PRIVATE SYSTEM SERVER.

Hello. As a show of my ability, I have created a private system server template for you to use. While "private" is in the name, I have included two access roles (Friend and Trusted Friend)—however I have not done any permissions for them. There is a Bot role that has permissions for them, like access to the System Setup category.

And, like the last template, only traumagenic systems can interact with this blog and use my templates. Endogenic systems and their supporters get blocked.

Note that not every single channel is in this gif, just the ones I deemed the most important to show.

Use the template here, however do note that the announcement channel and all of the forums channels will not copy over, and you will have to add them yourself: Private System Server Template

I am okay with you editing my template for your own use. Do not redistribute as your own.

All forum channels are marked with a speech bubble emoji 💬 in front of them; those are channels that you will miss. The single announcement channel that also will be missing is marked with a mega emoji 📢.

#welcome - When someone joins the server, they will not see any channels, and you must give them a role so they can access this the server. You can see their welcome message here so you know someone's joined.

Text channels:

#bot - This is the only channel that has "Use application commands" permissions on it. If you would like to set it on other channels, you'd have to do it manually—or you can add it to the @​everyone tag.

💬 dms - In the title, I put "[DM/GC] Channel name" under the post, then write the participants. I have a tag system for this channel (see below).

💬 thoughts - Headmates' thinking time. I also have a tag system for this channel (see below).

💬 mailbox - Essentially, I create a channel with a headmate's name and there are two tags: Read and Unread. Read means they've read the messages people leave for them, and Unread means they have yet to read them. It's a simple way to communicate with headmates who are not fronting.

System Setup:

All servers here are unable to be chatted in; only any member with the Bot role can do that. I enjoy setting up my PluralKit work into a few separate categories:

#resources - Easy access to Simply Plural, Notion, Evernote, or various places I get PNGs to set up PluralKit profiles—things of that nature and related to it.

#pk-setup - For descriptions and things.

#pk-pfps (not in gif) - To add profile pictures and banners. I put it in its own space because it's a different type of spam, image-based spam, than pk-setup, which is mostly text-based spam.

#new-arrivals - For showing people who made their PluralKit account, mainly for documentation.

#pk-spam - Just general things that don't quite relate to the ones above; typically things like pk;r.

💬 image-resources - If you change your icons or banners a lot, this can help. I put icons/banners here with credits to the original artist, the original art, and the edited version we use in our profiles. It's tagged by Icon, Faceclaim, Banners, etc.

#pk-log (hidden, not in gif) - To store PluralKit messages. If you also would like, you can add a more general moderation bot (such as Carl-bot) to also store non-PK messages.

General Guide 2:

"How to be Accessible in Plural Resources?"

For this Guide, we'll be talking about organizing your Simply plural, Pluralkit, or any other bio information, along with member information, and being accessible when using aesthetic symbols to make borders, or even aesthetic fonts to make things look pretty.

Very often systems forget about accessibility when it comes to making their information readable and understandable, and while some people might find it difficult or might clash with their visual wants, this clashes extremely harshly for systems and singlets who use screen readers if they're visually impaired, or have visual processing issues. We personally use a screen reader nearly 80% of the time, while it has to be activated. That's for really long paragraphs (like they take up the entire screen or almost half of it) or even just a small 3-4 sentences can be a bit of a challenge for us to stick to reading.

Below is a miniature list on how this guide will be formatted

What is considered inaccessible for screen readers and what would be considered visually cluttered?

Why are these aesthetic symbols so unreadable with screen readers? Why is it important to make my members/information accessible?

What are good alternatives to making my information readable, while also getting my aesthetic wants fulfilled?

"What is considered inaccessible for screen readers and what would be considered visually cluttered?"

There are specific things that can be visually cluttered, as well as inaccessible to a screen reader.

While in some cases it can be one of the same, something visually very cluttered can usually be very non screenreader friendly.

Something being extremely visually cluttered can look like a bunch of random symbols back to back, especially symbols that don't match each other or aren't helping create balance. It's hard to give a good example without actively using other people's templates that might seem cluttered. But it's generally a good practice within using symbols, small amounts are good, large amounts are only if you're able to balance it out appropriately with the text, and with other information. If anyone reading this has a more straightforward example of crowded and cluttered templates and uses of aesthetic symbols do share!

Another area of something being too cluttered is walls and walls of text. And no punctuation. Having hard stops, soft stops or just generally using any punctuation can make your text and Information go from hard to comprehend and even read, to easy to understand. As well as helping out screenreaders read something out loud and speak relatively naturally.

