By the looks of it, we likely won't get the next Book 7 update until the end of Nov or Dec or possibly even Jan if the ENG server doesn't split part 13 into two parts since I can't see them giving us an update while the newest Halloween event is going on and I really think they wanna save the ending of Book 7 for next year's anniversary and copy JPN who ended Book 7 for this year's anniversary.
This is a very good thing for my Yuu since it means the suffering she goes through at the end of Book 7 won't be happening for a while, although that also means you angst lovers gotta wait a while for the tidal wave of angst that's gonna be eventually coming your way lol 😂
Y'all thought what Yuu went through thanks to Leona's and Idia's overblots, which up till this point were the worst imo, with Vil's being a close third, was bad, but just wait till y'all see how things end with Malleus's overblot.
I'm gonna be traumatizing everyone. No one is safe 😈

What would happen if that roommate with a crush because of Yuu's musculature and her personality actually worked up the courage to ask her out on a date after Months of being flustered and overwhelmed by their attraction to her but trying to respect her boundaries and the hints about her past? What would happen with Yuu's reaction and the NRC gang's reaction to that? They are relatively level headed compared to the hotheads and would accept a rejection even if they're a little bit embarrassed afterwards.
Hmmm it really depends on what Yuu's feelings are for this roommate, but if they're someone she likes being around, I think she'd be willing to go on at least one date with them, even if she doesn't have romantic feelings for them, since it's possible those kinds of feelings could develop if she started spending that kinda time with the roommate, but Yuu would be quick to preface her acceptance of the date request by explaining her feelings so she wouldn't cruelly get the roommate's hopes up since she would never want to hurt anyone like that.
The majority of Yuu's friends would not be happy about the idea of Yuu going on a date with this person, but they wouldn't tell Yuu that since none of them are so bad that they'd try to control her life like that and they know Yuu wouldn't approve of them trying to intefere.
Instead, they'd be much more subtle about it. Like Yuu's sons would totally spy on the date. The fish mafia would be digging up all the info they could find on the roommate and potentially considering scaring them/sabotaging them lol

Has Yuu had any luck in convincing Mickey and getting the Lilo & Stitch and The Nightmare Before Christmas DVDS for her kids to watch? Or are they just bedtime stories with no supplementary materials? Does she use the photos she has for reference images?
Uh I don't think that's something feasible for Mickey. I mean, would those movies even exist in the world where HE'S real? 😅
I have no idea how the situation with Mickey will turn out since the main story is keeping us on our toes, but I'm gonna guess that we're not gonna end up with the kinda relationship with Mickey where we could ask him to bring us stuff from his world since we'll likely lose contact with him after the main story ends lol
I think Yuu would refrain from telling her kids about the Disney movies for the same reason she doesn't tell anyone else about them since she wants to avoid being questioned too much, but I'm sure Yuu would share her pictures of Stitch and tell them all about that book adventure. Sadly, there won't be pictures of the NBC crew cause Yuu doesn't have her ghost camera or phone with her during that book adventure.

Has there been anybody who has hit on Yuu in the gym before or after her getting kids? Have there been any admirers popping up romantically after she kicks anybody's ass in public?
Hmm I don't know if Yuu has ever gone to the gym since, before and after having kids, she always has everything she needs to workout at home lol
Yuu definitely gets a lot of admirers following her performance in the Bead Brawl, but no one approaches her with romantic intentions afterwards since it's not long after that that she returns to NRC.
I don't know if she'd be beating up people in public when she's working for Leona since that could potentially earn her and him some negative attention, but if it's for the sake of stopping a criminal who's after the royal family, then she could get away with that, and I guess that could potentially earn her some admirers lol

How would Yuu react to a roommate (male or female) badly concealing a crush on her regarding her musculature and not acting on it? Would she be skeeved out or under react to it? What would the NRC gang's reaction to this crush?
If they're not acting on it or being creepy about it, then Yuu wouldn't be bothered by it. After all, thanks to her Magicam famous status, she's used to the attention lol For the roommate's sake, Yuu wouldn't bring attention to the crush since she feels that's a topic that should be broached by them if it ever gets brought up, and she doesn't want to risk freaking out the roommate if they're the shy or easy to freak out type, like Idia lol
If anyone were to get a crush on Yuu and she figures it out, she wouldn't say anything and would instead just wait for them to talk cause sometimes crushes are temporary and not something people wanna act on. They're just something that's perfectly normal for people to have, and Yuu doesn't see it as something to make a big deal about.
Her friends, however, would be a different story, especially if she had a roommate who was crushing on her lol Only a select few would be completely unbothered, Kalim/Silver/Rook, and the rest would want to keep an eye on this roommate to ensure they never do anything they wouldn't approve of, although the job would mostly be left to Yuu's sons since they're with Yuu so much and are always at Ramshackle lol

So I was looking at pictures for the cloud calling event and I couldn’t help but wonder if it would take Yuu back to her cage fighting days. Would this be the event that more of her friends learn about her past? I am sure Leona, Vil, and Lilia suspects something has happened to her due to past conversations and her behavior. Jamil will probably be by her side most of the time once he realizes that she is there to give her support.
I honestly am excited for you to write this event because it is a perfect opportunity for Yuu to grow in many ways.
The Bead Brawl will definitely remind Yuu of her cage-fighting days since it involves fighting in a ring in front of an audience, like what she so often did back in her world.
So it'll be a big deal for Yuu to compete in the Bead Brawl, but she is bound and determined to do it because she has a goal that she wants to fulfill more than anything and she refuses to allow her past to hold her back, so you're definitely right that Yuu will experience some growth here, although said growth could only happen thanks to another moment of growth she has in a separate event fic that hasn't yet been posted.
Unfortunately, Yuu won't end up telling anyone about her cage-fighting days in the fic since she's just not ready for that conversation. At the most, she could just give a vague retelling of her past like what she did with Idia in my Twisted Tsumderland 3 fic.
But Leona and Lilia definitely know that she went through a lot in her past and had to do a lot of fighting as a result, although they have not suspected the idea of underground cage-fighting since that's just too surreal for them and probably not even something that exists in their countries.
In regards to Vil, he's not as suspicious about Yuu's past as those two. He just thinks that Yuu had to deal with a lot of horrible, perverted men, which is why she hates being the center of attention, and she learned to fight for self-defense/survival, and he's not wrong technically. He just doesn't know that's only the tip of the iceberg.
Also, Yuu wants the next people to hear the full details about her past to be her sons since they're so important to her, so until she is ready to have that heavy discussion with her sons, Jamil is gonna be the only guy who knows about her cage-fighting days.
Jamil finds out from Yuu in advance that she's going to the Cloudcalling Festival since Yuu pretty much always tells all of her friends when she is leaving for a trip so they won't go looking for her when she's gone.
Anyway, while Jamil does appear in the fic despite how minor his role was in the event, he won't be with Yuu the whole time because he still has to do the work that he does in the event, aka getting everything ready for Kalim's visit since those obligations aren't something he can ignore, so he's not there for the sightseeing, especially since Yuu wouldn't need support then.
During the Bead Brawl, Jamil would definitely keep a close eye on Yuu, but cause he can tell she's determined to overcome her past, he gives her space cause he wants to show that he believes in her by not acting like he's worried, although, being the worrier that he is, he is definitely worried and has dozens of contingency plans ready if something goes wrong lol 😂
It's funny, but the way you described Jamil is actually how he acts in the Tapis Rouge event cause Yuu really goes through it in that event and probably wouldn't have survived it without him lol
Anyway, I do have a lot of plans for this event, and I'm just as excited to share this fic with y'all cause of all the fun ideas I came up with 🤭

Once again, thanks to Grim doing something he shouldn't, you, along with several of your friends, find yourself stuck inside a magical book, this time one that drops you into the setting of the Disney movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, much to your great surprise.
Like what happened during your adventure with Stitch, you and your friends, along with a Halloween-loving boy named Skully J. Graves, who also got trapped inside the book, need to complete the book's story in order to escape its pages, and this entails fulfilling Jack Skellington's request to help him create the best Halloween ever. Unfortunately, you eventually discover that fulfilling this request will turn out to be a lot more difficult than you had originally expected.
Because that would be just your luck, now wouldn't it?

Now that Book 7 Part 12 Volume 2 is out, it’s time for me to cover those events and my Yuu’s involvement in them. As always, it’ll all be underneath the cut.
Picking up where the story last left off, after leaving Cater's dream, with Cater in tow, Yuu and her friends head over to Ace's dream.
Because the Stitch event happens before Book 7, Yuu immediately recognizes her surroundings, and after she brings up that event, Grim also realizes why this place looks familiar to him.
Everyone else in the group has heard about the adventure with Stitch by this point, so they know what Yuu and Grim are talking about, especially since they've all seen the pictures that Yuu took.
Cater gets excited since, after seeing all the photos Yuu took during that adventure, he had really wanted to visit such a beautiful location himself.
As Cater is taking pictures, Ortho, like in canon, asks Cater if he's feeling airsick from the recent dream jump, and things play out like they do in canon.
The conversation about Cater's love of board-related sports and the Styx hoverboards is also the same as canon.
Meanwhile, Deuce asks Yuu if Ace could actually be dreaming about that adventure with Stich. Did Ace really enjoy it that much?
Considering everything that happened, Yuu finds it unlikely that Ace would want to relive everything that occurred during the event.
However, Yuu could see Ace just wanting to have a summer vacation-like dream since the island was a perfect vacation destination and would be enjoyable just as long as you're not trapped on it for foreseeable point of time.
Ortho theorizes that, because Ace's imagination is limited and Ace possibly hasn't visited a lot of vacation destinations, Ace's mind just picked this setting for his dream cause it's the most memorable.
Cater also thinks that's pretty likely, especially since the Stitch event wasn't that long ago so he's sure it's easy for Ace's brain to fully remember all these details.
Once everyone has a decent theory about the situation of Ace's dream, they decide to go looking for Ace, and they follow the footsteps they find in the sand, like they do in canon.
As they're moving, Yuu decides to change her outfit to the one she wore during the Stitch event since she's fully expecting that to be the normal kind of wardrobe in this dream.
This leads to a lot of flustered screaming on Deuce/Sebek/Idia's end, annoying Leona who tells them all to shut up lol 😂
Meanwhile, Cater calls Yuu cute, both cause of her outfit and cause she did another magical girl transformation performance just to mess with Idia, and takes some pictures of her, happy to get the chance to do so firsthand.
Cater also gets a kick out of the silly incantation, which is his first time seeing in action, so Yuu has to explain it to him.
Deuce doesn't hear the explanation since he's too focused on running off ahead and putting some distance between himself and a swimsuit-clad Yuu which he was NOT ready for 🤣
Grim is annoyed that he can't change into the outfit he wore during the Stitch event since he wants to wear his beach outfit too, but since his imagination isn't as strong as Yuu's, he's forced to remain as he is.
Not long after that, the group reaches the bungalow that was made during the Stitch event, which is the final nail in the coffin that proves where they all are.
Just as Yuu had expected, Ace is wearing his Stitch event gear, and unlike in canon, no one is surprised since they've all seen the pictures that Yuu took in the past.
For the same reason, they're not surprised by Dream Riddle's outfit, although it's still surreal for them to see firsthand a Riddle showing off his bellybutton lol
What does surprise Yuu is the fact that Dream Trey is wearing his Scalding Sands event attire, but Yuu quickly realizes that, since Trey wasn't in the beach event, Ace's imagination had to come up with something else so he made use of the pictures that were taken during the Scalding Sands hometown trip, which also takes place before Book 7.
This makes Yuu wonder what Dream Deuce is supposed to be wearing since he hasn't been a part of any trips that gave him outfits that suit this setting lol
Aside from the outfit situation, things play out like they do in canon, with Ace being surprised about the large group Yuu/Deuce/Grim/Cater came with, although he apparently told Yuu that she could invite other friends.
However, Ace isn't as surprised as he is in canon, because he knows the kind of large friend group Yuu has, so seeing Ortho and Sebek really doesn't catch him off guard. He's more surprised to see Leona, Silver, and Idia's tablet, the tablet and Leona especially lol
Yuu quickly comes up with the excuse that she invited all of her other sons but only Ortho and Sebek were available, and Ortho wanted his brother to come along, at least in tablet form, to work on further improving his socializing skills.
As Idia grumbles in the background, Yuu says that Silver was with Sebek when she extended the invitation, so she asked Silver if he wanted to join them too since she didn't want Silver to be left out and Silver had said he had never visited the beach before.
In regards to Leona, Yuu says that it just so happened that Leona was free, and she lured him here with the promise of Trey's excellent cooking, to which Leona just rolls his eyes.
Like in canon, when Ace suggests that everyone, who's wearing their school uniforms, change out of them into something more comfortable, Leona tries to keep things from getting off track since he just wants to hurry up and take care of what's most important.
This, in turn, leads to Dream Trey agreeing that what's most important is the feast and their big celebration.
When Leona questions Dream Trey's use of the word "celebration", Dream Trey gives Deuce a surprised look before asking if they really didn't tell Leona and the others what this beach trip all was for. He can understand not telling Yuu since it was meant to be a surprise for her, but he would've thought Deuce would fill the others in.
Upon being put on the spot, Deuce comes up with the excuse that it was hard to do that with Yuu always being nearby, and he just ended up accidentally forgetting to tell everyone.
Thankfully, Ace and the others believe Deuce's excuse like in canon, so things proceed with Ace explaining that this big celebration is to celebrate everyone moving up a grade and Yuu finding a way to travel freely between her world and Twisted Wonderland.
This revelation catches everyone off guard, Yuu especially, since she really wasn't expecting Ace's dream to be similar to Deuce's in that a way was found that allows her to stay in TW cause she and Ace have never talked about the subject of her wanting to stay in TW in great detail.
All this time, Yuu has just said that she is fine with staying in TW since there's nothing for her back in her world, and she's much happier where she currently is.
Since Ace doesn't know just how much Yuu hated her previous life, he thinks she would be happiest if she could travel freely between worlds since he figures there must be some things from her world that she misses, but she just won't admit it since that's just how she is. That's why his dream is the same as it is in canon.
Yuu is incredibly touched when she realizes that, like Deuce, Ace is thinking of her and her happiness in his dream rather than just prioritizing his own happiness.
