A bag is dropped in the chair across from Eric, and when he looks up from his phone and half-cold bowl of pasta, he finds Camilla Collins standing before him.

“Oh,” he says through a mouthful of penne, struggling to swallow it as quick as possible. It hurts a bit when he finally gets it down. “Hi, there!”

Camilla goes to sit down beside her bag and smiles sweetly over at him. “Hey. Eric, right?”

“Yup, though everyone really just calls me Bitty -- because of my last name, not my size.” Eric screams internally. “Anyway, you didn’t need to know that, sorry.”

Camilla just chuckles and props her elbows onto the table, resting her head on her fist. She’s staring at him like she knows something, but her gaze still looks a bit inquisitive. It’s disconcerting, really. Eric knows she’s Jack’s ex, or ex-hook up, or whatever. Holster and Ransom always mention her at Haus parties when Jack’s clockwork absence is noticed, drunkenly cheering about finally getting her back in bed, and Shitty has vaguely confirmed they were involved with each other on more than one occasion. But no one has ever given Eric a straight answer on Jack’s and Camilla’s history.

It’s not like he’s been able to ask about it much, though, either. Eric’s pretty sure Shitty’s starting to pick up on his hopeless schoolground crush with all the questions, and he can’t even look Lardo in the eye when Camilla’s name is brought up anymore. He can only say a silent prayer of relief that Holster and Ransom are too preoccupied with personal endeavors to notice anything, because he’s certain he’d never hear the end of it from them if they knew.

And no matter what, having said crush’s ex-something sitting before him makes the pasta Eric just swallowed sit uneasily in his stomach.

“Bitty, that’s cute,” Camilla says, and it’s not condescending in any way. “You’re on the hockey team, right? With Jack?”

Eric tries to give a humored smile. “What, do I not look the part?”

“Not at all,” Camilla easily smiles with him, “but I like that. There’s too many meatheads on that team. We’ve been needing someone like you for a long time.”

“Hah, yeah,” Eric says, absentmindedly twisting his fork in the pasta, “good thing I’m here then. Those boys finally have actual dinners rather than microwaved bagel bites. And that kitchen when I moved in? An absolute biohazard, lemme tell you. I think I spent a week scrubbing everything, and another full day just cleaning the inside of the fridge. There was also a cabinet solely for sriracha, and, like, really? I think they had at least thirty bottles of it.”

Eric knows he’s babbling on now, but Camilla has this sparkle in her eye and she’s listening so intently that Eric has to catch himself from letting more unnecessary words tumble out. “And now I’m just rambling,” he finishes with an awkward laugh, “sorry about that.”

“You don’t have to apologize so much,” Camilla tells him, “it’s cute. You’re cute.”

Eric blinks and, with the way she’s looking at him, blurts: “Are you hitting on me?”

“What?” Camilla sits back suddenly. They just stare at each other, both wide-eyed, before they both laugh loud enough for the tables around them to turn their heads. Eric laughs, and laughs, and he thinks at some point Camilla is still laughing just because he’s still laughing. He can’t stop, though. Her laugh is light and airy, a melodic sound that matches everything else about her. It’s nearly perfect. And Eric’s own sounds too shrill and uncontrolled, so he just laughs harder because his heart is plummeting and when he stops it’ll be all too real that he’ll never stand a chance with Jack -- especially if he really was with Camilla at some point.

Which is pathetic because Jack is straight. His ex sitting before Eric with blinding beauty is only adding insult to that injury.

Finally, after too long, Eric wipes at the tears in his eyes and takes a shaky breath. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to ask that,” he says when they’ve calmed down enough. “I don’t know why I even did.”

“I was coming on pretty strong, wasn’t I?” Camilla runs a hand through her hair, pushing it out of her face in the process. They have the same hair color. “I’m sorry for that.”

“No -- don’t apologize!”

She waves a hand dismissively, and Eric watches it, unable to stop from comparing his calloused ones to her soft-looking ones. “Anyway, I just wanted to come by and meet you for myself. Jack told me you’d be here.”

