it does not help, but i appreciate you sharing it with me anyway anon <33 thank you for trying to help me feel a little better, genuinely, i really do appreciate it so much!

ugh. ‘his league’s ideals’ aren’t even his own ideals. his entire life has been a lie—was he really a victim of hero society, ever? would he have been a victim of hero society, and especially in the way dabi and toga and twice and spinner were, had he not been given decay? had he been able to completely live out his life normally, without any interference from afo (completely ignoring the fact that, apparently, he wouldn’t even exist without afo and his meddling)?

he’s a fraud. he shouldn’t be the leader of the league. he IS a victim, yes. a victim of a villain, a victim of his abusive father who hated heroes, who is probably more of a victim of hero society than tenko ever would’ve been—so at least there’s that indirect link. but to me, and this is purely my own personal opinion, having decay not be his natural quirk takes so much away from him as a character. i interpreted quirks as a metaphor for undesirable qualities that normal society shuns. as such, having decay be his original, natural quirk, to me, made him a much more fascinating and complex and MESSY character. now he feels one dimensional and boring. all of his ‘decisions’ were tainted by what he thought was true—but none of it actually came from within him, at all, ever. not even a sliver of it. can we even say ‘that was all him’ when we know that the basis for all of those decisions is entirely built on lies and deceit? when literally everything tomura knows, and stands for, and believes, has been built on a lie? when it was all done BECAUSE of the ideals and opinions implanted within him, that don’t have a single hint of truth to them and don’t actually pertain to him or who he would’ve been and what he would’ve suffered at all? i think he genuinely cares for the league, yes. i think he genuinely likes video games, yes. but the reasons and motivating factors behind those decisions are ???????????

i just feel like it would’ve been so much more impactful and sinister for afo to intentionally seek out a child who he KNEW had a quirk that would be shunned and would alienate him from society regardless and then use that trait as a tool to manipulate the child and mold tomura into exactly what he wanted, than to just completely engineer the entire thing from the very start. this single change in detail suddenly alleviates tomura of all responsibility, which makes him feel really flat from a character standpoint. sure, tenko has a great heart or whatever, but i personally am not interested in that. i liked the moral greyness of the league. i liked what they stood for. tomura/tenko having this pure heart within him, or this capacity for a pure heart (ie making these choices to care for and save his little jigsaw of a found family), while also struggling against the shackles society would’ve imposed on him for being born with such a quirk, and the real anger and hatred he would’ve felt because of that, is soooo much more interesting (and relatable!) than tenko just being, what, a decent person? idk.

in other words, none of tomura’s ‘decisions’ hold any weight. obviously, tomura has been groomed and manipulated by afo since he was very young—most of his ideals and opinions were shaped by and influenced by afo. but at least if decay had been his own quirk, there would’ve been a kernel of truth there. that’s all i wanted. just that one kernel of truth.

anyway, sorry i just used your ask to vent and cry about it HAHAHA. i hope i’m explaining myself sufficiently and that my ideas are being expressed adequately and clearly. honestly, i’m having trouble fully articulating myself and why i am so insanely upset over all of this, but in a nutshell these are my thoughts. i feel like i could write an entire essay on why this decision sucks so bad LMAO. sure, his story is tragic. but it also feels really meaningless.

who knows, maybe the manga will make me eat my words, and something great will happen, and i truly hope it does!!! i hope it renders everything i’ve said here completely untrue! but we will see what happens,,,

omg he’s so gorgeous and like the thing about him—at least in my opinion/my own personal interpretation—is that while he is genuinely so sweet (almost sickly so at times!) and so kindhearted and so so tender, he is also so used to being served and so used to being the Boss, the undying’s precious phoenix prince, the king of everything, and it comes out in these tiny little wisps and hints in certain interactions; a vaguely bratty comment, a gentle yet vehement assertion, a soft chuckle beneath a gloved hand……..

I hope this isn’t too terrible. My dad was disabled, so he had a lot of surgeries (maybe one every year or two). Ergo, I’ve had some experience being in hospitals, if not exactly in the position of the patient ヽ(；▽；)ノ It’s been some time tho, so idk, I might still be missing something.