It takes everything in her for Yuu to not just jump Ace and shower him with kisses cause she's so happy, but she refrains since such actions will likely confuse Ace, Dream Riddle, and Dream Trey.
Thankfully, cause of her excellent poker face, Yuu is able to avoid drawing any attention to herself, although it takes a herculean effort on her part due to how emotional she's feeling.
During this time, things play out like in canon with Dream Trey wondering why Cater is so surprised when it was his idea to host this big celebration, and thankfully, Ace assumes Cater is just savoring the moment and being all smug about his great idea.
Thankfully, everyone else's surprise doesn't draw any suspicions cause Ace's group just assumes they're all surprised about what this party is for, not the fact that Yuu is apparently able to travel in between worlds, which is obviously something Yuu would have already told all of her friends by this point.
Also, like in canon, Dream Riddle and Dream Trey volunteer to take care of the beach barbecue while everyone, who's not wearing beach appropriate clothes, gets changed, and that leads to Cater volunteering himself, Silver, and the other third years to help so Yuu and the other first years can be left in charge of talking to Ace.
After the upperclassmen leave, everyone follows Ace into the bungalow since he got left with the task of showing them were the extra beach outfits are.
Before Ace can point out the outfits, however, Yuu finally jumps him and begins doting on him, like she's been wanting to do since she heard what his dream's big celebration was about.
Predictably, Ace gets super embarrassed and complains like crazy about Yuu's actions since she's doing it in front of an audience.
Fortunately for Ace, the others, while amused, don't tease or laugh at him cause, like how everyone felt about Deuce's dream, they respect Ace for valuing Yuu's happiness as much as his own.
Since they can't afford to waste too much time, Yuu doesn't dote on Ace as much as she'd prefer and quickly takes the lead on waking him up since she's the best person for the job.
Fully utilizing her emotional state, Yuu says she really is the luckiest girl ever to have best friends who care so much about her that they're even thinking of her in their dreams.
While Deuce gets noticeably embarrassed, Ace gets confused for obvious reasons when she says "dreams".
Keeping her eyes locked with Ace's, Yuu says that, all this time, Ace has never brought up her home situation, and she had always assumed it was cause Yuu has never expressed an interest in going home and has been content to remain in TW.
Now, Yuu realizes that Ace has been secretly worried about that matter, but because of how he is, he hasn't said anything to her.
Yuu thanks him for thinking about her and says that his dream has made her really happy.
Unfortunately, as much as she'd like to say this is all real, she can't, because, in reality, Yuu still has no idea what the future holds for her.
Before Ace can protest, Yuu asks him if he really thinks that Crowley, who clearly doesn't truly care about her situation, would actually put forth the effort to find a way for her to travel between worlds.
That same guy who loves making her be his errand runner and forcing the job of being NRC's resident peacekeeper? When it would be so much easier to just leave things be and hope she can always stick around since that would be more beneficial to him?
Yuu's sons are well aware of her less than positive feelings about Crowley, although she doesn't outright hate him or anything. She just thinks he's one of the most exasperating people in TW lol
For that reason, Ace begins to falter since that, in Yuu's opinion, is the biggest inconsistency in Ace's dream cause like hell Crowley will ever be that reliable lol 😂
While Ace begins to feel dizzy as he remembers all the past moments Yuu has complained about Crowley and the moments when Crowley unconvincingly claimed to have been doing some research about her situation, Grim brings up the Mickey investigation, like in canon, and when Yuu and Deuce also chime in about how they haven't made any progress with that investigation, Ace, who had forgotten about it, begins to see flashes of memories about the Mickey situation.
Yuu then starts telling Ace about everything that's going on with Malleus since it looks like Ace is coming close to waking up by this point, and she thought the memories of Lilia's going away party would be the final mental blow needed to do the job.
Regrettably, Yuu underestimated just how stubborn Ace is and how much he wants to remain in this dream since he's able to prevent himself from waking up.
Like in canon, Ace complains about everyone messing with him and says their joke isn't funny. He also tells Yuu that, no matter how much Crowley has pissed her off in the past, she needs to accept that he actually did something good for once. He knows it must hurt her pride since she was so convinced all this time that Crowley couldn't help her, but she needs to accept that she was wrong for once, especially when it was to her benefit.
This is when Sebek, who had chosen to remain quiet cause he knows that he and Ace don't get along well and he wanted to leave waking up Ace to Yuu, Grim, and Deuce who know Ace best, loses his cool like he does in canon.
It really pisses Sebek off that Ace is so blatantly disregarding Yuu's feelings when they are obviously completely genuine. How can he allow himself to be called Yuu's best friend if he refuses to believe in her and even goes so far to accuse her of being too prideful and petty?
From there, things play out like in canon with Sebek and Ace butting heads, saying pretty much the same things they did in canon, although Ace is noticeably more irate cause of Sebek's comments about Yuu and Ace's relationship with her.
Right as Yuu is about to get involved since this fighting is pointless, she gets caught off guard, like everyone else, when Ace starts talking about this "hypothetical" situation and asks why it's such a big deal to remain in a dream.
The whole time Ace is talking, Yuu, like Deuce, is wondering if Ace really is still asleep since he's sure not acting like it.
However, what really has Yuu frozen in her tracks is how easy it is for her to read Ace's emotions in this moment since he's not doing nearly as good a job as he usually does at keeping his composure.
Yuu can tell that Ace is scared, and at first, she thinks it's of the severity of the situation they're all in since facing someone as powerful as Malleus is scary.
And that is true to a certain extent. However, she eventually realizes, after seeing how Ace every so often glances at her, that what Ace is the most afraid of is the idea of losing this world where he can always see Yuu - where she'll always be apart of his life.
This is the main reason why Ace is being so stubborn. He doesn't want to give up this happiness, even if it isn't "real".
And it truly breaks Yuu's heart.
Because Yuu gets caught up in her emotions, the argument between Sebek and Ace plays out like in canon, with it ending with Ace storming out of the room.
Ace's angry departure is what brings Yuu back to her senses. Immediately, she decides to go after him and tells the others to wait for Cater and the other upperclassmen to explain the situation to them.
Plus, in Ace's current state, approaching him as a group will only exacerbate the situation.
Before she leaves, however, Yuu scolds Sebek since she thinks he was in the wrong, just now, much to his surprise.
Although she knows that he originally got so upset on her behalf, Yuu says that Sebek was the one digging his heels in and being the most stubborn.
All of the things that Deuce, Grim, and Ortho had said to Sebek in this scene in canon get said by Yuu who points out that Sebek was being a hypocrite since he too had briefly given into the darkness, and it's perfectly reasonable for people who aren't close to Malleus to not care what happens to him and to not want to stop him.
Honestly, Yuu is surprised that more people didn't have a reaction like Ace since that was the more normal reaction to hearing about the current situation at hand.
Since she doesn't want Ace to get too far ahead, Yuu says that she'll leave the rest of the lecture Sebek needs to hear to Silver since she's sure Silver will have some words for Sebek once he hears what happened.
And, of course, that's exactly what happens while Yuu is gone, just like in canon, which leads to Deuce and the others commenting on how amazing Yuu is for predicting Silver's reaction so perfectly lol
Because Yuu has gone after Ace, the group doesn't bring up the idea of giving up on recruiting Ace cause they know how Yuu would feel about that, especially after how things turned out between Ace and Sebek.
The guys all decide to leave Ace to Yuu since she has the best chance of getting through to them, although they still go looking for Ace and Yuu since they can't stay too far away from the dreamer anyway.
Plus, everyone is worried about what the darkness in Ace's dream could do to Yuu while she's alone with him. It hasn't done anything so far, but it'll likely strike if she gets close to waking him up while no one is around to fight it off.
Moving on to Yuu's side of things, Yuu heads into the forest since she doubted that Ace would head to the beach where the upperclassmen are while he's upset.
She decides to head for the waterfall since that's a relaxing spot that's perfect for someone who needs to cool their head, and she knows that Ace quite liked that spot on the island.
Fortunately, Yuu's guess was spot on since she soon finds Ace there, grumbling to himself about everyone messing with him and how Sebek acted.
When she approaches him, Ace gets all grumpy and says that Yuu better be here to apologize.
Even though he says that, Ace is surprised when that's exactly what Yuu does. She apologizes for not stopping Sebek sooner and says that Ace's feelings are perfectly valid. She doesn't think there's anything wrong with him wanting to stay in this dream and not wanting to face someone as strong as Malleus.
She also assures Ace that, unlike Sebek, she wasn't upset by the fact that he didn't believe her earlier cause that's a perfectly logical response when someone tells you that you're dreaming regardless of how much you trust the person who tells you that.
Yuu says that Sebek went too far, but she hopes that Ace won't hold a grudge since Sebek got so upset cause he cares so much about her.
Much to her amusement, Ace predictably says he doesn't care how Sebek feels and says he'll hold a grudge if he wants to cause that's just how Ace and Sebek are with each other.
After she finishes apologizing, Yuu tells Ace that everything she said earlier was the complete truth, but she won't force Ace to wake up if he doesn't want to despite how much she wants him to wake up and how much she doesn't want to leave him behind.
Yuu says that, honestly, despite how much she loves having her sons with her, she would prefer to have them as far away from the battlefield as possible cause she doesn't want anything to happen to them, especially when they don't know for sure what will happen in their battle with Malleus, even though she has complete faith in Idia's plan.
Even though she has been working so hard to be less stubbornly independent - to rely on her friends, that stubborn independent side of her wants to just handle this all on her own so no one she loves will get hurt.
That's why, if Ace tells her that he doesn't want to fight, that's fine. She won't force him to do anything he doesn't want to do.
Yuu tells him that she'll fight for the both of them, so he doesn't have to enter such a scary battlefield. He can just leave everything to her.
This is the moment when Ace snaps because he hates this side of Yuu who's always trying to handle everything on her own, and it especially pisses him off that she's saying she'll fight for his sake to keep him safe when he didn't ask for that!
Getting progressively worked up cause Yuu hit a nerve, Ace shouts at her, asking why she always has to be the one to clean up everyone else's messes. Why can't she be the one who just sits back and stays where it's safe? Why is the magicless student doing all the fighting, facing all the scary crazy mages, time and time again?
Even though Yuu had hoped Ace would get upset if she started acting like how she did in the past and that would, in turn, lead to him waking up, she's caught off guard by just how upset Ace is and how he's more afraid of HER going up against Malleus than he is about facing Malleus himself.
Ace tells Yuu that she should just stay here with him, here where she can travel between worlds and be happy. No one will ever hurt her again here. She won't have to suffer anymore.
Much to Yuu's dismay, darkness suddenly starts surrounding her and Ace, similar to what happened when Silver had his breakdown in Lilia's dream.
Tendrils of darkness shoot out and latch onto Yuu, because they're reacting to Ace's desire to keep her here with him and because this is the perfect chance to target her, like the darkness has been doing in all the other dreams.
Seeing this, everyone, who had been secretly watching from the sidelines, begins to panic.
Without hesitation, all of Yuu's sons as well as Cater and Silver hurry to her rescue, ignoring Leona who had wanted them to wait to see what Yuu is going to do since he expects that Yuu has a plan.
And Yuu DID have a plan for this type of situation, but she wasn't expecting the darkness to be so powerful due to it being heavily influenced by Ace's emotions.
It's why Yuu is finding it difficult to breathe and remain consciousness since the power of the darkness is that overwhelming.
Unfortunately, before the others can reach Yuu, Dream Riddle and Dream Trey along with Dream Cater and Dream Deuce all show up to prevent Yuu's friends from reaching Ace and Yuu and ruining their "celebration".
Knowing she's on her own, Yuu powers through the debilitating effects of the darkness so she can continue talking to Ace, whom she needs to get through to if she hopes to stand a chance of surviving the darkness.
Yuu starts talking about how much she hates being the center of attention. Being the kind of protag who saves the day really doesn't suit her, no matter how much others will say otherwise.
She doesn't think she's cut out to be a hero, like the heroes she admired back in her world.
However, while she's not a hero, Yuu is definitely a busybody. She can't stop herself from getting involved in matters that involve her friends cause, after spending so many years with nothing, she really treasures what she has now, those friendships which are the most important thing to her in her life.
If she could avoid fighting completely, she would, because Yuu doesn't want to be on the battlefield anymore. She doesn't want to have to continuously keep fighting for survival.
But, if it's for her friends' sake, Yuu will keep on fighting. That's why she'll face Malleus, no matter what, because he's important to her and she doesn't want him to be alone anymore since she knows exactly how painful loneliness can be after spending the last ten-plus years without anyone to love or be loved by.
Never once has Yuu felt like she was being forced to do something against her will. All of the battles she has taken part in were of her choosing because, after losing so much, she physically and mentally just can't handle losing anything else, so she's fighting just as much for her own sake as she is for anyone else's.
Yuu admits that she wouldn't have gotten this far if she was fighting alone, like she always did back in her world for the sake of survival. It's only cause she had her friends fighting with her that she could keep taking on all this crazy, strong mages.
With tears in her eyes, Yuu tells Ace that, if she's being honest, she doesn't want to leave him behind despite how much she wants him to be safe because she wants to fight with him by her side, like they've done for so many overblot battles.
Yuu: *with tears streaming down her cheeks* Because, if you, Grim, and Deuce aren't with me, I get really lonely! That's why I've been looking forward to reaching your dreams all this time! I missed you! So much!
It's that confession and the fact that Yuu is crying that hits Ace the hardest and causes him to come to his senses, which had been affected by the darkness, making him not see just how much he was actually hurting Yuu, and realize what he's unintentionally doing to Yuu with the darkness.
Panicked, Ace tries to pull Yuu out of the darkness, but it just begins to pool under him and make him start to sink like he's in quicksand, much to their collective dismay.
Thankfully, it's around that time that Cater, who had his clones help him get past the darkness army via throwing him into the air, arrives on the scene, surprising Yuu and Ace.
Immediately, Cater grabs onto both of them, all the while praising Yuu for being honest about her feelings.
Since Ace still isn't technically awake yet, although he is somewhat, and this really needs to happen to get this darkness situation under control, Cater, as he's doing his best to pull the pair out of the darkness without much success, decides that he'll be honest like Yuu and talks to Ace about Riddle's overblot, like he did in canon.