Eric nods and desperately tries not to blush. His cheeks heat up anyway. “Yeah, cold pasta always helps after bio lecture.”

“I bet,” Camilla says, and there’s that glint in her eyes again when she continues: “I’ve heard a lot about you, Bitty.”

“You have?”

“Yeah. He’d be stupid not to go for you.” At first, Eric thinks he wasn’t supposed to hear that with how quiet her voice fell. But then her gaze quickly drops down to his body, then to his hair, before meeting his eyes again, and he’s definitely meant to hear: “He really does have a type, too.”

Eric blinks, opens his mouth but finds he can’t say anything, and Camilla bids him farewell with a promise that he come by and watch a tennis match sometime. Maybe he waves, though he isn’t sure. He just watches her leave, winding through the tables until she’s out the door and there’s nothing but his rapidly beating heart and bright red cheeks left in her wake.

He has a type? 

Then, twisting up the cold pasta in his stomach one more time:

Bittle's head lolls to the side as the bus climbs the on-ramp to the freeway, thudding softly against Jack's shoulder. He shifts, too, readjusting his hips, turning toward Jack's body the slightest bit. His hand finding a place on Jack's forearm. His shoulder prodding into Jack's bicep. He doesn't wake, though, and Jack finds he doesn't want to wake Bittle up either.

Using his thumb to bookmark the page in the book he's reading, Jack drops it to his lap and looks over at Bittle. There's nothing but the passing city lights that illunimate all his soft features, features which never seem to callous over: the jut of his jawline, the bow of his lips, the point of his nose. Hair just long enough to fall across the tip of his forehead. Eyelashes so pale Jack can barely make out their curl.

Jack can't explain it. Can't explain the inexplicable comfort that settles deep in his chest, the warmth that blossoms across his cheeks. He drops his gaze further to the stretch of cotton that sculpts Bittle's thighs, the faint hairs on his arms that come and go, glistening under the fading lights.

Slowly, subtly, Jack shifts his body, drops his shoulder to allow Bittle a more comfortable position. His hand on the armrest between them comes alive with nerves, feels everything, and his pinky twitches. Reaches out. Nears Bittle's own.

Bittle shifts again, then, suddenly enough that Jack jerks his hand back and face up to look straight ahead. His heart's pounding. His breath is caught in his throat. He hears Bittle hum, feels Bittle bury his face further into his arm, tightening his shoulders. The grip on Jack's forearm grows stronger for the longest of moments and afterward, Bittle mumbles: "Light. Turn...turn it off."

Reaching up, Jack breathes out a quiet euh and turns the reading light strapped around his forehead off. Another moment lingers, strewn together with held breath and wide eyes, before Bittle relaxes against Jack again and evens his breathing back out.

It's not until they're halfway back to Samwell, somewhere deep in the suburban woodlands of Massachusetts, that Jack allows his eyes to finally close. He didn't feel exhausted before, not even when they all climbed back onto the bus after the game; yet, sleep comes gently, quick, pulls him down with the weight of Bittle againt his side.

Jack hasn't found sleep that easily in a long time.

AoD Head-canons

Side note: None of these are actually canon! Spoilers for Angels of Death’s manga! If you rb this, please do not tag it with ZackRay. I respectfully do not want to be associated with the ship. Sorry there’s no Gray head canons, I’m not very familiar with his character. Love you all, lovelies!! <3

Zack

His favorite food is definitely Doritos. We drag him for the soda with cereal shit but that is for BREAKFAST. All the other meals? Chips. Do not @ me.

^ Definitely has a high metabolism. That’s why he’s so skinny but eats junk food all the time.

Steals/gets magazines from Cathy to look at the pictures and try to decipher what some ads are for.

Loves horror movies still to this day. Probably gets some of his killing tactics from the serial-killers he watches.

When someone finds out he can’t read/when he tells someone he can’t read, he gets angry as a defense from his embarrassment. He’s very self-conscious about it.

He’s very distant from Eddie (and possibly Rachel) because he reminds him of the children in the orphanage he had to bury. Plus, since his floor is associated with graves, it gives him very bad memories of the children there.