● Midoriya is the type of guy who'll sit in the waiting room the entire time you're under

● He's a little worried about you, but he trusts that you'll make it through okay

● Trust me, he has plenty of experience being in hospitals (stop breaking ur bones >:()

● He'll be right at your bedside as soon as he's allowed to, whether you're awake or not

● As soon as you're awake and he's able to, he'll give you a nice hug (gently). He doesn't care if you're still in bed, he just wants to know you're okay

● He'll spend a lot of time with you while you recover, sitting in the chair by your bed

● Please please tell this boy it's okay for him to talk. He'll tell you everything he knows about heroes for hours and whether you care about what he's saying or not, it's totally worth it just to see the big smile on his face

● Either way, he'll talk to you almost the whole time. He's actually really fun to have a conversation with! You can talk to him about anything and he'll listen

● Will also play board games with you to pass the time, or any kind of small game he can find that you can both do on your bedside table

● He'll get you anything else you might want as well :)

● Once you're discharged, he'll stick around and help you out

● Again, if you need anything, he's got you

● Need someone to cook for you? If he can't do it himself, he'll ask his mom for help (pls, she cooks the best meals and she loves you so much)

● As soon as he's allowed to visit you, he's there

● He'll come in quietly, scowling at the floor

● He has a bag with him that's got a container of food in it. He put a lot of effort into making it just for you, just the way you like, but it's likely he'll brush it off and claim it's leftovers

● Katsuki isn't exactly the best hospital buddy, but he'll try

● The thing is, he's not very talkative. He refuses to leave your room for too long, but he's more the type to just sit in the chair by the window (probably looking at his phone)

● You may think he's not paying you any attention, but he's spending time reading up on what condition you're in and how to make sure you recover properly

● He's there if you need him

●Will yell at the nurse / doctor if they're not taking care of you right

● Makes a comment at least once about how much he hates the smell (it's not you, it's the general hospital smell)

● Tries his best to cook for you as often as he can so you don't have to eat the hospital food there (might even give up trying to brush off how much he does for you)

● Gets you anything you need when you ask. As I said, he's not keen on leaving you in your room by yourself, but he won't say anything if you ask for something

● When it's time for you to go home, he'll just get even more clingy

● But not necessarily affectionate, oh no

● He was there when the doctor gave you guidelines for what to do during your recovery period, and he did his research

● You're not getting out of following it to the letter

● If you're supposed to stay in bed and rest, he'll make sure you're not getting up unless you absolutely have to. Also he'll do any kind of heavy lifting for you, just to be safe (and it’s totally not a bonus chance to lowkey show off how strong he is)

● If you need to incorporate more activity into your day, he'll be at your side. It's like a little date, taking a nice slow walk in the park

● He's also keeping tabs on how much water you're drinking. He always encourages you to drink plenty of water, but now he's even more on top of his game to remind you

● He'll also remind you to take your meds (aggressively but with love) :)

● And he'll drive you to your follow up visits with your doctor

● Bakugou will encourage you the best way he knows. He may come off harsh at times, but he just wants your healing process to go as smoothly as possible. He's not good with feelings and stuff, but this is how he shows you he cares

● Another sweet boi

● He knows what it's like to visit people in the hospital (ahem, his mom), so it wouldn't be too weird for him (not that it’s all that weird for any of them)

● He'd come and see you every day, and he'll bring you a little something each time, whether it's a snack, some flowers, a game or coloring book he thought you'd like, or even a little stuffed bear (or whatever your favorite animal is)

● His visits can be weirdly short though? Like, he doesn't know what to say, so he kind of just . . . leaves? Like wait come back

● He likes it when he can get you talking. He's not much of a talker himself, so it's easier if you can lead conversations

● But if you want him to, he will just keep you company in silence

● Master at staring off into space for long periods of time

● But every time he looks over at you, he gets this soft smile on his face and he's so cute

● He's trying his best

● He'll also help remind you of things when you're back home

● He's not the best at cooking, so he'll order you anything you want and eat it with you

● I'll state the obligatory "he provides that hot/cold treatment for any pain you might have" because he does and it works

● He'll go out with you to walk around, and just generally get you back into living your life

● Yeah, he's just really glad to see that you're healthy and he’s happy to help you out so your recovery is quick and easy

● Not gonna lie, he was a little nervous while you were having the surgery

● Not too bad, just some pacing around the waiting room, but he feels so much better once everything's over with

