#pokemon legends: kyurem au

i feel like if pokemon continues the legends series, they're probably gonna make the games different types of rpg games. so here's my idea for a legends games

pokemon legends: kyurem. it takes place during the unovan civil war and it's a choose your own adventure game.

a pair of twins is sent back in time as the space-time rifts first found in hisui have been spreading to the other regions and causing divergences in the flow of time. now the twins have to choose between joining the army of truth, army of ideals, or to go to a supposed ghost town where strange things are happening.

no matter what twin you choose, the other is still a main character of the story. unlike in legends arceus where the mc is practically a hero in history, you and your twin have to keep a low profile since it's a pretty big part of unovan history you've been sent back to.

i don't know all of the ancestors i want to have in each path you choose but here are some.

the protags look like the b2w2 protags and for a good reason. i won't say the reason.

i don't really have a lot of ideas. the armies are more for not using pokemon at all or only using them as tools. the people in nimbasa town have a much more partner like relationship with pokemon. that's all i have.

That art you drew of Ingo slowly shifting into Black Kyurem was really good. Also, that transformation looks excruciatingly painful, and I feel terrible for Ingo. (Did you have a scene in mind for that particular image? Like what triggered the transformation, or if anyone else was around, et cetera.)

Ghetsis had managed to follow them to Alola. He has Kyurem with him, and that worries him immensely. Kyurem had sealed itself away, deep within the Giant Chasm. For Ghetsis to have it under his control again. . .

It doesn’t take a genius to know what he’s after: Zekrom. The Deep Black Pokémon had returned to N’s side after adventuring with Rosa, and now stands stalwart, its tail aglow with blue lightning as it prepares to protect them from this madman once again.

With his Pokémon by his side, Grimsley is more than ready to take on Ghetsis. This maniac had been bested twice before, so a third time should be easy.

Ghetsis stamps the ground with his cane. An immense blast of cold erupts, rocketing forward and engulfing them in a devouring chill.

There’s a sudden heat. It wraps around him, comforting and familiar, and chases enough of the chill away to allow N and Zekrom to retreat to the safety of the storm clouds above.

Embers dance through the air. Towering spires of ice reach up to grasp at the sky. A rumble reverberates around him. Wing beats scatter the snow and embers, creating a swirling dichotomy of warm and cold air.

Ghetsis' expression twists into a furious snarl. The cane is driven into the ground with such force that it splinters the ground below.

‘That blasted Colress! Even as a mindless beast, he still manages to get in my way!’

Pokemon Au: Does Jaune remember Keldeo and the promise. Does remember the Kyurem dreams? Imagine if he got Ptsd from Weiss freezing a grimm because Kyurem has the same color eyes as the grimm.

"Mr. Arc?"

"Huh, what?"

"Class is over, Mr. Arc,"

"Oh, I-"

"Class has been over, Mr. Arc," the doctor said, sipping from his mug, "is there something on your mind?"

"Uh..." Jaune scratched his cheek. "Kind of? I was just thinking about the legend in today's lesson. Something about it just... stuck with me."

"You mean the story of the Swords of Justice of Unova?"

"Yeah." Jaune shut the book in front of him. "Something about the four of them seemed to... I dunno, put me in a funk."

"Four? The textbook only mentions three, Mr. Arc."

"Oh!" Jaune furrowed his brow.

"You might have mistaken them from a story from another region, one where there were indeed four mentioned."

"Why wasn't there four mentioned in this textbook?"

"Why, indeed?" He sipped from his coffee.

"...This is a homework assignment, isn't it?"

"Excellent idea, Mr. Arc! I'm glad you thought of it." With that, the doctor turned away and swiftly returned to his desk.

AAAAND SCENE! Wow wow! I didn't expect for what was supposed to be another doodle comic...end up with me putting a lot of effort-!

Life got in the way plenty of times- making me take quite a bit to finish this...even contemplating on just putting this on hiatus and just do something else-

...but I did it! I didn't let any discouragement, nerves and bad feelings get to me.