^ He was like an older brother to the children in the orphanage. While he doesn’t show it, he definitely felt depressed and frustrated after their deaths because he couldn’t do anything to help them. This also adds onto why he doesn’t like being helpless.

He hates lies because his mother left him at the orphanage and said that she would come back to get him later. (And possibly that they would “help” him with his burns.)

People might drag me for this, but I personally think Zack is straight. There were no given clues that he had a male lean at all and even included that Zack thought a woman was cute for her lie about being a fan. I dunno, I just don’t think he would be all with the guys in my opinion. But of course, I STAN OTHER SEXUALITIES FOR HIM!!! If I had to say he was queer, I would definitely put my bets on bisexual because I don’t think he would get the concept of transgender, non-binary, etc.

Rachel

Rachel was named after her mother.

^ She was much closer to her mother rather than her father and learned how to sew from her. Before her mother and father started to become alcoholics (and possibly drug addicts/gamblers) they were much kinder and let her have a small pet. Hamster, fish, outdoor cat, something like that.

Rachel loves to read fantasy novels and fairytales. Her favorite ones are Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella.

Bullied at school for being quiet and shy, however, she was very intelligent so all of her teachers loved her. People most likely called her a teacher’s pet. </3

Knows how to play fluent piano.

Rachel was closer to Zack than Eddie because she was used to being unfairly treated (because of her parents) and didn’t understand why he was being so nice to her. She began to believe that he was going to manipulate her or try to pull something that would end up hurting her. So, she refused his offer on top of Zack swearing to God.

^ When Eddie was laying in the grave, Rachel was going to invite him to join her and Zack to leave the facility together and that he could bury her after Zack killed her. However, she couldn’t say anything before Zack got to him.

Rachel is self-conscious about her looks because she isn’t as “grown” as the other girls her age.

I’m also pretty sure Rachel is straight. Please don’t drag me for this-once again there are no clues that she is. The only romantic interest she even (semi) had was Eddie. Soooooo…y e a h -

Danny

Not a head canon but take it anyway. People drag him for being a pedophile, but honestly NO. This man is so sweet when he’s not going insane about eyes, please. Danny stans out there STAND UP. Your man is definitely not a pedophile. He works with children for God sake’s, he was just so excited about seeing his mother’s eyes again that he lost it. The creators did an amazing job catching his mental instability. Just because he had jumped onto her does not automatically mean he has an interest in children. <3

I would say this man is definitely a clean freak.

Has a crush on Cathy, buys her clothes, talks to her the most out of all the angels, etc.

When he’s not wearing a doctor’s coat, Danny has some STYLE. Definitely a dapper gentleman if I do say so myself. He goes out looking fine.

^ Radiates easy-going teacher energy.

Danny’s favorite color is blue for obvious reasons. Walk into his office? Blue. Walk into his bedroom? Blue. Look in his closet? Blue.

Into astrology or something nerdy like that. I say astrology because of the blue moon that he relates to his mother’s eyes but he definitely has interest in nerdy things like that.

If I were to say his sexuality, I would assume it’s maybe bisexual?? But I have no idea once again NO CLUES. Actually, I’ve seen people ship Danny x Zack which…ALRIGHT GET INTO IT!!! Altogether though, it is presumed that he has an interest towards Cathy, so I would say definitely a feminine lean.

Eddie

(The sun. The absolute sun. Perfection. We do not slander Eddie here. If you dislike Eddie, get out of here. Immediately. /j)

Eddie’s favorite flower is the poppy flower! It’s actually seen in the anime that he has a vase of them and throughout the episode, he gives Rachel a few! The poppy’s flower language means “peace in death,” so this automatically makes sense as to why he loves them so much! Here’s a picture of one of the poppy flowers from the anime and an actual poppy flower!