Cater confesses how he felt back then and how much Ace, Yuu, and the others helped him to stay and fight and not run away.
After thanking Ace and Yuu for their past efforts, Cater uses the same line Ace did back then about giving up because you don't know if you can win being really lame.
Like in canon, this is what gets Ace to fully wake up since Cater's words, in addition to his desire to save Yuu, give Ace the motivation to fight harder and finally wake up.
Thanks to Ace waking up, the darkness weakens enough that Cater, with the help of his clones, is able to pull both Yuu and Ace to safety.
From there, things play out like in canon with everyone working together to defeat the now weakened darkness.
As soon as the coast is clear, Yuu throws her arms around Ace and half-heartedly scolds him for being so difficult to wake up, just like he always is whenever he sleeps over at Ramshackle.
Before Ace can complain, Deuce zooms over to the two and throws his arms around them due to him being all emotional cause of what Yuu had said earlier, and Grim is quickly to follow suit, much to the dismay of Ace who complains about them all being too close/clingy.
Chuckling, Cater takes some pictures of the quartet before he goes around giving out head-pats, saying what a good thing it is to have them all together. This is really how it always should be.
This, of course, leads to Ace complaining and telling Cater he should help him rather than just watch like he's some kind of amusing spectacle.
Fortunately for Ace, Ortho chooses that moment to point out that Yuu's current readings are worrisome, so he thinks Silver should treat her since she had been exposed to the darkness for a while, very potent darkness at that.
That's when Grim and the Heartslabyul guys notice just how pale Yuu is, and they promptly freak out, even though Yuu assures them that she'll be okay.
Quickly, Silver approaches Yuu and uses his ring to cleanse her of the darkness' effect, and she thankfully looks a lot better than she did before, although she is noticeably tired.
That's why Ortho advises that she take a break while Ace watches the video that will explain the situation with Malleus to him in greater detail, and Ace also gets an explanation for why the darkness has such a negative effect on Yuu.
Things play out like in canon with Ace being annoyed with the idea of them, the innocent victims, having to clean up Malleus's mess, and ADeuce and Grim have their typical exchanges while Yuu is sitting and taking a breather, enjoying the water from the waterfall which she's able to drink thanks to the cup Leona made with ice magic.
Ace also complains to Yuu about her not mentioning how she'll end up in a nightmare for a 1000 years if Malleus isn't stopped since if he had heard that from the start he would've been more motivated to wake up!
That, in turn, has Yuu raising an eyebrow cause, if Ace wouldn't believe her if she said this was all a dream, why would he believe her if she said she was incompatible with Malleus's UM and in danger of ending up in a nightmare for 1000 years?
Besides, she had planned on bringing that up if the darkness ever attacked her cause then she'd have indisputable proof that she couldn't have a happy ending in Malleus's dream world, but that plan fell through when the darkness reacted to Ace's emotions and went after her since it put some kind of dark veil around him that made it so he didn't realize what the darkness was doing to her. It was completely messing with his senses from what she could gather.
Upon hearing that, Ace can't retort since it's true that he was acting weird earlier and didn't realize that the darkness was hurting her as quickly as he should have.
This leads to Ortho wondering if this is a sign that the darkness has powered up again since they've never seen it do something like this before, and Idia complains about each dream being worst than the last.
Soon after that, like in canon, Silver tries to apologize to Ace for how Sebek acted earlier, which leads to Ace pointing out how Silver, Lilia, and Yuu coddle Sebek to much, the former two especially, which is why Sebek is so bad, much to Sebek's annoyance.
Yuu chimes in that Ace isn't wrong. It's very easy to spoil Sebek cause he's so cute, but the people in his life who love him definitely should be more firm with him from now on.
However, when Ace tries to act like he's the better person and more mature, Yuu says he's one of the most immature people she knows, so he really shouldn't be acting so superior when he's just as bad as Sebek in that he's always so quick to mess with others and say just the right thing to piss them off.
To summarize, Ace and Sebek are Yuu's most problematic sons, along with Grim, due to those troublesome personalities of theirs.
While everyone else gets rightfully amused, Ace and Sebek, along with Grim, who doesn't think it's fair to just throw him in there when he didn't even do anything, get super offended, the former two especially cause they don't want to be lumped together with the likes of Grim who's always causing trouble lol 😂
Meanwhile, Deuce and Ortho start picking on them, telling them that those three should look to them as proper role models, which is obviously the LAST thing those three wanna do 🤣
Before things can get too out of hand, Yuu gets them all to calm down and reminds them that, if they really wanna be mature, they better focus on the task at hand rather than their egos.
That's when Idia pipes up and tries to get things moving along by pointing out that he wants Ace and Deuce to change out of their dorm uniforms into their school uniforms since they don't know for sure what the setting will be like in Trey's dream, which is their next destination.
He also tells Yuu to hurry up and get out of that swimsuit and to never put it on ever again lol
Unfortunately for Idia, while Yuu follows his orders, she does it by doing another magical girl transformation performance and aims all her winks and blown kisses at his tablet, causing him to shriek in dismay while Cater records her and laughs.
Horrified, Ace and Deuce ask if they have to do all that just to change their clothes, and an amused Yuu explains that all they need to do is say the chant. She just does the big show for Idia as a form of fan service.
ADeuce are very relieved that they don't have to do everything that Yuu did, but they still hate the idea of reciting the embarrassing chant.
However, like in canon, they make themselves do it, and Cater gets a recording since he was prepared, unlike in canon, much to their dismay.
From there, things play out like in canon with everyone gathering together and moving onto Trey's dream.
After arriving at Trey's dream, the setting of which is his dorm, everyone finds out that Ace can handle the dream jumping just fine, like Deuce/Cater, since he loves thrill rides, which Yuu had expected since he has mentioned his love of thrill rides before.
When Cater mentions how no one in the Heartslabyul dorm gets sick when things start moving around in their dorm and says they all must have strong inner ears, Yuu get amused by the idea of the Dark Mirror taking that into account when sorting people into this dorm.
After that exchange, Yuu says they should head to the kitchen since, considering all the tantalizing smells that are in the area, that can be the only place where Trey is, which the other Heartslabyul students agree with.
As the group starts moving, Ace resumes the topic of dream hopping and comments that Yuu must enjoy it since she's an adrenaline junkie.
That leads to Yuu sharing that she didn't like the dream hopping prior to Ortho joining the team cause, without him cushioning their fall, she had to go through the experience of falling without knowing if she'd be able to avoid a bad landing.
That's when Grim brings up how many times this year Yuu has fallen from a great height, which leads to the majority of the group sympathetically wincing.
Upon being reminded of what happened Sebek's dream, a guilty Silver apologizes to Yuu once again, and she waves off his apology since he did nothing wrong and he caught her and Grim in the end and ensured they didn't get hurt.
Wanting to move on from this particular topic, Yuu says that since they teamed up with the Shroud brothers it's been smooth sailing for her regarding the dream hopping, and she's been enjoying the trips.
Like in canon, Ace curiously asks how many times she has dream-hopped, and that leads to him finding out that the Heartslabyul guys were the last of Yuu's friends to get woken up.
Unsurprisingly, Ace isn't too pleased about that and gives Yuu a hard time, reminding her that she was the one who said she can't do anything without him and Deuce, so why did she wait so long to come find them?
Knowing that Ace is trying to play it cool but is genuinely upset that she didn't seek his help out immediately, Yuu tells him that she wanted to visit his and Deuce's dreams early on, but it's not like they had a lot of control at the start of this journey when it came to whose dreams they visited.
That's when Ortho and Idia provide the same explanation they did in canon about how they had been so worried about bugs at the start and that things are much smoother now.
After that explanation, Grim says that the original dream-hopping group has done a whole lot up until this point, and Ace and the others would be amazed about everything he's done to get them this far.
Like in canon, Sebek tells Grim not to act so smug when they couldn't have gotten this far without the help of Lilia, Baul, and the humans they've worked with thus far.
It makes Yuu happy to hear Sebek acknowledge that humans have played a role in helping them since it's proof that he is maturing.
However, Yuu corrects Sebek and reminds him about how Grim fought the darkness back in Mickey's dream without any help before Silver showed up on the scene.
While Yuu was doing the best she could with Malleus's ring, back when it still had enough power to fend off the darkness, at the time, Grim was working the hardest to fight off the darkness to protect her, which Silver agrees with.
This revelation understandably really shocks Ace and Deuce since they really weren't expecting Mickey's name to suddenly get brought up lol
So Yuu has to quickly explain what happened with Mickey and how she and Grim ended up in his dream rather than their own separate dreams, which everyone who is hearing this for the first time finds strange.
Leona, in particular, thinks its suspicious how all these unexplainable phenomena keep happening around Yuu. It makes him think there's more going on here than just Malleus's UM being incompatible with Yuu.
Anyway, after everyone is brought up to speed about Mickey, the focus returns to Grim, who acts like he does in canon and doesn't get nearly as smug as the others had expected.
Yuu thinks it's cute that Grim actually seems a little bashful. Meanwhile, Ace and Deuce give Grim a hard time like they do in canon, and an annoyed Grim defends himself, pointing out that he's done so many amazing things that it would take too long to talk about.
This leads to Ace and Deuce telling Yuu that she'll have to tell them all about everything that happened up until she and Grim reached their dreams, so they can get her POV of what Grim has been doing.
And Yuu promises that they'll all catch up once this is all over, although she's not looking forward to talking about certain incidents from past dreams for obvious reasons.
Around that time, the group reaches the kitchen and takes note of all the delicious smells in the air.
Like in canon, Cater stops the group before they enter the kitchen and says it'd be better if the whole group doesn't go inside since they have no idea who all is in there.
The next canon divergence happens after Cater decides that Idia and Leona have to be on the scouting team with him.
Before going inside the kitchen, Cater tells Yuu that he'd like to also bring her along since Trey's a huge softie toward her, and they could definitely use that to their advantage.
However, there's a chance that she has a dream counterpart here since she and Grim visit the Heartslabyul dorm so much.
That's why Cater tells Yuu to wait until they've figured out who all is inside the kitchen. If they find out that a Yuu isn't there, then Yuu should come in and make it seem like she's here to pay Trey a visit.
While Grim complains about Yuu getting the chance to go where all the tasty smells are coming from, Ace and Deuce shush him before saying he'll just risk ruining things by eating something he shouldn't and they REALLY don't want to risk getting on Trey's bad side.
Since Yuu also thinks she'd be useful on the scouting team, especially considering how uncooperative Leona/Idia are, she agrees to join them if the coast is clear.
With that decided, the scouting team enters the kitchen, and everything plays out like in canon with the group discovering that only Trey and Che'nya are in there.
Upon hearing that Che'nya is the dorm leader in this dream, Yuu is surprised since he's an RSA student which she explains to the others, along with Ace and Deuce.
Unlike in canon, Ortho knows who Che'nya is cause he happens to see Che'nya in an event that happens before Book 7, although they have never had a proper interaction.
Going back to Yuu, she wonders why Riddle isn't the dorm leader since she knows Trey doesn't have a problem with Riddle.
Because she knows how much Trey cares about Riddle, Yuu figures there must be a reason for this unexpected turn of events that doesn't in any way involve any negative feelings on Trey's part, like what she believes was the case in Cater's dream.
Also, unlike Cater, Yuu never thought that Trey considered all the baking he did as a chore. She knows Trey likes baking like she does, so it doesn't surprise her at all that in his dream he gets a huge kitchen and gets to do a lot of baking since that sounds like a really nice dream that she'd love to have lol
Unlike in canon, once the scouting team realizes that Riddle isn't the dorm leader in Trey's dream, Leona and Idia don't make any of their usual snarky remarks cause they know Yuu is listening and that she'll come after their asses if they badmouth Trey again 😂
Instead, during that time, Yuu enters the kitchen cause it looks like the only people in the kitchen are Trey and Che'nya, after, of course, ordering Grim and the rest of her sons to behave themselves and not cause trouble for Silver, earning herself a lot of offended looks lol
From there, the scouting team, Yuu included, approaches Trey and Che'nya, with Cater leading the pack.
When Trey identifies Cater as being a clone and says it's cause he looks a lot different from how Cater normally looks, that garners Yuu's attention since, while she can usually tell the difference between Cater and his clones after she talks to them, she has never noticed the difference from sight alone.
This makes Yuu wonder just how Cater looks like in this dream since it's obviously not gonna be how they're expecting.
Yuu is soon pulled out of her thoughts when Che'nya glomps her and says he's happy his favorite Koneko-chan came to pay a visit.
While Idia and Leona are surprised by this turn of events, Cater quietly tells them this is normal since the real Che'nya is quite fond of Yuu, making Idia marvel over how it's only a matter of time before all of RSA succumbs to Yuu's OP protag powers! lol
Meanwhile, Trey chides Che'nya for invading Yuu's personal space all the time, and Che'nya waves him off cause Yuu doesn't mind, right?
Yuu confirms that she doesn't mind since she loves any and all cats, making Che'nya laugh and Trey fondly shake his head.
Deciding to leave those two alone, Trey finally brings attention to Leona's and Idia's presence, and Cater provides the same explanation he does in canon.
This, in turn, leads to everyone finding out that Riddle is still a Heartslabyul student, just a card soldier.
The scouting team is very surprised when they hear that Riddle challenged Che'nya for the dorm leader position and lost because of Che'nya's UM which he shows off for Leona and Idia who are unfamiliar with it.
Yuu had no idea that Che'nya could activate his UM faster than Riddle could. She's really impressed since not many people can avoid Riddle's powerful UM.
However, Yuu is surprised that Riddle still lost since he could've just used other powerful spells on Che'nya. It's not like Riddle only has his UM up his sleeve.
She's soon pulled out of her thoughts when Che'nya brings up how he pulled Riddle up by his pants and pulled the kind of move the Cheshire Cat did to the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland.
Yuu does her best not to laugh for Riddle's sake, but she is extremely amused by this particular Disney movie parallel.
Soon after that, Yuu gets an answer to her earlier question when Trey points out that Riddle held back because his opponent was Che'nya. That's the reason Riddle didn't use any other spells against Che'nya.
Yuu finds this strange since the Riddle back then wouldn't have held back against anyone, not even Trey and Che'nya, because of how bad things had gotten on his end, but she can understand why Trey would want things to be different in his dream.