Now, within this, let's talk about screenreaders and how they aren't able to process aesthetic fonts and such. Some are, but this is an example of what some Aesthetics sound depending on your screenreader/voiceover. For our screenreader for Android, ours skips over and doesn't even read some fonts, and or can't even find the actual text.

"Why are these aesthetic symbols so unreadable with screen readers? Why is it important to make my members/information accessible?"

Generally, some of these symbols and fonts are generally either unreadable and the screenreader doesn't even see text, or, they're extremely readable to where it reads all the symbols' independent properties. For our screenreader, a lot of symbols are simple, but with a lot of templates, they use the same repeat symbols, which visually it is very nice, but hearing: "Flower dark symbol This is our page flower dark symbol. Downward right curved arrow age - 18 downward right curved arrow gender - female..."

And so on, meanwhile it looks like this:

It's generally important to recognize if you're on the Internet, people who use screenreaders will interact with your content or even if you're friends with a lot of people or acquaintances, screenreaders are important! Especially when trying to convey certain important information that you yourself might deem important. Having your member information on generally any site you use accessible to at least being understood is important. Alt text is something not established on certain platforms but you can still add your own version of alt text (alternative text), especially for pictures and videos.

For us, the amount of friends we have on Simply Plural that use aesthetics is plenty, but some of their aesthetics can be impossible to be read by the screenreader we use, or just generally impossible to read visually. Where letters are curved or shaped and manipulated in such a way it's difficult to read. This is between reading a member's name, vs. reading their extremely important interaction status.

"What are good alternatives to making my information readable, while also getting my aesthetic wants fulfilled?"

A good starting place is to seek out aesthetic symbols that are not language based! This means not using な, or even other symbols from other languages as "cute marks". Here's a good place to find a bunch of assorted non-language based symbols!

Other good things to do when creating templates, or anything with aesthetic like symbols or fonts:

Practice in a notes section or private areas and create a practice template with your desired symbols. Try to remember if possible less is better depending on your needs!

Try activating your primary or even other devices screenreader/voice over! Have it read aloud your text/template to you. Try it on multiple devices or even ask others online to use their screenreader to read it, see how it reads the template.

Practice understanding accessibility devices relating to how the Internet works. Like alt text for images and videos. The amount of times we've been so sad when our favorite type of comic doesn't add alt text to their images..

Try to think ahead of what you want to say or explain, type exclusively and don't rush it!

Ask questions! Be open to answers! If you ask if something is accessible to someone or multiple people, and majority say no, process it and make it more accessible!

"Why should I use other devices?": Because not all screenreaders read the same! Some fully read everything including punctuation, some can't read certain symbols correctly like € or ≈. Not all screenreaders will read exactly how our phone reads, and not all screenreaders will read exactly like your computer might.

While we feel like we could have done better on this guide, we truly wanted to at least get a conversation started in some way! At least on our page. We definitely covered what we truly wanted to, which was the inaccessible nature of aesthetic symbols and fonts and screenreaders. INTROJECT CHAOS!!! is a server created by Bad on June 07, 2023. The creation of INTROJECT CHAOS!!! was following a previous server's shutdown, with the same goal of providing a safe space for introjects from problematic sources. Of course, systems without introjects from problematic sources can join—but the number one priority is that introjects must be respected equally.

Bad has previous experience with creating many servers for introjects from individual problematic sources (such as Dream SMP or South Park); this is the first time he created a server for introjects of problematic sources. He has used his past experiences being an admin of the previous safe-space server, and being discriminated against for his sources as an introject, to shape this server. Bad is also typing in third-person right now and looks like an idiot in front of his stupid little keyboard with his tiny gay hands.

Some things you can expect in our server:

Cool staff - Staff, 2023

Sensible rules. We're all adults and we can regulate how we conduct ourselves in a public environment without having to constantly read the rules. We are also anti-endogenic and anti-proship.

A very easy-to-navigate server, courtesy of BIG DADDY. There are sixteen viewable channels for talking in various subjects; plenty less than most public syscord spaces (no hate to them).

A rule against fonts and typing quirks that replace letters with symbols. This is part of our attempt to make the server screenreader friendly.

NSFW, substances (locked to 18+ headmates only), and vent channels, each with their own ruleset to preserve the sanity of everyone. They're also hidden behind roles.

A category for introjects—including source search, faceclaims, memories and more! Introjects with non-problematic sources allowed.

A channel for friend search (because making friends as an adult is hard.)

Template channels to make your PluralKit shine (such as displayname, pronouns, description, et cetera)

We have ticketing system, which is a mandatory part of our verification. You have to verify within 72 hours (3 days) before we kick you.