Eddie is very insecure about his looks, which is one of the reasons he wears his mask constantly. While he does say it’s because it makes him feel like a professional grave-keeper, he also seems to be embarrassed/ashamed of his ginger hair. He never reveals his face to the girl in episode.eddie, didn’t plan to reveal his face to any of the characters in episode.0, and didn’t purposely reveal his face to Rachel in Angels of Death. He tells the girl, which I will call Elizabeth, not to look at his face while he’s making a grave, even though all she could even see was his eyes. So, he might have been insecure because ginger hair was so rare, along with his green eyes that are also the rarest eye color, and freckles that covered his face.

This head canon is a little disturbing, just a little fyi. Eddie became so lonely that he would put corpses into the freezers he had to look at them and talk to them as if they were still alive. He only chose a few because he likes burying the rest, but he couldn’t handle being so alone that he shoved the feeling of wanting to bury them aside and pretended to have conversations with them. Considering he was the youngest angel there, he seemingly didn’t like to interact with the adults because he felt uncomfortable. So, the corpses are probably children around his age and/or animals that he found roaming about.

Eddie is extremely good at math. This only makes sense because grave-work inquires a lot of math and he was seemingly creating graves at a very young age. This would mean he had a higher level of understanding in math than regular children his age and would most definitely be in advanced mathematics rather than basics. However, his spelling? Terrible. There was even this cute little comic strip from Sasuten where Eddie spells ‘because’ wrong and gets completely embarrassed about it. While he likes to write letters, that spelling would not be 100% correct.

Feminine. Very feminine. Other than his grave-keeping hobby, Eddie shows many characteristics that would usually be more feminine. Like planting flowers, cooking/baking, drawing, reading, things like that. He even appears feminine. He would probably be insecure about this also, considering he had three brothers who were “hooligans.” (As he would say <3)

Eddie has lots of nightmares about his older brother hurting him again and/or being abandoned…

^ Adding onto that, Eddie has the fear of being abandoned rather than being alone. He can easily be alone in the graveyard or on his floor, but he doesn’t like the thought of being abandoned by the other floor masters. This fear is also built up by rejection and abuse from the past.

Pansexual but closeted. He just wants someone to love him no matter what their gender is at this point. And yall can’t tell me he hasn’t killed a boy his age and DIDN’T LIKE HIM. I mean come on. Very much pansexual vibes from him. But he would never admit it.

Cathy

Obviously a diva so her favorite color is pink. Skinny legend!!!

Dyed her own hair without even thinking about transitioning it…just straight pink and blonde. I’m sorry Cathy, but HIRE SOMEONE NEXT TIME PLEASE-

Wears Gucci all day everyday.

Definitely acts extra and puts cucumbers on her eyes and lotion on her face like in the movies as she sleeps with one of those silky robes.

HELLO, MY ART IS NOT. FUCKING. LOLI/SHOTA ART.

I hate that because I have a chibi style Loli/shotacons interact with my content :/ I've had people rb my art under lolisho fetish tags and it's really freaking upsetting, I hate my art that's meant to just be cute and wholesome being associated with that nasty ass content.

I don't have anything against lolis/shotas as character tropes. Sure, I'd rather people call them kids but it's whatever really. Just please stop saying everything that's a chibified or cute character design is a loli or a shota and please for the love of god dont put it under fetish tags unless the artist gives you permission or straight up says it falls under that content (heey could we at the very least respect basic consent and boundaries? Thanks) it's super fucking upsetting to have my art labeled as that both because it's never done with my consent and because I'm fully against that kind of content...

On one hand alright I get it, I do sometimes draw fanart for a series very often associated with lolisho and whose fandom is full to the brim with those kinds of people and I've drawn more suggestive things in my chibi style but its *still* not fucking lolisho, all the characters ive ever drawn suggestively are full grown adults (canonly too, I dont age up characters, I think its weird, not as bad as lolisho, but still weird) that dont look like little children like gazillion year old lolis and shotas do.

Cute/chibi art=/=lolis/shotas. Chibi art is art thats meant to look cute by simplifying features and making the characters look friendlier by making them rounder and having their heads be bigger than usual, but the body proportions are still the ones of an adult and not meant to represent a child's body like loli and shota art does.

