What if... the wardens are all supposed to be nomadic? They travel in pairs usually to wander between towns in the Hisui region/state/whatever and are tasked to just help out where they can when they can. Pairs can mix and match or travel in larger groups for a while. They communicate via magical flute, if they need to meet up or call for reinforcements. Irida and Adaman could be leaders of the wardens specifically, and together they kinda tagteam the region's primary defense force, but they're also largely nomadic and sometimes their duties do include protecting a traveling caravan, so them wandering in a group isn't actually strange. Mostly thinking of this bc I think in game the wardens are probably supposed to roam their areas looking for people and pokemon to help or to help take care of the land, so it'd be easy to transfer that here. Calaba in particularl would benefit people if she were a traveling medic who could go where people most need. Maybe Irida and Adaman are able to use their magic to somehow receive requests for aid from people, even when they're out-of-office, so to speak? Like people can mail in requests and their mailbox automatically teleports to Irida's bag. Or something, idk
oh yeah maybe!!
lian using his geomancy to wander all over the region and take core samples to see how the deep earth magic is faring. mai i don't know if i see pairing up necessarily, but since it was pitched that she's sort of covering for adaman i wonder if she also does time magic? but like, way better. she has tried to teach him but it just is not clicking. anyway i see her as being another sort of jack-of-all-trades type, not necessarily excelling at any one particular area but usually pretty good at fixing interpersonal or smaller problems when they come up, and if she can't, she probably knows someone who can.
calaba and arezu being a traveling apothecary (+hairdresser) who fill ursaluna's bags full of the tiniest seeds and cuttings of plants from all over, that arezu can use her green magic to grow into full plants whenever they're needed. arezu is almost more like calaba's apprentice, and they don't always get along but mostly are good enough at working together, and they're well-recognized faces at some locations on their circuit and people are always happy when they come around
i wonder what palina's deal in this world is... like, do the nobles as bloodlines exist? or is it more like, these are the familiars this group of wardens happens to have taken. either way, i wonder if she's still viewed as a failure in this world or if that's something that's improved. at any rate she can probably be a lot more open with her affection for iscan, since there's not the same rift between their two groups. uunless her reputation is still trashed and she's still trying to preserve his, in which case they might avoid being seen altogether.
most people assume iscan's bound to travel by river bc of his familiar, but the fish can actually leave the water whenever thanks to ghost power. it just likes it in there. and part of his job is to monitor the health of the magic that flows through the region's rivers, so trailing along them is a pretty good way to do it. and there are plenty of riverside settlements or individual homes to stop in and help out at, although he definitely doesn't mind the quiet, either
ingo is notable for being one of, if not the only warden people can remember that isn't trying to do magic, apparently? like sometimes they struggle with it (not often, it's generally better to pick people who are already proficient) but like they at least have a nominal discipline. not him tho. he still manages to be very helpful without using any, though, so his business is his business, we guess. melli meanwhile is actually pretty good at healing specifically disease and toxins, he's probably some sort of biomage, but you'd never guess it from his demeanor (hating on everyone everywhere all the time.)
gaeric is another battlemage similarly to cyllene, but without a weapon other than his fists. he augments his physical strength with magic, and mostly does heavy lifting and/or physical protection duty. meanwhile sabi uses her eye magic to predict problems before they happen, fix them, and then fly away again like some kind of cryptid child. as is her right. when she doesn't have a specific premonition to chase down she tails her fellow wardens from the air, just to see what they're up to. she probably stalks akari's group for a few days before they realize the big bird that's been following them is not Just a big bird, tbh

big ol' chunk of asks
Tumblr media
During the Late Rodentocene to Early Therocene, they were successful for a bit but as extreme specialization to a limited niche is a gamble at best, they didn't handle tectonics and changing climes and eventual fusion with the mainland.
Tumblr media
They've made a resurgence in the Temperocene, there's not many species and they just fill generalized nondescript medium-sized omnivore niches, but when it comes to population they're quite abundant, as their foraging lifestyle and varied diets keep them from being pressured by podotheres, rabbeasts and piggalo.