From there, things play out like they do in canon with Che'nya eventually taking his leave, so he can do his own thing, although he says he'll go to the unbirthday party if Yuu will be there.
When Trey later leaves to check on a cake that's in the oven, the scouting team discusses what they've learned so far and wonder how they can wake up Trey since all the differences in his dream are overall minor and not something they can really make use of.
Yuu suggests just spending some more talking to Trey. If nothing so far is something they can use, they gotta wait until Trey says something that's so far from reality that it could be used against him.
Around that time, Trey, like in canon, asks the group if they want to be his taste-testers, and Yuu agrees to the idea. However, she wants Trey to take a break and join them for tea since he's got a bad habit of not doing that enough, especially when he's on a roll in the kitchen and can't bring himself to stop.
Leona also chimes in that Trey will get better feedback from watching them eat and points out that he's got a very discerning palate, like he does in canon.
That leads to Trey agreeing to join the scouting team as they, sans Idia, try the food Trey made.
Because of what happened in Cater's dream, there's some slight hesitancy on Yuu's end since she immediately finds herself recalling what happened when the Dream Trey forced her to eat the "food" it made.
However, Yuu is confident that this food isn't dangerous cause it was made by the dreamer, and she also doesn't want to upset Trey, so she pushes past her apprehension and enjoys all the sweets that are just as heavenly as she was expecting them to be.
The taste-testing scene is like it is in canon with the only slight difference being that Trey makes sure Yuu gets a lot of different treats to choose from and he encourages her to eat her fill since she's always working so hard and he always values her input.
That's when Cater looks at Leona and Idia's tablet and gives them a "See?" gesture cause this supports his earlier claim about Trey having a soft spot for Yuu, not that Leona/Idia really doubted that since Yuu has that kind of effect on a lot of people, and Yuu always speaks highly of Trey so it makes sense that he always treats her really well.
When Trey later leaves the table to make some savory cookies and gets caught up preparing a lot of different stuff as well as bringing even more treats to Yuu and the others, Yuu finds herself thinking of all the times Ruggie has tried to overfeed her, although she is happy to be surrounded by Trey-made sweets since she loves them so much lol
Much to Yuu's surprise, after Leona complains about how Trey hardly sits down, not giving them much of a chance to get any info they can use out of him, Cater tells her that he thinks she's really amazing, being able to do so many of these dream visits.
Upon noticing her confusion, Cater elaborates that he'd have a difficult time ruining everyone's happy dreams. He doesn't think he could've done the job Yuu and the others have been doing since the start, even though he understands why they have to do this.
While Leona gives Cater a hard time, like he does in canon, cause of how Cater talked to Ace in Ace's dream, Yuu says that Cater's feelings are perfectly valid.
After all, despite how many dreams she has visited, Yuu still feels uncomfortable ruining everyone's happy dreams despite knowing it's what they would want in the end, so she doesn't blame Cater for being reluctant to wake up Trey despite how he acted in Ace's dream.
With a sigh, Cater says watching Trey in his dream makes him wonder if Trey would be so much happier if that incident with Riddle's mother didn't happen in the past, and Yuu winces sympathetically since she understands what he's getting at.
Meanwhile, Leona and Idia are wondering what the two are talking about since they obviously don't know anything about Trey/Riddle's past.
That's when Trey makes a reappearance with the sticky toffee pudding, and Leona makes him sit down to help them eat the huge surplus of food Trey prepared.
From there, things proceed like in canon with the group getting Trey to talk in hopes of gaining info they can make use of.
Eventually, that happens when Trey starts talking about how Riddle can eat whatever he wants and as much as he likes cause Yuu knows that's not how the real Riddle is.
The real Riddle always follows the strict eating regimen his mother has had him follow all his life, although he is more lenient with himself during unbirthday parties and whenever strawberry tarts are involved since he loves them so much.
While Yuu has gotten Riddle to relax a little bit in this area since it worried her how light he was at the very beginning of the school year, she knows that Riddle would never overindulge no matter what.
However, considering how Trey likes to dote on Riddle, she can understand how Riddle could turn out like that in Trey's dream since Trey would prefer that Riddle eat as much as he wants, like how Ruggie likes to overfeed her.
Meanwhile, as Yuu is reflecting on this, Leona questions Trey's words about Riddle since he can tell there's a story behind them, like he does in canon.
And that's how Leona and Idia learn about how Trey and Che'nya used to sneak Riddle out of his house to play and how Riddle's mom gave the Clover family a five hour lecture when she found out.
While Trey tries to play off what happened back then, Yuu knows that he was traumatized by it since that played a role in why Trey was so reluctant to stop Riddle back in Book 1.
When Trey leaves the table to check on the cookies, Yuu confirms Cater's suspicion that Trey was traumatized by what happened, although, even in real life, Trey acts like he wasn't and tries to act like what happened wasn't a big deal since that's just how he copes.
When Idia wonders how Trey can act as Riddle's vice dorm leader since he would wanna stay far away from Riddle if it was him in Trey's shoes, Yuu says that Trey told her he was nominated by the other members to be the vice dorm leader.
Cater nods before going into detail about what happened back then like he does in canon.
After they finish discussing what Trey went through in the past, Cater says it's likely that Trey wondered if things would've been better back then if Che'nya had been around.
It's at that moment Yuu finally puts the puzzle pieces together and answers the questions that had been plaguing her mind.
Yuu: Ah, I get it now. That's why Riddle-senpai isn't the dorm leader in Trey-senpai's dream or Cater-senpai's dream.
Yuu: *smiles* Heh, just as I thought, Leona-senpai and Idia-senpai were wrong about Trey-senpai and Cater-senpai.
This instantly earns the others' attention and Idia asks if they're finally addressing the elephant in the room that he's bee too scared to bring up cause of how mad she got in Cater's dream lol
Meanwhile, Leona sarcastically tells Yuu to elaborate since he's DYING to know what new realization she has come to that proves he and Idia are wrong.
Cater is also really curious since even he hasn't completely figured out why he was the dorm leader in his dream since he has never wished to be the dorm leader.
Yuu explains that both Trey and Cater were actually looking out for Riddle in their dreams. They thought he'd be better off if he wasn't in that position.
While Leona/Idia are unsurprisingly skeptical, Yuu once again brings up the fact that those two are the guys who complain about being dorm leaders the most cause, while it comes with benefits, it's still a job that can be a real pain in the ass.
However, Yuu thinks no dorm leader has it more difficult than Riddle, because, unlike Leona/Idia, he never cuts corners and completes all of his responsibilities to the letter.
Not only that, Riddle has all the Queen of Hearts' rules that he has to abide by and make everyone else follow too, which just makes his job even harder.
However, the most stressful part of his position is without question having Ace and Deuce as his card soldiers since there's always something going on with those two knuckleheads.
No matter how much she loves her best friends, Yuu can acknowledge what a handful they are, so she can say with complete confidence that no dorm leader has it harder than Riddle and no dorm leader has experienced stress on the same level as him lol 😂
While Cater just nods along, Idia and Leona can't say anything since they've heard about the ADeuce combo's antics lol
Because of how stressful the dorm leader position is, Yuu thinks that Trey and Cater both took that away from Riddle so Riddle could get the chance to live like a normal teen, or at least, a slightly more teen.
That would explain why in Cater's dream Riddle was a DJ of all things and why Che'nya is the dorm leader in Trey's dream and that Riddle is eating his fill here.
While Yuu is sure Trey wanted to avoid all the stress that happened in the past by making Che'nya the dorm leader, she thinks the main reason Trey's dream is the way it is is because this setting allows Riddle to be stress free and happy.
No matter how cynical Leona/Idia get with their comments, Yuu will stand by this belief that Cater/Trey just wanted to see Riddle happy in their dreams because Yuu knows that Cater/Trey care about Riddle, way more than Leona/Idia think.
Yuu surprises the group when she says that she has noticed all four Heartslabyul dreams they've visited so far have something in common.
In each dream, the card soldiers were thinking of someone else's happiness. Ace and Deuce were thinking of Yuu while Cater and Trey were thinking of Riddle.
Yuu: *grins* When you consider what we've seen, I can't help but think that Riddle-senpai's card soldiers are all a bunch of sweethearts. Hehe~
While Cater gets embarrassed and tries to tell Yuu that she's looking way too much into things, Yuu ignores him and says that this is why she likes the Heartslabyul boys so much.
It's stuff like this that makes Yuu glad that Heartslabyul was the first dorm she got to know. She's really glad this is the dorm she's an unofficial member of.
Cater quickly throws his arms around her and gushes about how her current happy expression is way too cute. It's so unfair!
Meanwhile, Leona and Idia are just rolling their eyes. However, they don't say anything negative cause they're smart enough not to pick a fight with Yuu that they can't win.
Plus, as she's pointed out previously, Yuu knows the Heartslabyul boys better than they do, so it's entirely possible that her theory about Cater's and Trey's dreams is right.
However, Leona does try to get things on track by pointing out that he's done sitting around. He's ready to wake Trey up by force so they can finally move on.
From there, things proceed like in canon with Idia shooting down Leona's idea and things going crazy with the arrival of Silver and Yuu's sons.
When Yuu finally sees the Dream Ace and Dream Deuce of this dream, she screams like the rest of the scouting group, and it only gets worse when Dream Riddle and Dream Cater show up.
Immediately, Yuu realizes why Trey thought Cater was a clone cause the ridiculous size difference lol
When Trey shows up after hearing the screaming and acts like nothing is out of the ordinary until he sees two Aces and Deuces, Yuu rushes over to him and starts comically pounding on his chest, telling him to wake up this instant cause she wants out of this nightmare ASAP 😂
Yuu says it's all well and good to indulge his dormmates but this is ridiculous! Besides, there's no way she would allow him to fatten up her sons this much! This is way too scary! Even scarier than Buff Epel and Jolly Jamil!
Yuu also complains about what Trey did to Riddle cause Riddle's small stature is what makes him so cute! Trey should know that better than anyone! Why would he ruin Riddle's charm point?!
Yuu is extremely unsettled by this dream and is on the verge of tears cause she's so freaked out. She's gonna have nightmares about this!
She also points out that Trey, when he's perfectly sane, wouldn't allow any of the guys from his dorm eat this much since it'd be bad for their teeth and there's nothing more important to Trey than dental hygenie.
Like in canon, Ace, Deuce, and Cater also throw in their own commentary, begging Trey to wake up lol
As Trey begins to get dizzy and start showing signs of waking up, Dream Ace and Dream Deuce make their move and start attacking everyone, which leads to poor Silver getting bowled over and the others having to run.
The sole exception is Yuu cause she's so close to Trey, so she's saved from getting chased.
However, she's not out of the danger zone since Dream Riddle and Dream Cater are there, trying to pull Trey into a deeper slumber.
Because they're now so close to Trey and her and are in their darkness forms, Yuu begins to feel weakened by the darkness, which somehow feels even stronger in Trey's dream, making her wonder if this trend will continue in Riddle's dream.
If so, Riddle's dream is something she'll be dreading even more than before.
Taking notice of Yuu's weakened condition and how he has to help her stay upright, Trey gets worried and asks Yuu what's wrong.
Dream Riddle thinks Yuu must be feeing anemic. Obviously, she needs to eat more since she's so small, like how he used to be. This is why he's always telling Yuu to eat more and not do all the exercising she always does to maintain her current figure.
This causes Trey to flashback to the scene following Riddle's overblot where Yuu picks an unconscious Riddle up and gets upset about how light Riddle is which leads to her going after Trey.
Trey also remembers how Yuu encouraged Riddle to be slightly more lenient with his strict diet, although she never pushed him to overindulge like Riddle did in Trey's dream since she knew Riddle would never want to do that.
These memories don't fit into the setting of Trey's dream, but he can tell they're not fake, so Trey gets another step closer to waking up.
Dream Cater tries to get Trey to hand Yuu over to him so Trey can continue with the unbirthday party preparations. He promises to take good care of Yuu and make sure she eats a lot to regain her strength, and Dream Riddle agrees with him.
When Yuu starts tightly clinging onto him, shaking all the while, Trey knows that means she doesn't want him to hand her over and that really stands out to him since she knows how much Yuu trusts the real Cater.
Plus, Trey doesn't think the real Riddle and Cater would want the unbirthday party to be prioritized when Yuu looks this bad off.
This is what finally wakes Trey up, similar to how Cater woke up when he saw how the Dream Riddle and Dream Trey treated Yuu in his dream.
At that moment, the rest of the group drop in like they do in canon, and Trey takes advantage of their timely distraction to put some distance between him and the Dream Riddle/Cater, taking along Yuu who can't currently do much on her own right now.
Like in canon, Trey tells the group that he's okay and has woken up, but he says that Yuu is in bad shape.
Leona tells him that Silver can help her. In the meantime, Trey should be responsible for dealing with the Dream Riddle/Cater.
So while that fight is going on, like it does in canon, Sebek, who took Yuu from Trey before the fight began, brings her over to Silver, who uses his ring to help her.
Thankfully, by the time the fight ends, Yuu is feeling better, but she needs to take a seat in a chair that gets brought to her by Deuce since she's pretty exhausted thanks to everything that she has gone through in the last four dreams.
Yuu shares with the group that the darkness was even stronger in this dream than it was in Ace's dream, so she's nervous about what Riddle's dream will be like, considering how dorm leaders' dreams have gone thus far.
Idia says that sounds super foreboding, and he wishes she wouldn't make comments like that since now he's sure something will go horribly wrong lol
Leona asks the Shroud brothers if there's really nothing they can glean from what's been going on with the darkness and Yuu since it's all really suspicious.
Unfortunately, Idia and Ortho have been making an effort to figure things out along with the guys from Styx, but they're not any closer to finding an answer.
Yuu's sons are naturally not happy about this since they don't like seeing Yuu so worn out and constantly in danger. She does her best to reassure them after thanking them for worrying about her.
Around that time, Trey, along with Cater, defeats the darkness, and things play out like in canon with him getting an explanation about what's going on/sees the video Idia made, etc.
The only change from canon is that Trey asks how Yuu is doing and that leads to him getting an explanation about how the darkness is targeting her cause she's incompatible with Malleus's UM, which horrifies him just as much as it has everyone else.