Its very upsetting to have my art labeled as that, it's caused people to think I'm a lolicon or that I support that kind of work and it makes me very sad, I am against that kind of content and DON'T support it and never will.

Sorry for the somewhat incoherent ramble but I'm tired of having the same thing happen more and more often, it didn't use to be that big of an issue but recently it keeps happening over and over again and even though I've managed to talk to most people who were doing that and had them change the tags or delete the reblog theres people who outright refused or start doing it again a few days after taking down the old reblog and it's very upsetting :'/

Point out the details! I mentioned earlier about quoting stuff from fics (that stuff is just 👌👌👌 so delicious) but I’m pretty sure (I’m not an artist myself don’t quote me) that the exact same effect is present when you talk about details in art or something. So talk about that pretty snowflake in the background! Or that piece of dialogue that made you laugh. Just a simple nod to the details is a big difference between saying “I like this” versus “I like this thing that you took the time to make the effort you put into the details did not go unnoticed”

And she’s never gone further than messing his hair up or tugging a bit at his clothes, since she doesn’t have the strength to move Kiri all that much haha the only reason she managed to have him fall the first time was because he was balancing already, but generally Kiri weighs way too much for her to move him around or pull at the red stuff he’s wearing enough for him to notice it all that much 

anyway, Baku never reprimended her for it - not more than he did in the first comic I posted with them, at least, specifically because the damage she can make is so minor that Kiri and Baku barely consider it something to tell her off for... if she were ever to act that way towards someone she might actually hurt (say, a kid her own age) then Baku might reprimend her more seriously, but as long as she’s just tugging at Kiri’s clothes they don’t see it as anything worth fighting her over :D

What a good question you got there!! She has control over everything that has a color that falls in the red wavelength of the visible spectrum - that does include certain tones of pink and certain tones of orange, but there’s a point where orange gets too yellow or pink gets too white that her powers stop working. As long as the red in the color is more than any other hue, though, her powers work!

She hasn’t spent much time with Jirou yet so right now she’s mostly meh about her (though right now she only actually likes Bakugou, and she’s warming up to Kiri, but that’s about it). She doesn’t mind Mitsuki, but she hasn’t spent too long with her either! She yells a bit too much at her dad tho, which Akane isn’t particularly fond of (protective bean that she is, she doesn’t get that that’s just their way of communicating just yet), so out of her grandparents she prefers Masaru, after all~

- I had thoughts but then the 02 kids happened and I entered another plane of reality.  I don’t feel real right now

- the only one I can remember is evil!gennai being a dumbass and being like “SUFFER AND SQUIRM YOU PATHETIC HUMANS AS YOU FIGHT OVER THE LAST SEAT” 1. humans are KNOWN for their ability to care for others you dumb obvious fuck and 2. is. is the entire tube going? because that tube can fit too people if they squish.  This isn’t a joke I’m serious it can.

- oh yeah also when i saw whomstever the fuck his name is (adult guy who i love but fuck names) and he was all bloodied i was like “its a cold day in hell when i see blood in digimon” (I think there was blood in an earlier ep but shh idc)

EP 3:

- didn’t nishijima start off as a fucking life coach to these kids.  What the fuck he was supposed to help them find a career not emotionally scar them by bloodily dying in front of one of them

- im realizing that the reason hackmon was always in his cloak, in the shadows, standing still is that they cannot animate him in any normal position for the life of him.  I drew him with better anatomy when i was 14 and didn’t have a tablet.  No seriously, look:

I didn’t say it wasn’t bad, you guys are just underestimating how bad the anatomy on this poor creature is.  Why cant ppl draw dracomon or hackmon correctly imma cry

the best part about these two screenshots is that they literally cut one to the other, first the first one to the second one and then it cuts back to the first one.  They were really proud of these stupid ass expressions.