Now I'm sure many are wondering- HOW did this come to fruition? Simple: my friend pointed out that my next comic should focus on Kyurem's involvement in this! Many were wondering what sort of role the old dragon played after the previous comic (Family) and the art piece that accompanied it (The Giant Chasm)! So I went for a more artistic approach to this, making the artwork look like a tale at first, but then shifting to a more crude and cold atmosphere- I was going to polish these last nine pages, yet my friend would tell me that the sketchiness helps with the narrative- and honestly, she was right! Thus I tried to add some subtle sketchiness on pages 7-11 on part one! I wonder if people noticed that detail...? Anyways, time for some fun behind the scenes stuff...!

Here's the very first concept of my Original Dragon design, including his human form!

You can tell I did some adjustments in the final product, but I really wanted to make sure this dragon had characteristics of the tao trio in some way, plus-- I wished for him to have a unique sort of feel- kinda ethereal? I also gave a teeny bit of eastern dragon influence because...well...tao trio. The tail is actually inspired by a plasma engine!

It's why I gave it a bit of a swirl to it- ...kinda reminds me of ice cream- His human design...well, I wished to make sure he looked like the princes yeah-? He is their dad after all! So I made sure to reflect that- Same with his clothing as well! Ah right...I should show the design of our princes yes...?

WHOA WHOA WHOA-- those faces... Hmm... I wonder if people can start piecing together why this au is called the "Twin Princes AU" with this and what was told in this comic...? The design in itself was conceptualized by a rough idea my friend sent me a whiiiiiile back, but asked me to refine it further! Make it fancy, royal, elegant--!! You get the point. XD Though this is the finalized design i came up with as I brainstormed this comic! I hope I could convey how magical yet refined they are! As for Kyurem....oh my! What a reveal as well huh?

Well, there's certainly some familiar design choices...! And another clue to this whole puzzle- unless some of you have figured it out! Let me know through my ask box! ;D

I really didn't expect such a warm reception towards this au me and my pal cooked up last year. To think mixing concepts from our ocverse (GUARDiANverse) with pokemon could work so well...! I suppose fantastical elements mixing with another fantastical setting aint such a bad idea...! This AU has kinda expanded since it's conception... to a point of having other stories of other characters that take place in this version of the pokemon world!

Though for now, I may need a bit of a breather. 20 pages was QUITE the endeavor! Yet...that doesn't mean I wouldn't be opposed to tell more of my tale in other ways! Shoot me an ask, tell me! Who knows, I may answer with a doodle comic! For now, I'll just slowly cook my next idea! Maybe I should give the witness to these tales some spotlight...? I dunno...but honestly, feel free to shoot asks. Well, I hope you all can be patient with me in the meantime!

working on the IT pokemon AU instead of doing homework or writing because uh. yeah. and so so so. when the losers were about 13 they really wanted to go on pokemon journey's but weren't able to because of their parents, and they all grow up and things go about as they did in the novel, until they meet back up at 40, and convince each other to give the whole pokemon journey thing a shot. and it is very silly.

also consider: richie and eddie have a trubbish and a minccino respectively who hate each others guts but eventually become best friends. they then team up and start scheming to get their trainers together. it is incredibly awkward, especially for richie since trubbish is way more obvious about it than minccino. trubbish leads them to a pier where a bunch of luvdisc spell out R + E and he's like eddie man i'm so sorry i promise i didn't put them up to this, and eddie's just standing there because he knows he saw minccino communicating with the luvdisc earlier.

stan is a flying type trainer and he loses his mind when he finds a preserved archeops fossil and gets it revived. he's not a pokemon battler but he is sooooo enthusiastic about bird pokemon, he keeps dragging everyone around to various places (that mike insists are haunted btw) to find a sigilyph. he's also basically the only reason they aren't dead because he's the only one of the losers who knows how to pitch a tent or start a fire or what mushrooms and fruits are safe to eat.

mike is a dragon trainer because i love him and i said so and dragons are cool???? he and his pokemon are aiming to face the league but he's mostly going on the adventure to figure out the legend of the heros of truth and ideals. he is writing a book. he finishes his adventure with kyurem as part of his party. because he's special.

richie met his trubbish behind the restaurant he worked at when he was waiting tables before he made it with his comedy. they are besties for life, absolute ride or dies. trubbish is his test audience for all his material and she doesn't understand anything he says but she has strong opinions anyways.