And when Trey asks why they haven't visited Riddle's dream yet, he gets told about how the other dorm leaders' dreams affected Yuu, which is why they wanted to save Riddle for last, especially considering how strong the darkness has been lately, giving them the impression that waking Riddle up will be the most difficult task the dream-hopping team has faced yet.
Ace tries to lighten things up, saying that he's sure Riddle's dream will be something like everyone in the dorm knowing all the Queen of Hearts' rules and never breaking them so at least it won't be anything extreme.
While she doesn't say as much, Yuu isn't too confident about that since she doubts a dream like that would make Riddle truly happy.
A happy dream for Riddle is likely one where things are different with his mother and they have a more normal, loving relationship since Yuu knows how highly Riddle thinks of his mother and how he has always wanted to have a close relationship with her like the kind most kids have with their moms.
Anyway, although Trey isn't too confident that he'll be much help, he agrees to join the team cause he wants to do what he can and now he's worried about Yuu, which leads to Cater teasingly pointing out his soft spot for Yuu, earning him an exasperated look from Trey.
When Sebek quietly thanks Trey, like he does in canon, Yuu tells him to speak with a louder voice when he's thanking someone. Why is it only during moments like this that Sebek gets so quiet?
Meanwhile, Ace gives Sebek a hard time, like he does in canon, which leads to Trey and Silver apologizing to each other, like they're Ace's and Sebek's parents, much to the amusement of Yuu who says it's like she's co-parenting with them, which embarrasses Trey lol
When Trey's dummy data gets downloaded and they talk about Trey's dream outfit, Yuu says she thinks it looks really cool and that it suits Trey. Trey thanks her but get all embarrassed, like he usually does whenever she compliments his appearance.
Upon seeing Trey later move to grab a strawberry tart for Riddle, Yuu, like Sebek, wonders if the tart will survive the dream hopping, but she doesn't say anything since she's sure Riddle will happily accept it regardless of how it looks if Trey manages to keep hold of it.
Once that's all settled, the group decides to move onto Riddle's dream, although there's some noticeable tension as compared to how things were in canon due to the majority of the group basically expecting the worst in Riddle's dream.
From there, things proceed like in canon with everyone hopping over to Riddle's dream and Trey losing his glasses in the process.
Yuu isn't the least bit surprised when Ace reveals that he managed to grab Trey's glasses using his magic cause she knows how dexterous he is.
She's quick to praise Ace for what he did, but when he gets all smug and Grim and Deuce start pointing out the real reason why Ace got so good with his magic, Yuu joins the teasing since she never passes up a chance to mess with Ace.
After that, Yuu finally starts looking around, and she realizes this scenery looks familiar. Her suspicions are confirmed when Trey, after getting his glasses, says this is Crimson City, the capital of the Queendom of Roses and Riddle/Trey's hometown.
Immediately, Yuu suspects that the dream will indeed have something to do with things improving between Riddle and his mother, making her wonder if the two will be happily spending time together like a normal family.
If so, Yuu will need to exercise a lot of self-restraint cause if she sees Riddle's mom she'll be tempted to fight her since she really does not like the woman lol
She's soon pulled away from her thoughts when Ortho mentions that there should be a patisserie up ahead with the Clover name according to his data and asks Trey if he's connected to it, which leads to Trey confirming that's his family's patisserie.
When Ace gets all excited and wants to go, Yuu tells him she understands that desire, but they have to find Riddle, which reminds Ace of why they're here in the first place.
From there, things play out like in canon with the guys changing into their school uniforms, with the plan of visiting Riddle's house even though no one wants to meet his mother lol
When they hear a cop siren and Deuce freaks out, Yuu gets amused since she's sure he's flashing back to his delinquent years and she assures him that the cop isn't coming after them since they didn't do anything wrong.
Although she begins to have some doubts when the cop car stops nearby since her luck is awful enough that she could see cops coming after her despite her not doing anything wrong lol
When Riddle makes his appearance, Yuu is just as shocked as everyone else when she sees him dressed like a punk and acting the exact opposite of the prim, proper rule-follower she knows him as, especially when he uses bad words native to his home country 😂
However, that said, Yuu thinks Riddle looks really cute. This is definitely her favorite dream outfit. It makes her wish Riddle would dress up more often cause someone as adorable as him could rock so many different looks.
When Yuu expresses how much she likes Riddle's new look, the others get really shocked, and Cater asks her if punk boys are her type lol
Shrugging, Yuu says that she just likes how adorable Riddle looks. He's really rocking the punk look.
The Heartslabyul boys just don't know how to deal with all of this, both Riddle's whole situation and Yuu's excitement. They're so overwhelmed lol 😂
Meanwhile, Yuu is beginning to think that Riddle's ideal happy ending is something even more different than she originally thought. By the looks of it, he has completely changed his backstory since she knows his overbearing mother wouldn't let him act like this.
This doesn't surprise Yuu too much since she thinks, if she actually ended up in her own dream, that she would've likely dreamed about having always lived in TW so she wouldn't have had to suffer through everything she did back in her world.
Yet, at the same time, she doesn't know if her imagination could pull it off, despite how strong it is, since the person she is now is the result of everything she went through in the past, and she knows that she would never want to forget about Midoriya and All Might.
Still, Yuu completely understands the appeal of wanting to rewrite the past to something that's a lot happier, so if that really is the case here, she wouldn't blame Riddle at all for wanting this.
Yuu is pulled away from her musings when Riddle and Che'nya approach her group after overhearing Trey's name. She thinks it's cute when Riddle gets so happy to see Trey and hugs him.
After Trey gives an excuse for why he's back in town, everyone ends up introducing themselves to Riddle and Che'nya.
Much to Yuu's surprise, after her introduction, Riddle beams and says he has heard all about the "super cute" girl who's just started attending Trey's school from Trey, causing Trey to make a choked noise while Cater grins teasingly at him.
When Che'nya nods along and says they've heard a lot about Yuu, Yuu, after she overcomes her surprise, grins at an embarrassed Trey and says she's flattered that he's been speaking so highly of her, unable to resist teasing him, much to his dismay.
Yuu says that Trey takes good care of her at school. She's very lucky to have such a reliable upperclassman, which only further embarrasses Trey, who gets teased by Cater.
Yuu also takes this opportunity to tell Riddle that he's also super cute and that she loves his outfit, figuring this may be her only chance to get away with calling Riddle cute since he's like Epel in that regard lol
Thankfully, as she had hoped, Riddle happily accepts her compliment and thanks her.
Not long after that exchange, Riddle, like he does in canon, asks everyone if they'd like to join his band, catching everyone off guard.
Yuu is both incredibly amused by this turn of events since it's so not what anyone was expecting for Riddle's dream and grateful for this opportunity Riddle just provided everyone to spend time with him and use that time to wake him up.
That's why she agrees with Cater that it's best to join Riddle's band, and when it later comes time for Yuu to say what she can contribute, she says that she knows a little piano thanks to music class so she could try to be the keyboardist.
Because Cater is present, Yuu tries to downplay her piano-playing abilities and make it sound like she really doesn't know much like how Leona is with the drums since she really doesn't want the Pop Music Club to know the truth since that'll lead to them enthusiastically trying to recruit her lol 😂
The next canon divergence happens after Riddle says that they can all have a meeting at his house since it's almost teatime.
Everyone is noticeably surprised by this suggestion, and there's also plenty of wariness since no one wants to meet Riddle's mom lol
Yuu is the only one who's not nervous since she's expecting Riddle's mom to be different based on how Riddle has been acting.
That's why, when Trey starts to protest and get nervous, Yuu subtly gets his attention and shakes her head to signal that he shouldn't question things too much, so as a result, Trey doesn't ask Riddle about how Riddle's mom banned Trey and Che'nya from the Rosehearts home.
Later, once Riddle decides to lead the way to his house, Yuu quietly tells Trey that Riddle's mom is sure to be different in this dream since the overbearing woman they know would never allow Riddle to act like this. Rather, he'd be locked up indoors, studying.
That's why Yuu doesn't think anything from their past in reality happened here, so she tells Trey to expect a lot of differences from reality.
Since her reasoning makes sense, Trey begins to settle down a little, although he's still nervous about going to Riddle's house due to what he went through in the past cause of Riddle's mom.
When he asks whether or not he should throw away the tart he brought along, Yuu advises to keep it since she really doubts that Riddle's mom will get upset and it might prove useful to them later.
Plus, they can always give it to Grim if necessary, which Grim wholeheartedly agrees with.
The trip to Riddle's house is mostly like in canon, with Yuu remaining close to Trey cause she knows this is gonna take a severe mental toll on him despite him trying to act like he's fine.
However, when everyone is talking about how fearsome Riddle's mom is and Sebek said no one could be scarier than Maleanor, Yuu surprises everyone when she said those two ladies are evenly matched in her opinion.
This is when it gets brought up how Yuu had seen Riddle's memories in the past, so it's not just Trey who knows what Riddle's mom is like.
While Riddle's mom evokes more anger than fear when Yuu is concerned, she thinks almost anyone who meets her would be incredibly intimidated since that's just the kind of aura she has.
When the others get nervous, Yuu assures them that the chances are low of Riddle's mom being that bad in his dream since his real mother wouldn't allow him to dress like a punk or get regularly picked up by the police.
Not long after that, Yuu notices that Leona is silently staring at Riddle, wearing an expression she can't read, like Ortho who questions him about it.
Like in canon, Leona waves off the question, but Yuu wants to pursue it since it's likely he has noticed something important, considering how he is.
Unfortunately, before Yuu can try to talk to him, Yuu's group arrives at Riddle's house.
Much to Yuu's great surprise and dismay, as soon as she reaches the sidewalk in front of Riddle's house, she suddenly starts feeling really weak and grows pale, like what happens when she comes into contact with darkness, which is strange since she doesn't see any and Ortho's sensors haven't been alerted.
Trey is the first to notice since he's at the back of the group with her and right beside her, and he immediately tries to support her and worriedly asks what's wrong, all the while keeping his voice quiet so Riddle and Che'nya at the front of the group don't notice.
As the rest of friends also take notice of what's going on with Yuu, she says that, for some reason, she can feel the darkness in this dream even though it hasn't shown up and it's near. It has to be inside Riddle's house, and it's incredibly powerful since she can feel it from here.
Immediately, Ortho does a scan of Riddle's house, but nothing comes up on his readings, which makes him wonder how Yuu can now sense darkness even when it's not in fight mode since Ortho can usually only sense it when the darkness is actively trying to put everyone to sleep.
Cater wonders if going to Riddle's house is actually a bad idea if the darkness can affect Yuu to this extent and they're not even inside yet.
Leona says they'd be essentially walking into the lions' den if they entered that house, but it's likely the only way to wake up Riddle.
Yuu agrees and says they have to go. They can't risk straying too far from the dreamer's side, and the sooner they can wake up Riddle, the better. She can tell that this is NOT a dream they should spend a prolonged period of time in, considering how potent the darkness is.
Catching her by surprise, Silver removes his necklace and puts it on her, because he thinks she'll be better off if she's in constant contact with it.
Right after Idia asks if that OP item would even work without Silver, everyone, sans Silver, gets surprised when the ring starts glowing, and Yuu's complexion starts to look better.
Silver nods to himself, saying that he's glad the ring wants to protect her like he does. He had a feeling things would turn out like this, which is why he felt it was a good idea to put the ring on Yuu.
Yuu is very grateful for the gesture since she definitely feels better now thanks to him, but she asks if he really doesn't mind, considering how important that ring is to him, to which he says that what's most important to him is keeping the people he cares about safe.
Like she always does whenever Silver acts all sweet and princely, Yuu's heart skips a beat thanks to irresistible charm. Meanwhile, Cater whistles, impressed by how smooth Silver is. He also gets really amused cause Sebek and ADeuce look jealous lol
Since Yuu is looking better and the group really can't afford to prolong their stay in Riddle's dream, they all agree to stick with the plan of going inside Riddle's house, albeit reluctantly since no one really wants to go in there when it's clearly going to turn into a dangerous situation at some point, considering their luck.
Surprising her friends, Yuu quietly recommends that everyone not eat or drink anything handmade in Riddle's house, unless he made it himself, because the darkness might try to pull the kind of move it did in Cater's dream.
Plus, considering how powerful the darkness feels, Yuu thinks they shouldn't let their guards down with anything in that house, which is giving her a really bad feeling.
Considering Riddle is inviting them over for tea, it would be easy for the darkness to use that to their advantage.
Of course, they can't just outright refuse to eat or drink since that would be rude and likely upset Riddle, so they all just need to pretend to eat and drink whatever they're given.
Since Yuu makes a good point, they all agree to go along with that plan before venturing inside the metaphorical lions' den.
It's a good thing that Silver gave his ring to Yuu since the power of the darkness greatly increases once they're all inside. It's only cause of the ring that Yuu is able to stand since the effects of the darkness are so overwhelming.
Trey remains at her side and supports her as much as he can, and this, in turn, helps keep him somewhat distracted from his traumatic memories since he's more focused on Yuu's situation.
Leona orders Silver to remain at her other side, just in case Silver's presence can in any way have an effect of the strength of the ring's power, giving Yuu's sons no chance to try to take that position like they had wanted to do.
All the while, Yuu comes to a horrifying realization. The darkness doesn't feel like it's coming from one set direction. Instead, it feels like it's everywhere, making Yuu believe this whole house is made of darkness.
She doesn't say this out loud to avoid causing a panic. Plus, since this is only just a theory, she doesn't want to risk being wrong and getting everyone panicked for nothing. That's why she just shares her theory with Ortho so he and Idia can do some investigating, although Leona overhears her due to his sharp hearing.
Like in canon, Riddle calls out to his mother to let her know that he's home and has brought friends, and everyone is surprised by how warm and friendly Riddle's mom sounds.
With the exception of Yuu who had seen this coming since she's sure this is how Riddle has always wished his mother sounded whenever she talked to him.
At the same time this exchange is happening, the group enters the living room that has countless photographs on the walls.
Well except for Trey, Yuu, and Silver cause Trey unintentionally freezes up like he does in canon, and this, in turn, makes Yuu and Silver pause.
Like in canon, Trey tries to play this off when his strange behavior earns him the attention of Riddle and Che'nya, and that's how the group learns that the living room had some changes made to it so more pictures could be put up.
