I haven’t really had the time recently to do specific shading on characters, but, on the bright side, I’ve been able to experiment with overlay shading and whatnot.

(Why can I always draw just fine when it’s a personal piece, but the moment I start a request everything looks wonky 😭)

I used to enjoy Pokemon games a lot, but lately some of the newer entries have been kinda controversial due a variety of issues.

But instead of focusing on that, i'm here to bring you back to the past to the Nintendo DS era of Pokemon, where many (myself included) would say that the quality and care of the series was at it's peak!

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of this blog! It all started with a joke about my friend naming their Whimsicott ‘N.’ I didn’t expect this blog to blow up, in just one year, I’ve gained 784 followers, and I am grateful for each and every one of you. So, to celebrate, I remade my Whimsicott N edit, the first edit I ever made.

Train twins train twins train twins-

I finally got around to making a reference sheet for the twins! I desperately needed a good ref for Emmet because I had to use my Warden Ingo drawing to figure out I draw the twins, and it's hard to read shapes on that one. I also needed to figure out how to draw their expressions, since I follow the Manga cannon where Ingo smiles with just the corners of his mouth. When I draw Emmet genuinley smiling, its in his eyes and eyebrows.

Right- tiny details no one but me would notice/care about! From easiest to hardest to see

Emmet and Ingo's hairlines are different, Emmet has a slight peek while Ingo's is blunt. (Normally covered by their hats)

Ingo's sideburns points are slightly higher and, and Emmet's are slightly longer.

Ingo has smile lines and crows feet around his eyes because he actually smiles plenty.

Ingo's right eyebrow is shorter than his left and both of Emmets.

Emmet has Lichtenberg scars running up the right side of his neck, price of training electric types at a young age and breeding Joltik to get a Galvantula with Cross Poison

Ingo has a scar on the top right of his face from an incident with Litwick when he was little. It's almost entirely covered by his hat, and is also the reason his eyebrow is shorter on that side. It killed his eyebrows in spirit aswell as body.

You literally CAN NOT see Ingo's scar unless you are fully zoomed in on the actual file on clip studio. I can't even see it on my phone. It's the tiniest lines of discoloration in a corner that also in shadow. But here is a major cropping of the ref as proof it is there-
