I have to prepare a talk on post porn and I feel very competent taking about my artistic practice regarding the topic and curating and my experience with showing queer porn but also I’m kinda scared it’s gonna be boring and unprofessional, I might post a transcription on here if anyone’s interested in that? What is post porn?

‘’because the movement seeks to undo rather than define, everything is acceptable in post-porn.’’(1)

Also known as feminist porn or queer porn, the movement is born in the 1990′s in a hunger to expend the representations of the body and sex, experiment new forms of desire as well as to criticize mainstream pornography. It’s intention is to knock down society's so called norms and stereotypes about sexuality and gender identities through essays, videos, performances, digital work and conceptual art. 

Post porn uses nonexclusively different mechanisms such as ; irony, prosthesis, the inclusion of the public and creates a rupture in the dichotomy subject/object. It is a platform to question, criticize and shine a new light on; the link between the sex and sexuality, capitalism regime, ablelism , heteronormativity, cisnormativity and the systematic medicalization of the body. 

Post-porn is basically a lab, a space to redefine the self and relations, and people come to it from so many angles/backgrounds/aims from radical queer-feminist making hot porn to artists in their basement exploring the sensuality of micro-movements to punks making a erotica cabaret in an underground venue to intentional community queer feminist groups and collectives organizing ‘’Self-managed workshops to explore where the theoretical reflection is accompanied by practice.’’(3)

why post porn?  

‘’gender is metamorphosed constantly, its strangeness repeatedly elucidated.’’(4)   

post_cunt’s concept is to transmogrify the body with the technology of clay and DIY sculpture to research what/how sensual, sexual interactions and desires can arise. The film is a bridge between visual art, performance and erotica. My approach as a Director is to offer tools to the performers through workshops and exercises for them to uncover and identify their relationship to the work and the medium. This film, amongst others in the field, blurs and sabotage the opposition between legetimate culture (art) and illegitimate culture (pornographiy).

“Puts the Homo back in Homicide” is the teaser for Tom Kalin’s first feature, Swoon, but it could easily apply to Gregg Araki’s newest, The Living End, as well. Where Kalin’s film was an interrogation of the past, Araki’s is set resolutely in the present. Or is it? Cinematically, it restages the celluoid of the 1960s and 1970s: early Godard, Bonnie and Clyde, or Badlands— every pair-on-the-run movie that ever penetrated Araki’s consciousness. Here, though, the couple are both guys and they are HIV-positive, one bored and one full of rage, both of them with nothing to lose. They could be characters out of a porn flick, the stud and the john, in a renegotiated terrain. Earlier Araki films were often too garage-band, too cheesecake, too far into visual noise for my taste, but this one was different. Camera style and palette updated the New Wave. Araki’s stylistic end runs paid off, and this time he captured a queers-on-the-lam portrait deserving of a place in movie history: an existential film for a postporn age, one that puts queers on the map as legitimate genre subjects. It’s quintessentially a film of its time.

Dalle ricerche intorno al progetto ÜBER RAFFICHE (nude expanded version) è nata una prima espansione: un attraversamento di immagini, icone e universi culturali su corpo, armi e sessualità incarnati da donne e/o identità queer. La forza, la violenza, il conflitto sono concetti fondativi del politico e sono stati storicamente giocati come attribuzione naturale del maschile. 

GangGongGirls passa in rassegna diversi immaginari per ripensare il nesso tra corporeità e politica, attraverso figure e concetti: forza | violenza | protesi | vulnerabilità | sessualità | autodifesa | spazio pubblico. GangGongGirls sarà un dispositivo di incontro pubblico sull’analisi di immagini di donne combattenti nei momenti rivoluzionari – dalla Rivoluzione francese e la Comune, ai processi di decolonizzazione, alla resistenza in Rojava – o nella lotta armata, passando per l’uso strumental-sessuale nella pornografia mainstream e nei B-movie, fino ai rovesciamenti attuati dal postporn e dal pornoterrorismo. Un album di figure. Di icone di donne con le armi in pugno. Per mettere in crisi l’identificazione del femminile con la mitezza e la nonviolenza, senza perciò riproporre mitologie egualmente essenzialiste delle “donne guerriere”: erotizzazione, esotizzazione o glamourizzazione sono infatti dispositivi che operano nella rappresentazione dei corpi combattenti delle donne, allontanandoli ancora dal politico. Il momento è ora. Ovunque, per rovesciare lo stereotipo della vittima associato ai corpi di donne, gay, trans, queer, i movimenti trans-femministi – con strumenti diversi in giro per il mondo – trasformano l’autodifesa e la performance sessuale in pratica politica. Iconographies and imageries of sexualized armed bodies. Out of Motus’ research into its project ÜBER•RAFFICHE (nude expanded version) has come this rst enlargement, a crossing of images, icons and cultural worlds on the body, weapons and sexuality intrinsic to women and/or queer identity. Power, violence and con ict are concepts underlying politics and historically have been played out as natural attributes of males. GangGongGirls¤will be a public encounters on analysing images of ghting women at times of revolution – from the French Revolution to the decolonization process – through the instrumental/ sexual use of mainstream porn and B-movies to the disruption caused by postporn and pornterrorism. This is an album of images, of icons of women bearing arms. The time is now. Anywhere, to overturn the victim stereotype associated with the bodies of women, gays, trans and queers, trans-feminist movements – using di erent tools all around the world – are converting self-defence and sexual performance into political practice. This art of bypassing and subverting the dominant norm through the creation of sexy imagery is reminiscent of contemporary strategies of expression in LGBTQIA+ movements. Vigée Le Brun didn’t run a drag club or direct sex-positive postporn short films, and she may never have had lesbian relationships. Yet her painting relates to queerness in that it challenges a social and gendered prohibition with an iconography that complicates fixed sexual categories.

Ho colto l'occasione di partecipare alla lettura dell'Ulisse sulla piattaforma Goodreads Italia (Natale con Joyce). Confesso che se non fosse stato per il gruppo, avrei continuato a postporne la lettura per vari motivi... spauracchio della letteratura, caposaldo della tecnica narrativa del "flusso di coscienza"... mi sembra di sentire ancora i miei (professori d'inglese) discuterne. Suppongo ci siano molti modi di avvicinarsi all’Ulisse e studiarlo come fosse la Divina Commedia avvalendosi cioè di commenti, note, citazioni, referenze che possano renderlo intelligibile. Rimane il fatto che a me ha lasciato molto poco (Sirene, Circe e Penelope tra i capitoli più convincenti) dopo uno sforzo considerevole per portare a termine la lettura. Sicuramente non lo rileggerò, nonostante le raccomandazioni degli esperti, perché non ho provato alcun piacere nel farlo. Questo è il punto! Non credo che la ragione principale sia la difficoltà quanto la mancanza di spontaneità, di naturalezza del testo, arido e noioso in molte parti. Una scorpacciata di erudizione fine a sé stessa, un artefatto fatto ad arte, una caccia al tesoro di significati per una cerchia ristretta di studiosi delle sue stravaganze “keep the professors busy for centuries” (JJ Letters 521) in un estenuante gioco di Monopoli a Dublino. Ho trovato conforto nel giudizio altrettanto netto di due dei miei autori preferiti: Virginia Woolf e D.H.