That's when Che'nya brings attention to the fact that Yuu doesn't look so good, causing Riddle to worriedly frown while Yuu's sons start to panic.
With a sheepish smile, Yuu comes up with the excuse that she had recently recovered from a bad cold, and it looks like she's still feeling some of the aftereffects since, as soon as she started feeling better, she left her bed, because she didn't want to miss out on this trip to Trey's hometown that everyone had gotten invited to.
Yuu's friends are quick to go along with that excuse and say stuff like how they had told her to take it easy and not push herself, etc.
Fortunately, Riddle and Che'nya believe them, so Riddle's quick to tell Yuu to take a seat and make herself comfortable before saying that his mother's tea should help her feel better.
While Yuu maintains a poker face upon hearing about his mother's tea as she thanks him, Che'nya brings attention to the tart Trey brought right after Trey takes a seat beside Yuu due to him wanting to stick close to her like Silver.
Things proceed like in canon with Riddle getting excited about the tart and forbidding Grim from eating the first bite, much to Yuu's amusement.
What differs from canon is that Trey isn't as freaked out as he was in canon due to his worry for Yuu keeping him somewhat distracted and the fact that Yuu has been reminding him that things are gonna be different here as compared to reality.
As a result, that exchange about the incident from Trey's past doesn't get brought up around Che'nya.
Instead, the others focus on Yuu's condition, and she does her best to reassure them that she's alright, not that anyone really believes her.
Surprising everyone, Che'nya suddenly summons a water bottle with magic and gives it to Yuu, saying that he got it for himself earlier today but never got around to drinking it so it's unopened.
Rather than tea, Che'nya thinks Yuu could just use some water, which he made cool again with his magic.
Because of Yuu's past warning, the others feel wary, especially since it's likely that Che'nya is the darkness that remains at Riddle's side at all times.
Naturally, Yuu is also a little wary, but at the same time, her instincts are telling her that she can trust Che'nya. He doesn't feel like a threat as compared to everything else in this house.
Remembering how Kifaji and Leona's inner darkness were in Leona's dream, Yuu wonders if Che'nya is similar. Perhaps, because Riddle could never imagine Che'nya treating Yuu unkindly, this Che'nya won't try to go after her like the darkness usually does.
That's why she accepts the water bottle, surprising everyone else, and thanks Che'nya. She says it was lucky for her that the bottle was unopened since she's sure her friends would make a fuss about her drinking after another guy.
While Che'nya laughs, the others realize that Yuu is bringing attention to the fact that the water bottle is unopened and is trying to subtly remind them that handmade consumable items are what they should be the most concerned about.
Of course, everyone is still wary of Che'nya for good reason, but when Yuu takes a sip of the water and shows no signs of being negatively affected by the water, they begin to settle down.
Taking advantage of Che'nya briefly leaving the room so he can tell Riddle that his mother doesn't need to make tea for Yuu, Yuu tells the others that she thinks Che'nya is like how Kifaji and Leona's inner darkness were in Leona's dream after Ace and Sebek give her a hard time for accepting the water bottle.
This leads to Ortho providing a brief summary of how the darkness acted in Leona's dream.
Meanwhile, Leona notes that Che'nya has been paying close attention to Yuu for a while now, but he currently senses no ill intent, so it's possible that that's because he's staying true to character as according to Riddle's imagination.
When Che'nya later returns, the conversation about the photos on the walls happen like it does in canon.
Yuu isn't the least bit surprised by the photos and how there's more focus on Riddle than his parents since he likely can't imagine his parents' happy faces cause of how they are in reality.
When she hears about all the photos of Riddle with Trey and Che'nya, it breaks Yuu's heart since she knows what Riddle wanted more than anything when he was a kid was for those happy times with his childhood friends to continue.
Because she knows they're all fake due to being familiar with Riddle's past, Yuu is the first to notice when Trey starts sweating.
Giving him a sympathetic look, Yuu tells Trey not to think too hard about how different this dream is from reality since it'll just stress him out.
Seeing how this conversation earns the attention of the other upperclassmen, sans Idia whose tablet is talking to Ortho, Trey explains that he has no memories of those photos like he does in canon.
While this alarms the other upperclassmen, Yuu says it's really not that surprising to her since it was obvious to her how much his time with Trey and Che'nya back then meant to Riddle, so it makes perfect sense that Riddle's happy dream involves Riddle having the kind of childhood with them that he had wished he could have had in reality.
With a sad smile, Yuu says that she and Riddle really are a lot alike since, if her imagination was as strong as his, she'd want to rewrite her past and create lots of happy memories too that she could decorate countless walls with.
It's why Yuu has a whole wall covered in photos back in the room she and Grim sleep in at Ramshackle since seeing those physical representations of the precious memories she has made makes her so happy.
That's why she thinks Riddle's dream is completely valid, considering what she knows about his past.
The upperclassmen get quiet about hearing that, and the majority of them are now sporting sad expressions. Trey, in particular, has a rather heartbroken expression upon getting a glimpse of Riddle's true feelings, and Yuu's situation also really tugs at his heartstrings due to her similarities to Riddle.
Catching Yuu by surprise, Cater says that Yuu should've said something sooner! If she wants to cover her dorm with pictures, then he's her guy! He'll have that place decked out with awesome pics in no time once the situation with Malleus is dealt with.
Silver says that he'd be happy to help with putting things up on the wall since he's not the best at picture-taking, and he'll move anything else that needs to be rearranged.
Leona says Yuu should make Malleus buy her a bunch of picture frames since it's the least he can do after all the trouble he's caused.
Trey ruffles Yuu's hair and says he probably won't be much help but he'll do what he can and he'll tell Riddle since he's sure Riddle will also want to help.
Once she overcomes her surprise, Yuu beams as she thanks them, all the while feeling incredibly happy since she'd love nothing more than to completely decorate her dorm with pictures of everyone she loves.
Around that time, Riddle returns with the tea and snacks, and that scene is mostly like in canon cause, as soon as he sees the food, Grim forgets about Yuu's earlier warning and tries the stuff that Riddle's mom made, much to her exasperation.
And when Grim reacts in surprise to the favor but otherwise seems fine, everyone else decides to try it after Ortho scans everything and doesn't pick up anything dangerous, with the exception of Yuu, who still doesn't trust the stuff.
When Trey reels off the actual ingredients used in the snacks Riddle's mom made, Yuu instantly realizes that this is the limit of Riddle's imagination. When it comes to his mother's cooking, all he can imagine is the super nutritional stuff she made in reality, which sounds like a nightmare scenario to her.
Like in canon, after everyone tries the snacks, the topic of magic gets brought up, and Riddle reveals that he's magicless and that his parents are too.
Everyone is shocked except for Yuu cause she quickly realizes that Riddle's magic was essentially the cause of all the stress he endured in reality. If his family was magicless, his mother wouldn't have been so insistent on him being a great medical mage. His life would've definitely been completely different from reality.
Yuu had figured that Riddle had completely rewritten his past but she didn't consider him erasing his magic, but now she realizes it should've been obvious to her.
After all, if being Quirkless would've made her life better, Yuu's sure she would've gone that route in her dream world since she'd take a happy family over a special power anyday.
Like everyone else, Yuu is surprised when Riddle gets angry about the others whispering amongst themselves, but she's also a little relieved since that means the Riddle they all know is still there and can be reached despite all his current memories being completely fabricated.
Yuu is also surprised when Riddle says that he doesn't go to school and that he hates school/studying since she never got the impression that Riddle had negative feelings about school, although she can understand the idea of Riddle wanting a life where he's not tied down by anything and do whatever he wants since, in the end, all this boy wants is freedom.
And she can understand that feeling very well, to a painful extent.
Overall, this scene is like it is in canon. However, in addition to saying that his dorm leader tutors him, Deuce also says that Yuu helps him a lot. It's thanks to those two that Deuce is able to enjoy school now, which makes Yuu smile.
Because of her weakened state and the fact that she thinks it's best to first see if Riddle's card soldiers can get through to Riddle, Yuu mostly remains quiet and lets them be the ones to talk to Riddle, especially since they're going the route of talking about their dorm leader in hopes of getting Riddle to remember.
Although, it does make her sad to hear Riddle essentially talking bad about himself, and she really wants to come to the real Riddle's defense.
That's why she doesn't try to stop Ace despite knowing that whatever he's going to say will piss off Riddle since that's likely their best chance of getting through to Riddle.
As a result, things play out like they do in canon with Riddle getting pissed and the darkness finally making its move, causing Yuu's condition to worsen.
It's at this point Yuu is fully convinced that the house is the darkness, and Idia backs her up, saying that now that the darkness has actually made its move he's getting the readings that prove her previous theory to be correct.
Much to everyone's dismay, Idia says he can't unlock the doors or windows, so everyone is completely trapped in the monster house.
Like in canon, the group, after discovering that Riddle and Che'nya are now nowhere to be seen, decide to go looking around and head for the kitchen where Riddle's mom should be.
Because of how bad off she is, Yuu has to be supported by Trey and Silver since she can't walk on her own when there's so much darkness surrounding them.
Because Silver is supporting Yuu, the one who opens the door to the kitchen is Deuce, and like in canon, a flood of tea pours out of the room, and everyone has to work together to close the door due to how powerful the current is.
During the discussion about Riddle's mom and how no one was in the kitchen, Yuu says it's likely Riddle couldn't imagine how his mother would physically look if she was the kind of sweet mother she's supposed to be in this dream, and the most he could do was imagine her voice, which Idia agrees with.
Like in canon, hands start sprouting out of the tea and grabbing everyone, and a particularly large amount of them grab Yuu since she's their main target.
While the others are able to manage to defeat the hands holding them down, they for some reason can't free Yuu since every time they destroy the hands more show up to take their place, much to everyone's dismay.
During that time, Che'nya makes a reappearance and says no one is allowed to leave, Yuu especially.
For some reason, Che'nya's face looks rather upset when he says that, making Yuu think that he's not in any way responsible for what the darkness is trying to do to her.
That's when Leona tries to get out of this house and defeat the darkness holding Yuu captive with his UM, only to get collared, like in canon, and poor Trey ends up in a similar state soon after thanks to Leona.
Not long after that, everyone, sans Ortho, begins to shrink because, when the tea poured out of the kitchen earlier, everyone ended up getting some tea in their mouths and accidentally swallowed it.
Seconds later, Yuu gets pulled into the sea of tea by the hands, which clearly intend to drown her.
Because he can't eat or drink, Ortho is still his normal size, so he goes after Yuu, after telling the others to leave the rescue to him since he'll have an easier time saving her as compared to everyone who has shrunk.
Thankfully, cause the hands shrunk in size so they can properly grip Yuu, Ortho has an easier time defeating them as compared to before, although it still takes longer than he'd prefer to save Yuu, who's just barely remaining conscious by this point.
When Ortho later breaches the surface of the tea sea with Yuu in hand, much to the relief of the others who have taken shelter on the cups and anything else they could find drifting on the tea sea, they all get surprised when Che'nya swipes Yuu and uses his magic so the two of them could hang from the living room chandelier.
The others want to complain about this, but before they can, they see countless hands sprouting out of the sea of tea in an effort to grab Yuu, only to miss their target thanks to Che'nya moving her to high ground, making them realize that Che'nya is actually trying to protect her, like what Kifaji did in Leona's dream.
Looking uncharacteristically serious, Che'nya asks Trey why he and the others brought Yuu here to this place.
Che'nya: Alice was so close to leaving Wonderland, but you guys ruined her chances, because you brought her here to this dangerous place she cannot escape.
Yuu, who's out of sorts thanks to nearly drowning, thankfully is cognizant enough that she hears those words, which catch her by surprise since Che'nya called her "Alice" and said she was close to leaving Wonderland.
Leona is suspicious of Che'nya and thinks he knows something about Yuu's whole situation with the darkness, like his inner darkness did, and predictably, Che'nya gets all cryptic, saying maybe he does and maybe he doesn't know the truth about Yuu's situation.
Around that time, Riddle starts crying, causing the room to become even more flooded.
Hearing Riddle crying, saying that he wants to leave but can't, breaks Yuu's heart. She tries to get him to tell her where he is, so they can all help him to no avail.
Like in canon, Trey tries to get Che'nya to take them to where Riddle is, and everyone has the same responses as they do in canon when Che'nya asks if they really want to ruin Riddle's happy dream.
However, everyone goes silent when Che'nya asks if they're okay with risking Yuu's well-being by taking her to where Riddle is. Things will only become even more difficult for her; there's no telling how much suffering she'll have to go through if they press on.
The fact that Yuu looks the worst she has ever looked makes Che'nya's foreboding words all the more convincing, even though they all know rationally that Yuu is screwed if they stay in this monster house.
Before Leona can say as much, Yuu surprises everyone when she says, "Queen of Hearts' Rule 799: On a day when more rain falls from the Queen's eyes than the sky, the Queen must be given a pure white handkerchief that's embroidered with a single red rose."
(This isn't a real rule, just one I made up, although I could easily believe a rule like this exists lol)
After saying that, Yuu pulls out a handkerchief that matches that description since she always keeps it on hand just in case so she won't ever break that rule.
In the background, Deuce asks Ace if he knew about that rule, and Ace says of course he didn't. Cater and Trey never heard of it either, which leads to Leona dryly asking why Yuu knows more of their dorm's stupid rules than they do lol
With a grin, Yuu says that she must give this handkerchief to Riddle ASAP, or else, everyone will lose their heads, Che'nya included, so she asks Che'nya to take everyone to where Riddle is.
She also adds that if Riddle is crying then he's clearly not happy, so she can't just do nothing, regardless of what kind of future lies ahead of her.
Once he sees that Yuu has made her mind up, Che'nya agrees to help her out since he doesn't want to lose his head either, so like in canon, everyone gets sucked into the sea of tea which apparently has a drain now, and Che'nya, who's still holding Yuu, jumps in after the others.
(Regarding the scenes with Idia and Malleus, they happen as they do in canon.)
After going through Che'nya's very wild shortcut, everyone finds themselves in the Heartslabyul rose garden, which doesn't surprise Yuu since the second level of every overblotters' dream happens where they overblotted.
Thanks to Silver's ring, which has been glowing for a while now, Yuu is not as bad off as she could be, but she has definitely seen better days.