● Big on sitting next to your hospital bed and just holding your hand the whole time he's visiting

● Hates checking in every day (because ew, people, and also ew, walking through strange halls full of people and equipment and the lighting is funky and everything smells like hand sanitizer and—)

● But he does it for you, because you're the most important thing to him 🥺

● Oh, and he also gets really really quiet whenever the nurse comes in to check up on you and just kind of pretends like he doesn't exist for a moment while they do their thing

● He'll do something where he gets himself a boxed lunch or takeout and eat with you in your room at meal times

● Honestly though, he'll be happy when you're finally able to go back home

● He's a very sweet and doting boyfriend, and he'll make sure you're getting everything you need

(coming from an athlete with an oily eyelids so dw i gotchu covered) a personal fav of mine teehee, ranked #1 in my bag.

it's real! benefit: this mascara is so so good at lengthening and giving off that natural look, which i think yachi would appreciate because she doesn't like too much attention and it's natural so she can sneak this by her mom nope def not speaking from experience it's really great for beginners, and also very reliable and trustworthy. this lil thing will get the job done, guranteed.

better than sex by too faced: this mascara just screams I N T E N S I T Y. it's super voluminizing and gives off the appearance of a fuller lash. on the more dry/creamy side so it's super great for beginners or if ur really hungover. also it's v v reliable, will give you wispy lashes every time! my go to when im late which is everyday but we don't talk about that

michimiya yui

bad gal bang! by benefit: another really natural one, good at separating, very VERY lengthening. dramatic enough so that it'll make you look more awake but still not enough to get daichi's attention rip.  but this shi!t will stay all day until you take it off. a little more liquidy so you get some time to fix any lashes that are stuck together. also, thin wand so great for bottom lashes as well! 10/10, very much recommend.

waterproof lights camera lashes by tarte: i feel like she's the type to be drinking her water but then when she puts it down too quickly the water just splashes right back in her face?? LMAO or does this only happen to me, but she needs her mascara to be waterproof! also bc of all the steam from the yummy food contests she's conquering! anyways the queen deserves the whole spotlight so she gets the beloved lcl by tarte! the wand is pretty thin but don't let that fool you, because this wand is so good at lengthening and separating lashes. really good at holding curls.

lash sensational from loreal: pls give this poor girl a break i cant even imagine running around the fukurodani team with bokuto's antics, they've definitely broken into her bags more than once and messed up her stuff. so she had to get the cheap drugstore mascara just in case </3 but its okay because this is one of my top 3, the consistency is really good and the wand is so amazing gahh, it has like different combs on different sides so if you have that one pesky pair of lash that just sticks together it'll be super easy to fix. perfect for on the go

misaki hana

kush mascara by milk makeup: you can't convince me that this girl isn't exhausted from the antics of johzenji, which makes this mascara perfect for her! the consistency is on the creamy/dry side so a couple quick swipes will get you the full lash. plus it's infused w some cannabis oil so it makes ur lash healthier (but terushima will definitely try to do some experiments w this so please hana guard it safely)

amanai kanoka

lash next door by brooklyn and bailey: ok ok so my fav thing about this mascara is that it's not waterproof so it's easy to take off, but it's water resistant so that it won't come off when you're all sweaty!! literally perfect for intense practices, and the wand is similar to lcm by tarte so they wield pretty similar results; sweet, curled, lengthened lashes!! and DOES NOT FLAKE it's literally a life saver

alisa haiba

liquid lash extensions by thrive: this mascara definitely the one i use the most! It’s unique in the sense that it’s a tubing mascara, so it’s water resistant which is great for alisa because she keeps tearing up every time lev messes up a serve (we stan a responsible sis) BUT it’s also very easily removed! just splash some warm water and the mascara literally slides right off im not even kidding. she definitely takes really good care of her appearance and will be sad even if she sees one eyelash fall so this is really great for her bc waterproof mascara is such a pain in the ass to remove. also very lengthening

yamaka mika 

lash multiplier by revlon: mika is a baddie!! but daishou makes her cry so much she has to rebuy a tube like every month. so our lovely mika gets something easy, cheap, and has a good effect for puppy eyes. this mascara is just like the liquid lash extension; a tubing mascara,,,HOWEVER this one is WAY CHEAPER. u can def find this at ur local drugstore for like 6-8 bucks. great for on the go since it's easy to apply super fast, will get u a nice full fringe in like 3 swipes.