Tumblr media
Best case scenario, everyone tagteams the harmsters seeing them as a proper common enemy. What happens afterward really depends on how well they can get along with other intelligent sophont species.
Tumblr media
Heh...this could make a good "Land of the Lost" or "Terra Nova" style adventure book or tv series where people of present day earth end up on a mysterious planet filled with strange creatures and the huge "they're all Earth rodents!" reveal being the big Season 2 finale plot twist lol.
Tumblr media
Similar likely to the Procoptodon and other giant Pleistocene kangaroos that walked on two legs rather than hopped. This could have been a starting point for increased independent leg mobility, with larger pelvic muscles, elliptical femur heads, ankle joints that allow weight-bearing on the inner side of the foot, and perhaps a modification of the muscles at the base of the tail to become more hypertrophied as a counterweight. The caudofemoralis muscle is found in nearly all tailed tetrapods, though likely less so in rodents (though Chinese dwarf hamsters have relatively long tails). In mammals, its action is to flex the tail laterally to the corresponding side while the pelvic limb is bearing weight.
Tumblr media
That is, if they can survive the immense crushing pressures. At the bottom of the deepest trenches the water pressure is said to be equivalent to the weight of an elephant, so if they can somehow deal with both that and find a way to respire entirely underwater then they've got a shot.
Tumblr media
Not exactly the same genus, but the desert-dwelling duskmice, while likely genetically very different after 150 million years, have not superficially changed from their external appearance and ecological niche, still basically being recognizably hamsters and differentiated only by size or color or behavior. While related to forms such as the whale-like cricetaceans or the canid-like zingos or the really weird ones like the daggoths and rattiles (all of which are cladistically duskmice), some have found a stable niche as small crepuscular seed-eating rodent and have stuck to it successfully for four geologic eras like the horseshoe crab of hamsters.
Tumblr media
Galliform and anseriform-esque niches are well within the ratbats domain as of now. Niches where they don't have to fly as efficiently have been filled by the ground ratbats, and some still fill waterbird niches, though wading-bird niches akin to herons is more of a pterodent thing due to their long legged bipedal stances and more flexible necks.
Tumblr media
I can't really find the tag? I look it up and nothing shows up. Anyway, I'd assume that it would be something comparable to the faster snakes of today like black mambas which can reach speeds of around 23km/h. Limbs really do just give a speed advantage.
Tumblr media
Perhaps? After all tetrapod limbs originated from fish fins which in turn emerged from undulating membranes of early chordates. It's not entirely out of the realm of possibility.
also I vaguely remember something there called a cetitan and apparently it's the name of a Pokemon now lol

DTVA/DTS TAGTEAM TWEET-ATHON MOVIE #46: STITCH! THE MOVIE (2003)
Wow, that was actually like, the exact opposite of Milo’s Return. That was just delightful!
So, this was the pilot for the Lilo and Stitch TV Series, which I remember being pretty good. If this movie was any indication, then my memory was right.
The animation is actually really good. It’s nowhere near as good as the original, but for a DTVA show from 2003, it looks pretty damn good. They get pretty dynamic with the little CGI they use.
The characters are still pretty fun too. They got pretty much all of the voice actors from the movie back, so they still feel just like they used to.
Even the new villain is funny. Someone really said “Okay, the villain is a short German gerbil in a cape”, and the rest of the crew went along no questions asked.
The plot of this show is pretty much Pokemon mixed with Danny Phantom if that makes sense. They go around trying to find the other experiments and then try to find a new job for them.
The two experiments we see in this movie are Electric Stitch and Sandwich Stitch, and they’re ok I guess. They’re really just variations on Stitch, but they don’t seem overly lazy in the way their designed.
But the movie’s still fun in the end. It’s got some really good jokes too. I particularly like the one with the phonebook. It’s the exact sort of stupid humor I enjoy.
Stitch may not be anywhere near up to the level of the original movie, but it’s still fun and engaging enough to be worth a watch. It certainly made up for the trainwreck that was Milo’s Return though.
8.5/10: Sandwich Stitch looks out for one guy...Sandwich Stitch!