Question about your "Ingo as Zekrom" fic: Is the intention that Ingo is currently fused with Kyurem, and that's why he's always seeing its eyes even when it's not there-and how Kyurem stops him from remembering? Or is it a remnant psychic link due to the connection that the three dragons share?

I'm gonna assume you're talking about the one-shot with Kyurem, since I have more than one fic with Ingo as Zekrom.

In case it isn't clear in there, Ingo/Zekrom and Kyurem didn't unfuse after the b2w2 events. However, since the fusion wasn't perfect, there were some problems when being eeby deebied and that's how they ended up like in the fic.

Kyurem is being petty because not only is he still feeling empty/hollow, he's also lacking his own body to do whatever he wants.

I also have the concept sketch for the au but it's kind of old. Here it goes anyways

I told myself to hold this in Until I finished the transformation sequence (which is fully sketched out it just needs to be cleaned up, its not fully animated but its real :D) but unfortunately I love Precure and Magical girls and @fourphoenixfeathers AU has transfixed me so your getting AU Thoughts: -Emmet and Ingo are a duo transformation ala Nagisa and Honaka. They cannot transform without each other and transforming involves them holding hands.

(Look Emmet and Ingo are literally black and white and it's also the Precure Anniversary. I need to reference the OGs)

-How Precure work in this universe is basically me mashing what I've heard about Happiness Charge (haven't watched it yet but have heard about its setting) into the pokemon world. So there's International Precure and they help the legendaries out but they aren't given powers by Them. In my head I reasoned that Precure just...seem out of Arceus jurisdiction so there is now Something Else giving people Precure powers. But legendaries can call on Precure if they need some help. That's what Kyurem did for Emmet and Ingo (and then later what Arceus did just without properly asking)

-While Emmet and Ingo are a bit outside the usual age range there not the only adult Precure. I haven't really thought of who else would be one except like...N. (he's 20) I'll think about it a bit more but the point is Anyone can be a Precure.

-Emmet and Ingo first became Cures around the start of BW2, they help out with Kyurem and the Dna splicer situation. Before that the plot of BW was mostly handled by Hilda, Bianca, Cheren and then the Midseason Cure N. There still here but Emmet and Ingo being there lightens the load a lot so it goes a bit smoother...Kyurem fusion still happens though! Both Dragons get fused! It Does Not Go Well! They fix it but that involves a secret special mode I haven't drawn yet (for people who know what Infinity Silhouette is, its that, but Emmet and Ingo get a weaker version of it in the middle of the season, it's there power up :D)

-Legends Arceus however is mainly dealt by Ingo and Emmet until midseason cure stuff happens. They go together because of the aforementioned Duo Situation. I imagine its possible to force them into a situation where they are forced to transform alone. However their Cure forms would probably destabilize and be a lot weaker than it would be if they were together.

-It's simply just not worth it unless you want to purposefully weaken them and and even then an unstable Cure is a bit of a risky situation. If Ingo was amensia-ed in this AU it would be Bad for Everyone.

-Cures overall have a pretty tight-knit community, usually there all really busy but if there in the area/its a really bad situation they'll help out.

-Pokemon can become Cures in the same way Fairies can become Cures. There's not a lot of them but there around. I'm mentioning this because i have plans for other regions (most notably Galar and...if Ash Ketchum ever gets brought in, Kanto.)

-A not insignificant amount of the Nimbasa City population has connected the dots between Emmet and Ingo and Cure Truth and Cure Ideal. It's an unsaid agreement to not say anything, they did however freak out when they found out that they existed in Hisui.

On another thing that's not in-universe AU content:

I love magical girls, so of course when I heard this AU my brain started to think about why Ingo and Emmet work really well as magical girls. Because they really do! I think it's mostly because both of them in there game dialogue are just really sincere and don't hold anything back. The sincerity and earnestness of there personality lends itself well to magical girls to me. I have more thoughts on that but I'm tired, but yeah my point is they work well together.