nametsu mai

damn girl! by too faced: how could i forget our beloved date tech manager,,,mai is def the scariest on date tech and she will let you know!!! this mascara is essentially a sequel to better than sex; your lashes will be bigger, fuller, and more glamorous! also the formula is literally so light it's like whipped cream,,, you will not feel a thing guranteed. it's like extensions but m a g i c

after being scolded by yukie for not getting dinner on time, the boys of the 3rd gym strolled through the dimly lit hallway on the way to the cafeteria. "yo, you know, i heard the girls bathrooms have couches or whatever," kuroo said, noticing the girl's bathroom as they walked past it. 

"what! thats not fair!" bokuto whined. "how come the girl's stuff are always nicer? the boy's bathroom always just stinks, and there's always pee on the ground for some reason. like why can't you just aim? it's not that hard." 

"well, im sure for short people, like maybe yaku-san or shoyo it's easy. but it's hard to aim when you're very tall!" lev explained brightly. in the onsen somewhere, morisuke yaku felt shivers go up his spine and a sudden urge to punch someone.

"lev, are u sure ur not the one peeing the floor? c'mon, man this is why we don't get nice things in our bathrooms!" kuroo groaned, flicking the first year’s forehead.

"well, it's just a rumor," akaashi explained, lifting the hem of his shirt to wipe off the sweat on his face. "there might not be a couch in the girl's bathroom."

"why don't you go find out?" tsukki taunted with a devilish grin on his face. 

"i don't think this is a good idea," akaashi remarked, albeit a bit too late as hinata, kuroo, lev, and bokuto already sprinted down the hallway. 

"aww, no couch" bokuto disappointedly wailed when he stepped into the girl's bathroom. 

"well, this is a school bathroom after all," kuroo admitted as he flipped on the light switch. the bathroom was cleaner than the boy’s, for sure, but after all the outrageous tales they had expected to find at least a little something out of the ordinary.

"hey, what's this?" hinata was pointing to a bright pink makeup bag that was lying open on the counter.

"ooh, one of the managers must’ve left it behind! whose bag is this, is there a name on it?" lev rushed over to the bag and turned it upside down. dozens of colorful tubes and compacts fell out, splayed across the counter.

"whats this tube?" hinata asked, holding up a metallic pink tube.

"well, what does it say on the tube, dumbass?" tsukki smirked from the door frame he was leaning on. akaashi hesitantly stood behind him, questioning if entering the girl’s bathroom was a good decision. 

"better..than sex!" hinata read aloud, a bit louder than he had intended to. everyone froze, and stared at the little pink tube.

"wait what the fu- hold up lemme see that," kuroo aggressively grabbed the tube from hinata's hands and twisted it open

"oh it's just macasara," bokuto said. they shouldn’t have been surprised, considering it did come out of a makeup bag.

"do you think the name is true?" kuroo was actually curious about this. is the little pink tube of innocent looking mascara the reason that girls were refusing to go out with him?

"let's see," bokuto snatched the tube out of kuroo's hand and started swiping on the pigment on his lashes, his mouth agape and head tilted back as he intently stared at his reflection in the mirror.

"it's been 10 minutes since we called the boys, should we check up on them?" yachi said nervously. the other girls turned and looked as if she had just made a revelation. "you're right, bokuto always sprints up for dinner and he looked pretty eager when we gave him his notice," kaori said nervously. "and everyone knows that the nekoma boys shouldn't be left alone, they're chaotic," shirufuku remarked. "that's so true...lets go find them," the rest of the managers agreed, taking off their aprons and stepping out of the cafeteria.

however, they heard the boisterous laughs a floor away. cautiously, kiyoko led the group down the stairs and followed the sound. imagine their surprise when they found the noise coming from inside the girl's bathroom. 

"um, we're the only girls here…" yachi whispered. they crept up closer and closer until they were right outside. kiyoko put her finger to her lips and motioned for the girls to line up against the wall just in case. "okay, we'll open the door in 3…" she put her hand on the knob. "2…" it seemed like time was in slow motion as everyone's heart pounded loudly. "1!"

kuroo and hinata have mascara on their eyebrows, streaks of black pigment under their eyes and all over their cheeks like some kind of war paint. akaashi is holding an eyelash curler, trying to curl bokuto's eyelashes all the while bokuto is smacking akaashi's hand away.