- I started overcoming my dissociation shock from the second episode and my hypercritical mind was analyzing the shit out of everything that happened (it is Not happy) but then evil!gennai called kari and evil goddess and idk if he’s exaggerating to make her feel bad or if she’s literally a fucking god of chaos and destruction and either way im like

she did kinda like.  Watch wizardmon die, watch tai die, watch gatomon get absorbed.  The dark ocean is just a metaphor for depression and honestly if 02 wasn’t all over the fucking place I think Kari would’ve had some pretty decent development in it.  Actually you know what, I’m using that as an angle to approach Tri at now, wish me luck bc i might actually give it more leeway now

- I like to imagine that Tai got there like a few minutes ago, but he was like “well damn guess yall figured it out without me.  alright ill just. see if I need to do anything” and then meicoomon was Still Bad so he waited for when she struck just to make the most badass entrance possible.  Fucking extra ass bitch

Originally I was actually planning to be kinder to Tri than I expected.  Was very invested during it.  ‘Round the end of the last ep I realized hmmm no this isn’t working out.  Where are the 02 kids.  You should’ve brought them in to save the day.  That would’ve been SO cool and SO fun.  Fucking cowards.

god I’m kinda tired so I’m going to address a couple things I still had problems with, note that this isn’t everything it’s just everything I felt comfortable yelling about without rewatching past eps.  Like I forgot nishijima was all bloodied and presumably died in the last part until they brought it up and I was like “????” ALSO DID THE LADY WHO WAS HIS PARTNER OR W/E KILL HERSELF WITH THE GUN SHE FOUND, I JUST REALIZED LITERALLY AS I WAS TYPING THIS THAT SHE FOUND A GUN AND THEN I THINK IT CUT TO BLACK AND I’M

DID SHE FUCKING KILL HERSELF WHAT THE FUCK

anyways my problems:

1. They did joe. really dirty.  I’ll write a more proper rant on this sometime later (mostly bc charlie is MUCH better at talking about joe than I am) but basically I can tell you that his character development in the movies squandered his OG character development.  He’s basically an entirely different person.  Like Tri joe isn’t bad, besides being largely neglected (yes he has a whole half a movie to himself, no that doesn’t make up for it all), its just...not OG joe.  He’s a fine character just not the same character, and its NOT fine when you put the two together.

2. THEY DID THE 02 KIDS EVEN DIRTIER IM SO BITTER sorry you nostalgia-blind, money-hungry fucks at bandai, but the 02 cast is PART OF THE ADVENTURES UNIVERSE.  The only people who hate 02 are ones who like the characters but hate the mess of the storyline at the end, or are completely irrational and elitist about their love of the digimon series and would greatly re-evaluate their opinions if they watched the original series and 02 back to back.  They couldn’t even show them in some kind of group montage at the end??? Standing in the background when they call Mei???  Why couldn’t they call mei from a home phone also, but that’s a less important problem idc that much.  It was a cute scene besides the lack of 02 characters.  Whatever.  AND THE PROBLEM IS LIKE kari and tk?  This entire time???  Were like “oh they disappeared. oops” instead of being frantically searching for their lost friends???  Like i get tk and kari probably have fucking ptsd and can’t express any emotions because they watched important people die in front of their eyes at an incredibly young age but also 1. they didn’t address the ramifications of ptsd, so fuck that theory/excuse and 2. THAT??? WOULD ONLY MAKE THEM LOOK HARDER??? and put on a brave face as they look, but inside they’re so scared and so worried.  Not just “oh sweet, they were found/saved, theyre in the hospital but that’s fine” like WHAT theyre fucking assholes if that’s what they’d canonically do lmao.  God I am SO bitter over the ENTIRE thing with the 02 kids, it would’ve been BETTER if they were deleted from the fucking canon entirely.  Would I have still been bitter?  Yes.  But at least I wouldn’t be madder at TK and Kari too.

3. I stand 100% by the notion that Digimon is not and will never be cut out to be an adults’ franchise.  It wasn’t designed for adults, and it can’t be skewered towards adults.  These particular characters were designed for kids to relate to and find entertaining.  They do not work when placed into an adult setting.  Like, can you imagine a character like Ed from FMA going to the Digimon world?  I guess in a way that’s just Marcus but like.  Just imagine the FMA cast in Digimon Adventure.  It doesn’t work.  Digimon Tri is basically that except real.  Also Data Squad was darker than Adventure so my joke doesn’t even work.