Im really bad at tabletop games, specially card ones! But still, I find the art in them very apealing aplied to this format, so I decided to make some with my pokemon team!
Here are Cosette and Caramel: Cosette loves to have an original style and works very hard in her costumes; Caramel has an unhealty obsession with puttinn bows everywhere.
The idea is to do another four pokemon cards plus a trainer one, but god knows how long it will take me lol.
Lil reminder, my pokemom commissions are still open!!

More TABF Pokémon AU under the cut cause I am having too much fun with this AU haha
When Fortune joins Midoriya’s Pokémon journey, the only Pokémon she has is Sylveon, and she’s honestly perfectly fine with just having Sylveon since she has no interest in becoming a Pokémon Master or in forming a team for battles.
However, in the end, slowly but surely, Fortune ends up with her own team of Pokémon, most of which are Pokémon who she has helped/rescued which led to them wanting to join her on her journey.
The first Pokémon to join Fortune’s team after she starts traveling with Midoriya is Riolu.
Unlike all of Fortune’s other Pokémon, Riolu was the only one who actually showed hostility toward her. That’s because it dislikes humans due to being abandoned by it’s previous trainer.
Riolu’s previous trainer caught it in hopes of being able to get a Lucario, but when a long period of time passed without Riolu evolving, the trainer lost his patience and decided that he would just find another way to get a Lucario.
Riolu has always tried to be a good partner Pokémon and trained very hard for the sake of its trainer. So being abandoned like that was a big betrayal for it. It especially hated how all its trainer cared about was making it evolve.
As a result, Riolu has no interest in evolving and wants nothing to do with humans. So it always rebuffs any attempts to catch it.
Because of that, Riolu ends up with quite the reputation, and trainers from all around come to the forest where it’s living in order to challenge it. Unfortunately for them, Riolu always comes out on top against all of its opponents, which just leads to it getting stronger.
Fortune & Midoriya end up coming to Riolu’s forest out of curiosity, but they don’t have any plans of catching it since it’s obvious that that’s not what Riolu wants. They mostly just wanted to see this infamous Pokémon for themselves.
Thinking they’re his newest enemies, Riolu attacks the two when they find it, so they have no choice but to battle to protect themselves. While Riolu is able to get the better of Scorbunny, Sylveon is able to hold its own, so they’re able to avoid getting totally defeated by Riolu.
It’s during this battle that Fortune notices that Riolu has a wound on its arm, most likely from a past battle. She tries to offer to bandage the wound, but Riolu doesn’t want her anywhere near it. So, in the end, Midoriya comes up with the idea of having their Pokémon give Riolu some berries to help with its recovery.
After doing that, Fortune & Midoriya decide to leave since it’s obvious that their presence is unwelcome. Although, Fortune really doesn’t want to leave until she’s sure Riolu’s injury is okay.
Not long after they leave, some members of Team Rocket arrive to capture Riolu, having heard of it’s reputation and deciding it would be a worthy ally. Unfortunately, while it’s able to hold its own for a while, Riolu eventually gets caught via net.
Thankfully, before Team Rocket can get far with Riolu, Fortune & Midoriya arrive on the scene and go after Team Rocket to save Riolu. Riolu is naturally stunned to see them go out of their way to rescue it.
Its opinion of Fortune only grows more favorable when she risks her safety to grab the net holding him when Team Rocket accidentally drops it over a cliffside after their hot air balloon gets attacked by Scorbunny.
After Team Rocket has been defeated and Riolu has been rescued and had its injuries treated, Fortune & Midoriya plan to take their leave since they know Riolu should be fine now.
Much to their surprise, Riolu follows after them and challenges Fortune to a match. It’s during this battle that she realizes what Riolu is after, so when Syvleon defeats Riolu, she throws a  Pokéball at it. She half-expects for it to not work, but lo and behold, Riolu gets caught just like that.
While Riolu’s distrust toward humans hasn’t completely faded, it has acknowledged that Fortune isn’t like its previous trainer, and after witnessing her strength firsthand, it decided that it wants to give being a partner Pokémon another chance.