"it looks like a torture device!" he cried.

"bokuto-san, it's suppose the enhance the lengthening effect,"

lev is trying to give himself a mustache by swiping on hair-like strokes with the mascara wand, and ever the opportunist, tsukki is in the corner, taking blackmail pictures

"oh, hi!. . . girls" hinata trailed off when he saw the horrified managers through the mirror. every face in the room paled white as a sheet.

"wait how do i take this off, it's not coming off with water!!" bokuto wailed, slumping against the sink

“I don’t knowww, but as I was trying to get up earlier, I just felt so uncomfortable and sick. My throat still feels funny and uncomfortable and my head feels like spinning around” :(( 

he caresses your cheek lovingly with his soft delicate fingers,“let me fix it” and then proceed to leave a short but yet still meaningful and sweet kiss on your lips  

you tried to avoid from him kissing you, “heyy you’re gonna get sick!” but it was too late haha 

he laughs and smooches you all over your face like crazy, “it’s okay as long as we get sick together” 

you tried to act like you’re vomiting after what he just said and chuckled softly 

“I’ll be right back, princess. I’m cooking you something since you’re sick and I’ll get some of the medicines for you from the box outside, yeah?” he said as he got up from the bed and smiled at you 

“but babeeee, don’t leaveeee meee” you said, trying to pull his arms and stopping him from leaving the room

“babyy, but you need to eat and I need  to take care of you” he cooed 

“but take me outside with you too, I’m gonna be bored here all alone” crossing your arms as you sit and cooed back

while he’s doing his thing cooking at the kitchen, he would look over to check on you and what you’re up to 

 he noticed there wasn’t any blanket on the couch you’re resting on so he went back to his room and got you his fuzzy blanket in case you suddenly got cold 

“hey baby, fevers can cause you to either feel really hot or cold. so, in case if you suddenly feel cold, wrap yourself using this fuzzy blanket, okay?” caressing your hair as he walked over to you to give you the blanket 

you smiled looking at him and nodded, “thank you, love. what are you cooking? It smells so good already I’m hungry dude” 

“I’m cooking...something special for us! It’s a surprise hehe” he grins cutely, like a child (isn’t he cute ugh) 

after he’s done with the cooking, both of you finally got to eat yayyyy 

sitting on the kitchen counter area facing each other, adoring each other’s presence as both of you were enjoying the meals he cooked for you and him

Fionn was sitting in his london flat watching a movie to cope with jetlag when his phone went off. He wasn’t sure who could be calling since it was almost 3:00am so he was quite surprised to read the caller ID out as your name. 

“Hello?” “Fionny!” your loud voice made him jump in his bed a bit, and he held his phone a little farther away from his ear before speaking, “Is everything alright, Y/N? Why are ye calling me at this hour?” “Ya know Fionn, I miss you, I really do and I wish you were here with me because I want another drink and no one will get me one but you always do!” Your rambling led Fionn to the realization that you were drunk in a bar somewhere, and it was quite obvious you wouldn’t be able to make it home.

“Y/N where are you?” Fionn asked, sitting up in his bed and pausing the tv. He kept his phone balanced on his shoulder as he listened to you ramble on about the poor service at the bar, as he hurriedly put on some sweats and a jumper. He repeated his question as he grabbed his keys and wallet before repeating the question. “I don’t know Fionn, some guy is asking me to go with him and he has a beard, you know I’ve always wanted to touch one..” Fionn’s heart sank as he immediately rushed out the door with his shoes half on and made his way to his car. “Jesus, Y/N love, please tell me where you are.” “Umm I think the bar near mine?” “I need you to stay where you are please, and if the guy doesn’t leave you alone go to the loo or something, just please don’t leave with him. I’m coming to get you okay? Stay there Y/N,” And with that, Fionn drove off to where you were as fast as he could.

Fionn pulled up in front of the bar to see you in front of it, repeatedly slapping your phone against your hand, as if to be looking for batteries, and sure enough he saw a bearded guy next to you, saying something but you clearly weren’t listening. As Fionn made his way over to you both he could make out parts of what the man was saying, “C’mon lass it’ll be fun, just come with me.” And before he could grab your arm, you locked eyes with Fionn.

