we went to the park and it was fun

The park is right by the bay and deeply forested. Its shadows cooled my sweat. In the distance, Beyond the bay shore’s waves I see a sand dune. I don’t dream of swimming there, But I do wish I had a jetski rn. To reach an island. Further in the horizon. .

You might also find that you have forgotten how to speak. That pleases me. I felt alone until there was proof. I stun you too. We were both surprised it was I who managed to keep my cool. Peeled my gaze with you away, but still I laid. Within your grasp, I stayed.

I innocently listened; you’d aimlessly hum lines of tunes that continuously flowed into our atmosphere. This was the only thing that calmed me down...then my thighs felt protected in your hands. And the way you disciplined my hips made my entire body sigh. Caressed my aura—climbed up my main meridian. I felt you at my heart. The music swelled around me. I tried to swallow back my words but my soul took over my body. Moved MY very own lips. Relaxed, my mind saw what was coming. I tried to stop it. I whimpered, “I’m...so...in...love”.

So ends #twtprompts week, I'm actually surprised by how much I enjoyed quickly typing out short verse everyday on my phone, it's been a fun excercise and I'm so humbled by the response. I have always considered myself to be a good writer but not a poet (because I don't write fancy fancy poems like Yeats, Angelou, Neruda or Poe) To everyone who has liked, commented and reposted, you have given me so much. You've made me brave with my writing, a kind of devil-may-care-but-I-dont attitude. I try to write as simply as possible because I don't want someone to have to open a dictionary to understand what I'm trying to say. PS Growing up I absolutely loved poetry and you guessed it I had a lot of Poetry and Literature teachers who absolutely despised me and thought I had no talent and my interpretation of poems was just complete incorrect.