We also have "contact staff" tickets, allowing members to talk about their concerns or ask questions directly to staff without it being public.

As part of our safety promise to you, we will delete personally-identifying information (such as system/alter intros and source lists) when you leave the server. We do these checks regularly, so you don't need to notify us when you leave.

We try our best to listen to the community that we have. Occasionally, we make surveys that our members fill out to determine what content they would like from the server, and then we gauge their response to it in future surveys.

Heya! if you don't mind me asking, what is it like in your ultrakill discord server? I'm mostly wondering about its set up and atmosphere, but I'm all ears if you have anything else you'd like to mention lol

I've been looking to find more people to talk about the game with, but joining discord servers make me a bit nervous, you know?

First of all, I'm flattered you're thinking about joining our server (join link here if you need it) and I appreciate your inquiry about its insides! :D I'm sorry that this became such a long response, but I hope it gives you some peace of mind either way xD

We're currently two mods if you include me as the admin, with @cogsanity being the other, and ca 85 people total.

In terms of setup, I've designed the categories roughly after the layers of hell within the game, although the channels within don't necessarily all reflect that lol. It's more for easier sorting and visual distinction really.

Limbo is more for moderation, organization and information.

You can read up on the rules, assign yourself some roles via a reaction-roles system, write an optional introduction with the pinned template in #terminal-entries, see any announcements me or Shin make (dw we rarely ever ping @everyone unless it's dire or important, tho I also just generally use it to log changes made to the channel structures) and ask us mods if anything's unclear :3

Then we have two gen channels with some fun extra channels to dump photos and pet related things in...

...and two main art channels (a lot of us are artists), as well as extra channels for headcanons, brainstorming, AUs, OCs, off topic infodumping and memes/spam as well as a spoiler channel for screenshot saturdays hype and whenever act III may release, so that people can catch up in their own time without getting spoiled prematurely :3

Oh! And we also of course have a channel for bragging abt your high scores in and another to ask for gameplay help from more experienced players!

We have carl-bot for reaction-roles and PluralKit for systems, and while we technically also have a music bot, the one we have rn is kind of a bitch to get working the way I need it to so I'm probably going to replace that one soon, until then it's functionally not really count-able lmao.

We allow a certain amount of sex jokes for the most part (with the deliberate exception that they are never to be directed at other members) since this is a 16+ ultrakill server - however actually explicit content (i.e. memes, writing, artworks) are to be kept to their own secluded section that an access role has to be given manually for and is only given to people that are 18+. We strictly moderate in this regard to ensure it's a safe and comfortable space for everyone.

In terms of atmosphere we're all very neurodivergent and very queer :'DD some very chatty folks, some more quiet ones, lots of good jokes and an overall pretty easygoing and respectful air.

We are strictly against any and all forms of discriminatory and phobic behavior and try to encourage mutually supportive creativity.

Here's our current lineup of emotes^ (the drones spin, one slower, one faster and the sideways v1 and v2 are doing patty cakes), all of which are credited in a pinned message on-server within the emote suggestions channel.

We have an event planned for november (we're setting up a pool of server banner designs made by the members that we're then picking every month via randomizer to be the server banner for the next 30 days) and are currently cooking up another event for around christmas as well >:3.

We also have a minecraft realm with extra channels for that purpose (locked behind a self-assign role just so it's not visible and bothersome to people that have no interest in it) and try to do somewhat weekly activities such as gartic phone, magma and I've also heard talks of a karaoke night being attempted soon, as well as some jackbox and cards against humanity being considered some time :D

Since this server is a very chatty one that loves hanging out en masse in vc, we've set up 5 main voice channels:

one for specifically art streams

one for game streams (or really streams in general, we often have some artists stream art on the side while another streams gameplay lmao)

one for just talking

one for activities like gartic phone

and because people tend to get overwhelmed with more than 5 people in vc, we also have a limited capacity vc for those that prefer a calmer hangout spot :3.

There might be more added in the future depending on activity and demand tho.

As a frame of reference, when we did the gartic phone session last weekend, we were ca 16 people in vc, and we only lasted about 3 rounds before everyone got a headache from overstimulation and needed to log off or split up into the campfire vc lmfao.

I'm surprised that one went as well as it did though, since it was very chaotic but still in a very controlled and fun way. VC sessions rarely get that big anyways, but I'm very glad that when they do, it's not pure, unadulterated, deafening chaos and that the means we've provided for self-managing your needs do get used as intended :').

Also just as a sidenote, there's a lot of users on there that are also floating around the main Ultrakill tag frequently, so I'm sure you'll recognize a few familiar faces if you do decide to join :3.