That's why Che'nya helps keep her upright after he sets her down, which she thanks him for.
When Yuu hears Ortho say that he can't get in contact with Idia, she immediately gets a bad feeling, although she doesn't say as much out loud cause she doesn't want to worry Ortho.
Yuu sees this as a bad sign of what's to come since now they won't have Idia's support to get them through the second level of Riddle's dream which will be the toughest battle they've faced yet.
Yuu is eventually pulled away from her thoughts when they overhear Riddle's voice, which leads to her group spying on what's going on with Riddle.
Upon seeing Riddle dole out punishments like he did back in Book 1, Yuu confirms the setting of this dream, and she quickly realizes what's the situation after she overhears some students muttering about how the Dream Ace and Dream Deuce got a serious thrashing from Riddle.
Yuu, like the others, realizes this is a what-if scenario where Trey failed to protect Ace and the others with his UM when Riddle snapped.
From there, things proceed like in canon, except that Che'nya had never disappeared since he carried Yuu over to the second level of Riddle's dream.
The next canon divergence happens after Ace talks about how horrible the situation in Riddle's dream is and how things couldn't get worst, earning him a look from Yuu cause he totally just jinxed them.
Much to Yuu's dismay, Che'nya takes Ace's words as a challenge and goes after Riddle like he does in canon despite her and ADeuce trying to stop him, resulting in Riddle ending up upside down, like what happened to the Queen of Hearts in the Alice and Wonderland movie.
From there things play out like in canon with Riddle discovering Yuu's group and Leona telling Riddle outright that he's dreaming thanks to Malleus's UM.
After Trey joins in and tries to get Riddle to wake up like in canon, Yuu brings up what happened in reality - how he overblotted and they all had to fight him to save him.
Yuu tells Riddle that he learned from his mistakes and tried to become less strict about the rules. He worked to find a balance of obeying the rules but not forcing serious punishments on everyone who accidentally broke them.
He learned that ruling through fear wasn't right at all. After all, how could it be when everyone was so miserable, himself included?!
Her words make Riddle recall other memories, ones of him crying after his overblot - of him working on being less strict with his punishments.
Unfortunately, that's not enough to wake Riddle up thanks to the darkness getting involved.
Like everyone else, Yuu is shocked when Riddle says, even if this is all really a dream, he's happy cause everyone here fears and loves him.
She wasn't expecting his reaction to be along the same line as Ace's, but it's not like she doesn't understand where he's coming from when she knows Riddle really had it hard for a while following his overblot cause he got treated like some kind of monster.
Yuu realizes now just how much that hurt Riddle, and she wonders if all this time Riddle has thought he was still hated cause of what he did in the past, even though Trey, Cater, Ace, and Deuce as well as Yuu herself obviously care about him and respect him.
The thought breaks Yuu's heart, but it also upsets her since she has always made it quite obvious how she felt about Riddle. How dare he act like those moments of friendship they shared meant nothing?
Before Yuu can voice her feelings, all of Riddle's card soldiers, the darkness, gets sent after her and her friends, and they're all left with no other choice but to flee into the maze after splitting up.
Because Yuu's in no condition to run thanks to the sheer amount of darkness in this dream that's taking its toll on her despite Silver's ring protecting her, Sebek picks her up and carries her as he follows after Ace along with Grim.
Regarding the groups that Yuu isn't a part of, everything with them happens as they do in canon, so I'll only write about what happens with Yuu's group.
After Yuu's group separates from the others and manages to escape the darkness, Ace asks Yuu how she's doing since she obviously doesn't look good thanks to the darkness being all over the place.
Yuu admits she has seen better days, but she'll be able to hang in there thanks to Silver's ring. She thinks she could walk or run if necessary, but Sebek insists on carrying her as long as they're not fighting since he sees no point in her overexerting herself.
Ace, who's pretty upset about Yuu's current condition, is pissed at Che'nya for getting them in this mess, especially since he acted all high and mighty earlier, claiming they were the ones who endangered Yuu.
Sebek and Grim have similar feelings about Che'nya and would love nothing more to fight him. Unfortunately, Che'nya disappeared after he played that trick on Riddle earlier.
Yuu reasons that, even though Che'nya didn't want to endanger her, it's also a part of his character to cause mischief, so he was just staying true to how he is according to Riddle's imagination.
Plus, Che'nya had warned them in advance, and he never said that he'd protect her. She thinks they should be grateful he brought them to this second level of Riddle's dream when he didn't have to, although her sons' exasperation is understandable.
Grim wonders what they're supposed to do now. How will they meet back up with the others?
This leads to the canon conversation about being unable to use Magicam and how Ortho can't contact Idia anymore.
When Ace wonders if they're just out of service due to being so deep in the dream, Yuu says that's unlikely since all of the overblotters' dreams turned out like this, where they had to go to a second deeper level, and they never lost contact with Idia before.
That's why Yuu thinks something happened on Idia's end and why she's worried about him, although she wants to hope she's just being overly paranoid.
When the conversation moves onto how they should get out of the maze, things are like in canon with Ace explaining how the maze works, which Yuu already knows thanks to all the time she has spent at the Heartslabyul dorm.
When Sebek talks about the magically enchanted briars at his dorm and gets all smug about them not being needed thanks to Mallues, Yuu chides him for his usual attitude and says this is not the time or place for it.
Soon after that, Ace hears someone coming and has everyone hide in the nearby dead end. At the same time, Yuu senses the approach of darkness, so she tells Grim and Sebek to be quiet before they can protest.
When Dream Deuce later runs onto the scene, Yuu whispers that he's not the real Deuce. Thanks to her being so sensitive to the darkness in Riddle's dream, she can sense that's what he is as clear as day.
After hearing that, Ace, like in canon, tells Yuu and the others to remain where they are before he comes out of hiding and tries to pretend to be a darkness imposter.
Grim and Sebek get really confused since how could Ace be an imposter and Yuu not sense that like she did with Deuce just now? That's why they don't immediately get angry since this turn of events doesn't make sense.
Yuu assures them that Ace is the real deal. He's just putting on an act to deceive Deuce, so she tells them to remain quiet and leave everything to Ace.
As a result, Grim and Sebek don't ruin Ace's plan since they trust Yuu, and it makes more sense for Ace to be the real deal, considering how being around darkness normally affects her.
Much to everyone else's surprise, when the topic of whom they've caught gets brought up, Deuce asks Ace if he caught anyone other than Yuu cause he can sense her nearby thanks to the darkness being as sensitive to her presence as she is to theirs.
With a laugh, Deuce said Ace had it easy since, in this garden, the darkness can always sense Yuu once she's within a certain range, making it so that Yuu can never hide from them.
His words cause a chill to run down Yuu's and her sons' spines since it means Yuu truly isn't safe anywhere in this dream, at least not for long if she ever stops moving.
With a fake laugh, Ace agrees with Dream Deuce and says he got really lucky finding her, Grim, and Sebek, who are all too easy to fool. He was just getting ready to bring them to Riddle.
After that exchange, Ace lies and says he saw the real Deuce and Leona nearby and tells Dream Deuce where they headed, like in canon.
As a result, thanks to Ace efforts, Dream Deuce runs off, and they manage to avoid an altercation with him.
Once the coast is clear, Ace ushers everyone to hurry since, with Yuu in their group, they can't avoid to stay in one place for long.
At the same time, they can't make any suspicious movements, so they have no other choice but to head toward the direction Riddle is since Ace can continue using the excuse that he's bringing her to Riddle after having captured her.
Unfortunately for them, as they're running, more darkness eventually attacks, because it's going after Yuu. It surprise attacks by pooling under their feet and manages to catch Sebek while Ace and Grim just barely manage to avoid it, although Ace only avoids it thanks to Sebek knocking him to safety with his shoulder.
Without hesitation, Sebek throws Yuu at Ace, who manages to catch her. Sebek then tells Ace to get Yuu out of her. He'll stay behind and fight the darkness, which is now taking the form of countless card soldiers.
Yuu obviously doesn't want to leave Sebek behind, but Sebek intends to use his UM which will only endanger her and the others, so he wants them to leave this darkness to him and focus on waking up Riddle.
Even though he's not fond of this plan, Ace runs off, with Yuu in tow, and tells Grim to follow him.
Logically, Yuu knows this is the smartest choice of action since if they remain together they'll all just get overwhelmed, but she still can't help but hate this plan since it involves leaving one of her sons behind, knowing full well that he won't win.
A part of her wonders if she should separate from Ace and Grim since they won't be able to hide as long as she's with them, and the last thing she wants is to endanger them too, especially since someone needs to make it to Riddle's location in order to wake him up.
As if reading her mind, Ace tells her that if she starts talking nonsense about sacrificing herself cause she's the one the darkness is after he'll get seriously mad and punch her as hard as he can.
He knows what's going through her head - that keeping her with them will only make things more dangerous, but he doesn't give a damn. He'll take being potentially surrounded by darkness over abandoning Yuu and putting her in a position that will cause her to end up in a 1000 year long nightmare.
Everyone else can take the risk of getting caught by the darkness since there's a chance of them being rescued but not her. If Yuu gets captured, it'll be game over for her.
The whole reason Ace left his dream to go on this dangerous quest in the first place was cause he wanted to prevent that - to prevent her from doing something stupidly reckless, so he's absolutely not gonna allow that to happen on his watch.
Ace's honesty and genuine worry for her is what helps Yuu compose herself. She was feeling really guilty about what happened to Sebek since she considered it to be her fault, but she knows Ace is right.
Besides, separating from the group won't really help them in the long run. It definitely won't help wake up Riddle since they'll need as many people as possible to accomplish that, which should be her top priority.
Yuu apologizes to Ace and thanks him. She's really glad that she's with him right now since he's good at helping her in moments like this.
Ace relaxes somewhat when he sees that Yuu is in a better headspace, and in typical Ace fashion, he teases her and says that she'd be truly lost without him.
That's when Grim pipes up and scoffs, saying that Yuu only needs him. Ace is just here cause Grim doesn't feel like carrying Yuu, much to Ace's annoyance.
Thankfully, Yuu is able to stop them from arguing after pointing out that their yelling could lead to the darkness finding them, which promptly shuts them up.
Much to their surprise, right after that exchange, which leads to Grim nervously wondering how are they gonna avoid the darkness when it's so good at finding Yuu, Che'nya suddenly makes a reappearance and offers to be their guide to Riddle since his presence could temporarily ward off the darkness and keep Yuu off the darkness's radar.
Unsurprisingly, Ace and Grim are NOT happy to see him and don't want anything to do with him since it's his fault they're in this mess, but Yuu says that Che'nya is their best shot of getting through this maze undetected when the darkness can so easily find her.
That's why she asks Che'nya to be their guide, and he cheerfully agrees since he's rooting for her and doesn't want her adventure in Wonderland to have an unhappy ending.
His mention of Wonderland reminds Yuu of what Che'nya had said about her back in the monster house, which she really wants to question him about.
Unfortunately, Che'nya doesn't give her that opportunity since he starts moving quickly, all the while disappearing and reappearing, using random body parts to point the way they should go.
Despite their obvious reluctance, Ace, with Yuu in tow, and Grim follow after Che'nya, all the while threatening to go after Che'nya if he leads them into a trap.
Fortunately, Yuu was right to put her trust in Che'nya since he's able to guide her group to Riddle's location and the whole time they never encountered any darkness, much to their amazement.
As soon as he completes his job, Che'nya takes his leave after wishing "Alice" good luck, which leads to Ace and Grim asking where that name came from.
All Yuu can do is shrug since she really has no idea what's going on here, although she gets the feeling that she's missing something important - something she wouldn't be missing if she wasn't so exhausted thanks to the darkness taking a serious toll on her physically and mentally.
Soon after Che'nya leaves, her group spots Riddle along with the upperclassmen and Sebek who got captured and are all now tied up.
Things play out like in canon with Yuu's group meeting up with Ortho and Deuce and the five of them having to think of a plan to stop Riddle so they can save Trey and the others before it's too late.
Deuce comes up with the idea of using his UM while Ortho volunteers to be his shield to ward off Riddle's UM.
Yuu wants to help via trying to talk to Riddle since she's good at providing a distraction, and she thinks Riddle would be hesitant to use any dangerous spells on her, even with the darkness influencing him.
Yuu's sons don't like the idea since they don't know when the darkness will strike again and go after her. That's why Deuce/Ortho want Yuu to hide while Grim and Ace stay with her to protect her just in case the darkness does go after her so they can run away if necessary.
Grim is fine with the role of protecting Yuu, but Yuu/Ace are frustrated that they can't do more. They don't want to leave everything to Deuce/Ortho.
Unfortunately, they have no other choice but to go along with the plan, so things play out like they do in canon, at least until Ortho and Deuce come under attack from Riddle and stand no chance against him.
Upon seeing what Ortho and Deuce get put through thanks to Riddle, who's acting so smug, something inside Yuu snaps, and she gets an anger fueled adrenaline rush that provides her a much needed power/health boost.
Taking advantage of Ace being distracted by holding back Grim and him being caught up in his own negative thoughts, Yuu, after setting down Idia's tablet, sprints out of their hiding place, much to Ace's great dismay.
Yuu: Riddle Rosehearts! You bastard! Are you trying to piss me off again?! I won't let you off easy like last time and only body slam you if you keep this up! I'll give you the kind of punch I did to everyone else that overblotted!
While Yuu's sons call out her name in dismay, Riddle directs his full attention to her, and he flinches at the sight of her heated glare that reminds him so much of his mother's glare, like what happened in Book 1. He also staggers from memories that hit him thanks to her words.
When Riddle tries to deny the truth, Yuu says it's true that he overblotted - that he almost killed people because he lost his temper, but he lost to her and the others in the end, because they wanted to save him.
She then takes this chance to take her anger out on him for acting like this dream is so much better than reality - for acting like no one cares about him outside of this dream.
Yuu: When did I ever look at you with hatred?! When did I ever run away from you in fear and treat you like a monster?! Haven't I always looked you in the eye without fear right from the start?!
Riddle: *shaken by new memories that back up her words* T-That's...
Yuu: Since your overblot, we've spent so much time together. Do you think I would feed the hedgehogs or go on walks in the rose maze with someone I hated?! Are you telling me all the efforts I put into befriending you were for nothing?! My feelings didn't reach you at all?!