I guess my primary point is that Tri isn’t mature enough of a setup for an adult audience.  It puts a focus on being “complex” and “philosophical” instead of working within Digimon’s constraints and making something good and adult out of that.  Like!  Digimon is a fucking TOY COMMERCIAL.  Don’t give me messages about the futility of human life.  I want bad puns and emotional characters.  That’s what Digimon has ALWAYS been, and ideally always will be.  Tri could’ve made itself more mature by dealing with the ramifications of the Digital World’s events, how it affected the kids psychologically and dealing with healing old scars.  It would’ve been a more mature take on a story we loved and would use things we loved about the story already - the fact that it took so much time exploring characters’ emotions and was surprisingly mature for the time - to make itself better.  You need to take the aspects that drew adults to the show and amplify them, not just slap on a complex story and unfunny dialogue and be like “oh this is fine, right?”

It’s not that Digimon can’t exist as an adult property, its just that if it repeats what Tri did, it’s got no merit and in my eyes the franchise is dead.  If it survives I guess I’ll be happy that people can still enjoy it but I find it unsustainable and unsatisfying to fans of the older series.  Tri is just a fuckfest of highly specific nostalgia that tries too hard to appeal to old fans without capturing what made the original series so magical, and in part thats because the original series WASN’T FOR ADULTS.  I don’t know about the Digimon Story games, bc they’re T-rated so perhaps they’re a better take on an adult Digimon story than Tri?  But you either need to make your own characters and lore specifically for an adult-oriented Digimon season, or perish.  Also, please make it a series and not a group of movies.  Getting four eps every 6-9 months was hell.

I stand by saying Appmon is a more faithful Digimon season than Tri to Digimon’s original spirit.  I believe it holds more potential for success than Tri and better embodies the spirit of the older Digimon seasons.  It’s dumb, its corny, it has horrible puns, but I LOVE it because it also has a deep dark story and emotional moments.  If you dislike Tri and you agree with things I said that make it unlikeable, I highly recommend giving Appmon a chance - if you watch a few episodes and think “oh yeah, I guess this is decent” you’re going to like it.  It’s everything Digimon has always been and hopefully always will be, just with a different concept.  And hopefully the end of the series doesn’t leave a sour taste in my mouth and I have to redact this statement haha since I’m not done with it yet, but I’ve heard good things about it so I’m hoping not so.

Overall, if you watch Tri, don’t get your hopes up.  It resolves everything okay-ish but it’s a pretty forgettable anime on its own and simply doesn’t work as part of the Digimon franchise.

I am, however, pretty interested in what evil!gennai said at the end about Diaboromon and Daemon.  It raises interesting questions about the timeline too.  We know Daemon is in the dark ocean, so perhaps that’s a hint at a future project?  (They did confirm a future project btw, in conjunction with tri being over)  But what about Diaboromon?  I dont believe that Our War Game (I think thats what its called?) took place after Tri, based on the outfits and ages and stuff, but I also don’t remember the movies that well.  Could Diaboromon still be out there too?  It’s interesting.

However, because of the lackluster performance of Tri, I don’t have my hopes up and I really hope that this “next project” goes in a different direction.  Although I guess if they include the 02 kids, I’ll be somewhat less salty...

Side note, did they ever explain why the gennais went evil?  Like ?  That’s a pretty important thing.  The gennais helped SAVE the human world in 02.  And I get that apparently Tri is ignoring 02′s ending but still.  It’s shitty, because Gennai was still a good guy in the original too (and also they cant just keep is younger look and act like 02 never happened)  MAYBE its something I missed but I dont think so.  God there’s just.  So much wrong with Tri.  I’m very displeased and very bitter and I wanna get back to Appmon asap.

It’s got good moments, its got bad moments, I dont know, I don’t care.  There’s nothing wrong with you if you like it, there’s nothing wrong with you if you don’t, and there’s nothing wrong with you if you flip flop and are split like me.  I just wish Tri fulfilled its potential instead of becoming a boring mess.
