SUMMARY:

Christine Daae, a student and orphan, lives a perfectly normal life. However, when she happens to meet a dangerous, mysterious man with the voice of an angel, she quickly realises her life will never be the same.

Will Christine manage to remain herself, descend into madness or lose her heart to the man she swore to never love?

I don’t have a concrete storyline planned out for these two, but I already have a bunch of WIPs with these two, so I guess you guys can look forward to that! Of course, I would love to know what you guys think about this au and your spin on their story! 🫶

A little Erik AU I have been working on is a modern day au with a little sketch too.

Modern AU for Erik

Erik lives in an old bar/performance theater that after years of unused got transformed into a bar for the locals. Erik cares for the bar, mantience it and works in it, it was inherited to him by the old woman who took him in as a child from the streets. The music that plays in it is mostly rock/ punk.

Erik has a scar on the right side of his face that has been known to the locals for a while, and even as he wears a mask most of the time to cover it up, earning him the name of phantom, there’s always those frat boys that get lost in the area messing with him. Erik has several tattooed on himself, his neck is the most notorious one, where he has two butterflies on the side of his neck, one on each side. His eyebrow is pierced on the visible side of his face and his tongue is also pierced. He keeps his hair relatively short and his face shaved. Erik dresses mostly in red and black. He is 35 years old, and his personality often starts more fights in that bar than he cares to admit. He is very dramatic, self-conscious and a loner, hates having anyone stare at him or the mask for too long, it triggers bad memories for him.

He sings some nights at the bar, he has a small metal band called Ghosted, he is the ,Ian singer and his voice is often compared to angel’s. Drawing constant people to the bar, many who will try to get close to him but he doesn’t allow them, specially not after what happened with an ex girlfriend he had, who got close enough to him but fled after he showed her his face, almost ten years since that and he refuses to let anyone so much as to learn his name.

So I've been playing around with the idea of a modern academia AU over on my main (@void-ptr) and had the urge to explore what that Erik would look like. Here's a headshot I did to get an idea of what colors I was gonna use — I'm working on some full body drawings as we speak lol. More rambling under the cut

Everyone is weird on college campuses so honestly I feel like Erik could get away with wearing a visible mask like this. I'm sure some profs and students would ask but shrug it off whenever they get his non-answers. I actually had a philosophy prof that never wore shoes on campus unless he was absolutely required to. Nobody batted an eye after they asked one question and he answered with "I hate how it feels," lol. I miss him, he was great. ANYWAY. I'll probably post some more of him later, who knows. Gotta figure out what his bare face is gonna look like first lol

This is a belated posting for the last day of POTO Fluff Week 2024, which was a Free Day! I used a prompt from @littlecofiegirl to help me out with this one - 'I came in here to draw in peace and quiet and here you are leading this group of tourists around and your voice is amazing and I can’t concentrate.' It screamed E/C and I couldn't help but bring it to life. Thank you so much for all the love on the Fluff Week oneshots this year, and to @textsfromthefifthbasement for hosting this event! I had so much fun writing them <3

There was a pause, a tiny gasp as his breath caught, and she could only imagine his heart was beating as quickly as hers now; she squeezed his shin, beneath her left hand, and leaned closer to nuzzle against his neck, breathing in the scent of his cologne. He exhaled, all the contentment in the world, and slowly, tentatively, leaned the unmasked side of his face against the crown of her head, braced to see if she would pull away. Christine slipped her right arm around his waist, and the walls of his nervousness seemed to melt, his posture softening, the rigid tension of his muscles relaxing, the weight of the strong arm around her back suddenly present, steady and wonderful. She let out a sigh of pleasure, of peace.

"…the death of me," he murmured tenderly, and she couldn't help but smile. (x)

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to convey how much I love the fic Volée by @veroniqueclaire , as I am not as articulate as the other fic commenters (which is also why I don’t really comment 😓). Like the summary provided by our lovely author, it truly is the quiet moments where the most magnificent things happen between our two beloved characters.

Personally, my favorite scene has always been the beach scene, a particularly calm occasion after what happened in the previous chapter… 😬 It was a rare moment where both Erik and Christine’s guards are down, where the two of them could actually speak their minds without much argument. In addition, VeroniqueClaire has such great talent when it comes to painting a full picture of what she hopes to project to the readers. The image in my mind was so tender that I simply had to capture it. I hope I do it justice!
