sky's actions or his personality but he's genuinely just not as bad as the fandom makes him out to be.

a lot of y'all forget that sky is a prince with extremely overbearing and downright abusive parents that refuse to listen to him or treat him with any ounce of respect. and that the whole diaspro vs bloom situation was started directly because his parents forced an arranged marriage between diaspro and sky, constantly telling her parents that it would work out and never listening to sky the hundreds of times he tried to stop it. like again, he's not great, he's my least favorite specialist. but that situation was never in his favor. he was a 16 year old that dealt with strict, emotionally abusive parents his entire life and got forced into an arranged marriage with someone he never loved and was constantly told that it Needed to happen for the kingdom. trying to play it out like he's a serial cheater with some nefarious master plan is like,, really weird. again! not a great person he does a lot of shitty things. but blaming that specific situation on him, a teen with absolutely no say in his life who just met someone he genuinely likes and could love, instead of his parents is incredibly weird to me.

see, heres the thing about caine. on top of being demisexual and dense as a brick, they also just. dont believe things like that apply to them. he was never made to be attractive(i hc that they used to map infiltration routes + carry out the occasional assasination or two), and his demisexuality made him assume that regenes weren't capable of sexual attraction. the first time he felt sexual attraction to his boyfriends he basically went "????? THIS ISNT EXCLUSIVE TO HUMANS????" and had a crisis about it the whole afternoon. the idea that people can feel that way towards them and act on it has never once crossed their mind. so good luck on getting them to realize youre flirting. chen barely made it. ortega failed. however. once the initial barriers have been breached, even if the seduction doesnt technically work, the knowledge that theyre trying to flirt is enough to get him embarrassed; so, technically speaking, anything would work as long as it comes with a flashing neon sign prefacing what theyre trying to do. hes very awkward with these kinds of things. its very cute watching him flounder.

oh yeah, absolutely. shed say thats what happened to her with ortega. shes wrong about that, it was only a crush at the time, but she did hold a strong admiration thats easy to confuse when looking back. as for whether or not she had a crush based on looks alone, i dont think so?? she's not the type to put too much stock in appearance– even with ortega it was a mix of how she held herself and her perceived nobility– but then again, its also easy for her to see the pretty in people, and itd be a lie to say looks arent a contributing factor for if she likes them or not. for her, how a person looks just highlights the way they are as a person. its easy for her to develop crushes, though. be friendly with the other person long enough, and its pretty much inevitable. shes very Very lucky shes got all eyes on ortega at the moment, otherwise her love life would be the most embarrassing and inconvenient thing ever.

ceci always comes up with a new pick up line. always. and its always the corniest thing in the world. she loves the creative outlet, and loves throwing her enemies off even more. now that she has a consistent target, shes more motivated to come up with something new. she wants to see what makes argent tick. what makes her roll her eyes, play along, or in rare cases, actually fluster her. whether theyre effective or not depends on who shes using them on, some are more responsive to flirting than others, but the end result doesnt really matter. as long as she gets to do her thing, its a good time.