The next Pokémon to join Fortune’s team is Ralts whose brother also joins Midoriya’s team at the same time. The two Ralts decide that they want to follow the humans on their journey after Fortune & Midoriya save their colony/family which got attacked by some other wild Pokémon who were trying to take over the area where the Ralts were all living.
Fortunately, Midoriya & Fortune are able to resolve things between the Pokémon after defeating the main Pokémon who were instigating all the fighting.
Seeing how cool Midoriya & Fortune were in battle with their Pokémon, two Ralts, who have always dreamed on going on an adventure, seek the trainers out, hoping this way they can travel without being separated from their sibling since these two humans are traveling together.
While Fortune & Midoriya are caught by surprise by this, they quickly agree to having the Ralts join their teams. From then on, they start getting involved in doubles battles so the Ralts can team up to fight opponents which the Ralts really enjoy.
The next Pokémon to join Fortune’s team is Munchlax. Unlike her other Pokémon, this one doesn’t get saved by Fortune. It’s just been secretly following her and Midoriya. It’s a running gag that it always shows up out of nowhere whenever it’s time to eat.
Fortune, of course, is fine with this since she could never turn away a hungry Pokémon, so she happily feeds Munchlax every time it comes by to see them. It never once crosses her mind to catch it since she assumes that it prefers being wild and only approaches her because it’s hungry.
As you can expect, Munchlax eventually becomes very attached to Fortune cause she’s always so sweet to it and always gives it yummy food. So eventually it lets her know that it would like to be a part of her team. This catches her by surprise, but she happily agrees to its request.
The next Pokémon she catches is Azurill who she finds crying, alone and hungry. After taking care of it and bringing it to a Pokémon Center, she discovers how young it is and decides that it would be safer at a Pokémon lab rather than journeying with her so she asks the professor from Midoriya’s village to look after Azurill.
After that, Fortune meets Keigo who gives her a Pokémon egg that eventually hatches into a Togepi. While she considers giving Togepi the same treatment as Azuril since she wants it to grow up in a safe, stable environment, in the end, she decides against it because Togepi sees her as its mother and gets distraught whenever it has to go too long without her.
No doubt Togepi would do a lot of crying if she sent it to the professor, so Fortune decides to keep Togepi with her and just do the best she can to raise it.
The last two Pokémon to join Fortune’s team are Bewear and Mimikyu who she both meets when her group takes a trip to Alola after Aizawa gets called there for business and drags the kids along with him for the ride since he doesn’t trust them not to get into trouble while he’s gone lol
In the case of Bewear, she finds one that had been poisoned by another wild Pokémon and immediately helps to cure it with the antidote she has on hand. As soon as its healed, the Bewear runs off and she goes after it since she’s worried about it pushing itself too hard.
When she later finds it, she discovers that a Garbodor appears to be trying to take over the forest where Bewear lives. Considering how Bewear attacks it as soon as it sees it, it’s obvious that Bewear is trying to defeat Garbodor and protect the forest and its inhabitants from it.
Fortune quickly realizes that this must be how Bewear ended up getting poisoned. Obviously, its last battle with Garbodor didn’t end so well.
Wanting to support Bewear, she cheers it on and provides berries/antidote anytime it looks like it needs some. She even shouts out moves in hopes of offering useful suggestions.
In the end, thanks to Fortune’s assistance, Bewear is able to win and chase off Garbodor before it can cause any more damage.
Once that’s all settled, Fortune tells Bewear that she’ll be going now since she needs to reunite with her friends. Before leaving, she gives Bewear some more berries and tells it to be more careful when it’s picking fights with other Pokémon.
Much to her surprise, rather than return home like she expects, Bewear instead just starts following her. Eventually, she realizes that it wants to join her team.
What she doesn’t know is that Bewear recognized how it felt stronger when she was supporting it, and since it enjoyed that feeling, it wants to remain with her and become stronger with her.
Naturally, Fortune is all to happy to agree.
After that, Fortune encounters an unconscious Mimikyu and immediately takes it to a Pokémon Center. Naturally, she’s nervous due to it being a ghost Pokémon, but she puts that fear aside since taking care of a Pokémon in need is obviously more important.