“Fionny baby! You’re here!” You squealed and stumbled over to him, wrapping your arms lazily around his neck. You turned back to the bearded man, “Sorry, I have to go with my handsome Fionny but I like your beard!” You giggled as you turned back to Fionn who was feeling very relieved he got to you in time, and was finding your behavior very amusing. “C’mon, let’s get you home.”

After a lot of struggling Fionn finally managed to get you into the car safely, but the struggling didn’t end there. You had fallen asleep immediately after you got into the back seat, however when you arrived at his apartment parking lot, you were wide awake. Fionn opened the door and tried to get you out but instead he was pulled in by the collar of his jumper, and fell on top of you. The boy was immediately very flustered, and tried to move but your wrapped your legs around him. “There was a lot of room for me to sleep comfortably, I think theres enough space to do something else right Fionn?”

Fionn gulped as your batted your eyelashes, and he so desperately wanted to kiss you right then and there but he didn’t want to take advantage of you just because of the crush he’s had on you since the day you met. He awkwardly chuckled before pushing himself off of you, and you sat up with him. He tried to move away from the door, but you trapped him there by wrapping your legs around his waist, “C’mon Fionny, you may not have a beard but you have something else I wouldn’t mind touching” you winked at the end with a giggle, enjoying the teasing. Fionn froze at your statement and before he knew it, your fingers were underneath his jumper and shirt, trailing your fingers up his bare skin. “Fucking hell Y/N” he exhaled, breathing heavily.

Fionn quickly snapped out of his daze and pried himself away from you and quickly helped you out the car before locking it, and walking ahead of you into the apartment, with you closely following behind. At this point you weren’t drunk, but you weren’t sober. However you knew what you were doing. Fionn may have been your best friend, but you had feelings for him, both sexually and romantically, and the liquid courage from earlier was helping you act upon these feelings. You couldn’t lie, it turned you on immensely seeing his adam’s apple bob up and down as he licked his lips while listening to your words and responding to your more than straightforward actions. You knew that he was interested too, however Fionn was too sweet to do anything.

Once inside, Fionn made his way to the kitchen to get you some water. He looked behind him and shyly said, “Sit anywhere you like” and you cheekily responded, “how about you sit me on these counters and do whatever you like?” At this point, Fionn had lost all control, he was sweating as he was picturing the words you had just uttered. He had to rest his arms on the fridge handle to gain his composure before turning back to you and handing you the water. You drank down some of it before looking at Fionn, “Finish the whole cup Y/N, you’ll get dehydrated if you don’t.” 

Fionn spoke without eye contact, still shaken up from all of your teasing remarks throughout the night. He knew you were drunk, but surely by now you were sober enough to know and mean what you were saying? Nonetheless, Fionn wasn’t going to make a move, it was too risky. As if you read his mind, you took a few steps toward him, “I don’t want water Fionn, I want you.” Fionn looked down at you, eyes dark and hooded with lust, and he leaned with his hands behind his bum on the counter behind him, restraining himself from you. It was quite a difficult task, considering you still had your bar outfit on, and your hair was tousled from the car ride. 

You moved your hands underneath his shirt again, dragging your finger down from the top of his abs to the waistband of his boxers, smiling to yourself when you noticed Fionn taking deep breaths with his eyes closed. You tugged on the jumper, and almost had it over is head before Fionn realized what was going on and grabbed your hands. “No, no, not now love.” “Why not? Do you not want me Fionn?” He let out an exasperated sigh, “Of course I do, Y/N, I just don’t want you to regret this love.” “Nothing would make me regret this, I want you Fionn.” 

He looked into your eyes, and he knew it was you talking, not the alcohol. “You want me?” he whispered. You nodded, “100 percent” and with that Fionn crashed his lips onto yours. You immediately reacted, tilting your head in order to deepen the kiss. Fionn let go of your hands and instead reached for your hips, giving them a light squeeze. You slightly grinded into Fionn’s body that was pressed up against the counter, feeling him tense. You pulled away and kissed from behinds his ear, down to his collarbone and he let out a low groan at your actions. He kissed you once again roughly before grabbing underneath your thighs and lifting you, and making his way to the bedroom.

It was safe to say you were thankful for your drunk confidence when you woke up next to Fionn’s bare body and soft snores the morning after.
