Mina in May: I can't wait to join you at the seaside for a relaxing summer vacation, Lucy!

Whitby, day 1: Lucy is lovely, the town is beautiful, lots of spooky stories to enjoy...

Whitby, day 3: Jonathan is MIA and Lucy is sleepwalking. But surely it will all be fine soon enough!

Whitby, day 4: No fiances to be had for either of us. Lucy's sleepwalking is keeping me up all night. It's hot, and I'm tired, and I'm worried. At least Lucy looks healthy for now, but where is my Jonathan?

Another three days, and no fucking news.

Remember when we joked that Dracula was a comedy, actually? I miss that

I thought that Mina would be easier considering that I love what I drew for Aug 24, but I forgot that having already made a good design makes it harder to replicate. 

I gave her a single dimple because I have only one (on the same cheek, too!)... and then I learned that to have a single dimple is rarer than having two. Haha, I'm a nerd; I need to stop projecting--

I see her having rather thick dark hair and matching eyes. The drawing of her with her hair down... I’m not satisfied with it. Oh, well, there’s always tomorrow.

this is the portion of dracula daily that i was most interested in

how mina reacts to her own vampirization, because lucy was not aware of what was happening but mina knows precisely that she is turning into a vampire and this fills her with self loathing and this is so incredibly fascinating to me.

October 2nd

Watching Mina go through the same thing Lucy did is somehow even more tragic than watching Lucy go through it was.

I think it's because at least Lucy and everyone else were unaware of the danger and what was happening while here we have everyone knowing and trying to stop Dracula but no one is noticing when things go bad from within the team itself. Before it was attention with a lack of knowledge of the cause, and now it's the cause with a lack of attention to all the players.

This is just the same tragedy repeating again but in reverse and it's quite saddening to see.

I love this part of Jonathan being hopped up on adrenaline, revenge and justice, making him be near feral, but also writes 'im a little sleeby',

then the next day 'oh, I feel like a new man :D'

while Arthur, with all the exhaustion of a parent taking care of an extremely hyperactive toddler, is out cold

My expectations were wrong, for fucking twice during the night I was wakened by Lucy trying to get out.

Mina: “Jonathan, I’ve noticed that you need more male friends.”

Jonathan: “I do not.”

Mina: “You always spend all your time with me and Lucy, and any time you can’t, you mope around the house waiting for me to return.”

Jonathan: “I don’t get along with men!”

Mina: “What about the journalist from The Exeter News?”

Jonathan: “That is your friend. I introduced you two, sure, but every man I introduce to you is immediately more charmed with you than with me.”

Mina: “Well, what about Mr. Hawkins?”

Jonathan: “Mina, he loves you! He likes you much more than me.”

Mina: “That is a complete lie! Surely, he sees me as an extension of you. He loves me as his daughter-in-law.”

Jonathan: “Mina, if anyone is the in-law, it’s me. You’re his pride and joy!”

Mina: “It’s not like he even raised me! Meanwhile, you were at least trained by him.”

Jonathan: “But it’s you he brags about. He grants us a loan once and suddenly all your accomplishments are a result of him being our benefactor. “Did you know Mina is a schoolmistress?” Yes, boss, I’m married to her. He sees you as his own daughter.”

Mina: “And what of you?”

Jonathan: “His clerk.”

Mina: “Well! It’s not going to happen again! I’m going to introduce you to a whole posse of men, and they’re all going to love you!”

*few days later*

Van Helsing: “Oh, dear husband of Madam Mina-”

Jonathan: *side-eyes Mina*