From the nurse there, Fortune learns that this Mimikyu has been in a lot of battles. More than likely, it has gotten attacked due to its scary appearance since it’s not uncommon for other Pokémon to be wary of Mimikyu.
Fortune thinks this is really sad since Mimikyu must be really lonely, not being able to make friends with other Pokémon because of its appearance.
This leads to her trying to be less scared of it, so she can befriend it. What she didn’t expect was for Mimikyu to be so receptive to her since she expected it to be a least a little cautious toward her because of the treatment it’s used to.
However, that’s not the case at all cause Mimikyu quickly becomes very attached to Fortune because she saved it and is the first to show it kindness.
Eventually, this leads to Fortune asking Mimikyu if it wants to join her team since it’s obvious that it really likes her. Plus, despite her nervousness, she’s worried about leaving it on its own.
Unsurprisingly, Mimikyu is quick to accept her offer.

Anime Lance is weirdly nice and cheery??? While game!Lance is *hyperbeams this defenseless store owner in the face* *leaves 11 year old child alone after fulfilling his responsibility quota for the next 10 years through one tagteam battle* *literally does not show up to the Radio Takeover, Silver why'd you think he'd be here-* and he seems very intense and grouchy in Generations, and a huge jerk in most fanfics, I'm not sure how to get a good handle on his personality. Masters is something else.
Hi there anon! Yes, Lance definitely has the most variations in his portrayals across the franchise which makes him very tough to nail down. I haven't seen much of his master's personality since my poor phone doesn't have the capability to run masters (usually my info comes from watching playthroughs on youtube). He's even evil and has powers in the Pokemon Special/adventures manga. I'll say that y first impression of Lance was "wow super cool nice dragon dude who's a G-man!" when I was younger since I got into Pokemon via the anime. So imagine my surprise when I was in my edgelord "the anime sucks, manga!Red >>> Ash Ketchup" phase that Lance was evil? (sidenote: I am now at the stage where I think both Ash Ketchum and Red in all his incarnations are cool characters in their own rights) And some of the gym leaders were too? Teenage edgelord Spheal was thrown for a loop. Intrigued but thrown for a loop.
So yeah it can be a challenge to write Lance I think, but also on the bright side I think with so many variations you have a lot more flexibility with him (if you're someone who likes being canon compliant). I'll admit that I haven't read too many jerk!Lance fanfics, the fics I've read recently with him in it have made him more out to be a slightly grouchy and dramatic team dad of the champions which is kind of how I've been dealing with his portrayals in my own Pokeverse. I just like the idea of him lowkey adopting Red, Blue, Gold, Silver and Kris as his kids and dealing with their eccentricities. The one thing I do borrow from the manga is that he has powers (aura in cactusverse). In fact Lance and Red were kind of the starting point of me just saying "yeah all of the champions have aura powers in cactusverse".

DTVA/DTS TAGTEAM TWEET-ATHON MOVIE #64: LEROY & STITCH (2006)
I mean, what else is there really to say, the title says it all...
This is the finale movie to the Lilo and Stitch animated series that Stitch! The Movie started. I remember that show just being a weirder version of Pokemon, and seeing that list during the end credits only reaffims that for me.
But just, this movie’s cute. It seems to tie up the plotlines set up by Stitch! very well, but I can’t be sure about the rest of the show.
This one’s not big on any real jokes, but there are a few chuckles here and there, and the heavier moments work when they’re there. Reuben/625 is objectively the best character here. The score also has some good moments too.
I don’t think it was a good idea to use Aloha ‘Oe as the song to destroy all of the Leroy clones at the end. I feel that it takes away from the moment where Nani sings it to Lilo in the first movie.
And hoo boy that animation. I know it’s low to poke fun at it given the much lower budget, especially compared to the original movie, and even 2, but dear God. Some of the shots during that final battle at the end look like the animators were given $50 and 2 hours to finish it.
Overall, a fine finale to a TV series. That’s nothing to balk at, a lot of shows don’t get a chance to have that...
7/10: I’m having a hard time seeing how they made half hour episodes with these creatures. How do you make an episode about a monster who shoots popcorn?
