If you had to give each character in 1968 a Greek god to truly represent them which would it be?

This is a fantastic question, and also difficult to answer because in my mind, each of our 3 main characters embody multiple deities.

Aemond is Zeus (powerful, controlling, vengeful), but also Hades (stealing Persephone, death), Hephaestus (fire, willpower, work, effort), and Poseidon (sea storms, earthquakes).

Aegon is Dionysus of course (a little drunk, a little insane) as well as Apollo (music, light, prophesy, humor, truth, healing), Ares (bloodshed, war, Aphrodite's lover), Hermes (thievery, travel, a messenger), and Prometheus (in chains, the giver of knowledge).

Io is Aphrodite (love, desire, committing adultery while married to Hephaestus), Hera (marriage, childbirth, bitterness), Artemis (untamed and unowned), Athena (wisdom and math), Persephone, and, as we all know, the original Io.

And there are a lot of other deities mixed in too! I imagine characters and scenes in 1968 as these ever-shifting recreations of pieces of Greek mythology, for example in one moment Aemond could be seen as Zeus and just a few paragraphs later is embodying Hades. To me, it adds a sense of uneasiness for these familiar dynamics to be reappearing in unpredictable ways.

If I had to give each character just 1 god, I would say:

Aegon -> Apollo

Io -> Aphrodite

And I'll choose minor deities for the rest of the family, since the main Greek gods are so intertwined with the Aemond/Aegon/Io trinity...

Okay so! first off, this au is pretty silly, its basically HMSW but what is whole was *actually* a god in their headspace.

In the au heart goes by Neoma, mind goes by Soleil, soul goes by Asteria, and whole goes by Gaia/Harmonia !

For pronouns Neoma uses any/all but prefers they them. Soleil uses he/she/it. Asteria uses he/they/it and Gaia uses he/she/they !

I currently dont have too much set out about the au but I do have their heights!

“You don't need to.” Athena said while she's walking

“Huh?”

“Let her finish her own conflict first. Now you can have rest, Rene” she continues

Eirene widened her eyes in shock

O vestido de Gaia aaaaaaa em A protegida dos Anjos

"

O vestido da noiva de Susano era uma celebração da terra e do céu. A seda branca, tão pura quanto a luz do primeiro amanhecer, servia de tela para um espetáculo de bordados dourados que se espalhavam pelas bordas como raios de sol tocando a terra. Cada ponto de ouro formava a silhueta de flores silvestres, criando um padrão que parecia dançar com a brisa. As raízes das árvores ancestrais, símbolos de força e proteção, eram representadas em filigranas douradas que se entrelaçavam ao longo do tecido, como se estivessem vivas e crescendo em harmonia com a deusa.

O corpete era uma joia em si, com cada linha e curva desenhada para realçar a beleza natural de Gaia. Pedras preciosas verdes, reminiscentes das folhas mais vibrantes da floresta, adornavam o decote, capturando a essência da vida que pulsa no coração da natureza. O vestido, fluindo como um rio tranquilo, terminava em uma cauda que parecia deixar um rastro de flores e folhas por onde passava, um lembrete do caminho fértil que Gaia deixa em seu despertar.

Este vestido não era apenas um traje, mas um testamento da conexão de Gaia com todos os aspectos do mundo natural, uma homenagem à sua divindade e ao poder eterno da natureza.

O véu de Gaia era uma cascata etérea de tecido celestial, tão leve que parecia flutuar ao redor de sua figura como uma brisa suave. Feito de uma seda translúcida que capturava a luz do sol, transformando-a em um arco-íris de cores suaves que se moviam com graça divina. So... the fleshing out of Connected Cosmos: The Game is taking longer than I thought it would, but I have figured out what the eldritch monster main villain is and how it's affecting the code-napped Crossover Update universes.

I call it The Twilight. It's a pocket dimension made entirely of...for now let's call it highly corruptive mostly sentient anti-magic with a psychic hivemind structure. That's a massive oversimplification but I don't have the energy to explain the whole thing. It's invading the universes that make up the game's main areas by leaking through cracks in space-time, which creates shadow monster drones, possesses and transforms powerful and/or weak-minded beings, and slowly terraforms the universe surrounding the cracks.

Rising Star Circus actually got off...sort of lucky. While their full universe got thoroughly borked, the circus itself became part of the main hub universe, a gilded city of Sorcery on a mountaintop called Mount Nexus, which just so happens to be one of the few universes that the Twilight can't enter...outside of certain story events, of course.

Then there's Harmonia (scaled down somewhat so it's not bigger than every other map combined, so as to save on resources and not be suspicious), where Lumiere has somehow managed to cut a deal with the Twilight. At least, he thinks he has. All ten kingdoms are dealing with some sort of thematically appropriate catastrophe thanks to some powerful boss-type character being fed by a massive Twilit Rift (what I'm calling the cracks the Twilight are using) in each of them. Luminos got it worst off, with Lumiere setting up shop there and Queen Melody and most of her staff being possessed (Nimbus and a few others managed to get away).

Dreaming Gaia is... sort of okay? On one hand the Twilight aren't that much more threatening than the stuff that's already there outside of being an outside-context problem, on the other hand they resonate with Nightmare energy and the remnants of both cults are interested in them for different reasons.

And then Renata has no way to fend off extradimensional shadow monsters so they're kind of in the midst of an apocalypse right now. So on top of her occasional bouts of frantic lucidity due to her half-dose of the memory suppression virus she's also having to survive the potential end of the world with no idea if the few loved ones she can consistently remember are alive or dead. On the plus side the Twilight are close enough to Heartless that her Keyblade finally ends up manifesting to protect her.

Also, the Twilight are programmed with the secondary function of keeping anything from entering or exiting the game without the proper permissions. By force.
