Podcast update: Alright guys, I've been avoiding making this update, but I'm very close to giving up here. Sorry, I did so many recordings trying to pull something together but I might just not be able to make a podcast. A whump podcast could be so cool, I really wanted it to work. I'm going to keep trying but I understand if you guys are disappointed and don't want to wait around when it might not happen.

I love that people miss our podcast! Sadly, I can't really say anything new about it. We don't forget about it, we just have a hard time prioritizing it. I hope it'll happen soon, but it really just depends on what comes our way. We have different social obligations the next couple of weekends so I know it won't be super soon, but maybe we'll find a free weekend in late July? Really just depends on how life goes. We have a lot of catching up to do, so the first episode or two are particularly daunting but once we find the time and mental energy to get one or two episodes in I think we'll find it easier to make new ones after that.

Remember when we said we hoped to have our Beast With A Million Eyes episode out by today? Well…we’re going to have to take another rain-check. But we’ll let you all know when we’re out of the production trenches!

On the Rocks Cinematic Universe Update: Fandom on the Rocks

Hello, pals. We've got a lengthy and exciting update for you. We're super excited to announce that Glee on the Rocks (and Supernatural on the Rocks) will be undertaking a rebranding. Welcome now to Fandom on the Rocks. This will become your one stop shop for our expanding podcast network about all of the things we love. Why are we doing this? Because it's hard to maintain multiple social media accounts and we just don't have time for that. Updates for our current and upcoming (!!) projects will be consolidated here on this feed, where we will roll out new branding.

So What's Next?

We're going to be rolling this out across our social channels and figuring out how best to switch the branding over. Given the limitations, we're likely to be changing the name of our Glee on the Rocks channels to Fandom on the Rocks and posting all updates to that one source.

For instance, if you listen to us on Spotify, Glee on the Rocks will become Fandom on the Rocks, and both Glee and SPN on the Rocks will be posted to that one feed.  Each show will have it's own podcast cover art to help distinguish them and maintain their unique appeal. (At least this is what we want to know - there are RSS issues at hand...)

Apple Podcasts has thankfully read our minds and rolled out Podcast Channels for us (and, you know, everyone else).  You can find the Fandom of the Rocks Channel here, featuring GotR and SPNotR already. This is what we hope other podcast streamers will do; it's so much more convenient for everyone.

We have decided that we really don't like how modern Starwars is going. (With the characterization of the new republic era in current cannon.) Additionally, We like the concept of a new 'legends cannon' where we collect stories we enjoy to all exist in the same continuity, but we don't think it's worth it given how trigger happy Disney is with copyright and the fact that us asking for commissions or if we set up a patron for the podcast. Could be considered breaking 'fair use'.

We have decided to make our own sci-fi universe. It's inspired by star wars and many of the stories we love still fit in it. But fundamentally a lot of things function differently (i.e. jedi equivalency doesn't have telekinesis. And the force equivalency has much more cosmic horror flavorings making the jedi much more space warlocks?)

This also frees us up to write stories that fundamentally change the status quo of the galaxcy. (I.e. building on our droid story to create a movement towards actual droid rights and respect that changes how droids are treated in the galaxcy and playing with galactic tensions around this in the wake of the clone wars.)

This is a long way of saying our droid story is getting transitioned over to this new universe and what would have been sw fanfiction will now be in this universe.