Riddle: Ugh! My head!
Yuu: Riddle-senpai, you big idiot! You're the worst! We even pink-promised to enjoy our freedom to the fullest here at NRC! If you say you don't even remember that, I'm gonna make you eat a thousand needles for breaking your promise!
Riddle: *suffering from an influx of memories* S-Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!
Much to everyone's surprise, rather than lash out with his magic, Riddle ends up summoning a torrent of darkness that heads straight for Yuu.
Right before that, thorny vines made from darkness wrapped around Yuu's legs, making it impossible for her to dodge, much to her and her sons' dismay.
Because of the poor state they're in thanks to Riddle, Deuce and Ortho are unable to move fast enough and panickily call out Yuu's name cause it'll be bad news if she gets hit by the darkness head on.
Thankfully, before the darkness can hit its mark, Ace comes to Yuu's rescue and tackles her to knock her out of the way whilst simultaneously using his magic to get rid of the vines holding her in place.
Thanks to his sharp observational skills, Ace, who had been beating himself up over being a coward as he watched Yuu face Riddle, had noticed the vines show up at the same time Yuu did, and he knew something was coming, which is why he had immediately started running.
Grim naturally went after Ace and used his fire magic on the darkness so it couldn't go after Ace and Yuu.
While Grim is fighting the darkness, Ace pulls himself and Yuu into a seated position and scolds her for being a reckless idiot. This is exactly what he didn't want her to do!
Before Yuu can apologize, Ace takes notice of how injured her legs now are thanks to the thorns mercilessly digging into her skin to hold her into place.
Seeing how Ace grows quiet upon seeing the damage done to her legs, Yuu tries to assure him that she's fine, but Ace doesn't really hear her since his blood is starting to rush to his head.
Surprising her, Ace brings up how Yuu has told him before that she's not an overly brave person despite the stunts she has pulled in the past. She just often gets so angry that she's unable to feel fear.
Ace: I think for the first time I finally understand that sentiment.
It's at that moment Ace begins glowing like what Yuu saw happen to Deuce when he used his UM against Vil. She realizes with great astonishment that Ace must be manifesting his UM.
Caught off guard, Ace falters like he does in canon, but Yuu takes him by the hand and reassures him that he'll be fine. Ace can absolutely do this. She has complete faith in him.
Yuu: *smiles* After all, you're MY Ace, and my Ace can do anything when I need him most!
Ace complains about her being cheesy, but her words give him the confidence boost he needs.
After thanking Yuu, Ace rises to his feet and takes notice of the fact that Riddle is getting ready to use his UM on Grim, who had started attacking Riddle once the darkness retreated due to Riddle composing himself for Yuu's sake.
Before Riddle can finish saying the name of his UM, Ace uses his UM and successfully uses Off With Your Head on Riddle, much to Yuu's amazement.
Once Riddle can't use his magic, Deuce finishes him off with his UM, successfully waking up Riddle.
Filled with pure relief over seeing Riddle finally awake, Yuu, who is coming off her earlier adrenaline high, collapses against the grass in relief, feeling completely spent thanks to the darkness that grabbed her earlier and left a mark.
Like in canon, the upperclassmen and Sebek arrive on the scene around that time. Silver and Sebek worriedly approach Yuu as well as Ace, Grim, and Deuce.
Thanks to things being slightly different from canon, Ortho isn't as damaged as he was in canon but still enough that he'll need help moving around so he can't go over to Yuu's side like he wants to.
That's why Leona takes care of using levitation magic on Ortho while Cater and Trey approach Riddle like they do in canon.
Upon seeing the damage done to Yuu's legs, Silver says they need to do first aid, although he thinks it may be better to jump to another dream first, since he wants to avoid what normally happens in overblotters' dreams.
Even though she doubts she'll be that lucky, Yuu doesn't say as much and instead asks Grim to collect Idia's tablet since they can't leave without that.
Unfortunately, right after Grim grabs the tablet, things play out like in canon with the darkness taking hold of Riddle, although, instead of Ace and Deuce, it's Trey and Cater who grab him.
At the same time, thorny vines made of darkness sprout out from the ground where Yuu is and lash out at all of her friends, successfully separating her from them, much to their dismay.
Having fully expected this turn of events since this is just how things go for her regrettably, Yuu isn't the least bit surprised when several of the vines wrap around her and proceed to pull her into a pool of darkness despite everyone's attempts to save her.
Seeing this, Riddle orders Trey and Cater to let go, so he can go into the darkness after Yuu.
As a result, everyone else is forced to leave the dream without Riddle and Yuu.
Going back to Yuu, when she later regains consciousness after getting pulled into the darkness, she finds herself tied up like how Trey and the others had been earlier when they got captured.
And before her is Riddle's darkness who has the appearance of his overblot form.
Regrettably, unlike Leona's darkness, Riddle's darkness is like the darkness of the other overblotters. He blames Yuu for everything going wrong - for why no one is following him. Everything went wrong because of her!
As he yells at her, thorny whips strike her all over, and it takes everything in Yuu to not cry out in pain since her high pain tolerance has its limits, especially when she's in such rough shape thanks to everything the darkness has been doing to her in the Heartslabyul dreams.
At this point, Yuu is barely conscious, but through sheer stubbornness, she's able to talk to Riddle and point out that he's the only one to blame for his current situation, because he refuses to listen to others and is even more stubborn than she is.
She tells him that no one would follow such a temperamental tyrant, who's just a huge brat who thinks he can get whatever he wants by throwing childish temper tantrums.
Her words naturally piss off Darkness Riddle, but before any more blows can land, the real Riddle arrives on the scene and uses his magic to destroy the whips and untie Yuu.
While Riddle is surprised to see the appearance of his inner darkness, Riddle is more pissed than anything because someone dared to attack a member of HIS dorm - someone under HIS protection. He'll have the head of the perpetrator who dared to commit such an unforgivable crime! Darkness Riddle says he's just carrying out a punishment that was completely justified since Yuu defied him. Anyone who doesn't follow him deserves to lose their heads.
When Darkness Riddle says it's all Yuu's fault that everything went wrong for them, Riddle looks at him like he's an idiot since he can't recall a single thing Yuu did that had a negative impact on his life.
On the contrary, Yuu was one of the reasons that Riddle was able to get through the tough period that followed his overblot since she never stopped approaching him - never ran away or avoided his eyes.
Yuu was always willing to talk to him and would invite him to hang out with her - to play with the hedgehogs or do other activities that she thought he'd like.
Her past actions meant a great deal to him. That's why Riddle says it's an unforgivable crime to hurt her - why he won't let his inner darkness get away with its crime.
While Yuu is touched by Riddle's words and happy that he treasures those moments as much as her, Darkness Riddle starts listing all of Riddle's faults, saying that everyone hates him and Yuu is no different. Don't be fooled!
Yuu denies those words and tells the darkness to not act like a complete know-it-all. It knows nothing about her true feelings; only she does.
Riddle agrees with her, saying it's very arrogant of his inner darkness to speak on her behalf, especially when she's right there. He won't allow the darkness's disrespect to go unpunished.
From there, things play out like in canon with Riddle overblotting and fighting his inner darkness.
After Riddle wins the fight, he hurries over to Yuu, appearing worried due to all her injuries. He does the best he can with his magic to stem the bleeding and makes use of his medical knowledge, all the while apologizing for not coming sooner.
Yuu tells him that he doesn't need to apologize. She knows he came as soon as he could, and she thanks him for saving her.
Surprising Riddle, after she thanks him, Yuu gives him the white handkerchief as she recites the Queen of Hearts' Rule 799.
Once he overcomes his surprise, Riddle laughs and says she needs that handkerchief far more than him, but he praises her for following the rules and says he's proud to have such a competent, reliable card soldier.
Right after that exchange, the dream begins to shift, and the two soon find themselves back in Riddle's original dream.
When Yuu regains consciousness, she finds herself sprawled out on a couch, and she sees Riddle sitting with his mother on a different couch, having also just woke up.
This time his mother has an actual form, although her face appears out of focus, no doubt because Riddle can't imagine his mother with a loving expression.
Things play out like they do in canon, although there's a slight change in that Riddle's mom says Yuu also fell asleep like Riddle after having come over for a visit and listening to Riddle's mom read to them for a while.
While Riddle faces his mother, Yuu remains silent, but she moves over to where Riddle is despite her injuries as a show of support.
Plus, she doesn't want Riddle to see her flipping his mother off while Yuu is standing behind him lol 😂
Once Riddle has taken care of things, things play out like in canon except instead of just Riddle getting summoned by Idia Yuu gets summoned too since she had grabbed onto Riddle when things had started shaking and ended up getting caught up in Idia's summoning spell.
When Riddle and Yuu fall into Idia's room, with Yuu thankfully managing to land on Idia's bed which cushions her landing, Idia is shocked to see Yuu since he wasn't trying to pull for two SSRs here, just one! lol
Idia then panics cause this is the worst possible place for Yuu to be, but unfortunately, there's no time to get her out of here since there are so many other things he has to do.
Before Riddle can question Idia, Idia begins speeding through an explanation, like in canon, and as this is happening, Yuu convinces Riddle to wait until Idia is done talking since she can tell that something serious is going on here.
Eventually, Yuu realizes just how serious things are when the room starts rattling, and Idia reveals that Malleus is outside and he's ready to put them all to sleep for a thousand years.
It's at that moment a terrified Yuu realizes her trademark bad luck which has been in high gear for the last several dreams isn't done with her yet.
Not by a longshot.

helpful2468 replied to your post: Did most of the dorm finally learn their lesson after Yuu graduated?
The Octavinelle group won’t someone help manage the Monsttolouge after Azul graduates or you think no. Because I don’t think Azul would close such a place that students dine from. Besides that Crowley gets a percentage of the profit so he might allow it to continue.
@helpful2468
Oh yeah, I'm sure Azul fully intends to keep that place running since it was his first business, and it's obvious how important the Mostro Lounge is to him, even though he tries to act like he doesn't care as much as he does.
Once he and the Tweels are fourth year students, I'm sure Azul would make arrangements for other students to manage the lounge while he's gone, and that would continue after he graduates.
I could easily see Azul asking Yuu to be one of those people when she's a third year student since he trusts her and knows she could handle things well.

How would the the hardcore Malleus simps react to Tsuki calling their Face Prince daddy? Especially with the human they dislike as the mother?
Hmm I doubt they would ever find out, considering none of those guys are gonna be around Malleus after graduation. Malleus wouldn't keep in contact with them, and Malleus would keep Tsuki's identity on the downlow for her privacy/protection, so only those who regularly interact with Malleus would know about her.
Once the simps graduate, they probably won't be as hardcore about Malleus since they're not around him anymore, so while they still greatly admire/respect him, they're not up-to-date on his life since that's basically impossible for a fae who hardly uses technology and probably wouldn't make TV appearances or whatever that would allow them to know what he's doing post-graduation lol

Did most of the dorm finally learn their lesson after Yuu graduated? Or did they still think that she's taking advantage of their dorm heads?
Heh, "learn their lesson"? Oh, anon, don't forget who we're talking about here. NRC boys rarely ever learn their lesson or admit that they're wrong since they're all a bunch of arrogant selfish jerks lol
However, as the years pass and new students come in while others graduate, things get a little better for Yuu cause her future underclassmen don't give her as much trouble due to Yuu having a reputation by that point that encourages people not to mess with her lol
Pomefiore and Diasomnia, which I would say have the worst guys to deal with due to how intensely devoted they are to Vil and Malleus, aren't as bad once Vil and Malleus aren't around. Like there are still guys that dislike Yuu, but they have less to complain about since Yuu doesn't interact with Vil and Malleus regularly anymore.
Although, I will say that less Diasomnia guys dislike Yuu following the events of Book 7 since she played a pivotal role in saving Malleus which Malleus and Lilia made known to everyone, so only the really diehard Malleus simps dislike Yuu after that, mostly cause they hate how much attention Malleus gives her lol
Pomefiore will always be the dorm that has the most guys that dislike Yuu since she clashes with their aesthetic, so even when Vil leaves, there will still be plenty of guys who dislike her. They just won't be as inclined to pick fights with her.
Savanaclaw and Ignhihyde will forever remain dorms that don't give Yuu trouble even after Leona graduates since the guys in Yuu's and Ruggie's grade respect Yuu and won't let any newcomers give her any trouble, especially as long as Ruggie is around, and I'm sure by the time Jack is a third year that nobody would ever wanna mess with him lol
Octavinelle will be free of the influence of the NDA Yuu signed once Azul graduates, so during her third year, that dorm could give her trouble, but I don't see those guys going out of their way to pick fights with her so they wouldn't be too difficult to deal with.
In Scarabia, the guys who have the most issue with Yuu are the upperclassmen, partially cause they think she's taking advantage of Kalim but mostly cause she's a magicless student who's doing so well in her classes, so by the time Yuu is a third year, Scarabia wouldn't give her much trouble.
Heartslabyul guys dislike Yuu cause Riddle treats her nicely, and they think she gets special treatment from him. The guys from that dorm who dislike her are mostly the guys who had to deal with Riddle's tyrant years since they still have a grudge against Riddle. There aren't too many Heartslabyul guys in Yuu's grade that dislike her since they're grateful to her and ADeuce for playing a role in putting Riddle's tyranny to an end. So once Yuu is a third year, she wouldn't have too much trouble with this dorm.
To summarize, there will always be NRC boys who suspect Yuu of having ulterior motives - of being someone who's doing all kinds of shady stuff behind the scenes to further her agenda, so Yuu will always have haters lol

A few days after the second group of tsum visitors leaves, a new batch of tsums arrives, much to your delight and almost everyone else's exasperation. Regrettably, the third group of tsums is the most difficult group yet since the majority of the tsums end up butting heads with their human counterparts for one reason or another, and there are also some tsums that don't get along well with each other. It's a good thing you have a lot of experience playing the role of mediator.
Because you're definitely going to need it.

Do any of Yuu's kids have a particular stuffed animal from their childhood that they were able to keep? Or were they not the type to have one?
Uhhh I've never really thought about their toys, but I'd say that Sora, Tsuki, and Ortho liked playing with plushies when they were little. I don't know if they'd keep them once they got older, though. I could see them passing them along to other kids once they were no longer interested in playing with their plushies.
